For every 50 questions asked I'll be giving away a product or service!
The next one up is a $200 Amazon.com gift card.
The card will be given to a random user who's asked a question or helped others in the thread!

Interesting thread dev, Just want to know what your thoughts are on mobile wallet security? I like to put a small bit of btc on my phone (coinbase wallet) when I go out just in case I see that 'bitcoin accepted' sticker.
I use 2fa and also encrypt my phone, anything else you can think of that I should do?
I only keep a small amount on phone but I'm far from rich and don't want to loose what little btc iv got.
Keep up the goods work.

Yeah, with 2FA and encryption you should be fine with holding a small amount of Bitcoin with Coinbase. However, if you're planning on holding for the long term I'd suggest using a cold storage device such as the Trezor or a paper wallet.

Could you help me with a question of mine ? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=759087

Buying a steam wallet code can screw you over, if the seller used a stolen CC.

But can buying a steam gift implicate you in any way ? If the seller used a stolen CC, on maybe a new account, to buy a gift and give it to you ?

I would consider this a grey area. If you knowingly purchase a product that's been purchased with a stolen CC it's a felony in the US.

If you can do escrow that would be great (just for BTC). I will let you know once i have my post up and i will link you to it. Thanks.

Sounds good.
1350  Economy / Services / Re: DevScrow | Escrow Service | Biometrics & Multisig Secured | Twitter: @devscrow on: August 31, 2014, 12:08:48 AM
I am likely to start a thread selling items on the forum.

I would like to have a escrow so people can potentially ask you for a refund if i cant prove that the item was sent.

Right now i have lots of Qora that i could send to you to hold which you could liquidate if i dont send the items for whatever reason. The goods i will sell would potentially only be say 5-10%/sale of the amount of the qora BTC worth i would escrow with you.

Would you be interested in doing something like this?

I wouldn't mind providing escrow for your sales thread, but I rather not hold any alt-currencies at the moment due to security implications.
PM me if you have other ideas.

Alright, at this point I believe everyone's received their first phase ICO coins that were priced at 1000 Satoshi each.

I'm currently in possession of 14.7386383 Bitcoin.
12.18896117 held on 17J3LguB3ULW41oEDwZKrSg7e6RfWB6mYs
and the remaining amount held on multiple change addresses.

The funds held in the escrow account will be released tomorrow evening to the developer.

Let me know if anyone has any questions or comments.

Funds held in escrow released. Here's the breakdown of the transaction.
14.7386383 * 0.015 = 0.22108 (1.5% IPO Fee)
14.7386383 - 0.22108 = 14.5175583

Total release: 14.5175583BTC

TX Hash: 924d77604931c5423834ffcf89d836352cb8a11d460825d5515dcc43e051aa96
A .0005 TX fee has been included for quick confirmation.

Released to 1MtG3YTfk4atVDGPYDprix5jDknnV8MFtd

If you like how I handled the escrow for this phase 1 IPO please leave feedback on my Profile and the Official Devscrow thread

I'm looking forward to providing escrow services for each of you in the future!
Thanks.
1352  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Senior Member Account For Sale - 40+ Trust - Need to pay off Bills on: August 30, 2014, 10:57:19 PM
I was just informed by a well known Bitcointalk member that devtheved does this to everyone trying to sell their account. No Need to worry about negative trust. Some people on this site are actually honest Smiley

Do you think there's something wrong with me giving negative trust to users selling their account?
Also, what do you mean by "Some people on this site are actually honest"?

If you're selling an account it instantly gives me the idea that you don't care about the well being of the community.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Is it against the rules to sell an account?
Are you the bitcointalk.org police?

Why do you even care what he is selling or why he is selling it? Seems like you are sticking your nose in business that isn't yours to be sticking it into.

You don't know what you're talking about, likely because you're a newbie. I've seen countless other users get scammed due to accounts being sold.

And no I'm not the bitcointalk.org police I just care more about other people's wallets than this guy's.

How can I burn a cold storage wallet on a cd if I am running a live cd of ubuntu (only one cd slot avaiable)?

Have at least two cd drivers? Think there are some that are USB.

Or make a live USB instead?

That would work as well, the second method would overall be better. Faster boot, more reliable, etc.
1354  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by seandaniel for $145 on: August 30, 2014, 03:50:01 AM
I hate to be that guy.... but use escrow and it will be 100x harder to get scammed. If seller doesn't want to use escrow then that in its self is not a good sign. I think some escrow people will even do it for free these days.

I agree it's hard to tell now with accounts being sold who to trust.  I enjoyed this community in the beginning but I've been taken a couple of times.

Yep, that's the easiest way to prevent yourself from being scammed. I as well as many others, provide escrow services for free so there's no excuse for not using one.

Do you currently have an IRC channel? I'd like to join and do some verification before I release the Bitcoin held in escrow, to the developer.

Unfortunately, this is a growing problem most likely caused by accounts being sold.
You can see some of my arguments against it here

Interesting project.

Five Hours by Deorro is one of my favorites right now, but it's not really a proper beat for a rap per se.

Maidak also asked if you could send him an email to maidak@mmoclub.com. He said he can read them.

Ever heard of buying membership to receive better perks? That's basically what I'm doing. Your posts are irrelevant stay out of my threads and sales.

Being trusted by the forums already is not a "perk". if they were only getting the ability to post or access to restricted forums we would not be having this conversation. The trust portion is inseperable from the account, and is in fact what you were talking about a merchant purchasing, not some simple perks
