But isn't this an argument in favor of Juventus? Firstly, winning one game against a favorite (assuming United or Arsenal are strong favorites against Juventus, which I'm not sure about) is much easier than winning two games. Secondly, if the main rivals are in another part of the grid, then you obviously have an easier path to the final. And we do not take into account the fact that for United and Arsenal this is the second priority and not the first.
I believe ManU and Arsenal are the best teams here and the favorite team to win Europa League. They are in top 3 of EPL which is the best and most competitive around the world. They are way stable than the other teams here. ManU could manage to concentrate more here than in a match in EPL which isn't the case for gunners, so they might not be ready to sacrifice EPL to win in EL. Juve is certainly a good team but they aren't that stable in terms of management and players together. The other teams might have a chance to advance but I doubt if they pass to the final game. |

And Liverpool should be more confident for their matches in the Champions League after this win. but the real challenge for Liverpool is in the next game, namely against Man United. Arsenal have set their target on winning the premier league this season. Judging from how they have shown confidence so far, even after losing to Manchester City and dropping to second position with City leading by goal aggregates, Arsenal remained determined and bounced back to winning ways again to overtake Manchester City and go back to top position. Against Everton I'm anticipating a better performance and must win game for Arsenal.
Arsenal were lucky to see City dropping points easily otherwise they weren't able to be in the first place. There is 2 up to 5 points difference between both teams in case gunners won vs Wolves. These 3 points are important since a defeat will make them very vulnerable and might lead them to much troubles. Waiting for 2 other games to sack a coach or not is ridiculous. Chelsea is a dysfunctional team right now and might risk Champions League progress soon. The winning goal finally came for Lazio in the last ten minutes and they got the win. We are seeing them in top 4 temporarily but this is very likely to change as well.
Because Roma are going to play against Cremonese and I think it will end up with a victory for Roma. I remember their Coppa Italia game which ended quite surprisingly. It is time to have their revenge on Cremonese. The Serie A is a much more serious tournament in the end so I expect Roma to show a more impressive level of performance for the win. It might just not be by a big goal gap.
Roma don't score many goals generally so yeah I expect 1 goal difference in that game and Roma are favourite. They have to win to get the 3rd place from Milan and kick Lazio from the 4th place. Villarreal won this game after 4 successive failure and after losing many points leading to their drop from the ranking to the 10th place after this round. Manchester United won the game with two first half goals. What a turnaround from the team that lost to both Brighton and Brentford as the beginning of the season. They are still in the FA Cup and Europa League as well as chasing for the Premier League.
As for Newcastle, there are many positives to take because the ideas of the new manager will take time to implement and they are clearly in need of strengthening their squad. If they manage to finish the season in the top four it will be a massive achievement.
Congratulations to ManU for winning EFL Cup and good luck for them to win other competitions. They can do it and win Europa League especially after kicking one of the best teams: Barcelona out. In FA Cup, there isn't many top teams left except City and Spurs. I am impressed with their performance after their horrible start this season in EPL and they deserve to lift something. For Newcastle, they did pretty well and this team might have a bright future. |
