After Merit Backscratchers: who scratched who's back the most?, I now present: Trust Selfscratchers: who scratched his own back the most?
A "Trust Selfscratcher" is someone who received positive feedback from a user, and has included said user on his Trust list. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can be, especially if someone included almost all users who left him positive feedback. If that user is on DT1, leaving him positive feedback can be used to become DT2, and that's undesirable when done for the wrong reasons. Moreover, the DT1-member is artificially inflating his own positive Trust score (unless another DT1 also included the same user). I have made 3 categories: users on DT1, users on DT2, and all other users who manually included someone on their Trust list. The DT1-category is the most urgent category, and the other categories can be used as "early warning" for future problems in case users move up on the DT-ladder. ExampleI've noticed Dabs before, and he is indeed on top of the DT1 Selfscratchers list. He currently has +42 positive DT-feedbacks, and if I exclude him to see the difference (don't test this on a DT1-account!), he has only +7 left. I'm not sure if this needs to change, I'm just showing the data for public scruteny :P Compare this to #2 (greenplastic): He currently has +47 positive DT-feedbacks, and if I exclude him, he still has +39 left. For the Top Selfscratchers on DT2 it's easy to see how much their trust score would go up if they'd make it to DT1. PsychoticBoy for example has +12 positive DT-feedbacks, and included a whopping 88 users who left him positive feedback. If he's become DT1, he'd instantly be very high up the Most Trusted list. At the non-DT category (labeled "other"), the top Selfscratchers are even more extreme. Solution?The negative effects of Selfscratching could be mitigated by requiring 2 DT1 inclusions to be on DT2.
