Sourav Ganguly first gig turning out to be good for Test cricket so far, he left no stone unturned for this. Inviting Bangladesh's Hon. PM Sheikh Hasina along with first test team of Bangladesh. i really hope after this he will take care of spectators concerns regarding stadium facilities etc.
This will be great. He is trying to create some buzz around. I guess the match will be full of visitors. Well, he will certainly take care of everything, he was a good sportsman after all.
It's Eden Garden; oldest stadium in India. Let me bring some test history for team India on the board.

Highest Score- 657/d by India
Lowest Score- 90 by India
Lowest Win Margin- 28 runs by India
Highest Individual- 281 by VVS Laxman

These are some good stats for the upcoming match. Moreover, it's the broken Bangladesh.
1902  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with security! I learned my lesson. on: November 21, 2019, 02:53:37 PM
Always use something like Google Authenticator or Authy. I guess Authy is better because it can be restored in case of losing the phone.
If you are storing your private keys/passwords/seed keys into online, no Authenticator is safe. It's better if we can use paper wallet or hardware wallet. Or at least, we don't store our private keys/seed keys online. It can be written form.
Sorry to hear about your loss. OP, you are a old bitcointalker. It's very unexpected mistake from members like you. You must have known about these security issue long ago.
1903  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: An Overview of Bitcoin Android Wallet on: November 21, 2019, 02:08:16 PM
For anyone looking for a Lightening Network focused bitcoin Mobile wallet, You can check out Wallet of Satoshi - Link🚀  from what I know, It's a full-fledged Lightening Networks wallet.
Thanks for sharing. I have never used that.
I have tried Eclair with test net version and the experience was good. Eclair is easy to use. I have paid Starblocks for coffee with the test net LN. If you are interested, you can check it out here- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5202971.0
If you need test net coins for testing purpose, I can share you as well.

Mycelium does not only support nested segwit, but native segwit too.
You got me a bit wrong here (May be I couldn't present it very well.) I meant it has the nested segwit as well.
Quote
I also don't really get your "security" column. What's your difference between 'seed' and 'seed key'.
Both are same. It was a mistake. Both means the same; seed key. Will update it now.

Quote
What you define as 'security' should be better called 'backup'.
You didn't include anything regarding the security of the wallet at all (e.g. pin code protection, how easy to circumvent, etc..).
You are right, it should be back up. I wanted to share how much secure the wallet is regarding different kinds of back up. This was a misunderstanding from me; back up & security are different.
I have planned to add some more column with more information but I scare that will mess up the whole thing.
1905  Other / Meta / Re: new board request - Online Privacy & Security on: November 21, 2019, 12:49:11 PM
I'd like a similar board, only with strict moderation. There is a lot to discuss when it comes to privacy but I'm afraid a board like that will get litered with spam.
Talking about spam, to be honest, all most all the sections other than the Technical Discussion & technical Support are full of spam. Look at Help & Beginners or Bitcoin Discussion or any other boards; I can guarantee that 50% posts are spam & doesn't worth to have a read. If I start to ignore users, I will probably end with ignoring 80% of the active posters. That's why I don't look at some of the sections at all.

I guess- another board for Online Privacy & Security would not be much of interest for most people because they don't care about it at all. It can be discussed in the Help & Beginners board.

What wallet have you used to execute the transaction? If you own the wallet, you can try Replace-By-Fee method if it is enabled already. If you are the receiver, you can try CPFP method to get faster confirmation.

1907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to create Lightning Network Channel- TestNet on: November 20, 2019, 02:21:18 PM
I paid, I did with Lightning Network. It's really an exciting feeling.

That's why I said you should "Request liquidity from this node".
I did tick that option; what if I didn't tick that?

Quote
Even easier: order a Blockaccino at Starblocks!
Fucking awesome. It was instant, within second. I can't imagine that it can be such faster while with maximum fees we had to wait 10 minutes at least.

A payment request-

Let me know if it's enough small, otherwise, I will create another.

I've sent 1000 satoshi. For future real use: you shouldn't post your balance Tongue

You can get 0.01 tBTC here, so you can open another channel and get incoming capacity.
I received it successfully, thanks a lot for helping me. Thanks for the suggestion. It was a great experience indeed. Now, I will check it a little more and try with main net with the gambling site you mentioned in other thread.
1908  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Beginner's guideline to Bitcoin Lightning Network on: November 20, 2019, 02:05:14 PM
OP Updated.

Bitlum wallet is an alternative that can also be used to make LN transactions. Based on other people is experiences, Bitlum wallets charge 1 satoshi per transaction.
Never heard about Bitlum wallet. You can try with eclair wallet for Android which I am doing at the moment. By the way, no wallet charge fee for any transaction. Bitlum is a wallet which might support LN but this has no connection with charging 1 satoshi per transaction. As like BitCryptex said above, the fee will be charged by the route and it can be different depending on which Route you are using.
1909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: An Overview of Bitcoin Android Wallet on: November 20, 2019, 01:54:04 PM
Which supports multisignature,24 words recovery seeds, not sure about LN support.
It doesn't support LN, only Bluewallet and Eclair support the Lightning Network. Anyway, I will try the Green Wallet and add it here as well; I didn't forget  Wink

My advice: try them both, spend some time on them, enjoy the speed of sending a few Satoshi from one website to the next one (casinos are great for testing this), and see what you prefer.
Thank you for the suggestion. I am trying hard to learn the LN because I am interested into this. Will try both but let me test the Eclair first  Cheesy which I am trying already.
By the way, which casino are you talking about? If I am correct, I have seen a thread; an user has asked the gambling site to test something he has developed for LN.
1910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to create Lightning Network Channel- TestNet on: November 20, 2019, 01:45:34 PM
4. Open a channel to ACINQ NODE (tick "Request liquidity from this node", this has a fee but it's on Testnet anyway)
It works  Cheesy I have created a channel with ACINQ Node (Had no idea what it is and that's why I didn't try with it.). Successfully created a channel but it says I can receive 0 BTC while I can send the amount I have entered with - Minimum Channel Reserve. I have attached an image below.

Quote
If you want to test it, feel free to post a (small) payment request. You'll need to select "Enable receive over Lightning" under Settings first.
Since I can't receive, I would love if you create a payment request and I would test it for the first time. Please make sure the payment request expiration is maximum (is it 6 hours?).
1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to create Lightning Network Channel- TestNet on: November 20, 2019, 08:45:25 AM
I have received a small amount of testnet BTC for testing Lightning Network. I'm using Eclair to figure out how LN works.
How can I create a channel. I guess for testnet, the node are different. I have tried with a main net node which says "Can't create channel".
My balance is ~0.002 BTC. Would appreciate if someone help me to learn the Lightning Network on testnet. Was suggested by BitCryptex to use the testnet.
By the way, why don't you try out the Lightning Network? You can download Eclair Mobile Testnet from the Play Store if you have an Android device. No risk involved.
1912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: An Overview of Bitcoin Android Wallet on: November 20, 2019, 07:58:17 AM
Tried Bluewallet, Jaxx, Samourai wallet and Coinomi? They are also good wallet. Don't like the Jaxx wallet much but others are good ones and have good reviews. It would be great if you can try them out and add them accordingly.
Coinomi supports multi crypto which I didn't consider using for storing my bitcoin at all. I will try the other wallet and add into the list. Thank you.

You should use better spacing in your tables, so people can read them (at least first column needs widened). An idea would be to use underscores, like in the last post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4301317.msg40020107#msg40020107

I think that Mycelium needs a better rating, since it's well maintained and the source code is public. And a public/closed source column could be also useful too.
Have updated the OP just now. Hope it now looks better than previous.

Well, I have used my personal rating point and it may vary. But I liked the idea of adding new column for public/closed source. I will add it soon with new rating point. I have given most priority in security, never thought that public/closed source is a part of security as well.
1913  Other / Beginners & Help / An Overview of Bitcoin Android Wallet on: November 20, 2019, 07:31:29 AM

That sounds cool. You have done it. Congrats. It's easy to rank up to be honest. I have reached full member earlier and now very close to the Senior Member rank. If someone put some effort, it's very easy.

  • Development of Indian Board. I would like to acknowledge Heisenberg_Hunter who is doing his best for the upliftment of Indian Board. He united us all Indians on forum on Telegram and now his becoming of Merit Source is cherry on the top. I will try to write some informative threads in Indian section which will serve as guide for existing and future bitcoin users on various issues.
IIRC, I had seen one/two of your threads in Indian board, and some great explanation on taxation. I really enjoyed your thread. Heisenberg_Hunter is a great guy for our local board. If you and other members contribute, we will get an active Indian board.

Your text is full of mental shortcuts which might mislead newbies (this also applies to people who have experience with crypto) if they decide to use the Lightning Network in the future.
To be honest, I have tried to keep it as simple as possible so that newbies can get idea. I never thought that it could mislead users. I had tried to learn from your topic, replied earlier here and waited for a long time to get corrected by someone. But no response.
I will update this topic if possible with more information as you have corrected.

Anyway, it's nice that you have put some effort into writing this thread. Keep it up!
Thank you. I always try to share my little knowledge with the newbies so that they can learn as well.
1916  Other / Beginners & Help / A Beginner's guideline to Bitcoin Lightning Network on: November 19, 2019, 05:19:23 PM
Introduction
Lightning Network or shortly LN is an emerging feature which can drastically change the picture of bitcoin adoption solving the problem of the higher fee for micro payments and slower confirmation issue. Although still it's not implemented in most of the wallets, we can expect it to be soon.

Table of Contents
1. What is Lightning Network?
2. How LN works?
  (i) Channel
  (ii) Route
3. A Real Life Explanation
4. Advantages of LN
5. Will it increase massive adoption?

1. What is Lightning Network?
Lightning Network is a feature which will allow you to transact bitcoin outside the Bitcoin Main Chain. It's a protocol on bitcoin blockchain. You will be able to send, receive bitcoin with lower fees, any amount(see the first reply from BitCryptex), faster than ever. It will basically help you to send & receive micro-payments.
Imagine, you have visited Alice's Coffee Shop, had a coffee for $2. Paying $2 with bitcoin is still possible but for $2, you may have to pay more fees sometimes, moreover, Alice will not agree to have confirmation of the transaction after 3/4 hours of your leaving the shop.

Two problems we see when you want to pay $2 for a coffee.
- You will not be happy to pay $1 fee for spending $2 worth of BTC.
- Alice will not accept BTC because it requires much time to get confirmed.

But, now with Lightning Network, you don't have to pay a huge fee for spending $2 worth of BTC, nor Alice will have to think about the slower transaction.

2. How LN works?
In Lightning Network, you have to create a channel with the other party. In the channel, you will be able to transact bitcoin frequently with low fee, faster and any amount.
Creating a channel means having an agreement with the other party. In other word, you and the other party will have a multisig wallet where you both will be able to transact bitcoin frequently. For your info, when you are entering into a channel, you have to pay a fee. It's same sending a transaction. After entering into the channel, whatever you transact, these log will not be updated into the blockchain. You you close the channel or leave from a channel, another transaction will be logged into the blockchain. In between entering a channel & closing a channel, all the transaction will be happened outside the bitcoin main chain and it's called settlement. Only your balance will be updated time to time but no main chain transaction will happen.

Two LN terms you must know-
(i) Channel- Channel are the place where all the Lightning Network transaction of you and your other party will be taken place and logged in. It allows you to send & receive transaction in the Lighting Network.
(ii) Route- This can be called as a bridge between you and Alice Coffee shop. Assume, you are visiting 10 shops daily and want to pay with Bitcoin Lightning Network. Creating 10 channels with 10 shops for paying them is a big hassle and costly, and imagine, how much channel shops have to create since they are handling a thousands of customers. With Route, you may create only one channel and have able to pay in all the shops.

3. A Real Life Explanation

Imagine, you visit 3 shops per week on average for purchasing your daily life stuffs; A, B, C

The shopkeeper accept Lightning Network payment. But, as like I mentioned above in Route, they certainly will not create thousands of channel. It will create more hassle for them. They will want to create channel with a Lightning Network Node where most of their customers have already created channels. This way, the Lightning Node will act as a bridge between the shopkeeper and the customer. The below picture may help you understand the process-

Bob= You
Route= Node with whom both you & the shop will create channel.

You or the other customers will create a channel with the Node, Shops will also create channel with the Node, that's how Node is creating bridge between customers and the shops.

Assume, you have created a channel and funded your address with 0.01 BTC. The initial funding will require transaction fee.
Now, you have purchased coffee 10 times from Alice's restaurant, you will be able to pay from 0.01 BTC, this will not require any transaction fee but your Lightning Node (I mean The Route/The Bridge) will charge a very low fee. Assume, each coffee is priced BTC 0.0003, you are paying 0.003 BTC.
Your balance is 0.007 (Will be low since you are paying a little fee). Now, you decided to close the channel for some reason. A transaction fee will be required.

Therefore, you are paying 2 transaction fee while you have transacted 12 times including the purchasing of coffee 10 times.

4. Advantages of LN
a. Easy Micro payments
b. Faster transaction, no confirmation needed.
c. Lower fees.

5. Will it increase massive adoption?
Till now, without Lightning Network, paying with bitcoin is very expensive sometimes when we compare paying $1/$2 for something. Also, with lower fee a transaction may stuck on the chain for a long time and get rejected after some times. Since Lightning Network is assuring instant transaction, very low fee transaction and easy micropayments, we can expect merchant will accept it more often than previous. More people will now feel comfortable paying with bitcoin for a lower amount. This is not guaranteed but a expectation since LN is reducing the resistance of bitcoin as a micro payment method.

Miscellaneous
1. I never used Lightning Network.
2. I am not a pro.
3. This guideline will act as very basic level of explanation for the beginners.

This is very elementary level design, I will make sure to create an extra-ordinary one.

1918  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Move bitcoins anonymous to another wallet on: November 19, 2019, 01:38:58 PM
I don’t really know how much certainty the above articles provide, but it casts some doubt as to exactly how far the anonymity goes. At least if it’s what I was after, I’d keep reading these sort of articles for a few days to get a better idea of the extent.
May be the articles are true or may not be. As per theymos, 100% anonymity isn't possible. Moreover, I have read a thread here where an user have showed breaking some of the mixing site.
I don't know much about MimbleWimble, if I am correct it's something which remove data from the blockchain which can ensure anonymity. I will not surprise if they have flaws because Monero as well have flaws which I have read a while back.
I would follow the theymos guideline which is the maximum level of anonymous transaction at the moment.
1919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here’s Why Bitcoin Just Dropped Nearly 4% on: November 19, 2019, 08:59:59 AM
First if all, decreasing or increasing 4% on any stock price is normal. In cryptocurrency, it's more normal than stock. Therefore, I wouldn't compare it with anything. We very often see such percentage of price gain or loss.
On the other hand, Google's Cache is a competitor of Apple Card, it has nothing to do with Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. Both these terms are very much different. You are spreading some shit propaganda, to be honest.
1920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏏🏏 Mutual betting & MutiBet IN SAME MATCH discussion & active Markets 🏆 on: November 18, 2019, 06:38:14 PM
Lyne scored 91 runs from 30 balls. Compare it with Shahid Afridi and Sanath Jayasuriya's tons.
These were much amazing and exciting. Although I was not a fan of Pakistan, neither any of the players, I really enjoyed the Afridi innings, it was one of my great cricket memory. Can't remember the Jayasuriya's innings. Which one are you talking about?
By the way, if I'm correct, the current fastest century's record belongs to ABD Villiars. I enjoyed that match as well.

I quickly looked into players list in T10 league and didn't find interesting names, few well known players are part of it including retired players. Other than that I don't know even single player.
That's good to know. I guess it will not be much appreciated by the cricket fan as well.

Shorter format matches are less enjoyable than longer format matches like test and ODI. But at the end, it's very hard to get visitors for longest format cricket- test. Although I used to get update, sometimes watches on the television, I doubt I would go to stadium for watching a test match. That's why in the long run, shorter format will gaib popularity, probably the T10 as well.
