It's very hard to understand what you're trying to say here... Maybe you should explain your case in your local subforum and get some help there? Maybe somebody on your local subforum can help you with a decent translation in case they can't help you out...

--snip--
i ask you all ...if you  got mute by mode without reason explain you can write with admin bitcointalk for make solution

What does Theymos have to do with casinoroyale? As far as I know, he doesn't run this casino, so why do you think he'd be able to solve your problem?

because some sites gambling is rud now and they do what they can do for try scam us

Did they scam you, or mute you for 60 minutes? If they scammed you, you should add ample proof and open a topic in the scam accusation subforum so other people are warned, and maybe put some pressure on the scammer to reimburse you for the amount that was scammed

Abra can steal my money or no?

If they are telling the truth, and they are (in fact) a non-custodial wallet, they cannot steal your funds IF you don't share your seed, master private key, or derived keys.
However, if they are lying (and they're a custodial wallet disguised as a non-custodial wallet) or if they included a backdoor in their software, they can potentially steal from you.

Since it's a closed source application, there is no way to know any of this for sure... IF you get this solved, empty out your abra wallet and switch to a decent one instead (i'd like to recommand either a ledger or trezor hardware wallet...).
1803  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Accidentally sent btc to bsv address please help me on: January 23, 2020, 07:26:07 AM
--snip--

Sir , what if abra didnt want to give my bsv private key?
Well, they can't give you the private key (at least, not without knowing the seed phrase, which you probably shouldn't give them). What they can do is tell you the derivation path... Or even better: give you a step-by-step guide on how to recover their BSV wallet on electrum for BSV.

If they give you a step-by-step guide on how to do this, the rest should be a simple as opening said electrum for BSV wallet, going to the menu "wallet" => "private keys" => "export". Then looking through this export to find the private key whose public key hash is 1Na9ZvogrWGWSYAzpWPFS5axKV4z7kQJTt, copying this private key and using it inside an electrum for BTC wallet.

But yeah, if they don't want to give this info to you, things get rather difficult. They could have chosen any derivation path... But don't get ahead of things, first try if they aren't willing to give you the info you require in order to recover almost $3500 in BTC.

I have recovery phrase sir but cant input to electrum app they need private key i only have recovery phrase i dont know the private key

In simple words: the recovery phrase is used by the wallet to calculate a master private key.
This master private key is used to derive actual private keys. However, this process isn't 1-to-1. 1 Master private key can be used to generate an infinite amount of series of private keys depending on the derivation path.
It's actually a bit more difficult than this, but this is the general idear behind seed phrases, xprv, private keys and derivation paths.

This is why we need to know this derivation path. If you enter the wrong path, a completely "useless" series of private keys will get derived. There are some standards as to which derivation paths to use, but abra already said they use custom derivation paths.

According to Abra:
Quote
The Abra wallet is designed to give you full, exclusive control of your private key. When you first download the wallet, you are prompted to write down a “recovery phrase”: that is your private key. So long as you keep your recovery phrase safe and do not install any malware on your phone, your private key will remain in your exclusive control.

You should have written down or recorded the recovery phrase from the very beginning. Without that, your funds are pretty much gone.

I've been following this case from the beginning, and (eventough he hasn't explicitly told us), the OP never said he didn't save the seed phrase.

@OP: is it possible to explicitly verify and tell us if you have the 13 word seed phrase written down (don't post the actual 13 words)? If not, the rest of this thread is more or less futile...

@OP: are you 100% sure address 1Na9ZvogrWGWSYAzpWPFS5axKV4z7kQJTt was generated by your abra wallet?
What i would do is the following:
  • create a screenshot of your abra wallet, showing this address
  • send it to abra support, explicitly telling them that this address was generated by their wallet, but for the wrong coin
  • tell them that if they can tell you how to derive the private key for this address (generated for BSV), that you can import this private key into a lot of wallets on the BTC network, and you should be able to spend those unspent outputs funding 1Na9ZvogrWGWSYAzpWPFS5axKV4z7kQJTt
  • So basically, in order not to create confusion, ask them how to derive a private key for BSV. Since they claim to be a non-custodial wallet, there should be no reason not to give this information to you...

Actually I don't need it, as I got the same report from someone else, too. Turns out on the coordinator side the filters on the testnet got stuck at block 1639121. While according to SmartBit the latest block is 1663495. This happened like 2-3 times on the testnet before, as testnet is often acting crazy.  I restarted it, it should catch up in a few minutes.

Perfect  Grin
Let's do some more testing now!
Thanks

You meant nowhere one could actually invest on planet apart from lending from the bank?  I want to invest in what you're currently doing online as job

Sure, anybody can invest... I can buy shares for loads of companies, i can invest in crypto, i can invest in gold, i can invest in property,...
However, investing always carries a risk, and the bigger the potential rewards, the bigger this risk. In order to gain 10000% in 15 days, you'll need to invest in something that's very, very, very risky...

I don't take investments for what i'm doing as a job...
1808  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wasabi Wallet 1.0 Is Released on: January 22, 2020, 01:15:28 PM
Since it's a testnet wallet, can you share your extpubkey? With this we can avoid back and forth debugging. In the wallet file there's a line:

Code:
"ExtPubKey": "xpub12234"

No problem, like you say: it's a testnet wallet Smiley
Code:
"ExtPubKey": "xpub6DWrfCFdchVSbJ8vTprYwoXwy3Z8rucCS7Kv24WgFdexQWuayE36ARNGNdbc8xktgbn5WnVVoW15qWCSLXcJVnqYz4e6uizNLjX4TSFdJQu",
Like i said: no harm was done, it's all on the testnet, and i can use electrum to recover my unspent outputs (sufficiently large tBTC outputs are hard to come by nowadays), but i tought it would be good if i didn't give up on wasabi, but rather tried to give you the info you need to find the problem.
1809  Other / Off-topic / Re: Invest $50 and gain $5000 withnin a week on: January 22, 2020, 11:02:13 AM
Such returns are obviously NOT possible. Don't fall for scams on the internet (especially here on the forum, on Twitter or Telegram) which promise those unbelievebly high ROIs. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If someone would know a way to make thousands of dollars in a few days, why would he share his method with you? Wouldnt it be better not to share it?

Conclusion: Dont fall for scams that predict huge returns! You will lose your money!

exactly... If there was a sure, legal, no-risk way of increasing your capital 10000% in 15 days, do you think anybody on this forum would still have a daytime job?

If you try to do this, only 3 things can/will happen:
  • Most probable: you'll get scammed. You'll send your $50 to a ponzi that promises high returns and you'll lose your $50
  • Possible: You'll take huge risks, and probably lose everything. For example, if you roll dice on a casino without a house edge, you have a 0.7% chance (that's 7 chances in 1000) to make 7 successive wins gaining you $6400. You have 99.3% chance of losing your $50 and ending up with nothing
  • Plausible: You'll end up doing illegal things, like money muling, money laundring, selling drugs, setting up an illegal casino, scamming other people,...

If you really need $5000, visit a local bank, (potentially put up your house as collateral) and take a loan.

How to get private key sir? Private key in my abra account?

I have never used abra, but apparently you should have been shown a recovery phrase when you created your wallet:
https://www.abra.com/blog/abra-recovery-phrase/

Using this recovery phrase, you should be able to use (for example) electrum => restore your wallet from seed => go to the "wallet" menu => private keys => export

Or you can use a tool like this one: https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ (download and run on an offline computer only, reboot when finished)

I have no idear if they extended the seed, or if they use a custom derivation path tough... Probably either ask their support, search their help or resort to trial and error
1811  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Safest Wallet for BTC without Fee on: January 21, 2020, 03:01:09 PM

and paperwallet?

A PROPERLY generated, bip38 encrypted paper wallet is defenatetly a secure option if it's generated using a peer-reviewed, offline wallet generator.
However, the big drawback is that a paper wallet is rather impractical to use... Every time you want to use your paper wallet, you need to import the private key into a different wallet, spend, create a new paper wallet, empty out the wallet to fund your new paper wallet, rinse, repeat...

But yes, airgapped wallets, paper wallets and hardware wallets are all considered secure Smiley
1812  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Safest Wallet for BTC without Fee on: January 21, 2020, 02:54:53 PM
I am exploring all options safe or paid to store coins or to mine it. I have heard people saying that trezor and other hardware wallets are also not fully safe?

100% safety doesn't exist... However, there's a huuuuuuge256 difference between using an online wallet and a hardware wallet.
Sure, in the past certain attack vectors were found for certain types of hardware wallets, but afaik, those attack vectors were always rather far-fetched. Usually, the attacker has to have physical access to your device to begin with.
There is a big contrast to many other types of wallets, with attack vectors including: "not owning your own keys, phishing, software vulnerability's, seed phrases being sent to a remote server in cleartext,...

It's not because a hardware wallet only offers 99,99% security you should ever consider using a wallet that offers 50% security because 99,99% isn't 100%*

*numbers only shown to make a point, they are not based on measurements...

I realise this isn't the default support channel, but since i'm not a redditor and the lead dev seems to visit this thread once in a while, i decided to post my question here Smiley

I found some strange behaviour on the TESTNET, i didn't lose anything, not even TESTNET coins, but if i weren't on the TESTNET, my heart would have skipped a beat.

The setup:
OS: Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS
Wasabi version: 1.1.10.2
Tor Disabled
Local node enabled
bitcoin core is sync'ed
backend is connected

I have funded, and moved around a couple addresses with some tBTC, then closed the gui and waited for a clean shutdown.
Afterwards, i restarted wasabi, waited untill the node was up and running again, opened my wallet.... Aaaand.... No funds  Huh

I restored the wallet in electrum and see all those transactions funding my addresses... But in wasabi: nothing.

However, when i create a new address, the key path is 84'/0'/0'/0/9. So Wasabi knows it already derived 8 addresses and they were funded, but it decided not to show those transactions funding those first 8 addresses...

If i fund address 84'/0'/0'/0/9 (tb1q57p5taq0dvlpm7url7n2kdh90h5n2mug5aays3), the transaction shows up, but it remains unconfirmed (eventough core is synchronised and the backend is connected, and the transaction IS in fact confirmed)... (i messed up and send 1 mtBTC instead of 1BTC, but this isn't the problem, i funded the other 8 addresses with inputs of up to 5 tBTC)

I used an unspent output funding a previously derived wasabi address to fund address 84'/0'/0'/0/9, and wasabi detected the transaction that funded both 84'/0'/0'/0/9 AND the change address 84'/0'/0'/1/1

Soooo... Basically, i ended up with wasabi telling me i have a wallet with 0.00129791 tBTC, 2 unspent outputs from one transaction... While electrum tells me this wallet is funded with 5.57983242 tBTC, 6 unspent outputs funding  6 addresses (including 2 change addresses).

If i close wasabi and re-open it, i'm sure that wasabi will tell me i have an empty wallet (already tested this a couple times before to confirm the behaviour).

1814  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Safest Wallet for BTC without Fee on: January 21, 2020, 09:29:58 AM
There are 2 kinds of fees: fees payed to the wallet developer and fees you pay to the miner to give them an incentive to include your transaction into the block they're currently trying to solve.

AFAIK, there are no popular wallets left that charge a fee that goes to the developer. However, every wallet will add a miner's fee to every transaction you make, simply because a transaction without a fee doesn't get propagated trough the network anymore, and even if it did: no miner would add it to the block they're trying to solve.

Examples of good wallets:
- trezor (any model)
- ledger (any model)
- bitcoin core
- electrum
- https://www.bitaddress.org/

Do realise that if you keep your funds in an ONLINE wallet, or an EXCHANGE, they DO sometimes ask extra fees that go to them (and are not used to pay the miners). This isn't even the worst part of using an online or exchange wallet... The worst part is that you're not in controll of your keys, so you're not in controll of your funds...

Hi,

I tried this page, get the same error message:  "ERROR could not get sync information[object Object]". Probably something wrong between their node's json-rpc api and their frontend?

I have no clue if this happens often, just switch to one of the other block explorers if it bothers you...

https://blockchair.com/
https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/
https://www.smartbit.com.au/
https://www.blockchain.com/
https://btc.com/
...

blockexplorer is just a private person/company that's running one or more nodes and uses the information provided by querying this node to provide a block explorer. It's not the "default" page, nothing is wrong with the network if this page isn't working properly Smiley

Whenever i see a brand new account that only made  posts in order to tell the forum how great a certain service worked for them, only one thing pops to mind: This is either the owner or somebody payed by the owner for the sole purpose of being able to spam the link to his/her service without getting banned for spamming.

If this is your service: please create a proper [ANN] thread instead of posing as a newbie to promote your link.

What i see (so far):
  • no cloudflare Smiley
  • link to tor is broken... "Visit us on TOR", but no tor uri...
  • i can't create a session to test anything... I'm greated with the message: "Please match the requested format" when i enter an amount... Nowhere to find which format is requested tough.. I just followed the placeholder format, but that seems to be incorrect. EDIT: i finally figured out i had to pad the float with 0's...
  • no letter of guarantee
  • i'm dyslectic, but the grammar errors hurt my eyes...
1817  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Update check failed? on: January 20, 2020, 12:19:41 PM
The url where electrum fetches the latest version is hardcoded:

https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/blob/a3e522efd968686a32cbf715e4ac91f531c5deca/electrum/gui/qt/update_checker.py#L22

Can you try opening https://electrum.org/version using your normal browser? You should be prompted to download the file 'version'. If you open this file using an ascii editor (like notepad++, vim,...) you should see a json string containing (amonst others) the current latest version.

If this doesn't work, you know what to investigate... If this works properly, the problem must be something else, for example: are you using the tor proxy?
1818  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can Negative Trust and Trust Flag get removed? on: January 16, 2020, 12:26:22 PM
--snip--
So I wanna ask, is there something way to correct the mistakes to remove the negative trust?
--snip--

you already answered your own question: nope

Only the person that give you negative trust can remove it... There are a couple alternatives tough:
  • you can change your attitude anyways and hope the person who gave you negative trust decides to remove it
  • somebody from DT can take pitty on you and decide to counter the negative trust by giving you positive trust... The negative won't dissapear, but at least your trustwall won't look all shiny red.
  • If it's a DT2 member, you can PM the DT1 member who added the DT2 member to their trustlist, explain your situation and ask them to remove the DT2 member from their trustlist
  • If it's a DT1 member, you can try to find a couple other DT1 members that are sympathetic to your situation and decide to exclude the DT1 member that tagged you
  • in VERY rare cases of EXTREME trustspam, Theymos sometimes decides to remove the trust spam from a spammer... But this is very, very, very rare

Otherwise, it's just bad luck...

However, i don't agree that you should act like DT members are sent by the gods, are always fair and never make mistakes... Cause they do, and people get tagged for unfair things.
Personally, i got tagged by a dude that posted a grand total of 3 posts in 2019 and none in 2020 (so far). By some sheer bad luck, somebody who had this person in his trustlist from back when he was more active got promoted to DT1 a couple weeks ago (this new DT1 member is actually a good dude, so i think he deserved his spot in DT1), so now i have a negative tag from a DT2 member. The whole situation revolved about me asking basic information i needed to help somebody who got his transaction stuck (i asked for transactionid's and which wallet software they used to help them do a CPFP or something like that). This new DT2 member never talked to me in any way, just started bitching about me in locked threads (labeling me the most dangerous person on bitcointalk on several occasions) and tagged me red.

There isn't a damn thing i can do about it... So, just continue and do good things. Sooner or later somebody that you've done good things for will see your trustlist and think "that negative tag is unfair, i'll counter it with a positive tag" (in my case, that's what DarkStar_ did Smiley )
1819  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Chineese, Korean, Spanish translation on: January 16, 2020, 11:58:44 AM
Agree with you absolutely. BCShop supports 3rd party arbiters. Respected bitcointalk members are very welcomed as arbiters. They can earn % of commission for every deal they moderate no matter if there were dispute between parties on not.

Separate post about arbiters is coming next week.

Thank you, Ruso21.

Since you already have your  translators (which was the initial setup for this thread), i wondered if we might discuss the escrow and arbiter situation in respect to this request a bit more, cause the answers already given by two representatives of bcshop didn't reassure me.

As far as i see things, there are 3 options:
  • 1) There are plenty of KYC'able (or highly trusted) arbiters on your site and the escrowed funds are helt in THEIR wallets
  • 2) There are plenty of KYC'able (or highly trusted) arbiters on your site and the escrowed funds are helt in a wallet that belongs to your shop
  • 3) There are no KYC'able (or highly trusted) arbiters on your site, only you, the OP and people you personally know (in this case it doesn't even matter if the funds are helt in a wallet belonging to the escrow or to the "friend" of the owner.

Let me be perfectly clear: only if it's option 1 (trusted or KYC'able thirth party escrows that hold the buyer's funds in their own, private, not-known-to-bcshop, wallet) it is borderline acceptable for a shop owner to suggest using his own escrow service for services he wants to buy.

Let's translate this business transaction into a real-world, physical fiat to goods transaction.
The initial setup: you are somebody who has €90.000 in his bank account and you're searching for an investment opportunity. One day, you read the classifieds and somebody you don't know is offering 2.2 Kg's of 24 carat gold bars @€90.000. Since this is under spot price you decide to setup a deal with this guy, however, since you don't know a single thing about gold, you'll need to get your hands on the gold to get is verified by a gold specialist. You decide to use cash.

The translation of this initial case to the 3 options i gave above
  • 1) The both of you meet up with a verified official notary. This guy has been around for ages and holds several millions of euro's in escrow for home buyers at any point in time. No negative reports about him have been filed (ever). Altough his office is located in a building that's owned by the seller, he uses a bankvault that's not controlled by the seller. You give your money to the notary, the seller gives the gold to you, and once you get the gold verified the notary releases your €90.000 to the seller. If something goes wrong, neither you nor the seller can run with the money, it's a trusted, unbiased thirth party that examines the case and decides wether to return the money to the buyer, or give it to the seller
  • 2) The both of you meet up with a verified official notary. This guy has been around for ages and holds several millions of euro's in escrow for home buyers at any point in time. No negative reports about him have been filed (ever). However, instead of giving the money to the notary, you give the money to the seller who pinky promises that if you get the gold checked out and it turns out to be fake, he'll follow the notary's recommandation wether or not to return the funds he now has in his own pocket... You see the difference with option 1? How will the notary enforce this? Sure, if a courtcase follows, you'll have a good witness, but there is no way (as a buyer) to get your funds back...
  • 3) You don't meet up with a notary, but instead the SELLER brings one of his friends to "escrow" the deal. You have to hand over your hard-earned cash to the seller (or to his friend) and they put it in their pocket before handing over the unverified gold bars. If you get the gold checkout and it turns out to be false, the FRIEND of the SELLER pinky promises he'll be unbiased when he tries to convince his buddy to give you your money back

Can you see why this is highly questionable?

It's an old "problem" that has been discussed/solved many times before

for example: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2864522.0
or if that thread doesn't solve your problem, try a forum search: https://cse.google.com/cse?cx=016660200577587308545%3Aesf40ml9aag&ie=UTF-8&q=api-ms-win-crt-runtime&sa=Google+search#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=api-ms-win-crt-runtime&gsc.page=1

Like Royse777 said: don't run old versions... There's a reason newer versions were released. Some older versions have serious critical vulnerability's that are still actively exploited. Some older versions won't even connect to recent electrum nodes at all...
