Anybody who has been at this a while can spot a coin that has major future potential easily, people running server farms are generally very good at this too.  If I had a server farm this is where I'd be pointing it at without a doubt in my mind.
Exactly. This is an evidence of long term potetnial that som uch people are mining it, trolling it or even trying to relaunch it.

I'm getting similar:

Failed to get block1

Run a "save" command in BMR or BCN daemon (depends on which one you're running).
Hit save one both MRO. No change.

you could do it with amazon payments. max 1000 dollars no fees attached.
You made me think: use VirWox.

Beware, 10% fees and PayPal required

Buy Linden dollars with your dollars (via PayPal)
Convert Linden to BTC
(this takes less than 5 minutes)

Then place a buy order and ask smooth to be escrow (or contact me but I sell only 65 and at higher than current price, so right now I am not a bargain).
VirWox takes 24 hours for verification in case of a new account
Ouch. Sorry then.

What I can propose you is this: if the price goes above my initial selling price once you get bitcoin. I commit to NOT sell it and leave it to you, emontmon. So, if by the time you can buy, it is less than 0.0016, by all means buy! if it is more than 0.0016, you will have my 65 MRO waiting for you. Just be so kind as to tell me if you buy them cheaper, so that I will make them available for someone else.

Wow, I just saw that. I agree with tacotime, it looks intentional.
So you mean the BCN engine was curbed all this time, and they just add to remove it to artificially increase it?

That's disgusting.
regarding cryptonotes comment about greed. this should be posted for them.
From what I understood, source code is Bytecoin, not CryptoNote. According to what CN forum says, Bytecoin is a splintergroup of Cryptnote. I doubt CN should be held liable for anything related to source-code - CN is mostly the theoretical work and white paper, BCN the actual implementation.

Sorry for the delay. Finally got a bit of sleep. Will be updating this shortly.
Thanks. You missed a lot of action. Take two hours to read it all Smiley

It appears from the simplicity of the fix that there may have been deliberate crippling of the hashing algorithm from introduction with ByteCoin.
Interesting. Could you extrapolate on this?
oaes_key_import_data calls are placed inside loops unnecessarily, which slows down the hash quite a bit during the scratchpad portions.
Thanks. Makes sense, even if I don't know what oaes_key_import_data call are. Which proves that you are good a simplifying!

Would like to buy but I have no bitcoin. Any suggestions. How many Mro coul 100 dollars buy.
100 dollars is 0.225 BTC. So a bit more than 200 MRO at present price (check OTC trade). Consider the wire transfer fees too.
I would happily sell you (at a higher price and only 65 MRO, though) but I do not live in the US.

Could I have a rundown of what is going on? It seems like there have been some issue here, like sharexcoin.

I am willing to buy because I was just 6 hours late to get my share of sharecoin.

Where this screenshot comes from? Which market?
1834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BMR vs MRO. Time to make it fair. on: May 07, 2014, 06:03:20 PM
Wow so many Bytecoin fans here lol. I would like to see those who are voting BitMonero post here too. Would be interesting to see why folks are voting the way they are but I can understand privacy too. I voted Monero (d'oh  Cool)
Why do I have the feeling that closely before the end of the 24 hours period, they will coincidentally be a lot of BMR votes?

:whistles:

don't know if these guys actually believe that or they think we are all stupid. Ninja Launch only benefit those in the know. With new algos, miners, and no gui really left out many people that come here. I missed the launch by two weeks and have less than 1000 coins now after mining for about 10 days. Tell us how many coins you guys mined in the first 10 days.
530 by mining 24/7 and I received some donations so consider it more like 300 coins. I am now sure it covers the electricity cost.

How would you compare MC2 with Sharecoin and Chancecoin (a decentralised casino)]?
1837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MC2: A cryptocurrency based on a hybrid PoW/PoS system on: May 07, 2014, 05:46:15 PM
Cpu coin are cr*p. Don't try to decentralized currency me when they are botnets raping every cpu coin.

At least with a GPU mineable coin the distribution will be skewed towards users who are at least partially vested in cryptos versus botnet operators who have nefarious intentions at best and are most likely dumpers.

The mining algo is not really the issue, greed is.  I think a better way for an organic coin distribution is to have MC2 off of any exchange that deals in fiat or BTC.  I am not saying that will happen (never will) but that would be one way to minimize the greed factor in the coin distribution.  Being un-exchangeable does nothing for the usefulness of the coin though so you have to balance this with the less altruistic users so the coin has a chance at success.
Counter-example: monero. Not exchange, only OTC. Doesn't change a thing.

I like your "mining algo is not really the issue, greed is". Perfect one-liner Smiley

There is no "dev team".  There is a community of people working on various aspects of the coin.

I've been keeping the repo up to date.
NoodleDoodle likes to optimise his miner.
TFT started the fork and also assists when things break.
othe's been working on a GUI.
zone117x has been working on a pool.

It's a decentralized effort to maintain the fork, not a strawman team of leet hackers who dwell in the underbellies of the internet and conspire for instamines.
+1. Other community members handle the marketing aspects too, but as far as development is concerned, I think the list is complete.
1839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO] Monero - Anonymous Currency Based on Ring Signatures on: May 07, 2014, 05:07:33 PM
Is there a reason you're so personally invested in this? Monero is less than a month old and has been maintained by a loosely-affiliated group of developers, not some kind of internet cabal. That's the source of the disorganization that seems to bother you (e.g. the change in name, domain, etc.).

Right now there is obviously either an optimized miner or some kind of botnet on the network. If someone has inspected the Cryptonote source and used their abilities (programming, financial, or otherwise) to gain an advantage it sucks for the rest of us but is not an insta-mine. That's just the way the world works. Someone else is better at something and they get ahead. I think it's pretty naive to think that people won't try to gain an inside advantage if they can. Although it's nice for people to share crypto mining resources (e.g. cgminer, sgminer, guiminer, Noodledoodle's code fork) there is no moral obligation that they do so. Ultimately if something is unfair we're free to choose not to participate. Whoever has dramatically increased the hash runs the risk of alienating their potential future buyers if they shut everyone else out of the game, but we'll have to wait and see if that happens.
That's the beauty of it. Abusers get punished by abused people's free will.

People thinking otherwise are, IMHO, stuck in a dictatorial worldview where they think they have no choice.
Bytecoin was 80% premine. Choice was to either complain and follow (cursing the darkness) or create a fair fork (lighting up a candle) - Same thing happened two years ago with Tenebrix (or Ixcoin even earlier), by the way.
TFT chose to light up a candle (after that, he had a kind of management that pissed off enough people to make him ostracized, but that's another matter).

Guys, you are free. But freedom stops when you stop using it.
1840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BMR vs MRO. Time to make it fair. on: May 07, 2014, 04:46:34 PM
Some members of our good BitMonero community decided to rename the coin and even did it after sneaky voting in their own IRC chat.
It was #bitmonero by that time. Hardly "their own IRC chat" :/.
Confirmation bias is dangerous. I recommand factual data instead.
