Is there (even slow) GPU miner?

The idea is to use GPU and ASIC resistant algo so hashing power stays well distributed.

The mine works very well  : http://optiminer.pl/

It's good to see HODL in better condition  Smiley

I have connection problems and I get a lot of "Stratum requested work restart" messages. I was hahsing ~500 h/s but the pools showed an average of 130 - 300 h/s.

There are two persons trying to set up MPOS pool but they have problems with stratum and hodl algo.

They were mined back in 2016.  Dumb amateur mistake on my part.  All of the coins are/were in a 2.0 wallet

Thanks

Hi Guys

I have been HODL'ing my HODL for awhile and recently emptied an old desktop wallet I had to coinexchange.io

I am thinking I made an amateur mistake and was running an old version of the wallet and it appears as tho my coins are totally MIA.
Wallet i currently have is HOdlcoin Core version v2.0.0 (64-bit)
it looks like i should have been running vs 3.0.1

I am guessing my coins are totally lost but figured I would check to see if anybody has thoughts on how to recover the coins.

Thanks in advance.

When did you mine those coins? How much of those coins you have in wallet 3.0.1? Upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0 happened at block height 257000.

I cannot find that transaction ID. What is your source address?

Hello everyone! I have been mining ROI for few days now  Grin. The problem is the QTwallet that isnt familiar to me.
How can I get my private key for the mining address?

You don't use your private keys for mining. You use your public key aka public address.

Go to FILE >Receiving Address

That is the address you should use for mining.

Sorry my bad english...How do I get the private key of my public key in QTwallet?

This works for Roicoin also.

-HOW TO IMPORT AND EXPORT PRIVATE KEYS-

Export private key:
1. Run HOdlcoin-QT (open the wallet)
2. Select Help
3. Select Debug Window
4. Select Console
5. If you encrypted your wallet, unlock it by Typing 'walletpassphrase <YourLongPassphrase> 600' (walletpassphrase passphrase timeout)
6. Type 'dumpprivkey <your HOdlcoin address here>'
7. This will return the private key. You can copy it now (make sure you clear your clipboard history afterwards).
8. Type 'walletlock' if you want to encrypt your wallet.

Example: 'dumpprivkey HodlDsNuts57MFNiN8CMrMjC2CYAy8pwi9'

Import private key:
1. Run HOdlcoin-QT (open the wallet)
2. Select Help
3. Select Debug Window
4. Select Console
5. If you encrypted your wallet, unlock it by Typing 'walletpassphrase <YourLongPassphrase> 600' (walletpassphrase passphrase timeout)
6. Type 'importprivkey <hodlcoinprivkey>'
7. Type 'walletlock' if you want to encrypt your wallet.

Example importprivkey 5KJvsngHeMpm884wtkJNzQGaCErckhHJBGFsvd3VyK5qMZXj3hS

Export (dump) doesn't remove the key from the wallet.dat file. It simply gives it to you.
If you take it from one wallet to another, both wallets will be able to access the funds in this address.

Hello

Is it possible to mine on Intel 2117U? Is 10 h/s  normal or am I doing something wrong?

I think that's an older i3 cpu and I highly doubt you can solo mine. You could give it a try on the cluster and/or pool and see what it might produce. Maybe another member can chime in that is using a cpu like that. 10 HS is very low from what I've seen but that may be normal for that CPU. You should try using the -optimineraes flag and see if that increases the hash any.

Yeah, seems like it is just too old for any mining. Thanks.

You need AES-NI support to mine efficiently. Intel Pentium 2117U does not support AES-NI. https://ark.intel.com/products/71469/Intel-Pentium-Processor-2117U-2M-Cache-1_80-GHz

Hello Miners
My wallet will not backup for the last 10 days now. I bought Hodl , I mined hodl, I hodled hodl for a year and now it is all stuck in my wallet.
Why is the wallet not working anymore - it says it has 8 connections but it will not backup - it says no block
What can I do? Where is the slippery dev?
Best

Are you trying to make a new backup? What specifically is happening when you get an error?
Come to the Telegram and we'll see if we can help you:
https://t.me/joinchat/GXsKlg9HVTJMY5nzKDRw5w

Thanks for replying. I tried to join the chat but it did not work. All I am doing is double clicking my wallet - then it loads block index - then it opend but it does not update - it says synchronizing with network but it does not update. What should I do - I have a wallet.dat from 10 days ago.

No problem.
Is it stuck at "synchronizing with network" and what exactly do you mean by "does not update"?
Cheers fellow HOdler

What I mean is that once the wallet starts synchonizing it says 11 days behind and after a few hours it still says 11 days behind. It needs to be up to date to send coins out and then those coins need to be confirmed as well to be valid.  The wallet is not working.
To add to what I just said - it may no be working because nobody is mining the coin?Huh[/color]I dont know

Does the block count increase, even in small steps (bottom left icons)? Do you have active connections (the WiFi icon at the bottom left)? What is your wallet version? Latest version is 3.0.1. http://hodlcoin.com/downloads/

It's always possible to download the latest block files from http://hodlcoin.oo.fi:8080/blocks/2017-12-14 and run 'hodlcoin-qt.exe -reindex'.

Hi
Is it profitable to mine with my old computer quad core cpu ?if yes how much per day?

If your CPU doesn't suppor AES-NI hash rate will be very slow. What CPU are you using?

Some examples

I dont see why not... Edit the bat file.

Quote
edit the .bat file with your key and change the miner for the one your system runs best with.
EG..

roiminer.exe -a hodl --url=http://roi.hopto.org:23110 -u mine -p miner -t 4 --coinbase-addr=RJsFF8fgC7QVYvVSa93x8J2VhTtiS1mtwz -P -q

or

roiminer-aes.exe -a hodl --url=http://roi.hopto.org:23110 -u mine -p miner -t 4 --coinbase-addr=RJsFF8fgC7QVYvVSa93x8J2VhTtiS1mtwz -P -q

or

roiminer-bdver2.exe -a hodl --url=http://roi.hopto.org:23110 -u mine -p miner -t 4 --coinbase-addr=RJsFF8fgC7QVYvVSa93x8J2VhTtiS1mtwz -P -q
I try but not working. A got this message on all three lines
https://s19.postimg.org/g7jeuxpnn/screenshot.120.jpg

You will see in the "roi-coin-hodlminer-wolf-2-cluster" folder
roiminer.exe
roiminer-aes.exe
roiminer-bdver2 and 3 and so on.
You edit the line to use a diff .exe I cant say it will work on that cpu but you change the line to the exe that works with the cpu.
EG...

roiminer-westmere.exe -a hodl --url=http://roi.hopto.org:23110 -u mine -p miner -t 4 --coinbase-addr=RJsFF8fgC7QVYvVSa93x8J2VhTtiS1mtwz -P -q

Or

roiminer-sandybridge-ivybridge.exe -a hodl --url=http://roi.hopto.org:23110 -u mine -p miner -t 4 --coinbase-addr=RJsFF8fgC7QVYvVSa93x8J2VhTtiS1mtwz -P -q

If you have used all the exe files in the line and none work then you can not mine the cluster.

I did try all the *.exe version file in that folder but it seems none of them work. The only way to mine with this CPU is with wallet, but hash rate is very low, about 39h/s
CPU instrunction are SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4A...
Thanks for the reply !

Hello

This is my test build of hodlminer
https://github.com/Orava2/hodlminer-binary/raw/master/hodlminer-orava2017.zip

Could not compile it by using Mingw64 but Msys2 worked. Unfotunately Msys2 doesn't support static builds.

Could you test how much the new version of hodlminer.exe is faster than old one?

hi mate !! we use the same config (.bat) file as the wolf miner ??

cause everytime i try to run it with your miner it closes after 2-3 secs

What is your CPU? Same bat file should work.

i7 3630QM - Ivy Bridge

I think the problem is that my binary requires an AVX2 support and Ivy Bridge processors only have AVX support. I thought that older binary like https://github.com/madzebra/hodlminer-binary/raw/master/hodlminer.exe also required AVX2 support but maybe I was wrong and that version works uses only SSE or AVX instructions. When I get my i7-3770S I can do more tests.

How to read block explorer data and to where have my coin gone?

Block explorer show this data for my address:
Total Received (ROI): 3262
Total Sent (ROI): 620 this seems to be increasing.
Balance (ROI): 2641

I have not send those 620 coins. I have made deposits but those are send back to that address. Block explorer shows only one red transactions and that is about 0.5 coins.

Command listaddressgroupings reports that there are 2779 coins. Are accured coins included?

Do you have the TX id on the transaction your are checking out?

Sometimes it gets confusing because the blockexplorer may show different transactions that were combined together...

I sent a private message.

Why the community is still there and hodling, developer abandoned the ship and the coin has nothing new to offer.
It would make sense to let it die completely or get a new lead. I personally would donate to fund supporting new dev team and promotion of the coin.

Is anyone willing to take over? I guess the original dev doesn't give a flying f**k about it anymore.

Original developer is back.

I think you are misunderstanding what the fork is supposed to do.

If I am right, the main purpose of the fork is to correct this error where the long-term deposits become increasingly lucrative. And thereby correcting the estimated interest-rates.

This would mean that for whatever length of term you deposit before the fork. The period of your chosen term that happens after the fork, will only accrue the value that corresponds with the originally intended interest.

So whatever you have in you wallet right now, you should deposit with a maturation block of block 20000.

God I hope I am correct here...

OK. I thought that what happens before the fork is not altered.

So after the fork your earned balance in the wallet will be decreased. If I send some coins to my friend and made 6 months deposit, my friends earned balance shows eg 5 000 coin earned, he will notice that suddenly he has only 3 000 coins. Quite confusing it you paid something with ROIcoins Smiley
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ROI] ROI Coin | CPU Only Solo Mining Hybrid | 8% POS | 600% Term Deposit on: November 27, 2017, 12:21:10 PM
I am under the impression that the fork is roughly planned to happen at block 20000.
And that long term deposits that has been set for later blocks than 20000 will be corrected by the fork, so that the increased rates will only have an effect up until the block of the fork.

If I extrapolate to block 20 000 rate will be over 1900% (20x). 100% => 2x, 200% => 3x, 1900% => 20x. The earlier to made your deposits the lower the relative value will be.

If the fork will happet at block 20 000 ATM you should make deposits which will mature before block 20 00 so can deposit your coins second time before the fork.

When will the fork happen?

ATM 1 coin => 14 coins if you make 12 months deposit. Those who know when the fork will happen can make a lot more money. Making too early deposits you can lose eg 400 percentage points.
