couldn't find the "Picture of your mining farm" thread so i guess this will do.

phase 1

What is that, 100 TH/s ?  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Very nice, dude!

Its funny to look at that then go to the activemining thread where they promised 170TH but cant seem to pass 100TH because of cooling and power issues. All while using hardware they produced/sell and is 20% more efficient than the dragons
http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1DJpsvnM7xTnQbWEhLYyCyfxQyxwupEzCa

that dragon farm looks sweet, and is truly the new ASIC porn Smiley

Not on the website yet, but Rockxie announced it on the official Rockminer thread:

Update

RK-BOX specs:

Prototype is testing now, here is pics:

First batch production will be done on 24th,and shipping date will be 25th,email sales@rockminer.com or PM me to get more infos.

Thanks for your support.

ugly POS
1) uses USB port
2) uses 3 more USB ports
3) this wont stack vertically or horizontally with all the wires coming out at terrible angles
4) surely the back heatsink plate is obstructing enough air thats its causing excess fan work/noise (?)
1823  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: June 11, 2014, 11:07:23 PM
zvisha has been helping me out the last day or so with troubleshooting and getting some temporarily-lost stability back to the miner, however, i am still having some slight issues:

1) fans at 70% used to be fine but as of today sounded terrible. ive soundproofed somewhat and reduced to 60%, but its still a similar volume to what an unmuffled 60% would have sounded like last week. Without a dB meter i could be crazy though - getting this in a DC is top priority. the unit also has very slight vibrations that go away if i put a few pounds of pressure on the middle back edge of the lid.

2) The unit seems to always have a 10% or higher (right now, its about 16%!) error rate, even after hours of operation, temperatures of 26/77C, and most of the chips at 77C with a few at 113C.  Miner says 1.41Th while the pool says 1.25-1.3TH.  What is the accepted/error ratio for others?

the product is excellent, but it needs to be operated in a datacenter or somewhere that the fans running at 90-100% wont burst eardrums. I would really love to see the SP10 fit in an SP30 case to better dissipate the heat and use bigger/quieter fans.  Most DC racks cant handle anywhere near the 40-50kW draw that the SP10 and SP30 models enable
1824  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 11, 2014, 10:53:41 PM
No miner is under 1W/GH so the range isn't so wide for better efficiency.

Did you not see the new opensource miner from friedcat?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641957.20

0.85w/gh excluding psu loss.

Also the chips are clocked at 8gh/s so there is a good chance this is not the max efficiency.

How can you use 0.85w/gh if you don't have a psu? How much is the loss for the PSU? 20%? That means it will be 1.02w/gh. And that's only friedcat claim. I'm waiting for real live proof because we can all claim a lot of stuff.

By this logic SP10 is just 0.58w/gh if we exclude all losses!

psu is about a 10-15% efficiency loss
1825  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining difficulty slowing down over the next 3 months? on: June 11, 2014, 11:14:57 AM
A  Big chunk of the profits being mined are re-invested into more equipment to offset the rising hashrate.  But the initial investment is not 100% recouped.

Mining bitcoins at home, for people who are capable only of low investments, is almost ended because of the small or null ROI they can have.

I disagree. at-home miners have a few big advantages:
1) free space (garage, basement, shed, etc). larger miners have rental locations and costs as such
2) "free" internet
3) 'free' wintertime heating (a large location will still be fighting to keep cool even in the winter)
4) no oversight or employee costs

IMO, mining at home can be more profitable than it is running a medium-sized farm. Ive personally had to move 8.5kW of my gear into a rental agreement to access enough power and space to run it outside the house. To go any bigger I am looking at a $500-1000/month rental elsewhere plus whatever costs are involved in adding AC/wiring/transformers to make it a useful space.

a lot also comes down to power costs, and anyone who pays less than $0.15/kWh has significant advantages over miners in many countries and US states

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/1DJpsvnM7xTnQbWEhLYyCyfxQyxwupEzCa

Several significant hashrate drops, two in the last two days. The farm that was originally proposed as 170TH and trimmed down to 120TH promises has been averaging less than 80TH for hours now and 100TH has not yet been passed supposedly.
1828  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and tinned ends - great for server PSU mods on: June 10, 2014, 03:05:25 AM
Can you make these with a male plug on one end and a female plug on the other? Interested in some for extensions.
same

I don't se why not, but it may not be until next batch.   The Y-splitters may act well as extensions
1829  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup [HD] on: June 10, 2014, 02:52:12 AM
Zvisha,

There are plenty of devices that draw > 1200W at the wall on 110V.  Teapots and heaters to name a few.  I suspect the difference is that these items aren't running 24/7/365.

1320W at the wall should be fine for any 110V home with a standard (15A * 110V * 15A * .8 (safety margin) = 1320W

More and more newer homes are actually coming with 20A circuits...

not many though.

IMO the SP10 and SP30 units are built more with datacenter than spare bedroom in mind. They are loud and create a lot of heat, in fact the 1200W draw can be more than what the majority of PC power cables are rated for (10A).  If you are able to operate these at home, it may be worth the work required to either install a new 240V circuit for your equipment or to even simply swap an existing 120V circuit's (with only one dedicated outlet) breaker and outlet for a 240V one. Wiring can remain the same in most cases.

208/240V is more efficient and puts a lot less strain on the power supply - the sondoolies machine is a long-term investment/installation.
1830  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and tinned ends - great for server PSU mods on: June 09, 2014, 02:54:49 AM
I I just got pricing for a new batch of 24" 16awg wires with 0.75cm stripped ends - in bulk I can do 50/$90 or 100/$160, plus shipping (around $25 4-7day ground or $45 and its 2-3 day express, but i would have to confirm the exact weight/cost.  I can probably be reshipping next week, likely by tuesday.

I can also order Y-splitters made with 18awg (M-F-M) for 10/$25, 25/$40.

I am also selling smaller quantities at the same pricing model as the 30cm/1' cords, so consider the extra 1' length a feature of having a more dedicated bulk customer base Wink

This company's rating has changed in the Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide.

Z- : BFL         laughed pretty hard at this, while grimly knowing it is true
1832  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: June 07, 2014, 01:44:56 AM
I dont like how they just adjusted 1 unit = 4 @ 600ghs when it was 1 unit = 2 @ 600ghs.  But I guess thats what we were assuming it was and never got a clear answer. Roll Eyes

4 pieces running in the summer is a lot of heat for a home owner not going to happen in my house/garage.

try 8kW... Im trying to figutre out he next step
1833  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Capacitor repair on an Antminer S1 board? on: June 06, 2014, 12:07:54 AM
the S1 will run fine without that capacitor, but you may need to treat it special in order to get it to power up okay.

1) power up unit normally.
2) if there are a few non-working chips (there likely will be), reboot the miner but leave the PSU on
3) the miner will reboot and the power will be stable enough in other capacitors that all the chips read up fine.

I have a unit missing that cap (i found it in the box after) and its running fine stock without doing any repairs just using the above method
1834  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Technobit Hex2G GoldStrike based 2 chip miner 1 Ths on: June 06, 2014, 12:04:21 AM
8 PCIe ports? why??  Shouldn't this board only require ~700W?  That could be delivered by 4 PCIe sockets quite easily, and the current layout will make unplugging the cables a PITA
1835  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Kit, sales price changes daily, now $2247 per Kit on: June 05, 2014, 01:06:26 AM
The SP10 is such a crappy deal compared to the Antminer S2

Yep, their reluctance (or greed) to reduce the price while everyone was pissed off with BM has cost them greatly. What's better, sell 1 miner for $500 profit or 10 miners for $200 profit... spondoolies definitlely missed the boat here...

Curious how you both think the S2 is a better deal

Price
S2:    $2359, 1000GH = $2.36 per GH
SP10: $2795, 1400GH = $2.00 per GH

Power
S2:    1000 GH, 1000W = 1w/GH
SP10: 1400 GH, 1200W = 0.85w/GH

PS Both are beaten on price by the A1 clones, which can be had for around $1800, or $1.80 per GH (if only all the dealers weren't sketchy)
Does the Spondoolies price include shipping?

I also heard that the 1.4TH/s is very dependent on your power setup, but I haven't checked in to the accuracy of this claim.

its close to $200 to ship the SP10, and realistic values are closer to 1.25TH on 120V and 1.4TH on 208/240V. It is also the volume of a blow dryer when running. The design itself and the efficiency is terrific on it though Smiley   DC usage with 208V is ideal
1836  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Custom Built Mining Shed on: June 03, 2014, 11:01:14 AM
How does this hold up in heavy rain? I see the insulation but between the dog door and vents I'm sure moisture gets in there. Do you run any dehumidifiers or anything like that?

the AC is partially a dehumidifier - it may only have a small effect though.  However the heat of the shed should ensure any moisture stays in the air and does not condense at all.
1837  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: June 03, 2014, 10:57:17 AM
Hi all.
Please help: my Ant S1 has stopped work exactly after 3 months.

In Miner Status I constantly see ''This section contains no values yet''. Fan is working, but slowlier than it used to. Miner configuration: as always, I didn't change anything.  In Overview I see from 3 to 16 connections (0%). There is connection to the internet (Ant do not beep). Green light in the middle of the first blade flashing (the blade, where is connector for ethernet cable).
I tried: Switch off and on several times. Clean it from dust. Reboot system.
What else should I try? Thank you.

eligius is in fail-safe and seems totally down.  try adding a backup pool in case its your pool and not the miner
1838  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: June 03, 2014, 10:48:51 AM
Ken,

-Will the company continue?

-Why is the company in a good position?

Yes, this is just a bump in the road.

yes, virtually having your business entirely halted by the MSD (at least short term) is only a small bump. Like DTS says youll certainly be shipping products on time and operating a 500TH farm any day now once you pay out hundreds of thousands (millions even?) to the investors you shammed and pay fines to the state because you are a known repeat offender in terms of shady business practice.

IMO theres a chance that the MSD will fully dissolve your companIES (VMC included) to refund your customers and pay your debts. They can clearly see the shell game you have played (particularly with VMC != ACTM    and shares != direct ownership of the IPO). In the bitcoin world it IS possible to have extremely concise and simple accounting/auditing but ACTM has not done so. Financials will soon be two months late, nobody knows how much the farm cost, how much you lost to eASIC, and how much you lost on mtgox. Even then, expect to provide full and acurate accounting of these losses so that it can be clear that ACTM/VMC funds were not used on exorbitant self-income or directed into personal accounts.

1840  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio - Shipping from stock on: June 03, 2014, 02:25:41 AM
How many watts do you pull with that config? May batch?

Well, if the stats aren't lying it's 1100 watts.  Late May purchase through RoadStress' group buy.  Running it on the default "low" settings, I get about 1.23TH/s at about 900W.  So, I effectively gained about 90GH/s for 200 watts - which is why I'm asking if there are some better ways to tweak things.  I'm hoping to pull about 1.4 - 1.45TH/s at 1100 watts.

power supplies are more efficient on 200V or higher - thats why 1100W is the limit of 120V but 208/240V can provide 1250W. This extra 150W is needed to clear the gap between ~1.3Th and 1.4TH.  even then 1.45TH+ is likely not achievable without setting fans to 80%+ and/or using a cold intake temperature
