You could find 1 good post that they made in order to give them one merit, that is an option? But I guess most newbis wont even have one good post PM-limits don't depend on Merit, only on Activity. They need 15 Activity to reduce restrictions. I'm not sure if a Copper Membership still whitelists PM as it says on the above link.

Yeah but a 15% from the last 2 characters is pretty big if you ask me There's also a much larger sample size (16^2=256). I just produced the data without applying any statistics. Plotting the numbers to see if it gives a normal distrubution might help. Or it might be a nice test to create 576000 randon numbers from 0 to 255, then see how often each appears. I've just used Linux default "rand" command to test this. Result: 2381x 15 ~snip~ 2144x 44 That's 10% difference. If I do it again, I get: 2384x 253 ~snip~ 2149x 251 That's a bit under 10% difference.

Now make a full list of all your useful threads not only the forum related ones, like the list of all the guides, the investment roller coaster, the vanity giveaway... I don't think that's useful, those are separate topics that have nothing in common.

Congrats OgNasty, SaltySpitoon, DarkStar_, and minerjones on your prestigious positions. Individually, I think these are all good choices for the job. Combined, however, especially minerjones doesn't seem to trust most of the other group members: - Until less than 20 hours ago, minerjones distrusted theymos (the 20 hours is based on hourly scraping of dtview)
- DarkStar_ is distrusted by minerjones.
- OgNasty is distrusted by minerjones.
Is this intentional, to reduce the risk of collusion?
One feature of this forum is there's no order of succession should theymos disappear. The forum's server is controlled by theymos, the forum's funds are controlled by this multisig set up and forum's domain is controlled by me. Should theymos disappear, I really have no idea who to even consider as bitcointalk.org's legitimate leader (even more so if there's widespread disagreement on the topic).
If the treasurers and forum staff are interested, we can collectively sign a contract agreeing on some sort of process to agree on a person to lead the forum should theymos disappear, and pledge to obey and follow that persons instructions in order to avoid splits or multiple organizations/sites claiming to be the real BitcoinTalk. Is that a good idea?
It's best to leave it somewhat distributed. It wouldn't be ideal, but it also wouldn't be the end of the world if the forum split into several pieces. And since political processes are ripe for corruption, I prefer to leave these things a bit vague and let all of the involved individuals figure it out to the best of their abilities. Should I disappear, Cyrus and/or others-I've-established will take over day-to-day operations and decision-making. You and the non-profit organization would act as checks upon them and each other to ensure that the forum doesn't just turn into some business, but would continue to have a "soul". What happens to the Bitcointalk.org domain name if Cøbra disappears?

I would like to note that some of banned users listed in four clubs already been unbanned. I've removed a few, but since they stay in modlog for a week, my (daily) script added them again. Long-term, I plan to remove all users once they make a post again, so that it doesn't require manual editing anymore. The consequence will be they stay in my lists during their temporary ban though.

But what about the green trust which is given for reasons like-
[bought a X, he sent me first, paid later] [Escrowed for him] [Sold a Y, he paid first]
How much weight does this feedback carry? It's up to the reader to decide how to value feedback. But indeed, instead of "buying" (with a almost certain risk of getting scammed) feedback for $40, doing an actual trade can be a much cheaper way to get green trust.

Ooh! So this is the account... Bonker, I can never forget it. The shitposts that were coming out of it were unbearable. It obviously changed hands 1. I even remember pointing the out Normally this type of things will only helpful for taking a little profits only but using your own strategy will only helpful for making the prophet more stable understand so if you are a trader my opinion is do what your strategy will say[/b].
Qtn: What did you just read? Ans: A guide on how to make "the Prophet more stable" ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) This looks like a text spinner. At first, I didn't agree to the red tag based on this topic, but it now seems justified until OP signs a message. I believe the real owner still has access to the private key (after all, the address is still used to receive funds), so any refusal to sign a message means it's not the real owner.
|
|
|
OP also did not come back to enlighten us about this whole "stake" episode. OP made two other posts, and only the second one shows his red trust. He didn't make more posts after that. It's plausible two different people use OP's account, and one of them only created this topic. I'm still waiting for a signed message.

Especially good job to OgNasty for returning the funds! Indeed! Returning funds is the real test after many years. I just read the first contract, and want to highlight a few parts: a mission similar to "In order to increase freedom in the world: Operate bitcointalk.org and/or sites similar to bitcointalk.org, work toward the long-term success of Bitcoin, and work toward more widespread decentralization and applied cryptography." Shouldn't this mission be highlighted much more prominent on Bitcointalk? If any of the bitcoins protected by the multisig arrangement are lost/stolen due clearly & directly to insufficient care by signer, then signer will be responsible for these losses. That's a serious burden to carry as a treasurer, most people won't be able to cover the current value of around 4 million dollars.

You could ask one of our participants (or anyone else) if they would be willing to outright purchase the NMC for BTC. I would be willing to do that, in fact. That would work, but ideally it should happen on the end date. But how to set the purchase price? NMC has always had a very wide price spread on different exchanges, and the most stable one just abandoned it.

Namecoin (NMC) was delisted from Poloniex. I would have expected them to send me an email about this ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) I can withdraw it, but I don't use any other exchange that supports it. Public discussion: now what? The following table is based on the current highest bids on respectively Bittrex, Binance and Poloniex. Please let me know if I made a mistake. Two established users (one of them DT1) have wiped their custom Trust list in the past week. I can only assume they're done with the drama involved, which is really a pity.

As an FYI, Spider703 was unbanned. His merit history on loyce.club reflects he is banned. I use data from my banned users list. I've removed him from my list, so the next update won't show him as banned anymore. Because of the recent wave of bans and unbans, I'm now working on automating this: anyone who makes a post will be removed within a few days. Also, do you have the BB code of what this post was before the thread was deleted? Since it's off-topic here, see pastebin.
