1921  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 21, 2023, 08:34:01 AM
Hey everyone. What are some of your wealth secrets that you could share with us?

Buying homes with cash and taking loans out on it?

Setting up trust funds in foreign countries and setting offshore corporations to avoid capital gains and taxation? (Sorry tax avoidance for any LEO reading this)

What are your secrets?

For me, it's buying a few luxury products but also knowing that it will be profitable after a few years. It may seem like I'm wasting time money on buying luxury goods here and there to look good and jump on the trend, but if you look at that side of the market you'll see just how much high end products can cost even if they are sold secondhand. If lucky, I get a few collector's items too.
1922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 20, 2023, 11:46:58 PM

anyone deposited very less amount and luckily won a big jackpot like a 100x or 500x or 1000x of base bet and withdrawn without kyc or without facing any problem from the platform?

if yes, how much was that amount? and what was the exchange?

i seen many people complaining about they don't give big wins easily or just don't give by making unanswerable queries like very hard KYC, freezing accounts, etc. this problem is very common with trusted casino's also/

do anyone withdrawn successfully the winning amount and if yes what was the process, it was seamless or you need to pass a hard kyc?
The thing is that you can only pull off stunts like this every once in a while and only on casinos that are reputable. Some of these casinos out there (I wouldn't drop names) would freeze your account after discovering that you beat them, while some will pull of insane KYC requirements just to stall out and make the prospect of ever getting your win seem impossible. This is still pretty much possible, you just have to know how to play your cards well first and foremost. While I myself have not done this, Reputable sites like Stake.com will more than willingly give you your wins after passing their very easy KYC verification test. So yeah, just choose the right casino to pull this stunt off and you should be good to go my friend.

KYC verification really is needed, specially from reputable sites. However, I agree that some casinos out there will easily freeze an account that beats their system as they see this as a lost in their part. Knowing which casino to use and playing your cards right will have to be the safest bet here.
1923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 20, 2023, 11:11:50 PM
When you are a gambling addict, your type and personality, your family and friends have been affected by gambling addiction, it is quite difficult to get rid of it.
It will be a long process before you can overcome it for sure, and the support of your own families and close friends is what you need to overcome that vice. Because you need to rehab yourself when that's the case, but if you're not at the level of being an addict, it's easy to get out of there for sure.

Exactly. It all comes down to the question of just how deep you are in gambling already. Much like anything we get addicted to, we will have relapse and quitting will be harder as compared to those who are only doing gambling in an adequate amount.
1924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of rewards/bonuses do you prefer? on: July 20, 2023, 10:29:42 PM
The type of rewards/bonuses doesn’t matter at all because gamblers is looking on the requirements rather than the reward itself. A 1$ bonus in any form without any wagering requirements is better than a 100 bucks with high wagering requirements that is very hard to claim. Gamblers usually not interested on the bonus once the saw the requirements while some that got excited usually regret they action after seeing the requirements.

Make the requirements friendly even with low amount reward. I’m sure many will be interested to participate on your promotion.

I agree. The attraction for getting bonuses wouldn't be effective if the requirements to get that will be too hard. Gamblers will just turn away and not mind that reward no matter how big or good of a reward it is. It just wouldn't be enough compared to the effort needed in order to claim those rewards.
1925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: July 20, 2023, 09:52:54 PM
Everyone is free to give his own interpretation on women interaction with gambling but what we will all arrived at is that we cannot compare the rate of women participation to that of men in gambling, maybe we can give some reasons like how women were believed to be weaker vessels unlike men in most cases, their dedication and commitments to the house and the family especially in taking care of the children at home, lastly maybe our women may not have that boldness of taking risk associated to gambling because some depends on their earnings to take care of the family.

I agree, specially to the single mothers out there who will have to think about the family finances first. Moreover, women in general have a lot more things to buy and put their money to in comparison to men. I also think it has to do with a mindset that some women have which is -- gambling will be too much of risk for their hard earned money.
1926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: July 20, 2023, 09:29:13 PM
The only time I did this was with betcoin.tm, a now-defunct gambling website that has a wheel that you spin to get prizes. This was in 2015, and I managed to turn 0.01 btc to 1.5 btc in a single-day, though I had to wait a week for me to get the prize as they are 'validating' the win through whatever means that they did. It was quite a fun process to win that amount although claiming the win isn't. Most casinos nowadays will take a few days or even weeks for them to release a big payout out of a small amount. If anyone ever won that today, and get their prize without problem, it usually is from an amount that has deposited a lot in the casino and has a reputable standing on their platform.
1927  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Union bank nagdeploy na ng ATM machine na dollar bills on: July 20, 2023, 02:40:08 PM
Hindi naman siguro para maging currency naten. I guess it's more on the convenience para sa mga tourists and other people na need ng dollars. After all may mga foreign stores na dollars naman ang currency for rates. Also, siguro para na rin sa mga mag iibang bansa so less hassle na mag convert pa sila.
1928  Economy / Economics / Re: Building a prosperous business on: July 20, 2023, 12:11:51 PM
Op need not post the content of the whole article he just has to extract a part of the article and then make a reference to the article

This reminds me of those finance youtubers and influencers, who actually get rich by selling you a course on how to get rich, they weren't rich before.

This is so popular in social media, especially on Tiktok and Youtube, there is a big demand for courses about how to get rich if we check these influencers they have many followers and they have many shares and likes, they are making money from teaching money how to get rich this is probably the best way to get rich, you do not only get rich and you've also become popular.

I have noticed this as well. They somehow found a way to earn just by sharing a few tips here and there. What is funny is some of these influencers doesn't even have any actual background in doing and handling any business. Really smart tho, their strategy works and as long as they keep their audience engaged and interested then it will keep working for them.
1929  Economy / Economics / Re: How much food can you store for survival?3 on: July 20, 2023, 10:52:25 AM
I'm thinking the same since the crisis is resulting to food shortage. I'm even thinking of moving first to my cousin who live near the lake. Where we could have unlimited fish to catch. And if in case there really is a war coming. Really worried if all these will escalate to a level where there is no U turn. You never know how long it will take.

Don't you think a water purifier will give you more advantage than keeping 100liters?  I'm thinking of putting all the stored food inside a van where you can travel with you wife because this is what I have in mind.

The more you could store I think if you go for dried food vs canned goods. I tried some in a vacuumed plastic and put them all storage box, this will keep you more than 30 days.  But of course you  still need some canned goods. First aid kit and medicines like antibiotic and for flu. I could be overthinking this already but its best to prepare.

I was thinking of dried food as well. It's easier to consume and store, also allows you a bigger space for other food supplies since it will only take a small portion for storage.

And yes, it is always better to be ready or at least just have a general idea of what to do in case something such as what op posted happens.
1930  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 20, 2023, 10:24:45 AM

If given the choice, would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin, digital assets, gold, stocks, or real estate?

It’s simple I would prefer to invest in something I have substantial knowledge and experience on. The issue with investment most at times is people tend to invest in what they do not have knowledge about even if that business is lucrative, without proper knowledge it will not yield the desired profits.

Bitcoin which is my pick is easier is to understand and doesn’t need middle man in terms of purchase and selling. It is also a future asset that has the ability to grow in future

This is true. Investment is a thing that should be done with proper knowledge and background. It will be hard to actually make profit and earn if you are doing it cluelessly. We shouldn't risk our assets and money for something we are not sure about.
1931  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: July 20, 2023, 09:29:03 AM
In short you're just telling to people: inflation in fiat will make your fiat worthless, invest in precious metal or Bitcoin.

Well almost everyone already aware and know that, but they're just feel more comfortable to hold fiat in banks rather than precious metal or Bitcoin. This because they think precious metal and Bitcoin has a volatility that would make their investment value decrease. They're just scared, but we can't do anything since it's their choice. At least I'm the one who hold most of my money in Bitcoin rather than fiat and precious metal.

I agree. As much as we want to teach them about Bitcoin for them to save more money during inflation, we can't force people to trust a system they are not familiar with for their hard earned money. They may understand what we are pointing at but to some of them being more comfortable with a system they are familiar with is more important than diving in to a new system where they are asked to risk the money they worked hard to gain.
1932  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: July 20, 2023, 06:32:31 AM
Inflation is really biting hard, and nobody is doing anything about it, should we all just go with what Tupac said, "that's just the way it is, things will never be the same".
A lot of person's have ascribed this global inflation to the crisis Rocking Ukraine and Russia,  a lot of person's have also said it's as a result of shortage of gas supply across Europe and other countries.
The whole story is not just clear, as to why inflation is biting so hard and IMF AND WORLD BANK are not doing anything about it and the people are just left to face their fate alone.
The prices of goods and services are constantly going astronomical high and there is no hope insight of this ugly situation coming to a halt.

The purchasing powers of citizens are getting weak and I don't understand if the consumer protection laws are even effective anymore this days.
You buy something for a certain amount today, in the next one week, that same item you bought  has charged Prince without any reason.
How are you guys pulling it through with this inflation?

I should say inflation is here to stay. We can somehow reduced or minimize it but we can’t totally make it vanish in the thin air. So if you won’t do nothing about it, then you will forever be living your life struggling with your finances. That’s why bitcoin is here, not to completely free us from inflation, but to somehow deal inflation like it can’t totally affect our lives. With bitcoin, the price is not controlled by the government or any third party, so expect that it’s price will only depend on its supply and demand, and not because it will also surge high since everything around have turned very costly and expensive.

I agree. You have to do something about it now, instead of waiting and hoping that inflation will magically disappear. If you don't do anything now then it's like you're ironically waiting for a permanent problem to somehow just disappear.
1933  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: July 20, 2023, 06:04:06 AM
There are many diverse opinions about following one's passion and wealth. I read two stories of people who followed their passion, and in a short period of time, the businesses became very profitable.

In story 1, Defossey left a job at Apple to open a BBQ restaurant in Mexico City. It made $9 million in sales last year. In story 2, Sean Audet, a 30-year-old, spent $0 launching a food photography side hustle, and now he brings in $134,000 a year.

The people in these stories followed their passion and created wealth through it. What is your opinion on following one's passion in relation to wealth? Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? If yes, what is stopping you from following it?

There are many more passionate and successful stories like the two you mentioned above. But not everyone who follows their passion will have such success, not every pursuit of your passion will be rewarded. I am a witness to following my passion but with no good results. I used to want to be a hairstylist, but while pursuing my passion, I encountered more economic difficulties than the advantages I had dreamed of. But when I switched to another field that I didn't love, it brought me a lot of money. For me, with a difficult life like now, as long as I have a job that helps me earn a lot of money, I will pursue it, I am no longer passionate about my passions. Because passion cannot be more important than wife and children and family.

With the different situations we have it is true that following our passion can lead to different results. Some may thrive and some may have to look for other outlets for their financial needs. Perhaps in a more ideal world, we can all pursue our passion while making money not only for our needs and the demands of our lifestyle, but also to dive in deeper to that passion.
1934  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it easier for an E-hailing company to move into food delivery? on: July 20, 2023, 04:18:01 AM
Instead of moving I'd use the word adapting. E-hailing company are able to do that because they already have the man power and vehicle to do that job. Fast food chains or restaurants, on the other hand, will have to hire their own drivers/riders and get their own vehicles for it. Moreover, they also have to pay these rider/drivers the same salary as their regular employees. With the many food delivery options on the go like Uber eats around then I'm sure they would rather do that instead.
1935  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to understood our world economy here is the example on: July 20, 2023, 01:42:31 AM
I think most people have a general understanding how economy work, like a preexisting knowledge either from school or just browsing the internet for information and news. However, completely grasping the ins and outs of world economy may differ from these preexisting knowledge and perspective as the system of economy may be viewed differently in various ways.
1936  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: July 20, 2023, 12:54:50 AM
In a way population has an impact regarding the economic status of a country. However, it mostly comes down to the way government officials handles the overpopulation or underpopulation state of a nation. For example, countries like China and India shows that despite their known overpopulated country they are still able to boost their economic status, whereas other countries that are reaching peek overpopulation are simultaneously facing the problem of poverty.
1937  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Rise of Crypto Gambling: What You Need to Know on: July 19, 2023, 11:59:05 PM
I'm not quite sure about our information being more secure in crypto casinos. There's tons of leaks and data breaches happening daily, and some of them include crypto casino accounts, personal information, etc. I guess, what crypto gambling really brought forth to the table is its ease of access and overall ease of registration and getting KYC-accepted. Apart from that, I don't see anything that crucial which separates fiat online casinos from crypto casinos, at least at this point in time.
1938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 19, 2023, 11:46:24 PM
Quest is still strong without ATF but it's possible that ATF was the brain during all of their run.

Quest esport is the only team that won 3-0 ( 6-0 ) for their first 3 games and currently Xtreme Gaming won the 1st map against them. I thought they could make a clean sweep for today then advance to the group stage on the very first day.

I thought for sure that Quest will be quite handicapped since ATF is one of their playmakers before. Good thing they made it work with Malik, and they still look incredibly in form albeit not really finding their rhythm during the early stages of their games. Hopefully though they continue this run and form up until the TI season. They're really a good team with ATF, and they understand the meta quite well I must say.
1939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mistake that prevented your big win. on: July 19, 2023, 11:28:09 PM
There is one on an esports tournament way back 2021. If I didn't add that team on a parlay that I was cooking, I could have won $3000 from a $100 bet. That’s the largest prize I could have won, but I have to be greedy and add a 1.76x event that I’m not 100% certain on. It really is greediness that drives us to a lot of bad decisions which, in turn, results to a negative experience or results for ourselves and our activities.

To this day, I’m still kicking myself for it, but hey, it’s a learning experience.
1940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 19, 2023, 11:00:40 PM
Not all quitters are winners and not all winners are quitters. Perhaps if you're into deep into gambling, quitting might actually be winning for you. You get to prevent a lot of unnecessary spending and a lot of possible negative emotions that may arise during your next gambling sessions.

It shouldn't be taken too literal, and that's what everyone should take into account. Quitting something doesn't automatically default you to a loss and that's what people should understand more.
