1981  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian University Vows to Build 7nm Chipmaking Tools on: October 24, 2022, 06:31:48 PM
So it seems russia is committing itself towards developing its own cutting edge semiconductor industry. They set a goal of developing 7 nanometer chip fabrication by the year 2028.

Analysts say russia would naturally take 10 years minimum to develop the technology from scratch as sanctions prevent them from sourcing components or data necessary to develop a 7 nm lithographic process.

So with all these economic sanctions in place, Russia is still thinking way ahead of all the other countries huh. Aside from the issue of wether they will be able to build this or not, its pretty ambitious although China might be able to do this in like 5 years or something. Even without all these sanctions, I kinda doubt that Russia will be able to outwit China in this because chip manufacture and all those cutting edge stuff related to it is already pretty much China's 'thing'

Damn! That sure must have hurt, I couldn't be more glad of not giving up point just to get Salah in and captained him

Yeah its pretty sucks but oh well its my bad after all

And more so, Nick Pope facing Tottenham being your captain, quite unlucky.

Super yikes on this one, Pope ended up giving me only 2 points so thats 4 points with the captain band. So I got 40 points this week in total and average is 48 points so its pretty close. I thought I would be getting like half from the average points although I could got way higher than the average if only I didnt forget to change my draft for the week
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 23, 2022, 10:16:18 PM
Keep in mind Transfermarket is nothing, is only a fansite, they have no inside information nor bookmakers' info.

It is just based on some people reading rumors on Twitter.

Its still based off collective rumours on the internet so good chances that it could be correct at some information ( or close to it ) though its not really as accurate as what Fabrizio tweeted or stuff like that. Pretty much a good site for someone that doesnt really have any information about any transfer rumours or speculation to start with

Take Nunez at Liverpool for example or Ronaldo at United.

Pretty sure that Nunez will be back on playing as Klopp need to try things out or else they might keep on losing. As for Ronaldo, I dont see him playing ever as a starter for some time even in Europa League though as Ten Hag is pretty strict when it comes to disciplinary action.
1984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 23, 2022, 09:28:19 PM
oh shit, how the hell did the arsenal draw? I was happy when they scored, but then the equalizer came at 65 minutes, this made me very angry, honestly after the equalizing goal I realized that Arsenal would lose points in this game and with this result

Kinda expected that to happen especially after the 2nd half start. If you look at the statistics, both sides are pretty even aside from the ball possession and both sides have quite similar goal attempts. I thought they would let Arsenal take on the initiative to attack when they equalize but Southampton decided not to stop there which makes things even harder for Arsenal

Two teams from the last chance qualifiers are still in for the last batch of games for Dota 2, The International. We're now down to the top 4 teams and the two teams that I'm saying are Team Liquid and Team Secret.

I'd totally love the grandfinals to be between Team Liquid and Team Secret. Both Matu and Puppey deserve to lift the Aegis for the 2nd time though. Matu has already announced that this is his final year for competitive dota scene and this could be Puppey's last year as well considering that he has appeared in every TI, massive achievement and so far he is the only one

So 5 days break on TI, guess we'll shift focus to Worlds instead huh
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 22, 2022, 11:16:23 PM
At this rate, Haaland will break the record.

So which record are you referring to? I am actually hoping that he would break the 100 premier league record previously hold by Alan Shearer. At this rate, he might even hit his 100th EPL goals in around 80 games or something so that means around 3 season or probably less than that. Aside from this, he could also break the record of highest number of goals scored in a season
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 22, 2022, 10:04:48 PM
When Salah looks lost in games like this, Mane makes a difference, and the decision to let Mane leave was a terrible idea, Even if some of their fan base refuses to admit it, the club would regret the priest decision at the end of the season.

Salah - Mane > KDB - Haaland

Things would have gone way differently for Liverpool if Mane stay this season. Salah needs someone to really pull up those defenders to another side while he runs in from another side just like what Mane usually did, they both done pretty much the same thing to one another but currently Salah has to do all those by himself

Imagine losing to Nottingham Forest that only scored 7 goals out of the last 12 games prior to this

I probably think Im going to take Entity -1.5 and OG -1.5 just for the sake of going with the flow because all games ended up like that so far lol
I hope you did not push through this. The opposite happened. Instead of winners sweeping the series, the series is taking all 3 games to finish. It is the exact opposite of the first two days of the main event.

Welll actually I did and it ended up losing. In my defence on taking this high risk bet, Entity never lose a single game on the regional qualifiers both against Team Secret and Team Liquid so yeah I thought they would do well against Team Liquid.

Last 4 games for tomorrow before we have a break for close to a week (?) Idk if this is correct but whats with the 1 week break though

Took these two bets for tomorrow

At least I captained Haaland, at the moment he is giving me 20 points

Oh Sucks, I was quite busy today and forgot to change my entire draft ( as well as my superbru ) so I had to stick with both Haaland and De Bruyne on the bench as well as my 5 defenders draft that I used last week. What a way to start this week, pretty bad for me right now although Trossard got 7 points this week. I could have gotten way more by now with my usual draft

I got 17 points right now, it would have been 44 by now dang it

Brighton's next games: Man City and Chelsea. Trossard believers, it's time to say goodby. e
it was nice while it lasted. i will get rid of him before the deadline.

Yikes I got him way too late I guess, I got him since last week and Brighton keep on losing ever since. Gotta try for atleast two more weeks before I decided if it is worth it to keep him although honestly I would actually get rid of him right now if I could have an extra free transfer for the week.

But then again Salah has been a total flop for me, so i'll take my chances with KDB

I had Salah and decided to swap him out with KDB. Its probably one of the best decision that I've made for my fantasy draft. Salah was a better player but Liverpool is not in a good shape right now so swapping him with KDB is a good decision for now though imo
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 21, 2022, 09:08:40 PM
Chelsea have home advantage and manchester united will play well with the absence of Ronaldo, like their previous game, which they won 2 nil against Tottenham Hotspur, it was without Ronaldo and was an easy game for devil's.

Im not sure if this is relevant but Ronaldo hasnt been starting for a while on EPL games and Rashford has been getting that spotlight on most EPL games as starter so it doesnt really matter at this point if Ronaldo play or not.

Aside from that, imagine being Ronaldo though. You are a top player and you think you are bigger than the club but then you got schooled by Ten Hag because your attitude sucks. You are paid by the club but then you refused to go on as a late substitute and left early on the match against Tottenham. I doubt any other coach would be able to do that to a top player like Ronaldo

I might pull the trigger on OG -1.5 vs Gladiators since the odds seem too good as they already 2-0'd Gladiators during the groups before. I just hope they wouldn't be shaken up after that loss from Tundra though.

I have a pretty bad record so far in this TI. Its like everything was completely out of what I imagined it would be. All those top teams keep on losing and heck yeah normally I would have made some money from over 2.5 maps but all of the games so far ended up as 2-0 which completely faze me so far

I probably think Im going to take Entity -1.5 and OG -1.5 just for the sake of going with the flow because all games ended up like that so far lol

I like your OG pick and I will play it also, those odds look a bit too good. Safer tip is of course OG +1.5 @1.38 which does not pay that much but should be free money

Not so sure about Liquid, they should win but I am leaning towards taking Aster +1.5 @1.47. After all the surprises today, underdogs look way better to me.

The odds for Aster +1.5 is pretty close to Liquid to win so I guess I'll take that one as well. I probably would've gone for over 2.5 maps but the last two upper bracket ended up with 2 maps so I kinda ditch that idea

Later on I am taking EG and LGD to win 2:0. Good odds and I can't believe we would loose either of them in this stage of the tournament.

Totally unsure about LGD 2-0 though because Boom won their last game against Team Spirit so I thought taking +1.5 on Boom @1.58 is not really a bad idea I guess
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: October 20, 2022, 08:55:56 PM
Today is just another wild day in TI as heavy favorites EG and LGD got dropped to the lower bracket by TA and Secret.

I kinda get that Team Secret is way better than what they used to be and there is a good chance that they could win against PSG.LGD but I honestly have no clue on why EG lost though. EG was on top of the group stage and they were pretty impressive so I wouldnt even have the slightest doubt about them not winning against a SA region team

Anyway, took this for tomorrow. The odds for OG to win is pretty good though, I personally want them to win so yeah I took this

1995  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 19, 2022, 09:39:45 PM
Manchester United maintain its winning record from Tottenham. Now Manchester United have a record 4 wins in a row against Tottenham which would be something to be proud of. Totteham even though have had good performances in the last 2 matches, but have to accept the fact that Manchester United is still the best. This defeat wasn't good for them, but they couldn't avoid it either way.

It was actually not anything to be proud of as the main goal is to get to the top this season not to maintain any win record against a specific team. Its not even a derby games though so its just a regular 3 points win from Tottenham. It kinda feels good to win this especially after not being able to get 3 points from Newcastle on the last game week

I will go for over 2.5 maps and Handicap Thunder +1.5. I am not expecting a sweep in upper bracket but I might be wrong as well. Good luck with your bet.

I was actually thinking about taking over 2.5 maps on all upper bracket games as well. I think there is a good chance that atleast 3 out of 4 games in the upper bracket might ended up with over 2.5 maps. If a team still holds on their hidden strat or whatsoever then this is pretty much the time to use them so good chances that all of those games might ended up pretty intense
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 18, 2022, 08:43:37 PM
it's just a matter of time before they'd get to score a goal or 2.

As a matter of facts, the entire pool decided to go with Brighton to win and scored in this game. This is probably the first time this season that no one predicted anything close to this draw result. Brighton hasnt scored a single goal for the last 3 games in a row and I guess their run is pretty much over ever since Potter left the club huh

Since I am sharing my winning tickets sometimes, the time has come to share a loosing one. Not much of a stake since I expected to loose it and played it just for fun but I think there has been years since last time I managed to get all the games in x5 multi wrong

Kinda wondering your thoughts on taking EG -1.5 though considering that EG has already qualified for the upper bracket before the day 4 start. I personally wouldnt take Boom to win or draw either considering that they pretty much sucks on the day 3 so probably would have avoided this but yeah its a small stake to risk on a fun parlay though

Anyway I took EG to win -1.5 on their next upper bracket games though. Considering that they were pretty good on the group stage, I guess this should be doable

Alright, i went from having six Arsenal/City players in my starting 11 to having just two that will blank. All it took was a -8 pts, a free transfer and a bench player. Free Hit still available for a crucial double GW. All in all, i have a shitty team but meh, everyone's gonna take a hit in this GW so...

I had 2 City and 3 Arsenal players, managed to fill everything in with only 1 free transfer but I had to go with 5 defenders, 3 midfielders and 2 strikers for the week. I could have choosen to use the free hit but meh guess I'll managed to get close to average point somehow if Pope keep a clean sheet this week because I captained him

Friendly reminder to all to put your predictions in.

Week 12 matches begin tomorrow!

Thanks for the reminder ! gotta redeem myself as I bounced from 10th to 20th place with only 5.5 points for the week.

TBH, i do not think that they are capable to do that
I would like to see Arsenal with a trophy, so much memes around them and EL lately,

If I really have to pick another team to win the EPL this season, that would have been Arsenal for sure. Its almost 20 years from the last time they won the Premier League trophy so I totally would love them to win although City is looking much more promising but its a whole year season and Arsenal could probably do it somehow
