When is next Alpha build with bug fix coming? & source for alpha already available?

No ETA on next build. Source won't be available for a while. IMO, Source of NEM must be closed for at least half of year after NEM release! We are all so tired from many clones... But... may be clones-this is good way to promote(some kind of marketing) real NEM? I said earlier, and I still maintain that this is the wrong approach. The source should be open, and we will beat the competition by having a superior ecosystem. no, we do not need clones beafore NEM goes out Open Source before launch doesn't make much sense. It's also safer for the entire world. Noone should be able to use unfisnished code to make a clone of NEM. Them having network problems might reflect badly on NEM since it' supposedly a clone. Look at NAS. According to Jean-Luc they used unfinished, not production ready code. Now it has followers that were all hoping to be part of a great coin. Many take Linux open source development as a model but I don't think Linux development has an equivalent in crypto even in Bitcoin. Mike Hearn just said Bitcoin core development has come to a halt with only Gavin develops something. The difference is that a helper in Linux knowing they are doing for the good of the humanity; the same thing cannot be said for any single coin. People can feel good about helping crypto movement in general but why should they pick a particular coin whether it is bitcoin, litecoin, doge or nem ? So rationally if a developer has an interest in nem technical development but has no allegiance to nem, he will just clone the source and make his own developments and IPO. On the other hand, clones are not that bad and historically clones can work to advertise the main currency. It is more worrying that a good competitor copy the ideas and implement them in their own system. This 2 gen. crypto market is packed with coins with some legitimate developments: qora, nxt, nxt lite, nfd, exo, noir, cripti, nhz etc. if it is now difficult to see a differentiator between all of them. Haven't looked closely at all of them but nxtl aka Node has nothing to do with NXT anymore and qory supposedly uses a different POS algo. |

99 designs and problem is solved. It's concerning that a logo is causing this much of an issue.
Goes to show there will be problems with marketing. Could be wrong, but seems to be that all signs are pointing in that direction.
That was the plan all along. Either a contest on 99d or hiring a firm for the entire branding. The only problem is people make a huge fuzz about it because they don't get that it's interim. What's concerning to me is where the community seems to be going right now but I could be wrong about that as well... |

Give me a fullscreen screenshot of you being logged into the account, showing the bann message. M not able to login it, since the password has been changed by the hacker. I just told the mods to banned my account so that no1 can have access to it. I have trusted member in the btt community who can vouch for me and those ppl have my personal account details and everything. To prove more, i can send some NXT from the account where i have received my NEMstake. U just provide me any NXT address and i will send some nxt to prove it. As of now. This is an alpha. POI is the first innovation. There's also the node reputationsystem that uses Eigentrust++.
Imho the client is nothing like NXTs but that's probably subjective.
There is no proof that POI is vulnderable to a sybill attack. It has been brought up several times but that's just because there is no whitepaper on POI yet so people don't know how it works and are making assumptions.
There is no proof, correct. But you can't seriously expect attackers to try any attack until NEM is on the real blockchain with real money involved. Until NEM is on the real blockchain, we can't know for sure if it's vulnerable or not. The longer it is on the real blockchain, the more trust it gains among users and the more people invest. I asked here how long NXT should run before it's considered as secure as Bitcoin. I hardly got any replies. Personally, I give it 1 year. 1 year on a real blockchain ensures the most obvious flaws have been taken care of. I'd go so far as to say no coin can ever be considere 100% secure. Shit just happens. Maybe a vuln becomes possible through technological advance...we can never know. |

I don't know was that really good decision but NEMtoken in coinmarketcap, price seems decline step by step and alpha have not covienced markets :/
Any real Innovations or just similar client with NXT?
For an alpha software with limited functions running on a test net, and PoI not yet proven to be reliable, the price of NEM is too high as it is, so some price correction would be normal, perhaps even a significant one. After all, most people have already bought, those who believe in PoS, but the PoW crowd is hard to convince to invest into anything but PoW. The only real innovation which has yet to prove it's not susceptible to Sybil attack is PoI. Other than that, perhaps a couple minor improvements in interface over NXT, which NXT can easily copy. I have a feature request.
When sending NEM, can the account balance of the receive account be displayed?
Or maybe a warning that account you are sending to has a zero balance?
It might help verify that the address you entered is correct.
Should be possible but remember that this isn't NXT. Addresses are a) more recognizable and b) afaik validated. Of course you could still send to a wrong address but it should be less of a problem imho. |

Who decided on the five logos to choose from? You? Could you be constructive? I think these choices are representatives and feel free to propose an addition. I want to ask the very same question as cryptocoin12. There are like 10 logos around - why did you choose those ? There will be an official vote but it will include ALL logos except the ones that have been removed because of following reason: - flat out stolen - no effort what so ever i.e looked like a 3 yr old made them in mspaint - didn't represent NEM at all. Enjoy the alpha people. Give feedback ! That'd be constructive. I also like the logo with the cube but how does it represent NEM other then spelling it? What does the cube have to do with a new economy ? Has anyone even read the explanation of the logo that everyone seems to hate or did all of you just go on to bash it ? I'd very much like to have a logo that means something. That would imho stand out more than something that just looks neat. I'd like a symbol not just a logo. In the end the community will decide but think about what i said |

Is this a serious discussion or trolling ? Just in case I'll provide my thoughts. In PoS the rich get richer. That's true and there's no denying that. However in PoW the rich get richer too. The more money you have the more you can put into mining and the more you will earn. Also in a world where we have to minimize CO2 output as much as possible how can we justify wasting all this engery if we don't have to ? http://www.coindesk.com/microscope-economic-environmental-costs-bitcoin-mining/ You're actually using the 51% attack as an argument against PoS when bitcoiners have to depend on the mercy of pools ? PoS is not a perfect solution and is being improved right now with multiple approaches like POSV and POI but it sure as hell is better than PoW. |
