1921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: August 09, 2017, 03:21:04 AM
Well, to me I don't completely agree with you to some extent that people invest in bitcoin because they have no permanent job doing. So many people that I know who have a full time job here is this forum for an additional source of income. Employed or unemployed all center around how to make money or bitcoin and take care of your financial obligations.

for unemployed people, bitcoin can be their places to make money but for people which have a job and payment, bitcoin can be their places to investment and finally to make money. with many opportunity that bitcoin can gives, its attract many people to learn about bitcoin and trying to earn bitcoin using the free way and i think the unemployed people can make their money too like other people.

True. I just want to add that those who have job treat Bitcoin not just an investment but an alternative way of earning koney like a sideline. Since Bitcoin is very convenient to use, it enables them to devote their extra time in earning more especially those who has a job but have a salary that is not enough to support their family.
1922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: July 28, 2017, 05:17:16 PM
Since bitcoin is trending now world wide because you can easily earn this and it exchange in real cash. Is bitcoin the new value of currency in the internet? Is he the new money? Can we use it in buying foods and etc in the future?

A possibility. It really depends on how will it gain a mass adoption and the developments. Don't entertain ideas that Bitcoin will make fiats disappear since it is another thing and certainly it would not happen but I will not elaborate it. You can also take Japan for example and Hotels and also restaurants around the world who accepted Bitcoin which you can look up in google but only a few though it will surely increase.
1923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: What do you think will happen with bitcoin in August after the fork on: July 28, 2017, 05:12:36 PM
Some people that are not living under a rock know that bitcoin is going to hard fork come August first. After two weeks, when the dust settles we should have more clarity on the results of this split of the blockchain. I want to poll all BitcoinTalk members to see their perspective on this fork. Do you see gloom and doom or do you see opportunity and exciting times coming.

Please vote so we can have a sample of the community.

I think you lack one choice that is "there will be no fork." It is not guaranteed that there will be a fork but rather a possibility. Also we can say that all for sure (regarding your poll and choices) since we don't have the grounds to say what will be better, which will gain a lot of attention, or  anything which will make your poll inaccurate.
1924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: July 28, 2017, 05:06:28 PM
What makes people compel to hold the bitcoin in this critical situation? What are they waiting for? Any good reason?

First of all, that is not the right way to use a poll. Second, people trust that Bitcoin will generate them more income and multiply their money in the future based on the facts, news, developments which hinted that Bitcoin's price would continue to rise hence the value of Bitcoin that they had invested would rise. As simple as that.
1925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I cash out my BTC now? on: July 28, 2017, 05:01:24 PM
Dude. I suggest doing your own research and decide yourself. Don't rely on other people's choices and or decisions. Or maybe look at previous threads here and in other forums, and also on reddit. I've seen too much threads like this to be honest.

Truth be told. You can't rely on other people to what choices you make but rather you decide by the facts, news, developments which hints what will happen since people's opinion doesn't matter in this case.
1926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not dead yet but should be. on: July 28, 2017, 04:58:05 PM
I just wasted 3 minutes reading that crappy article.  Grin

Quote
Bitcoin Refuses to Just Die Already
Such an ugly title. Content is worthless. Nothing but a deliberate attempt by author to grab attention by intentionally using a sensational title.
It's all just, "according to blah blah blah", "blah blah reported", and then some unnamed "financial experts blah blah blah".

Just another trashy 'news site'.  Shocked

So I want to say thanks and I will not proceed in reading that. Here's my view regarding the lifeline of Bitcoin which in fact is based on how it fight itself and the trust of the users. These tqo things shaped Bitcoin and will make Bitcoin live because if not then it will be the end.
1927  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: July 28, 2017, 04:54:21 PM
If given a chance then I would choose to work in both places. Working on bitcoin does make more money, but I can not ensure old age guarantees. I understand that when we can be in two places I can work fully with my heart. I am always focused and strive to work fairly and fulfill all the duties I have.
That's very good working while looking for Bitcoin but i think it would be very draining.

for the sake of old age insurance then we can work in the real world (work offline) but By looking for Bitcoin you can also open old-age insurance(Independently)

If we are talkinh that you are in the age where you have enough energy to do both then why not since it is not a matter of earning more but to stay in a safe side and balace it out with volatility in bitcoin and stability in your job in real world.

If your old or just enough where you wish to retire and your children had finished their studies then you can treat Bitcoin as a retirement work or qhatever you call it.
1928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confidence Returning to Bitcoin? on: July 28, 2017, 04:51:15 PM
...

I have looked over several threads here at bitcointalk, and it looks like SegWit is slowly being implemented (or planned for, or whatever) AND the price just ticked to (about) $2300, some $450 (or more) off its recent lows.

This suggests to me that confidence is returning to Bitcoin.

But, this might be just a bear trap, especially if anything goes wrong around August 1.

Yep. There are two interpretations which can be a positive one or negative. But if we go in a positive side then we will see a much higher price of Bitcoin which has a high chance to reach $3000. In negative, it will depend on how you trust which will do better and will gain a greater momentum but if you don't trust or unsure then you are free to convert them into fiat then buy which Bitcoin that will bring you profit when you have decided.
1929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THE BEST BITCOIN WALLET on: July 28, 2017, 04:46:26 PM
For a Filipino like me, coins.ph is the only wallet that suits for any bitcoin users in Philippines, it converts bitcoin into fiat then can withdraw it at atm even without a card, and most of all supported by many products and companies.
That is a good choice to use in a daily basis for payments and otber stuff like recharging your phone.
But you shouldn't store all your Bitcoins in a online wallet because there is always the risk of losing all your coins in case of a security breach. I suggest you to leave low amounts of BTC to spend when you need, and store the majority of your coins in a wallet like Electrum or Mycelium just for safety.
It is quite normal to deal with risk in the world of Bitcoin. And I agree that if you deal with storing of Bitcoin you should not stick on just one wallet because in order for you to lessen the risk you should also have option in term is holdings. And as much as your choices of wallet need to depends on the specific transaction you will do such as trading and investment where you need to deals with price monitor not just on converting Bitcoin to fiat. So the thing is wallet choice need also to depend on the transaction you will made.

Actually the number of wallets where you store your bitcoins has nothing to do to lessen the risk but the right choice of wallet, to use those wallets efficiently. Online wallet such as mentioned above is a good one to pay your bills but not as a storage which like the person who also stated above to be stored in Electrun or Mycelium which is a hardware and lightweight wallet respectively since you have full control of your bitcoins.
1930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hard fork has been adverted! Breaking NEWS! on: July 22, 2017, 10:19:04 AM
so 1st aug means nothing now!!!!!

Nope. We can't say that for sure. We can affirm this if the August 1 will arrive or pass. The article has not provide enough details and facts to put our hearts at ease but still considering that 80% had voted with it then 20% should think hard not to damage what Bitcoin is today in the decision that they will make. Anyway, as of now, we can't really tell unless we have access to the minds of the 20% who voted against it.
1931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halvening! Can I buy Bitcoins at this high price? on: July 22, 2017, 10:03:09 AM
I guess you made your point about this, because a lot of these people just read the heading and not the content and started to comment on it. I am not one of those as you can see and I try to comment on topic with information that are relevant and constructive.

To answer the core of you question, that is relevant to Bitcoin :  Wink Yes, Anytime is a good time to buy, because we do not know what will happen with the Bitcoin price in the future. ^smile^

See not ALL signature campaign members are spammers, some of us just take that as a added bonus for the time we spend here posting constructive content and discussing related Bitcoin topics.

Also it's funny how the OP proves his point with these stupid people. LOL

I expect for Full Member and lower ranks to fall in this bait but surprisingly even Hero Members even bite into it. Before I reply, I tale a quick glance to the OP then the topic title then I find it suspicious but that doean't mean I don't read the content rather it is a way for me to judge if I continue reading it or not since I ex0ect for it to be nonsense.
1932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The "I cannot afford 1 BTC"-Problem on: July 22, 2017, 09:57:00 AM
Frankly, they need to change their mindset because 0.1 is a great value or 0.01 is something that is affordable and 0.0001 is also a fair and small amount. Maybe they wish to convert it to USD so they can see the real value to it and sooner or later if they don't decide quickly then they will surely miss the opportunity.
1933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto on: July 22, 2017, 09:52:38 AM
I think Satoshi Nakamoto to stay as it is i.e. to let his identity to be hidden is for the sake of himself and the entire Bitcoin world. There are many speculations but I wish that these speculations will also stay as it is though they may continue to disprove each others speculation but prove will be unlikely and should be unlikely to happen.
1934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: July 22, 2017, 09:47:22 AM
can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?
It is possible, 100%. That is if you don't have sufficient security measures. If you adopt good security measures, the chances are next to zero. Bitcoin don't have any vulnerability that allows anyone to guess your private key with a fair amount of computing power.

If you want to safeguard yourself, you have to create a cold storage. Multisig won't work at all if all the addresses are generated on the same computer.

Bitcoin is impregnable but those wallet especially hot wallets is prone to hack that is if they have low security measurement which really did already happen. You can search for it. I am not sure if it is because of their incompetence or they just feel safe which lead their site or hot wallet to their demise.
1935  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: July 22, 2017, 09:41:58 AM
Hi, I was wondering if I should quit my job and focus more on bitcoins? Because I think it might get me even richer without a job?  Grin

Are you sure of that? How will you make sure that you will take more profit by Bitcoin compared to your job? I think that to be in the safe side and earn more is to keep your job while also doing Bitcoin. Cryptoworld is full of risks and we need to balance it out with sure stable income which will put you in the safe side and earn a lot by doing both.
1936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The superiority of Bitcoin on: July 22, 2017, 09:24:09 AM
BTC direct competitor are mainly LTC, Monero, Zcash and Dash. Zcash has the highest market value at this point of time. I personally think that LTC might have the potential to catch up the most now that the coin creator is back working on LTC again. The main problem with BTC is that BTC has grown too big and too fast which result in high transaction speed and fees. I do believe that BTC has to solve all these problems before there will be a mass adoption for using the currency. However that is not easy because for BTC to solve these problem, BTC has to go through some very tough soft or hard fork (decisions) which majority of BTC holders won't agree to (a big part of them are in for investment rather than doing good for the world). That would brings us back to BTC direct competitors eventually.

But there are no real competitor that Bitcoin has rather than Bitcoin itself. The problems that Bitcoin is facing is the real competition that it should win that is as long as it goes with the demand and maintain its standings with developments to suit people's need then I would say Bitcoin will continue to reign. This, I believe, is the lifeline of Bitcoin.
1937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The superiority of Bitcoin on: July 22, 2017, 09:20:08 AM
There are alternatives to bitcoin, and some of them are very big, like Ethereum or Litecoin. However, no such alternative has matched the value of bitcoin, in terms of market cap. Bitcoin shares much less of the total cryptocurrency cap now than it did a while ago, but I do not think it will be overtaken for some time, if ever.

I believe so that is if and surely it won't happen soon. If somehow in the future where Bitcoin has changed and what people made them love it would disappear or somehow offers more than what Bitcoin can offer then people would go what is the best. Still, Bitcoin will not be forgotten since it is where Cryptoworld sparks and blockchain technology been introduced.
1938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will you sell your BitcoinABC or hold on to it? on: July 22, 2017, 09:13:16 AM
Did Bitcoin Classic and Bitcoin XT surged in price already? Or achieved anything significant? Obviously no, and since ABC, Segwit2X, BU all have weak developers, those forks aren't going to succeed. Your comparison with ETH/ETC is entirely wrong, as the price of ETC increased as a part of altcoin bubble, it has showed 200-300% growth since Auguest, but ETH increased up to 600% in that time, so it's obvious now that it was better to sell ETC and buy ETH. Besides, it's wrong to extrapolate the outcomes of forks on other coins into Bitcoin, every situation is unique and has it's own driving forces.

Also Bitcoin shouldn't be compared to any other alt coins. This actually depends on how people will adapt it and who gains more popularity as time goes by since it hasn't happened yet and we are unsure if it will happen. We can judge it base on how scalable it is and the capabilities that each Bitcoin can present.
1939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: July 14, 2017, 08:54:25 AM
Hi guys Smiley May I know what are your plans on your Bitcoin in the future? Do you plan to keep on investing on Bitcoin related businesses or do plan to convert it into fiat and ventures on new business?

I'm planning to invest more on Bitcoin related companies and convert some of my Bitcoin into fiat and invest it on our local stock market. How about you?

For me, I will just save and save the bitcoins that I earned and once I gain enough then I will try to think of a business to establish in the real world and maybe also in the cyberworld. I want to have some achievements in the physical world and something that will keep me busy otger than cryptoworld.
1940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IF YOU BOUGHT $5 OF BITCOIN 7 YEARS AGO, YOU’D BE $4.4 MILLION RICHER on: July 14, 2017, 02:42:22 AM
why go so far away back in time like this? it just makes everyone feel regretful in my opinion. lets stick to more recent events.. for example if you had bought any amount of bitcoin about 7 months ago, you would have more than doubled your money already! Cool

Your spin on it makes sense but unless you look back you cannot learn from mistakes and guide for the future. That is my opinion.

That's true. I had learned in the past and to trust Bitcoin and be wise in making decisions since I had lost that opportunity too or to the new ones out there to not follow the mistakes of most of the people in the past. The past teaches us lessons which will guide us to our future encounters. But he also has a point to stick with the recent ones since I think the posts like this are enough to make people realize that they should've entered Bitcoin earlier or hold it.
