1881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do scams harm Bitcoin's reputation in the mainstream world? on: August 27, 2020, 11:24:51 AM
Do you think that scams harm Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies' reputation in the mainstream world? What will it take for people to distance scams from Bitcoin itself? Thoughts? Huh
Absolutely it is and most of the time. For example, let us compare it on ICO, it was very successful before then but as the scammers infiltrate the system it became a mess, investors are now having second thoughts in handling their money. And the same goes for Bitcoin, because of the decentralization of this coin criminals are abusing this technology so they could freely make a transaction without getting caught.
This was also the reason why few governments across the world are having a thought of accepting it on their system.

Today's discussion is, how to get merit and what is merit? It is useful, again, what is the price?
I saw tons of discussion regards with merit and I think most of them are almost consisting of the same answers and nothing new so to keep out the redundancy of this topic you could have just browse it, take this thread as an example to learn what you have to need to know about merits.

It is not actually available to buy.
Merit is actually cannot be sold however, people are using another way like merit trading and I also find few topics about it here in the forum.

I am happy to live in Bangladesh. Many people do not know what cryptocurrency is actually a digital currency. I am trying to teach them all with my experience hopefully they will get better benefits.
I like your idea of using yourself as a medium to spread your knowledge about cryptocurrencies in your country but it seems your government wasn't really like crypto. We really appreciate your effort but I think you should be careful mate, it would be much better if you will refrain from doing it rather than of getting caught and put yourself in danger. Perhaps, you should wait for your government to accept this crypto before do your thing.

1886  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why don't more people invest in btc? on: August 25, 2020, 11:31:12 AM
I'm wondering why the general population hasn't yet caught on and started investing in bitcoin. These days people seem to be willing to immediately invest into the stock market, but not into any cryptos, when it has such a large potential in the future. Why is this the case?
Apparently, because Bitcoin has been in a lot of scam accusations in the past few years. Bitcoin has been in any kind of shady scheme such as Ponzi and more, that is why most people and media have negative thoughts regards upon its use. And I personally experience that though. Moreover, some government across the world doesn't give much support on it but instead, they tend to reprimand the usage if Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies. Therefore, investors are having second thoughts because of the scammers who use it on their scheme.
1887  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Probably a stupid question. on: August 25, 2020, 11:01:40 AM
Hello, I want to buy bitcoin, how can I be sure that they were not used for any shady business?  If I buy directly from a person, what is the chance that I will have problems later?  Do I only have to buy from exchanges?
Please, forgive my ignorance.
Fist of all there's nothing wrong to ask a question especially if you don't have much knowledge from it, besides you were a newbie so we understand if you don't know it.
Now getting back to the question, I would recommend to buy Bitcoin in exchanges but make sure the platform has integrity rather than buying it on a person. If you know the person you are going to buy from then why not that would be much convenient though but if not you should be wary of it.
1888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting a hardware wallet doesn't mean your funds are completely safe on: August 24, 2020, 01:54:31 PM
First of all, there's no such system or hardware that is immune to any kind of scheme. It is true that having a hardware wallet gives more security than a software wallet can provide. But this is not necessarily mean your money is in 100% percent because these hardware wallets can only be managed through a computer that can potentially be hacked or get malware upon download random software. Consequently, we must must beware of downloading stuff online, get your software in the official website if possible and secure your phrases, keys, and more away from online, make sure that you'll be only one know where it is stored.
1889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Having loss is part of experience as a Trader on: August 23, 2020, 03:21:06 PM
Loss is part of the trade. No one is perfect even if the person who has the experience and knows a lot in trading also been lost. It is part of the game. This is the time where you can learn everything because those mistakes you have made will become a guide and inspiration for you to succeed. And you should know that if you are truly a trader. Trading is more likely a 50:50 game you could either lose or win. But you could lessen the risk of losing though, all you need to do is to analyze every situation such as watching the market flow and everything.
1890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reason hunters dump reward as soon as received. Trust Exchange etc on: August 23, 2020, 12:09:13 PM
Simply because Bounty hunters not does not really cares about the future of the token they just only after the rewards they can get throught it, and I knew some of them. To be honest, I also have an issue trusting these token probably because of what past ICO projects have did to me. I usually hold those token and wait for the right time before to sell but it turns out they dump already and I wasn't expecting that. So I can't blame why hunters dispose those token after they recieve it.
1891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How possible is it to make a living trading cryptocurrencies alone? on: August 22, 2020, 11:31:19 AM
Can someone make it trading only altcoins?
It is possible however, you will put your money in a lot of risks. This kind of job requires skills otherwise, you'll lose it all.
There are lot of altcoins that is worth of your investment and there's a lot of altcoin are not worthy as well, so you better put an effort and analyze to distinct which coin is good or not.
1892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Governments cannot control Bitcoin on: August 22, 2020, 12:50:48 AM
Government cannot lay their hands on Bitcoin for now and the only thing they can do is to impose regulation upon exchanges. They can put charges on it and by then this will have an impact upon our trade because this might change the transaction fees a little bit.
Government can't control Bitcoin indeed, but there's a chance that they might pull of something that could able for them control Bitcoin eventually.
1893  Economy / Economics / Re: How long will it take banks to phase out physical cash completely? on: August 15, 2020, 07:28:30 AM
Really?

Phase out cash? and what for?

When the time where a vaccine already exists, do you think that we still need to have a contact less payment? As we are already immune to the virus when we are injected by the vaccine, there is no need to worry about transmitting the disease because everything will go back to normal once it happened soon. It is not that bad to promote cashless payment but we should give the people an option on what platform will they use to pay their bills or expenses. Let them choose on what kind of transaction they are comfortable with.
Exactly. Cashless payment was indeed being encourage right now because of the pandemic, this was the countermeasure of our government to prevent the transmission of the disease. However, as soon as the vaccine is made and release in the market I believe that most of the people are getting back to what they are more accustomed. Perhaps the use of online paymetn method may continue in rich countries but I doubt that it will work on third world countries. Therefore, I think it will take several decades before the world become ready for these kind of paying method.
1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment plan on: August 15, 2020, 05:52:32 AM
Since I only used exchange to which being approved and given licensed from the government to operate and it influence my choice of crypto and come up with a different top list of good crypto to invest with. Here is my choice,

1. bitcoin 40%
2. ripple 30%
3. bch 30%
4. ethereum 10%

What do you think of this list?

First of all, I like the idea of yours having a multiple coin to invest with. Diversification is one of the best strategy of investing to lessen your risk of getting lost of your funds.
Now, regards with your list, I think it is not bad idea because those coins are considerable profitable however, I would rather to have ethereum right behind of Bitcoin the fact that this coin has more potential to give profit compared to BCH and Ripple. These two top coins are currently making a pump in the market right now.

1896  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: August 13, 2020, 11:02:05 AM
To be honest my answer is both because I couldn't say that I'm only here for knowledge right? In fact I found this forum because of me searching on internet where I could earn money and upon browsing here in the forum I eventually learn and widen my knowledge with regards on crypto and earn at the same time. Basically, I'm earning through signature campaign and bounty campaign cause you don't need to put a money on it so you maybe could try it.
1897  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is merit and why do some people have up to thousands? on: August 13, 2020, 06:21:04 AM
I just got only 1 merit I don't know what it means and I see some profile with thousands of merits. What does it and how does it come?
Probably your inquiries are now been answered to be fact that some users are already given a helpful link which discuss about merits.

For simple explanation, the amount of merits you have gained are the amount of times how you been useful in the forum. You could simply gain these merit through making a significant topic or discussion that could help other members. This merits can be also considered as regulation for ranking system the forum.

1899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder: There Is No Such Thing As Easy Money on: August 12, 2020, 05:09:14 AM
A lot of people tend to believe in this kind of scheme without even researching. Most of them were not even legally registered to the authorities so it's really better to search first before doing this kind of thing cause you will just end wasting your efforts and lose your money instead of earning.
And that was the reason why most of people who don't have much knowledge in this kind of things always falls into this kind of scheme. Whenever they saw a photo of a rewards/money that they could get from just doing a referral people tend to be dumb and fall easily. Without having any prior knowledge about these things and letting these fraudulent activities loitering in any kind of social media platform especially in Facebook could easily lure more users.

Hello everyone. I am a total newbie, looking for a bit of advice. I want to start trading , but not even sure where to open an account.I am in the USA I would really like to fund it by using credit card cuz I'm a bit nervous about giving my bank account information. coinbase seems to be a popular one but from what I understand they only accept ACH's from the bank. Is there one that people recommend that over another? it looks like this could be fun to do, I'm obviously only going to put in small amount of money to see if I can handle it. Thanks
I think having Coinbase as your trading platform is not that bad, as a matter of fact, it is suite really well looking on the place you were in. Personally, I preferably used those platforms that ran for such a long time since they have credibility, they are reputable and Coinbase is one of them. To be in fact I once used it in my past transaction and it works really well. But now I'm trying to work on Binance, maybe you could try this one as well.
