21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Favourite coin to HODL right now ? on: June 21, 2018, 08:13:42 PM
I'm holding NEO, ICX and VEN. They are all promising coins that have the brightest future.

Those are all in my top 4 as well.

Did you check ONT... it is my biggest holding competing with ICX. Cheesy
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICX to $100 in 2018 on: June 21, 2018, 08:09:05 PM

I also like and hodl ICX. I earned a lot from this coin. But it's 6 months from the first post to date and it's price is $2 only.

Note that most (if not all) crypto lost value the past 6 months.

From another perspective...

BTC lost 57% the past 6 months and ICX gained 60% Wink

Maybe it can mean that ICX use all his growth potential? And with BTC growth we can see ICX price flat or dump? Who know? But I keep such case in the my mind. Because I want to buy more

I think ICX shows it's strength that it grew despite the market condition.  I believe it will skyrocket (faster than most) once the market goes back up...but who knows?
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Profitable Portfolio 2018 on: June 21, 2018, 07:58:58 PM
...potcoin it's being advertised by Dennis Rodman on his t-shirts.

It boggles me that this is even mentioned.  Why does it matter?  Are crypto buyers that dumb?
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: AION Mainnet Launch on: June 21, 2018, 07:51:51 PM
I've been holding on for a long time. I never gave up on AION. One day ICX and Wanchain will pass the price performance.

 Huh  What do you mean?

AION is $1.34 ranked #53
WAN is $2.99 ranked #43
ICX is $2.01 ranked #23

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Profitable Portfolio 2018 on: June 21, 2018, 07:27:05 PM
I don't hold any of these coins and think 75% of it is shitcoin.

That said, I learned that no matter how useless or bad the coin is (like DOGE Wink ), you can still make money on it (for some weird reason). Cheesy

The market has ALWAYS been revolving around Bitcoin...you just noticed? Huh
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: This market might split: SEC Regulated and other! on: June 20, 2018, 07:00:55 PM
Right now it is like playing with FIRE!
I just read that EOS is most probably a security!
If so the coin will be worth shit. Also they have many technical and governance issues!
I use EOS as an example but there is a long list!

There are indeed many centralized "cryptocurrency" which goes against the very core of the crypto ideals.  I call these "compromise coins" because they are (sadly) likely the ones that government, banks, or powers that be -- will support (because they can control/monitor them).

The big question is should we...compromise or not?
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICX vs WAN vs ARK...How are you investing? on: June 20, 2018, 06:39:38 PM
Wanchain can invest a little more. Very good at the ICX. It makes a lot of sense to hold them for a long time.

All three are good projects and hard to know what will perform better  to decide the split. Nevertheless, you should increase WAN and decrease ICX to make those about equal weighting.

I agree with you both about increasing my WAN holdings but can't bring myself to sell some ICX for it.  I might have to pump in more fiat instead.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICX vs WAN vs ARK...How are you investing? on: June 20, 2018, 05:01:01 PM
These three or standard platform so it is perfectly matched your expectation. But my suggestion is you just some high potential platform this will help for the long term. Because WAN is a good project at the same time You should buy some other more stable coin. So Ethereum is the good potential platform in long term. If you move this coin you will earn good profit but WAN is unpredictable.

Thanks.

I have mixed feelings with ETH.  It is a great platform and arguably the current best.

But I've seen it bogged down mainly because of it's popularity.  Too many tokens riding on it...while that is great, it comes with a price.  I would hate to invest on something that I equate (potentially) to the Titanic.  A marvelous creation but can be sunk if over loaded or not cared for properly.  This is the main reason why I stay away from ETH.

Secondly, I also think other coins have more potential to deliver better % returns.  I may be mistaken but I am taking that risk, knowing full well the possible ramifications. Smiley

In general, I try to avoid buying coins/tokens that cost more than $100...except BTC which I buy so I can buy alts. Cheesy  I bought most of my NEO (my most expensive coin right now)  at $2 - $22. Smiley
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto currency can replace the dollar on: June 20, 2018, 04:46:20 PM
I don't think that the crypto currency can ever replace a centralized currency. Government supports the centralized currency because it is one of the signs of statehood. The collapse of centralized currency will be the collapse of statehood.
You may be right a decade ago but I think your thinking is obsolete.  World trade changed so much the past years and continues to evolve.

All currency is based on "trust" (in the government who issue/back them, or something else).  It is fundamentally a contract and what is better than a cryptocurrency to deliver it?

I am an American and believe it will be to the detriment of the US if the dollar is replaced as the world's currency of trade.  I believe the US government will delay or fight it as long as they can but IF the rest of the world rally towards supporting crypto (I am not locking it to Bitcoin), there is nothing the US can do to stop it.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Currently 1,610 coins/tokens...how are you finding good coins? on: June 20, 2018, 04:10:39 PM
Been in hiatus for a while...maybe it is time to check/hunt for coins to add in my portfolio again...prices are quite attractive these past weeks. Cheesy
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICX vs WAN vs ARK...How are you investing? on: June 20, 2018, 04:04:29 PM
My current distribution (top 6 out of 12 coins) representing 93.03% of my portfolio are...

ONT - 25.69%
ICX - 25.45%
VEN - 17.55%
NEO - 9.51%
ARK - 8.59%
WAN - 6.24%

What do you think?
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto currency can replace the dollar on: June 18, 2018, 07:12:43 PM
I recently pondered with my friend about the fact that the American economy can rejuvenate thanks to bitcoin.  Those who know what inflation is will understand me. The dollar has a very large public debt, they do it to avoid inflation. All the inflation money they take out of the country and sell as debt to other countries.. So now America produces USDT, the same dollars that are the equivalent of Fiat money (USD). So there will not be soon these countries where to export inflation money, they will be introduced into bitcoins.

You have a source for this claim?Huh
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto currency can replace the dollar on: June 18, 2018, 07:07:10 PM
The problem is which crypto? And how will they prevent the wild price swing.

No one knows.  Maybe it is still to be created.  Wink

The price swings is what makes people invest on crypto.  We love when they are "mooning" but hate the dips/corrections.  They go together like night and day.

If a coin is stable, why invest on it?  Might as well stay with the dollar and do time deposit. :p
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ontology ONT - Price speculation on: June 18, 2018, 02:42:03 PM
In my opinion the blockchain wich has the most apps built on and is the most open to new apps being built is the better blockchain. In this case Neo. Neo has city of zion and will be deploying an insane amount of dapps in the coming years. Ontology is nowhere near in terms of adoption. Saying ontology will beat neo is a joke. Neo will beat EOS and other platforms. And ontology will come nowhere near neo.

I did not read any post saying it will beat NEO  (did I miss it?).  I am a NEO fan and believe it will be HUGE in the future.

That said, I think % return wise (short term)...ONT can beat NEO.  Depending on the window you look at, it actually already did. Wink

TIME.............NEO..................ONT
6 months....... +39.62% ........ +282.32%
3 months.......  -28.17% ........ +503.81%
1 month .......  -19.35% .........  +14.53%
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Crypto currency can replace the dollar on: June 18, 2018, 02:36:04 PM
Many countries have been pushing for a way to replace the dollar as the world currency of trade.  China and USSR are leading the effort for decades now.

It makes sense since it gives USA an unfair advantage.  Why can USA afford the debt it has now?  Because it can always print dollars as needed.  Something that other countries cannot do. Wink

In this sense, USA will likely fight the adoption as long as it can...or create a crypto that will give it advantage.  Right now, China is leading the way (maybe covertly).  Hope USA wake up and do something now or risk being left behind.  Because I believe Crypto adoption can be delayed but cannot be stopped.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Your opinion about Wanchain and Icon on: June 16, 2018, 02:39:26 PM
I hold good amount of WAN and my biggest holdings is on ICX.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What should I buy in this dip on: June 14, 2018, 08:59:17 PM
I think you should spend your money to buy food or games cause guys whom always have to ask other people about good coin to buy will never be successful Smiley. I don't know why you guys wanna earn money in this world while you guys don't know anything about it, don't have any knowledge about it Smiley. Stop wasting your time and your money by learning first Smiley.

CMC alone lists 1,627 coins last I checked...and there are countless others out there.

It doesn't hurt to ask and narrow down the choices.  Of course they should still do their research but having to check 20 or so coins beats checking 1,627. Wink
