What process do you use to generate an address from a private key?

I would just use the source of Bitaddress https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org/archive/master.zip and enter it in the Wallet Details tab.
1966  Economy / Lending / Re: Am about to go homeless, could use some help on: June 13, 2014, 11:41:15 AM
Dank I dont understand why dont u get a job?  how hard is it for you, why you have to ask others to be your backbone, when you in face have bad reputation on here already.

I am setting the example because no one else has the balls to do it their self.

We are enslaved and I will not willingly enslave myself as a corporate slave.

Dude, time is money. Stop wasting your time on here and go provide for yourself.
Also, you're a lot better off being homeless in America than you are in third world countries like Haiti.

1970  Economy / Lending / Re: Apply for a $10 Loan--- COLLATERAL REQUIRED---- on: June 12, 2014, 12:18:48 AM
when lenders lend without any collateral, I'm noticing yall aren't getting paid back and are chasing the borrowers. Obviously, I won't need to chase them. Hope, it doesn't come to that.

Well, what makes your loaning topic better than the other ones?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615298.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=629877.0

So, we offer loans WITH COLLATERAL REQUIRED.  Our rates are about 100x better than yours, and we have more trust Smiley  Did I mention a much bigger loan amount as well?

I understand that you may be new here, but I suggest you at least offer competitive terms and prices with the other microloan topics.

Cheers!
If people have alt coins, and use them as collateral, thats great. This is for people who want to get their hands on bitcoins FAST, and QUICK. And I'll get paid back in 72 hours. If anyone doesn't want to use their account as collateral, then thats cool. If so, I'm the man. Again, it's $10 loans.

I'll use a trusted escrow, and the borrower would still need to create a youtube account asking for $10 and holding up the qr code to their bitcoin address, and the way they will pay me back in 72 hours.

Sign a message with an address that holds more than $100 worth of BTC.
1971  Other / Meta / Re: Post your BTC Address here, in case your forum account is hacked. on: June 11, 2014, 11:29:15 PM
So 14 replies, not even one posted a BTC address in this thread. Why not just send an address under your control to another user? Pretty sure admins can see PMs.

I doubt they'd want to waste their time verifying stuff like this.

It doesn't look like they have a site at the moment.
Link to their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/LucKyWriting

OP, I could design you a site for pretty cheap if you'd like.

I'm picking #435.
1977  Economy / Services / Re: How much do you reckon accounts here are worth? on: June 11, 2014, 10:44:15 PM
7-10 BTC since you can make up that much in a few months, and rep is priceless  Wink

Whaaat!?  You would sell for that much?  I'm seriously considering how much my account is worth then, haha Tongue

70-100 BTC? :3  Something that the account buyers can't afford, that's my goal!

I wouldn't sell mine for any less than 103  Roll Eyes
1978  Economy / Services / Re: How much do you reckon accounts here are worth? on: June 11, 2014, 10:41:10 PM
Full Members tend to go for around 0.1-0.2, Snrs for around 0.3-0.6, and Heroes for around 0.7-1btc, but more and more people seem to be selling accounts these days so prices might be a little lower.

Weird how low they are going for. It's almost like you'd profit by buying a hero account and signing up for campaigns, you'd ROI in at least one month.

exactly, it is weird how low they are going for. if you would buy a hero account and do all these campaigns you would get that money back easily.

I wouldn't like seeing a bunch of Hero and Senior members who are really newbies spamming the board. It kinda defeats the purpose of the titles.

That is true, but seeing as selling accounts is apparently allowed, this is bound to happen. I hope that at least no one will fall for any big scams from bought hero member accounts.

I tend to mine through members' posts to see if I see any inconsistencies, weird post patterns or grammatical changes upon the release of new services.
1979  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Ultimate Help Thread! on: June 11, 2014, 10:33:12 PM
Let me know if that answers your question (:
It sure did Smiley. To be honest, I knew the difference, but wanted to get this thread started. I'll just ask some stuff that I find interesting to get another opinion, so feel free to ignore my posts if other do actually need help.

Ok, next question: There are rumors that Satoshi has ~ 1 mil. BTC. How can we be sure?

We're not sure, it's an estimation. Here's block one. http://blockr.io/block/info/1. For weeks he was testing the system and basically mining alone. If you calculate 50 bitcoins every 10 minutes for the whole period, you can guess how many Bitcoins he and the other early miners have. I'll have to do some more research on the technicalities but I think it's safe to say he has held a ton. One thing we're not sure about is whether or not he still has the private keys for the addresses.
