1901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for advice on: August 09, 2020, 05:16:27 PM
Hello everyone. I am a total newbie, looking for a bit of advice. I want to start trading , but not even sure where to open an account.I am in the USA I would really like to fund it by using credit card cuz I'm a bit nervous about giving my bank account information. coinbase seems to be a popular one but from what I understand they only accept ACH's from the bank. Is there one that people recommend that over another? it looks like this could be fun to do, I'm obviously only going to put in small amount of money to see if I can handle it. Thanks
I think having Coinbase as your trading platform is not that bad, as a matter of fact, it is suite really well looking on the place you were in. Personally, I preferably used those platforms that ran for such a long time since they have credibility, they are reputable and Coinbase is one of them. To be in fact I once used it in my past transaction and it works really well. But now I'm trying to work on Binance, maybe you could try this one as well.
1902  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do if you get scammed! on: August 08, 2020, 01:59:21 PM
If you got scammed just simply take it as lesson and make sure that you won't experience it once again. But before that you should take an act make a discussion about it so that everyone should never experience what once you have gone through.

Btw I like the song  Cheesy it was kinda fun to listen with, however, I doubt you will felt good hearing it after you get scammed. Cheesy
1903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who said that ICOs are dead? on: August 07, 2020, 01:56:36 PM
ICOs are not dead entirely, but most crypto enthusiasts prefer IEO after several scams wayback. At least for IEO you are sure the exchange must have checkmated the legitimacy of the project and verified the team, and you are also sure the coin will be listed on that exchange.
people who say ICO is dead because they have never invested again in ICO and prefer IEO as the right investment. indeed it is not entirely that ICO is dead but many people don't want to invest there anymore. the level of fraud at ICO is very large so that is what makes ICO either die or indeed already dead. however, there are still people who believe that ICOs are still there is legitimate and successful.
Agreed. We cannot deny the fact that there are still some ICO who are not scam and can be profitable however, it would be a hell tough to find them because they're quite rare just like what OP have mention. But we cannot also deny the fact that most of it was just scam so I cannot blame why investors never trust it again, they're more likely into IEO and DeFi program which is more reputable.
1904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if the project is fake? on: August 04, 2020, 01:31:49 PM
Fake project is really frustrating if you're one of the victim especially for investors and bounty hunters.
I had read an interesting way to make sure the project is real. You can identify the project is fake by it's address of the company who is running IEO/ICO. Fake project would be indentify with this way because they put fake location. You can check it with google maps to verify if it's real.

So how do you indentify if the project is fake?
Well I haven't tried it yet but it is sound interesting so I would try it later. My way of getting know a project if it is scam is through their team, I usually check their background info if they were really into the project. Besides, I choose my bounty campaign through the manager who handled it, I usually participate in the project run by reputable manager.
1905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunting tips for newbie in joining bounty campaign. on: August 03, 2020, 01:41:03 PM
The easiest decision is to follow a reputable manager with the bounty campaign because, in the first place, they would be the ones who would be vetting the campaign and token itself. After all, if they accept some kind of scam-related project, then he would be held responsible for what he is marketing and managing. That’s the best way, IMO.

I think it’s quite easy to make a project look like a legitimate one. Just by doing active stuff and making sure that the community is around, a few months probably, they are going to get away with the bitcoin that you deposited.
Agreed. This was the thing I mostly consider before joining in a bounty campaign. Simply because, as you were said, there's no reputable person in this forum who will waste his/her time in managing a scam project besides, I doubt that they will put their credibility in a risk that could possibly ruin their account.
Moreover, I even also consider to conduct some background check about the project like their whitepaper, their roadmap and more.
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT MARRY YOUR ALTCOIN BAGS on: August 02, 2020, 01:40:19 PM
I am pretty sure that most of the people are guilty of just doing that at one point or another, I am definitely not an exception. I am still holding bags of 2017 alts that mooned insanely in the 2017 bull, then they got absolutely reckd in the following bear market. Maybe being emotionally attacked to projects that have hurt me bad (investment wise) over the past bear years makes me a sadist, but if they are going down, I am right there with them.

These coins/tokens are mostly dead. They are having a nominal value, only because there are users like you who continue to hold on to them. But eventually, those who hold these coins are going to dump them, or just ignore them. As time passes by, the trade volume will go down and at a certain point the coin/token will get delisted from the exchanges for lack of activity.
Not all the coins though. I must say there are still some coins that is worth to try or to place your investment. These tokens are indeed contain high risk compared to Bitcoin, Eth and more popular coins but this could be only means high amount of rewards is possible.
Upon holding these kind of coins, you must not put much trust on it, if you saw an opportunity to sell then do it, don't hold it much longer because anything can happen in crypto, just like the mistake happened a years ago.
1907  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tutorial - How to create Table in the BitcoinTalk Forum on: August 01, 2020, 01:34:32 PM
It is so bizarre to find this kind of tutorial in this forum, it really takes me back. I remember the days where I in school and my professor taught this code. It was taught on website programming if I recall. I miss these days  Cry , I hope for the end of this pandemic so I could go learn once again. Btw, this is a great topic, pretty sure it will helpful for everyone.
1908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Think before joining any campaign on: July 30, 2020, 01:37:13 PM
There’s no censorship in this forum and scammers can freely post their agenda, so if anyone dare to join in any campaign should be cautious. That’s why it is important to know the project well or all your efforts will be wasted.
Exactly. It is very rare to find a legitimate bounty campaigns nowadays and most of them are just scams that is why we must spend more time in checking them for us not to waste our time and effort.
Just because they said that their tokens are already been listed it doesn't necessarily mean it would be profitable just like what OP said it does even have volume. As a precaution, if they said that it is already been listed you should go check it out first, look if there's any have volume before you participate on their program.
1909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why KYC is extremely dangerous – and useless on: July 29, 2020, 01:39:32 PM
What is the real purpose of KYC? In my opinion, KYC is the only way to bind your identity with a bitcoin or other coin address now. Then who needs it? Exchanges where you convert cryptocurrency into money, controlled by the government. They must pay taxes on their income. Or to prevent crime explained by op.

I think that's the main reason why KYC is needed. However, it turns out the identity is sources of income that can make data owners tempted to sell it. No offense, it is human nature.

At present, Doing KYC is mandatory, and there is nothing we can do. Therefore be careful when doing KYC because a trusted place is consist of human.

Where is the trust inside an untrust environment?

Well if that the case then I don't mind to submit my personal information however, this will be limited only on reputable sites.
It is the truth that most of the time projects and exchanges are now mandate KYC before you getting your rewards or to be able to withdraw your funds. KYC is more likely inevitable now and I can't blame them. I guess all we need to do is to make sure that you are sending your info to reputable platforms to avoid the use of your identity in any kind of malicious intent.
1910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best Bitcoin Wallet? on: July 28, 2020, 11:45:03 AM
I have been using Copay as my main BTC wallet for about 5 years now.
I never thought about changing to a different wallet, because I never had a problem with it.
But out of no where, I got curious about which wallet other people are using.

What do you think is the best wallet out there for BTC? (Other than cold hardware wallets like Ledger)
I started with Blockchain wallet and Coinbase wallet and I was using the both of them on mobile. I never had any issues with them, but I have seen people who complain about these two wallets. Some have said that their money stored in Blockchain disappeared all of a sudden and customer support is not replying their complaints sent to their mail. And some have also claimed that these wallets have bugs and the rest.

So, I then got myself a hardware wallet to back them up. I just stored my assets using these three wallets. None of them are perfect, there will always be those that complain. I’m just being careful with how I use them, because I know the pros and cons.
Likewise. I have been using Blockchain and Coinbase as my Bitcoin storage for a long time. Fortunately, I haven't encountered any problem upon using these 2 wallet but just to make sure I diversify my Bitcoins in few different wallets, yeah it's kinda hassle to manage them but I prefer more this way. Besides, I have my hardware wallet as well for more firm security.
1911  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What or how does it feels to grow in rank?! on: July 26, 2020, 02:29:19 PM
It's been a 3 years since I found out this forum and way back then growing your rank was not that tough because all you need to do is make a ton of post and wait for your activity to update for you to able to step up. However, in today's new kind of ranking system, you must have obtain an enough amount of merit  for you to able to step up in a new rank. This new rule only imply that you must have create an interesting yet informative quality post for you to receive a merit. Now having these merit will brought out our effort to make some quality post, so that as that time comes for us to rank up this all effort will be worth.
1912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How my bitcoins were nailed down in my grandfather's garage. on: July 25, 2020, 02:08:22 PM
Sounds silly  Grin. Who would have though to nail and use a hard drive as a tool holder? But anyway what's done is done. You should accept the truth that you have lost what you have earned. Besides, you never know how big Bitcoin will be at that time to be in fact it can be only compared on a penny so you never put so much importance on it and I can't blame you, honestly, if I were in your situation I would probably did the same.

It is a sad past but you gotta live up for it, besides it will never be too late so you can build up once again.
1913  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please help me. on: July 24, 2020, 03:40:57 PM
I want to study BTC.
Oh welcome here in the forum. It seems you were already in a good place where you can learn all the things you must know regards with cryptocurrencies. But as a reminder, crypto would not guarantee to solve your financial problem in a short amount of time. This requires a lot time, effort and experience. Crypto now is not like good old days where you could get so much rewards in bounty campaigns.
One last thing, begging was against the rules this forum so I'm glad that you edit it out.

1914  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any tips or idea to earn money without investment or inviting friends. Need help on: July 23, 2020, 02:05:48 PM
Any tips or idea to earn money without investment or inviting friends. Need help beginner here thank you in advance God bless.
Well there's still a lot of ways to earn rewards without placing any investment, however, you should make sure that you have talent or skills that will help you to earn in crypto world. If have any talent in making such art, you could probably sell them for Bitcoin and just like what have others recommend, if you have any talent in making any multimedia art such logos then that would be great.
Having knowledge and skills in programming or maintaining websites would really put you in advantages because I believe that this is one the most high paying job specially in this kind of environment.
1915  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Non-risky investments on: July 22, 2020, 02:13:51 PM
Hi. I'm looking to explore non-risky investments that can pull a decent return. I'm not looking for extremely long term, like decades, but I'm not looking short term either. Investment ideas outside of bitcoin are also very welcome.

I doubt that you can able to find an investment that doesn't have risk attached on it whether it is outside of cryptocurrency or not. Upon seeking profit through different ways such as trading and investment risk is inevitable specially in crypto knowing of having unstable behavior. Besides, risk can be in good terms sometimes, just like what others said the higher the risk it has the more profit it will have. Hence, if you are looking for non-risky way of earning probably investment wasn't an option.
1916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investment in a wrong way on: July 20, 2020, 02:18:13 PM
Definitely, research must be conducted first before throw oneself into any kind investment or trade whether it is in crypto or not. However, even though we made these such thing called "research" it doesn't necessarily mean you will always have a desirable result because sometimes or should I say most of the time crypto always pull something unexpected, that could give us a sweet outcome or something we wouldn't like. And that was the reason why crypto is popular because of the risk it has and just for us to manage the risk, being patient could be a great help.
1917  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It's ok if your profits are less on: July 19, 2020, 02:27:16 PM
Though I could have got more profit I am not sad since I got at least a little profit.
I know I would have been more happier if the price would have decreased after I sold but I am not sad that it instead increased.
So guys, it's ok if your profits are less. You are at least making profits while things could have gone the other way around.
Honestly, I am very impressed on the way how you think. I've been in that situation before but unlike you I felt regret for being impatient that lead me to sell my coins at very low price. But anyway, you were right it doesn't matter whether you will have a big profit or not that much as long as you are earning. Well technically, it does really important for most of us but in this industry it really hard to predict how the market or a certain coin will behave hence, if you have seen an opportunity and you think you will able to gain some profit then don't hesitate to take it.
1918  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade isn’t for Me guys. on: July 16, 2020, 02:22:33 PM
My Luck is not for Trading, I think Trading is not for Me.  I try it many time, and i understand that trade isn’t for me. Every time i lost my Satoshi on Buy/Selling,  becouse i haven’t any expression about Coin Chart, buy, sell and about more.

First of all you don't need any luck upon your trade mate. Trading is all about skills and experience, hence if you have one of this or both then you'll never have a problem dealing with these things.
I know trading is complicated but there are some learning materials across the internet that could help and use them to learn. Personally, I also don't have enough knowledge with these thing only I know was the basic and to be in fact I can barely read the chart. So basically, I have lot yet to learn so are you, all we need to do is persevere and have patience in learning them.
1919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forget bounties and Airdrops on: July 13, 2020, 03:39:51 PM
Well looking to the current situation we have now, bounties and airdrops are now kind of outdated for having such a good profit. Mostly, the profit you could get out of them is just worth of a pennies or dime. However, there are still some projects who capable of giving a decent income, though you can hardly find it.
What OPs list provided was really a good thing to earn such a copious amount of specially in this field however, I think that some folks will find it sophisticated and would not capable of doing such things.
And for some reason I believe some of them are just using these bounties just for an extra income.
1920  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A good book to learn how to trade. on: July 13, 2020, 02:33:35 PM
Though I am not fond of reading books, I would really say that it is a good source of knowledge.

Personally, I prefer way more to read few articles online rather than reading a book due to the fact that online has vast amount articles to pick on however in terms of credibility I guess books got that one. Now from what I say earlier, in this case in my opinion: knowledge acquired from books, e-book, online articles or whatsoever would not be enough to fully understand how trading works. Sometimes you need to try it yourself, you should try it in actual for you to able to know what it feels like. Just like on the quote I have read that "experience is the best teacher.".
