UPDATE:
Our Butterfly Labs Bitforce Single has arrived and I took the rig down today to get it up and running.  It's doing great so far, getting about 825mh/s in cgminer.   Grin

Interest payments have been sent.  Thank you to all my depositors.
18203  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: ~ PAYING 8% MONTHLY INTEREST ON DEPOSITS ~ on: May 01, 2012, 03:39:37 AM
I've sent out 0.01 BTC test payments to all depositors.  If you did not receive a 0.01 BTC test payment, you have about 20 hours to let me know before interest payments are sent.  If you did receive the test payment, all is well and you will receive your interest payment tomorrow.

Mod note: this account has been compromised. Do not send BTC to any recently-posted addresses.

Thanks for the heads up.

Hi OgNasty,
Please change my repayment address to "1AMFex7h8b8TBD5WewZdHTqSQjMG8fiSsF", I restored my wallet from backup and lost some new receiving addresses. I will acknowledge this change in your thread for public record. Thanks.

It seems the community has voted with their BTC and do not think pirateat40 is going to have an "end game" anytime soon.

So, basically, this is all profit no risk for you?

I would argue that I'm risking my profits.
18210  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE prediction market launched on: April 24, 2012, 02:21:21 AM
This could be a great way to determine asset ratings.  Lots of possibilities for implementing betting and insurance into the GLBSE with this also.  I'm interested to see how it plays out.

BASE RATE INCREASE:

In order to encourage new deposits and reward all depositors for the growth of this program, I would like to announce a potential increase to the base rate on deposits.  Once there are 2000+ Total BTC Held in Deposits listed on this thread, the base rate will be increased from 8% to 10% for all depositors.

Note:
Having 2000+ Total BTC Held in Deposits will also enable the Reserve Fund to grow much faster, which will benefit all depositors.

The base rate may be lowered back to 8% if Total BTC Held in Deposits fall below 2000 BTC for a prolonged length of time.

So the million dollar question seems to be...

Will Bitcoin Savings & Trust default?

About the bet:
It's not defined how a "default" looks like - even MPOE shares are worded more strictly! Undecided

I think there will be plenty of noise if anything remotely close to a default happens, so I doubt we'll have to resort to technicalities in describing it.

+1

EDIT:  It is literally the textbook definition of what a "default" looks like...

[1] Default may occur if the debtor is either unwilling or unable to pay their debt.

This statement is true if Bitcoin Savings and Trust is unwilling or unable to pay out requested deposits on or before July 4th, 2012

One of our 5970s appears to have overheated last week.  I have tried taking it apart and replacing the thermal paste, replacing drivers, reformatting, changing thermal pads, all to no avail.  I am having a friend who knows a lot more about repairing hardware take a look at it next week to see if he can get it working correctly.  In the meantime, I have installed a watercooling loop that I picked up for a great price to make sure we do not run into any further overheating issues.  Hopefully my friend is able to repair the 5970 and we have it up and running again before the next dividend payment.  Either way, we have plenty of reserves and a more efficient miner now so I do not see this having an effect on our dividends.  I have also received a message from Butterfly Labs saying that our Bitforce Single is scheduled to be shipped in the next batch and it will be the latest revision.

+1 to the unwanted spam comment...  I did not appreciate it either. OP's spamming is out of control.

Hi,

I wanted to direct your attention to MPEx's call for a miner to MM a difficulty-based option. You can check out the details here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77675.0
