21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are our cryptocurrencies losing traction? on: March 12, 2019, 12:16:51 PM
Using Alexa as a parameter to measure the popularity of bitcointalk in terms of traffic is limited. As you know that users need to have the alexa plugin for them to measure traffic. Its possible that the decline is as a result of users not using the plugin in their browsers; this is my opinion. However there should be other measurements to confirm this
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future for cryptocurrency? on: March 04, 2019, 01:29:50 PM
With blockchain data can be stored in a decentralized public book.

With cryptocurrency, we can make anonymous transactions without centralized intervention.

If you add speed and spread to the public, then the future is cryptocurrency.

How do you think?

This is a concise thought on the future of cryptocurrency and you are right.  Using all forms of Blockchain technology will enable safe and quick transmission of information and money across borders. The future of cryptocurrency is indeed bright
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I won't give up on: March 04, 2019, 01:26:19 PM
I'm sick and tired of negative thoughts people are passing unto each other of here and believe me that won't help anybody ,infact its an act of discouragement which s not needed at all as an investor

- in the past I started with faucet ,yes you heard me right,I never had cash to buy coins so I kept gathering SATs through faucets and at that time bitcoin was at 1000+ per one so faucets payout was still very good and I did this for several months till 2017 bullrun and I make good profit through faucets ,why I'm sharing this is

+Sometimes you have to stay positive to achieve aims, neglect the negative thoughts ,I was in a very bad shape then and today I'm glad I'm able to have good big portfolio but LOOK WHERE I START FROM ,bounties and airdrops don't pay like in the past they say ,does that mean THEY WILL NEVER PAY AGAIN? What have you learned to be able to SPOT GOOD projects ?

-I won't give up because good things don't come easily ,just don't expect that you will make thousands of money as if money falls from the sky ,accept the challenges and you will get better than yesterday.

-people are saying ICOS are bad they don't pay ,same to airdrops too ,please kindly look at the profile of those spreading this news they still have SiGNATURES on there profiles means they don't give up ,you shouldn't too ,believe that things will get better with time and make yourself a better person than yesterday

-Scammers are making almost all ICO looks bad I accept but if we extract the scammers as if they never exist what about market condition? We can't do anything about it as it will take time to recover ,please let's not be weaklings ,let's stay strong ,keep patience alive and keep learning so we can get better at spoting good projects ,thank you.

People find it hard to accept changes. The blockchain industry or cryptocurrency space is evolving and people are beginning to take the time to learn about the industry. This indeed is a important moment for people to take advantage of this period and make great investments. I do agree with your thought and thanks for sharing. Take Care
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook and Telegram succeed up where Bitcoin Failed? on: March 04, 2019, 01:21:37 PM
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/28/technology/cryptocurrency-facebook-telegram.html#click=https://t.co/dafMzFxBWE

Did anyone read this article in the NYtimes today? I personally had a good laugh because I would love to know how they are going to achieve a truly decentralized cryptocurrency. I could see them incorporating an incentivization system into their platforms but not create a truly decentralized crypto. The only 'stable' coin project that I am aware that is decentralized and is said to succeed where Bitcoin hasn't is Ampleforth due to their elastic supply protocol. Are there any others?

I read this post and I see this as a positive sign for cryptocurrencies . I doubt that these companies will be able to create a pure decentralized crypto space. However, they will be able to increase awareness among people about the potentials of cryptocurrency which is what the industry so needs.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: For those bounty hunters who can hardly relate on: March 04, 2019, 01:15:38 PM
To all crypto bounty hunters who can hardly relate:

Situation: ICO started their main sale and will last 2 months and offers bounty program. ICO price was $0.5.
Bounty Hunter: I will join their signature campaign! Let’s do this!

After 1 month....

Admin: We decided to pause the campaign because our legal advisor suggests for our product to be fully compliant with the country’s regulations.
Bounty Hunter: (facepalm)

After 1 month....

Admin: Good news bounty hunters! We will now resume our bounty campaign. Since ICO was extended for a month, the same goes to our bounty campaign. Happy bounty hunting!
Bounty Hunter: Yippee!!!

After 1 month (one day before the ICO ends)....

Admin edits the ICO countdown timer and replied: Due to overwhelming demand, we decided to extend the ICO to another 2 months!
Bounty Hunter: Whaaaaat??? (But decides to continue the signature campaign).

After 2 months....

Admin: Congrats bounty hunters! Our ICO is successful! Here’s the final spreadsheet!
Bounty hunter looks at the spreadsheet and replied: 1,000 stakes for me! Yippee! I’m excited for my tokens to be distributed.
Admin: Good for you! We will distribute the tokens within 2 weeks!
Bounty Hunter: All right! My hardwork finally pays off in 2 weeks! Can’t wait!

After 2 weeks....

Admin: I received an advise from our legal advisor that bounty hunters must complete KYC process. Since we have an influx of bounty hunters, approving your KYC might take days to weeks.
Bounty Hunter: (sigh) Oh well, it’s better than nothing. I’ll just do it anyway. (Logs in to site and submits KYC verification).

After 3 weeks....

Bounty Hunter receives an email that his KYC was approved and was excited, however.....
Admin: We would like to congratulate those bounty hunters who have passed their KYC. Unfortunately, we had a meeting with the development team. It has come to a conclusion that our team voted for bounty hunter tokens to be locked and will be distributed after 6 months to avoid massive dumping in the exchange.
Bounty Hunter: Admin I HATE YOU!!!!

After 6 months....

Admin: Bounty hunter tokens are now unlocked. You can now transfer your tokens from the dashboard to your ETH wallet. Thank you!

Bounty hunter transfers his tokens to his ETH wallet. After successfully transferred, he goes to Etherdelta exchange where he can trade his token to BTC or ETH. Unfortunately, the token’s buying orders are empty. Only selling orders appear with the lowest bid at $0.001 per token.

Bounty hunter: F*** you admin!!!!! My efforts are wasted coz’ they’re worth shitcoins!!!!
Admin: (blocks bounty hunter from Telegram channel).

Trust me guys, I’ve been here before. Are you too? 😂🤣😅

It's like reading the life of a bounty hunter. The issues that Bounty hunters face with projects is sometimes frustating. However, it shows that there has to be an acceptable best practice when it comes to conducting Bounty campaigns. So just as the blockchain technology is maturing, i believe that such will happen in the Bounty space
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Are There Many Projects Like This? on: March 04, 2019, 01:07:56 PM
I've been going through some of the latest ICOs and found too much hype but little substance. The worst are those like this and I wonder why there are people in the community doing this...https://cryptoinfowatch.com/the-new-billion-coin-who-wants-to-be-a-billionaire/

Well there are still those who believe that they can profit from people's ignorance. However , the industry is becoming matured and its getting harder to get investments with little substance or unrealistic profits.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 5 Crypto Exit Scams on: March 04, 2019, 01:05:30 PM
Thanks for the information. You are right about some of these companies who took advantage of the greed of people and their lack of education on the blockchain technology. There are still some scams but they are less now. Thanks for sharing.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now or never! on: March 04, 2019, 01:02:03 PM
It will be very difficult to dump the market further(it is possible, but it will be very difficult and dangerous), because the miners are already working at a loss on some coins, like ethereum. Bitcoin almost fell to mining cost price, so, i think, it worth to start to buy now.

Yeah it is a great time to but now that people are beginning to take their time to understand the blockchain technology. If one misses this chance now, it might never come again
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't give up yet on: March 04, 2019, 01:00:02 PM
The cryptocurrency space has been discouraging for a while now and there's a possibility for people to want to walk away from the industry. Some persons made substantial investment in purchasing altcoin whose value has greatly reduced and the thought of everything could make one want to loose hope. I'm of the opinion that making profits should not be our only goal in the industry but learning and contributing to its growth should be our focus. There's always light at the end of the tunnel and we would get there very soon. Let's be patient for a little more while, no matter how long the night lasts, the morning will surely come. Don't give up yet.

Yes looks like the market is in choas but as history has always shown, there is always a light in every darkness. The sad thing is that only a few people will profit from this situation; just like during the internet bubble where people who stood strong profited in the long run from companies that seemed to have no potential, those who have done their research will profit from this situation.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I cursed? on: November 23, 2018, 11:41:36 PM
I don't know if I am cursed or something. If I sell a coin now from airdrop/bounty few days later that coins increases much that you will regret selling. If I hold a coin from airdrop/bounty again that coins price decreases much that you will regret not selling right away. I'm confused now whenever I sell the price increases and when I hold the price decreases. Am I cursed?  Cry

No you are not cursed but your timing needs to be refined. You need to understand that trying to game the market requires a lot of discipline. You need to understand that you will lose all the time and win sometimes. Also you need to gather tools like technical analysis to be able to game the market.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why regular people are afraid to invest in Crypto on: November 23, 2018, 11:37:04 PM
Hi guys.
In most countries poeple don't get the opportunity to invest in Crypto due to country policy.
However some countries who have the opportunity of crypto policy free are afraid to invest.
Some people just don't have the courage and are not willing to take such risks of investing in crypto, while others find it difficult to purchase crypto using there credit cards or master Cards 💳.
I believe that crypto will have more regular people investing if it was integrated with the Banking payments system.

Do you think so too?

I don't agree that the banking systems are need to make crypto reach mass adoption. Cryptocurrencies are created to remove all bottlenecks and allow people do businesses with cheap transaction fees. Cryptocurrencies are not yet matured and needs a lot of reforms to be solid for the masses .
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrencies prices decline again, what much do we expect? on: November 22, 2018, 02:06:42 PM
For almost a week the crypto market has maintained a certain support level and ride in a range. Many thoght we where in the mist of a bull run until the last 24hours whend price declined further down.

Now what you think will happen next? Bull or Bear? I think we will see more bear trends till maybe in December when it could hold on a certain price to continue declining by January.

What do you think?

There is no certainty about the trend of the market and we would have to wait till December to see which direction it will take. However, I am bullish for the crypto market
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are lazy on: November 22, 2018, 02:04:27 PM
I just wonder sometimes why hackers would not want to use their time and effort they spend to scam others on doing something meaningful and legit, to earn something worthwhile for themselves, except to rip others of their hard earned money.
Most times, what they even take illegally from others at the end is not used for anything meaningful.
Scammers should desist from this act, because karma is real.
Work and don't be lazy.

Actually there are the White hackers and the Black hackers, so I want to believe you are referring to the Black hackers. Now hacking is no lazy job , it has its pros and cons. Many companies information or even app would have been compromised today if not for White hackers that discover vulnerabilities. However thoes that don't follow best security practice end up at the mercies of the black hackers

There are companies like Cloudbric who intend to a build an A.I security which learns how to catch these scam activities . However they need hackers to feed the data of the platform.

People need to educate themselves on best security practice. There is no excuse for ignorance
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP really better than ETH??? on: November 22, 2018, 01:57:44 PM
Is the XRP really better than ETH ?? can be seen now ETH descends to TOP 3 sites https://coinmarketcap.com and XRP goes up to TOP 2. how do you think it is true XRP is better than ETH

Just because XRP is no 2 doesn't mean that it is better . As i always say that XRP and ETH can't be compared because they don't solve the same issues. As for the ranking, i don't think it will last for long.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Attention! Panic sale!!! on: November 22, 2018, 10:29:57 AM
During the last week I bought coins and they almost immediately fell by 10-15%, and today early in the morning I saw how they fell by another 15-20%. How long will it last?., and whether I should sell for what I have. I wouldn't want to be left with empty pockets. Sad

If you bought the coins for profits then i suggest that you exit now while you loss is still 10% but if you hae researched the project and seen that it has the potential to make a difference in the world , then don't be bothered by the price of coin at present
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I Intend to solve Bounty Problems - Your suggestions on: November 22, 2018, 10:27:57 AM
Hello all.

Well, i and my team have carefully studied the Bounty Market and we have noticed so many flaws on how the Market is being Managed. But i really want to hear from you all, especially those who have been involved in one Bounty Hunting or the other.

We have been heavily funded ( a partner) to provide a world-class Bounty platform i really need your suggestions.

EDIT*

Based on all your suggestions. We have started implementing the following!

1) We will be making sure that only ICOs ready to make pre-payment or Escrow the funds will be accepted to run their campaign with us. This will secure Bounty hunter's payment after the campaign has ended
2) Proper verification of project before accepting it to reduce failed and scam ICOs
3) Making sure that a limit is set for all Participants for every campaign so that rewards can be valuable to those who have participated.
4) Making sure that Project owners do not change project terms after the campaign has started
5) Make a system that recognises members by completed tasks so that future rewards could be based on your rank on the platform
6) Build a simple and easy to use bounty platform with lots of automation

Additional Implementation:

a) We will also accept non ICO campaigns which will pay via BTC, ETH also. This will make it possible for projects to run a marketing campaign on the platform to reach more persons on the internet while Hunters get paid in real cash
b) We will only implement a one time verification system for Bounty hunters, this documents will not be shared with anyone! Not even project owners. This verification is to make sure all accounts are owned by one person and to reduce multiple accounts on the platform so that all campaigns can be effective.
c) Payment to Bounty hunters will be made immediately the campaign is ending else if the contract specified otherwise

PRE-REGISTRATION LINK WILL SOON BE OUT. I shall update this thread as soon as pre-registration is ready.

Thank you. Your suggestions are still welcome.

I suggest that payment should be done in such a way that Bounty hunters can decide which payment they want to receive. This will help the projects and the bounty platform so that Bounty hunters will not crash the price of the project when trying to sell
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have a backup plan? Suggestions please on: November 22, 2018, 10:23:35 AM
I have never seen so much anxiety before. With scams all around, the market going down, so many uncertainties, how to cope up from all of this when you can't be sure about your investments?

Do you keep a backup plan? How do you manage when things go down in crypto?

In the first place , if you had an exit strategy for your investment, you would not have any anxiety. The best investors have plan and they don't invest any more than they can lose.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I lost when the coin price dropped on: November 22, 2018, 10:21:38 AM
when all the coins go down, I lose a lot because I bought a lot of coins, what should I do so that I don't lose a lot, please give your input, friend?

You need to be patient with your investments and don't base your judgement on the price of that investment. If you don't want to lose more then you can either invest more or be patient and wait for the bull run
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you make up for the huge loss. on: November 22, 2018, 10:20:10 AM
Judging by the current crypto market situation. A lot of losses have been inquired by a lot of people including myself. We were all hoping there would a  bull run in December, as of now there are no positive sign yet of a possible bull run.

How do you make up for your losses for the while year if by December there is still no bull run?

Well most investors suggest that you should stock up more of your investment to prepare for the bull rn. Besides this trend of bear and bull in the crypto market is not new. Its happened in the past.
