1861  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 24, 2023, 08:26:34 PM
Anyway BB will be playing against TSM tomorrow so probably last chance to take another 2-0 sweep for BB

Another 2-0 sweep for BB as expected. Anyone that made all those -1.5 maps on BB would have made decent amount even if it lose once against Secret which is kinda unexpected ( I guess 322 mafia or some sort was disturbing the flow of that game whatsoever ).

Betboom is on a roll, and that Secret sweep defeat is something that not everyone has seen from a distance. Those who stayed faithful with BB since the start of the Riyadh Masters are surely rewarded with a lot of money. Hopefully they win this tournament, since it's still uncertain of what will happen to Pure after this. Surely Valve will not just stop from banning him in the Bali Majors. There has to be something more than that.

From here onwards, the prizes are pretty huge. Any team that got eliminated on 9-12th will get $300k which is $100k higher than winning the Major

That oil money really is flowing in all things sports. $15 million prize pool isn't a joke, and any teams would surely want to get better placements and get more money.
1862  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Got scamed by Stake on: July 24, 2023, 06:37:34 PM
According to your screenshot, You bet on NY with -22.5 handicap while the result of the game is 101-83 which your bet is lose since NY didn’t cover the -22.5 points difference. Your bet is a handicap pick and not a Match winner. You should be familiar on bet picks before you start wagering money on gambling.

Thats why its buged. It shows at handicap when i chose the winner.

Hmm, it's the first time that I heard that someone's bet has changed after the event has concluded. Do you have any previous screenshots of your bet prior to these ones? It's hard to believe that a platform will be so blatant about cheating their players, especially with Stake whose reputation is already cemented in and out of the forum. I'm not doubting your screenshot, nor your claims whatsoever just because I am advertising Stake under my signature, but what you're saying is taking a step further on the usual claims that people have been throwing at the said platform.

1864  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: July 24, 2023, 11:55:54 AM
The truth remains that you increases your business profits when you've a lot patronages and you've the customers demand so sell out your goods.

Otherwise, profits can be gained with a a selling methods strategies and your savings method.
As an entrepreneur aimed to gain profits, you must cut your costs looking forward to regain your capital in the business then it's assumed you've counted no lost but nevertheless, business has a varieties of profits and losts on some occasions.

You must possess a marketing skill in other to entice and attract customers for patronages without them undermining the cost of your service meanwhile.... You don't target to make over profits otherwise your goods gets stocked due to your service charges and it's marketing system.

Exactly! Cause at the end of the day what your customer says about your business will either make or break the profit you intend to have. Your customers, if they like your service, will surely be the one to even bring more customers to you. Hence, it is important to ensure customer satisfaction, but do not stop that. It is also essential to take care of loyal customers.

1865  Economy / Economics / Re: I cannot go home if I don't make a lot of money now!! on: July 24, 2023, 11:32:18 AM
The pressure of ensuring that we have the money to provide for our family is truly difficult to deal with specially during times when we can't do much. I know OP is desperate to earn for their family but it will be more difficult to do something illegal and be held accountable for that as all opportunities to earn and make money for your family will all be gone. So the bottom line here is -- work hard.
1866  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 24, 2023, 10:16:17 AM
I have never understood luxury accessories ever in my life. Doesn't have to be a watch but to be fair the only watch I ever owned was a gift from my aunt when I was like 15 or 16, never bought a watch ever again, never been gifted one of course since they are quite expensive if you go that route. But I also do not understand other stuff either, necklace, earings, rings, wrist thingies whatever they are called, they even have some for feet. At the end of the day the only thing I am willing to spend money on like that would be clothing, which I rarely do, but sometimes I do it, usually wear cheap stuff as well, if I have 1 expensive shirt, I probably have 10-11 cheap ones as well, only wear the expensive one on special days. So long story short, I rather invest into bitcoin of course, because expensive clothing or accessories never made any sense to me, and probably never will after this age.

I'm the same. I'm not someone who understands the trend of buying luxury clothes and accessories which will most likely will either lose it's value after a few years or will not be as popular as it is now. I would rather buy cheap but decent clothes and accessories while investing into bitcoin where I know I'll be earning.
1867  Economy / Economics / Re: How billionaires are really affecting the economy. on: July 24, 2023, 09:12:47 AM
I think most people forget one of the biggest contributions that Billionaires bring to the economy, namely : Job creation

You mentioned that they only contribute 3% to the taxes of a country, but how much is 3% of say 5 Billion Dollars... for only 1 person. How many services can be paid by that contribution and how many government salaries can be paid by that.  Tongue

They also create a lot of jobs in the private sector and those people also pay taxes and that money is also being used to fund projects in the public sector.  Wink

Exactly. These billionaires are opening businesses that gives us an opportunity to work. They are literally the biggest contributor for the working class as they are the ones to provide us with, well, work.

As for the discussion about the taxes, they may be issues regarding this matter, but we can't ignore the fact that even 3% of a billionaire's taxes amount to so much already.
1868  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 24, 2023, 08:36:47 AM
There's no secret.

1. Have a job with good salary.
2. Don't save, instead of invest your money.
3. Avoid spend your money for unnecessary thing e.g. expensive food, cloth, entertain etc.

That's all, I'm sure the next 10-20 years you will become rich.

The reason why many people can't become rich are because they can't follow the three requirements I mentioned above. Most of people work in low or minimum salary job, most of people can't take risk, most of people want to impress other people and want to entertain themselves.

I agree with number 1 and 3, but 2 should be a little different. It is true that we should be investing most of our excess money but not having to save any of it will be hard specially during unexpected circumstances. There are instances that we will be needing money right off the bat and since all of our money are outside for investment it will be hard for us. Instead, I think it will be best to have both savings and investments.
1869  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe have one big problem the euro currency on: July 24, 2023, 07:37:15 AM
The European economy is still the largest in the world. Not to mention its large tourism incomes as Europe have a lot of places for tourist to enjoy and visit. Moreover, the number of luxury businesses in EU that is booming in the market currently. Hence, your points, in my opinion holds no bearing.
1870  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of Farming. on: July 24, 2023, 06:48:48 AM
Necessity is the mother of invention. We are still not at that point where we are out of farming lands. But the situation is quite tough now NGL. Vertical farming could be a solution to this. People will come up with more ideas to maximize farming. To be honest, farming has a great impact on the economy. If your country can produce enough food, then life will be much easy.

Food is the most essential substance in our life. We consume food every day no matter what. So focusing on that will be the best for everyone. But in order to make life easy, we do need other industries too. So I am not against urbanization if people can find more ways to maximize farming. Vertical farming is one step towards that. But in the future, we may see more ways to do it more efficiently.

The sad thing about this is that some countries that have agriculture as the center of their food and economic system is receiving little to no help from their own government. Moreover, many of the farming lands are rapidly being bought and used for industrial development. Due to this many farmers are choosing to do other jobs.
1871  Economy / Economics / Re: What could Elon Musk be buying next? on: July 24, 2023, 06:11:00 AM
Basically, it is difficult for us to know about Elon Musk's purchasing plans this year. Such individual investment policies and purchasing plans are often not announced or known for certain in advance. Elon Musk is well known for making innovative and sometimes unexpected investment decisions. However, given Elon Musk's past buying history and interest, it is likely that his major purchases this year include investments in renewable energy, expansion into other transportation sectors, expansions in artificial intelligence and robotics technology, and space exploration research and development.

I agree. Musk has been hinting about his interest on artificial intelligence expansion and space exploration research. After all it will be a big investment that will surely make profits for him in the future. Right now, however, he is having fun with his Twitter investment and what else he could change there.
1872  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: July 24, 2023, 01:22:03 AM
Moving from your country of origin is highly advisable, even if you can make it for a couple of years and even better if you travel and work in at least 3 different places. It gives you a broader view of the world and there is always something to learn even if you go to a country that may be less developed or more "difficult" is always a growing experience.

This is very ideal. However, if we're being realistic here, it'll be hard for at least half of us to even go to more than 2 countries. Inflation is currently making our life harder and financial stability isn't as easy to reach as it used to be. I do agree that experiencing different cultures opens our eyes to a lot of things and lets us learn various ways of living but sadly only a few of us can truly experience such a thing.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 23, 2023, 06:05:24 PM
^ That is a controversial statement by his coach, but it seems that Fulton is just shrugging his shoulder as if to tell this coach to shut up.

In any case, Fulton with or without that hand wraps, believes that he can and will beat Fulton as his own country in front of his crowd. So that is the mentality that Fulton has right now. No need from his coach to throw some rants on the media. Japanese is very respectful, but if you talk trash maybe we will see Inoue unleashes his full potential and power at super bantamweight as he might be agree with that statement.
He is already making excuses just in case Fulton loses; he already has one. There's a governing body that would ensure the fight is fair and square, so he doesn't need to worry about that. Besides, in the first place, Inoue would not think of cheating, as that would jeopardize his boxing career.

Right. It's not that we cannot blame them for they are just thinking ahead to defend themselves if in the case of Fulton being defeated by the challenger, Naoya Inoue. But their way was just a bit off right from the start because throwing an allegation will definitely not help their situation as that will just make it worse. Furthermore, there's no need to accuse of something because the boxing industry has been more careful because of what happened in the past and certainly Inoue's camp will not do something careless.

I don't think Inoue's camp would put their fighter's hands in the dirt. The man is talented and was a force to be reckoned with in his previous weight class. He doesn't need to dope or add something to his gloves or hand wraps to win - he just need to have a good opening and basically training to carry himself. Fulton's camp is already fabricating excuses, but if it's something that turn out to be true, the match officials will be ready to stop the fight in a heartbeat.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: July 23, 2023, 04:47:20 PM
I had placed a live bet on a cricket match once where the favorite team was leading, if the opponent would have been leading, I could be more nervous, but since the favorite was leading, I was confident and thought it will be an easy win, but the opposite happened and the weaker side went ahead and won the match.

That's also a good reason to bet while the game is live already. It's the kind of certainty that a gambler would look for. In crickets however the longer the game will last the more it looks like something will flip.

Just like the Tennis game, where the game will take hours and hours. My goal is to keep betting even on the games I am no fan but just seeing the leading team base on the score as its live, I can bet and win.

Odds swing real time, and if the team you bet on is winning by a huge margin, I don't think it's wise to put anything on them at all. Just imagine how low the odds would be. But if it's a back and forth between the teams, chances are the odds are still doable for a bet, and that is something that we want to bet on. Just do not think that if someone is leading in a game, they would be the winners already. Some teams lose steam as the game progresses.
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Belief on: July 23, 2023, 03:03:27 PM
It doesn't hurt to believe on your bet, so long as you are not trusting it blindly and putting a lot of money in it that will put you in a tough position. There's some kind of luck that goes to those who are positive in what they do, although it's mostly superstitious in nature but I do cling to it as it has happened to me a lot of times. Putting faith in what we do is one thing, but leaving rationality behind is another.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed can cause a lost bet, (true or false) on: July 23, 2023, 12:36:29 PM
There is a reason why you do not extend a parlay that long and add high odds games that you are quite uncertain of. I know that a lot of people do this to maximize their profits, but like this one, it kinda screws up the whole bet. Then again, to each, his own. There are instances wherein this kind of bet hits, and if it does it gives you a huge payout. Nevertheless, if you want to make steady profits, or there's an option to collect potential wins without completing the whole parlay, do it.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: July 23, 2023, 11:49:08 AM
McLaren is on the rise in the recent times. This is another spectacular qualifying performance by them. Norris is already one of the most skilled drivers on the grid. But it is also nice to see Piastri getting used to the tracks and having a faster car to show his skills more clearly. This time he is starting as 4th.

Piastri lost his position on podium to Hamilton the last time. I wonder if we will see a revenge here. However Hamilton was incredible in qualifying. He was the fastest of the session by a small gap to Verstappen. The expectations will be big from him in the race as well. We are likely to have another podium with the same drivers after the British GP.

Piastri is phenomenal. Not a lot of people see him as a great driver but he is actually doing great drives recently. Norris is also getting the hang of the new McLaren car and it's showing on the results of the recent races. Whatever they're doing in the team is working, and hopefully they bring in consistent results even on the British GP.

Ferrari however...

Most likely usapang market 'to. And yes, imposible talaga na maging US dollar currency tayo since magiging malaking political issue ito and hindi basta basta magagawa.
1879  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Mag-ingat sa bagong paraan ng mga hacker at Scammer on: July 23, 2023, 07:59:19 AM
Habang tumatagal lalong tumatalino ang mga hacker. Kya dapat sumabay din tau how to prevent this kind of scam.

1880  Economy / Economics / Re: Is some certain lifestyle a waste of money and time ? on: July 23, 2023, 07:10:14 AM
Your lifestyles is totally dependent on your spending habits ans it is not necessary that Rich spends more and poor spends less , some rich people are very cautious spenders rather than that they try to invest their money in some profitable project .
Sometimes poor and average income groups are more carers spenders they waste money on so called fun and drinking which results in loosing everything they had .

I agree, it's honestly more on the mindset. I know a lot of rich people who would rather focus on investing and keeping their money flowing, while there are those average to below average (poor) financial status people who are spending too much that their loans are piling up. Lifestyle is up to the mindset and attitude of an individual.
