Self moderated threads are 80% scam or having something to hide, it's an tend to cheat or avoid comments from people that are a a bit curious about the new project, stay away for your own good or get scammed and cheated in the end
That's a too harsh view, man. There is always scam lurking or operating right now in bitcointalk and nothing we could do about it until the unveil their trick and got call out. Like any thread could be possible made by them, not just self moderated thread alone. 80% scam from self moderated is a long stretch.

The name is more important than you think. No matter how good your project is, the best and hardworking members it is, the first thing people remember is your project name. It carries a message of how the coin want to be. Although name alone won't make your project become a success, it still very important.

Unless they're holding sort of private sale, I don't see any benefit from withhold a token from listing on exchanges. If they are already distributed token then why they don't try to list on exchanges is beyond me. How did you get those pricelesstoken? From bounty or from their sale?

Is this what you're talking about not dead? Cause I feel it as the same thing as back then. Unknown, unheard project boasts about they raised huge amounts of investment and people would FOMO without any research. Look as how many posters in this thread and you will see.

With the second wave looming as people don't take social distancing and lockdown seriously, do you think the same excuse will resurface? No, these unreal excuses as you said are very much real and if it was hard for them to keep in contact or meeting to work on projects, they have every right to said so.

Honestly people aren't learning anything, I am so disappointed in the way people think nowadays, believing they can actually double their bitcoin, as a newbie, the moment I saw the giveaway on binance official Twitter account I knew it was a hack
In this case, Binance and other well-known Twitter accounts had a lot of authority, which allowed scammers to convince newcomers of the reality of doubling the balance. In addition, these newcomers do not understand how the cryptocurrency market works. Otherwise, they would understand that there is no such way to double your balance in 1 day. Now you said it. There was really someone who really didn't understand how Bitcoin or crypto work but did think you can x2 balance in a short amount of time? If there is then I really want to know how they able to get hold of some Bitcoin.

March 2020 was a month of opportunity for those who aren't scared of the bear market that took over crypto space at the time, pandemic was the reason and all those who took a giant steps and buy many top altcoins and Bitcoin at cheaper price already made their ROI after Bitcoin recovers
Not just cryptocurrency but with stock market too. Although some stock hasn't recover yet but if you brought stock or cryptocurrency around that hard dip, well you're already set!

I think you can read all replies on this thread so far to see most people would agree Bitcoin is something you can't win over. There is no shy in admitting that for altcoins and accept to co-exist with Bitcoin. Heck, if your altcoin was able to trail behind Bitcoin in top CMC already a feat.

To be honest, bounty managers are not some kind of god that you should completely trust them just because they ain't from the team. Maybe only the good and trusted bounty managers could really make sure your profit but I don't put the very well-know bounty managers on the same level of bounty project managed by the team themselves.

Gone are the days when project Whitepapers meant much or decided if investors invested in a project. These days, a lot of projects have nothing to offer other than properly packaged Whitepapers with absolutely nothing to back up their projects. No products or clear definitions of their goals and objectives. Worst still is, most of these Whitepapers are rewritten from old projects with some tweaking just to entice unsuspecting investors to invest in their projects.
After all the white paper plagiarism so of course, investors don't pay attention toward project's white paper anymore. All thanks to the dark age of ICO scam. Tho, I still think it's a must for a good project to caught investor's interest.

I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin?
Any altcoin among the top 10 is worth to be a long term investment. It's up to your personal liking to decide which it suits your taste in cryptocurrency (aim, inovation, technology behind it,...).

Gold-backed tokens are the most stupid scam that I've ever seen. I wouldn't trust the bank and their fiat backed by gold reserve then why would I trust the same thing but not even fiat but freshly made token? At least fiat have a government's backing also so you still have time to trade for some value before it crashed.

There is no debate that the best altcoins for long term holding would be Ethereum. The rest of your list is so-so, I recommend you do a research on Chain Link as an alternative to your list.

It seems like you are shlling for the above mentioned coins. In my opinion, these are not some good coins which we should have looked. Moreover, expecting a good suggestion here is not a good idea because everyone will shill for their invested coin.
I might have to agree, the account was made last 2017 but only have 2 post and it was posted just today, so it is clearly a wake up account to shill the coins he stated above. I'm convinced. And without even visiting his profile, you can actually smell something like asking for very unpopular coins. Not even a loser investor would actually ask this one. No offense meant. He even tried to make it a bit legit by inserting SIA coin at the end, heh. Try too hard to shill an unknown coin by piggyback on Chain Link too.

You are talking about the altcoin market, but I see that only Ethereum and Dogecoin grow. And even they grow, we canīt compare this growth to Bitcoin, that made already 300% growth in a few months. Who knows, if the altcoin season happens and if yes, we canīt expect that all coins will grow as we saw it in 2017.
If you expect an altcoin season where every altcoin increases greatly at a short amount of time then I've bad news for you: None since this is not the old 2017. Today, only a strong altcoin could do that thing and it will take in turn for each altcoins. Just like the dogecoin pump recently.

The dogecoin pump is not all thanks to the tiktok video. It was already know in the sector of crypto and users appreciate it for the low fees and the presence on tha main exchange. In the last months the price was stable. In bull run it will certly increase his valure but it has not a strong project behind....only memes!
Right, but how you explain the recent pump coming all suddenly when dogecoin already around the cryptocurrency market for a long time? Without any interesting happen to dogecoin for such a long time and only now, it got pump'd hard. Clearly, the tiktok video and people from there caught the news of dogecoin is the main reason for it to pump.

I'm not very familiar with the betting system but I believe that there should be a way of addressing issues especially when it bothers on method of delivery of a win or lose result. Its not a good thing to call out a betting platform when you're possibly at fault.
How is it was his fault tho? There is a clear connection between players in that esport match and the betting web. That's shady as f.
