1381  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] AntMiner S1 x 20 & S3 x 4 on: November 12, 2014, 03:22:33 AM
I would be interested in the boards of all 20 S1 units, shipped to canada. You can keep or sell the heavy aluminum heatsinks for a few bucks each and it reduces shipping cost.

Id offer 0.7BTC for the lot, shipping included
1382  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Antminer S1, S2, S3, S4 units - Toronto, ON, Canada on: November 12, 2014, 03:19:03 AM
looking to find these for the right price, and can buy them locally in-person, or have them shipped to me.

S1: 0.07 BTC
S2: (with PSU): 0.8 BTC
      (w/o PSU): 0.65 BTC
S3: 0.4 BTC
S4: 1.8 BTC

im looking for 6-10kW worth of gear, and hopefully bundling several units for a slight discount.
1383  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] S1, S3, and power supplies Canada/US on: November 12, 2014, 03:12:38 AM
West coast GVRD

whats the shipping costs like to send all the S1/S3 units to Toronto, ON? I might be interested

up to the top of the pile - plenty still for sale, and Im working on making a kit that can be easily used with a 2100W IBM server PSU
1385  Economy / Securities / Re: AMHash1: Cost-Effective Mining Contract on: November 12, 2014, 02:18:28 AM
More anger from a sad AM shareholder and more bad decisions made by the AM team. Go AM go! To da moon!
didnt i see you multiple times in the last two days spouting off in the Spondoolies thread about some asicminer shill who keeps dropping in to make unproductive comments?
Again coming here after I poke AM in their thread. I should make a counter for this. This is the fourth time Smiley

@mabsark: not sure why you call me an idiot - i said nothing about AM reducing the GH value of a share by adding more - I said they were doing it by creating a second IPO that is  4% lower in price only days after the first IPO (and difficulty change has been less than that during this time), effectively underselling the buyers of the first IPO.

The rest of my comment related to the fact that the IPO for AMHash2 is actually a direct copy/paste of the AMHash1 IPO. In the details, "amhash1" and a price of "0.00125" / "1.25" are repeated several times with zero effort to make the ipo distinct.  https://www.havelockinvestments.com/fund.php?symbol=AMHASH2  if you want to see yourself.

finally, its probably safe to assume that AMHash1 and AMHash2 will not be freely interchangable - so rather than actually building to the promised 5PH in AMHash1, you will now see people pointlessly trying to arbitrage against AMHash2, since both assets have the exact same value (1GH) but different prices.
1386  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 11, 2014, 08:43:01 PM

I stopped arguing with that idiot long time ago. Hes too fcking dumb to understand this simple concept. Infact i say most noobs buying hardware right now are actually expecting BTC price to rise in order for ROI.

Not sure why the aggression. I am not advocating hardware purchase to everyone, but it shouldn't be a surprise that hardware is clearly being sold to people in areas of cheap electricity (<$0.10/kwh) and/or those who are very bullish on their calculations of roi regarding the future bitcoin value and hashrate.

Personally, I pay $0.14/kwh and have not purchased hardware in the last two months. In fact, I've been liquidating much of my hashrate due to the good resale value in BTC
1387  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 11, 2014, 05:28:48 PM
price is still too high, there is no roi here.

Hardware = $800 (including power supply)
Profitability decline per year = 0.1 (only <8% decline per period, very conservative)
Power = 1200W @0.15

Still come back with a negative $ after 12 months. It's basic math, i dont understand why people continue to buy those overpriced hardware, host them, run them, when they wont make any money for you.

Try your math again with $0.10 power - not everyone pays $0.15/kwh or more. Other assumptions like difficulty jumps <6% or increasing bitcoin value also affect the calculations. Its unlikely we will still have a $400 bitcoin in a year from now.

btc/usd increase or decrease is irrelevant to mining profitability calculations, i am surprised as a hero member, you dont understand this basic principal of mining.

It has a lot to do with it. Let's take a fictional scenario where a miner costs 1btc and over a 12month period produces 2btc while using up $400 in electricity. You effectively break even if bitcoin price stays put at $400 from now to then.

What if bitcoin goes to $1200 (3x value)? At the end of the year your roi will be (2-1btc)-$400. That's effectively a $800 positive roi. On top of that, it's likely the miner could continue to mine profitably at that price for a few more months, maybe another $100 added to the ROI. *for those who say this is why to buy and hold, if you bought 1btc at $400, after the year you would have $1200 in btc, a gain of $800 (bitcoin going more than $1200 would make mining more profitable than holding)*

Granted, an increase like that in bitcoin price would likely result in a larger difficulty rise as 1-2w/gh equipment resumes mining profitably, and other various factors - but the point us that roi is effectively based on a (bitcoin(x1) - bitcoin(x0)) - dollar(y) equation, so the value of bitcoin is very important. Its all a lot of speculation, but so is trying to estimate difficulty increases

new SP20 price! $795
with discount code and shipping of 2 units (3.4TH): 4.5 BTC

7* bitmain S3+ units (3.4 TH) with coupons and shipping this week = 4.7 BTC
4* Bitmain C1 (4TH) with watercooling and shipping this week = 5.3 BTC   (4.64 for 3.5TH)

wrong math

1x SP20 price! $795+shipping   1700GH/s
2x C1 price   $800+shipping    2000GH/s

Which one is more GH/s ?

Which one requires extra components not mentioned in the price?
@tupsu: look at my math, i did a cost basis at 3.4th (as that means better shipping$/gh) and then adjusted the 4th pricing of c1 miners to be based on 3.5th (similar to 7*s3+ units)
The resulting price was very similar for all 3 options.

@bickelliski: the c1 b2 comes with the cooling kit now. All that you need different from the sp20 is some cooling fluid and a bigger space to set up units and radiators. That's $5-20 depending whether using distilled water or a specialized coolant

S3+: takes up most space, reasonably quiet
C1: takes up medium amount of space, cooling system is easily reusable on a computer or the next gen c2, similar noise to s3 (due to fan on unit and fans in rad), some issues with pump leaks or failures.
Sp20: smallest, best software (debatable of course), better price, loudest option.

Imo, the sp20 is a tempting offer in comparison, but the noise and low buying power of. A bitcoin right now are holding me back. Anyone managed to sub in quieter fans to make this acceptable for living in the same floor of a house with?

Ps: the s5 is total rumor outside of a random magazine advert. I think there will be one soon, but the nov15 date is unsubstantiated by bitmain (outside of a random magazine advert)

new SP20 price! $795
If it was shipping today it would probably be an easy sale, but November 18 is 5 weeks away, or about 3 difficulty increases (~25% cumulative increase?)

It is 11th of November.

5 weeks?

Did I read the email wrong. It did say shipping on the 18th not available for purchase?

Color me confused.

colour me confused - i thought it was october...?

ive edited my post due to this revelation

Antminer S1s with standard cp2102 usb to TTL serial connections, undervolted, underclocked:

I really like the stack, and 1.2W/GH from that is pretty impressive!
you might find some advantage to run the boards vertically oriented rather than horizontally - it will better force heat upwards and out
the plan is to get all my leftover boards done, and put them vertically into a case, this is just my test bench setup :-p

and we are working to get the watt/GH ratio downward even more :-p

sounds great - Im sure 1w/GH can be easily achieved, perhaps even 0.9w/GH - if you reduce the speed of each board to about 50GH with a bit more underclocking.

counter-intuitively, you might actually have better luck underclocking/undervolting if you don't cool it excessively. Its been seen in several different types of ASIC chips (spondoolies and bitfury for sure) that having the board temps above 40C sometimes provides better hashrates and stability then over-cooling the boards <35C

Nice setup! I'm very impressed! I don't think you will run into any problems, but if you do, this thread isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Thank you!

I will be running four (4) 30 AMP circuits this week to prepare for S4's.  These circuits require 10/3 wiring and 30 AMP receptacle.  I will also use a special cord to plug in two (2) S4's into one 30 AMP circuit.

why are you using 125V wires though? 250V (or 220v more likely) is slighlty safer and more power-efficient to use.

Hi People.

Can i replace original fans with this one?

http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fans/glidestream-120.html

I want more silence inside my home...xDDD And the Winter is coming...xD Less rpms and noise, more heat inside my home.

I will check the temperatures not going up to 50 degrees or more...

Thanks in advance.

They likely won't be sufficient for cooling and you'll see lower hashrate or errors. You need at least 120cfm, 150cfm ideally

The s3 already has some pretty topnotch fans for airflow/noise ratio

Price announced for AMHash2: 0.0012. 500,000 units available
1) available tomorrow, they just screwed over all the amhash1 ipo buyers
2) it's a 500th cloud, that rather than be another ipo round in amhash1, decided to be a seperate fund for no good reason.
3) the ipo is entirely copied and pasted from amhash1. pricing, 5ph claim, everything is a total copy and paste job under the guise of a new asset.

This is total nonsense. Glad I passed on the first round, since these guys have no clue what they are doing
1397  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Cooled Miner C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: November 10, 2014, 02:07:00 PM
I used ground water cooling.  Water force:0.1Mpa, September run to now.
Noob, if you use well water, dont do direct heat exchanging. You will fuck up your waterblock and contaminate the water vein.
Do it right and do non direct heat exchanging. You can keep your waterblook alot longer with proper coolant too.
Run three consecutive months, No problem, As long as no copper, Only plastic and aluminum, is ok
I like your setup - very clever use of water, and (unlike seriouscoins concern) isnt going to contaminate anything, other than perhaps EXTREMELY limited traces of aluminum or PVC being put into the water.

however, you could see some calcium or lime scaling of the C1 heatsinks over a long period of time - though it would likely take 6+ months to build up noticably.

what temperature is the inlet/outlet, and do you use the hot water created for useful purpose, or just soaking back into the ground?
1398  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: UPS shipping fiasco on: November 10, 2014, 01:59:37 PM
I ordered two Antminer S3+ units for delivery to Thailand. The only shipping option was UPS. Both units were shipped last Wednesday. They both came to Thailand on Friday but only one was delivered. Apparently, one unit was left on the plane and went on quite an odyssey. UPS didn't even apologize for their screw-up. So here is the journey one of the units took. For a journey that should have been about 1,733 Km the package traveled approximately 24,146 Km (15,004 miles). I am glad I finally got it today. There was gash that cut through the box but the inner foam protected the unit. Right now it is hashing and seems to be working per specs.

I received today my Trezor but it doesn't work.  Sad

I connected the Trezor to the computer, a padlock is shown in Trezor's screen. I installed the plugin and allowed firefox and chrome to run it. But all the time I see the same: "Connect your TREZOR device to the computer."

I tried with differents computers, Windows 7, Windows XP. 4 Differents USB cables. Restarted. And nothing.

This is my log:

["error","Mon, 10 Nov 2014 13:32:41 GMT","[app] Loading http transport failed",{"cors":"rejected"}]
["log","Mon, 10 Nov 2014 13:32:41 GMT","[trezor] Loaded plugin 1.0.5"]

try with a different USB cable. sometimes thats the issue and causes the trezor connection to cut in and out

Pretty sure new from Mike they cost more than 1.4BTC

depends when you bought them. In the final few weeks of his shop being open, these actually fell to under 1.1BTC each (in a roll).
