23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Today's news (IMO) July 31, 2013 on: July 31, 2013, 05:52:11 PM
Main News

Accusations have been running wild about a possible instamine at the launch of Worldcoin, the outrage by junior members who seem to have joined the community 2 months late has perplexed users of the coin.

User r3wt has witten a long apology letter to the community over the recent Gascoin scandal in which he apparently hid a premine and the delivered a faulty product...r3wt you villian. However some have rejoiced at the fact that this may discourage mos of the new comers hoping to make a quick buck.

In a record breaking discovery....I have not noticed any new Launches today, could the storm finally be over?

Business News

Coinwarz has been causing miner confusion today as it has been reporting incorrect prices for cryptsy traded coins. User root1484 @ cryptsy was the first to notice.

The downward spiral of Alts has continued with many bag holders lamenting the high rates at which they bought coins, anticipating exactly what ...we do not know.

Recently Erundook has opened his new trading platform to open beta, again user root1484 was first on the scene. We'll be keeping you informed on user ratings.

Sports News

The war between IGotspots and Vlad2vlad has simmered down of late as most  have taken their focus to the Gascoin incident, this has left forum users bored, holding popcorn with nothing to watch.

Trending

Recent rumors have suggested that Shitcoin devs have resorted to launching their coins on little known sites to enable "in the know" premines. Earlier today I heard of a ORB coin but a search of the forum yielded no results. Could this be becoming a trend?

A recent posting of a supposed scrypt ASIC has left members either dumbfounded or hysterically laughing at the very poorly attempted scam, the User uploaded a link to a site. The images there show a coolermaster case and claimed these specs 500 Watt PSU pushing 50,000 Kh/s avg

Weather Report

Today we enjoyed sunny weather with no downpours of shitcoins, miners and traders were seen in chat boxes and generally having a good time.  Tommorrows forecast looks bleak as scammers will be taking advantage of the void.

You missed Orbitcoin it launched this morning.

What pool are you using?

I can throw 650 Kh/s at it, all I have right now.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Was WDC premined/instamined? (like phenix and FTC) on: July 30, 2013, 11:26:49 PM
This graph is extremely misleading because of the way the coin was released.

The coin was released on "Hour 45" after the genesis block was mined.

Hour 45: 64 minted
Hour 46: 25,024 minted <-- Instamine
Hour 47: 163,808 minted <-- Instamine
Hour 48: 71,744 minted <-- Instamine
_____________________ END DAY 2

Hour 49: 52,480 minted <-- Instamine
Hour 50: 40,736 minted <-- Instamine
Hour 51: 37,856 minted <-- Instamine
Hour 52: 27,680 minted <-- Instamine
Hour 53: 25,400 minted <-- Instamine

After that the difficulty catches up. The hourly currency creation rate for WDC should be about 7680 WDC per hour. http://cryptometer.org/worldcoin_96_hour_charts.html

Those 8 hours, from hour 46 to hour 53, about 445,000 WDC were minted, Which is 7 times as many coins as should have been created during that same period of time. It isn't as bad as FTC or MNC, but there definitely was an instamine when WDC hit the forums.

Thank you for this, the truth needs to be known about these coins, and others. Certain individuals stand to make a lot of money and would love to keep that hidden.

That is the old source, new source is nowhere to be found.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] United Open Currency Solutions (UNOCS) - Feather, Phenix and Worldcoin on: July 30, 2013, 08:36:15 PM
Yaaawnn... come back with it when it is working... We all know that the coindesk guys are Feathercoin buddies..

hey are not the Associated press right? The don't follow any journalistic code, so they wil just continue to push the unfinished projects of theyr favorite buddy coins...

Just a word to the guys who always said that the site with the open directories was not "the bridge" and that it was just a simple unfuctional announcement page.
That so called "announcement page" with the open directories was exactly the site that is featured in coindesk... it contained the templates for the site that these screenshots where made from. iamatrix knows that, but it's clear that he stays calm. At least he maybe learned how to lock up the directories of his Apache.

As I always said, as long as nothing works, it's all made for pumpin, including that coindesk article...

Oh yeah, I was going to mention that as well. The 'separate' website is clients.unocs.com according to the qr if you scan it.

Careful folks, you might get the 'FUD/Troll' label for posting legitimate questions.

Do you due diligence, now show the details from the QRCode Pic..

Date created : 7/30/2013 4:51AM

Do not cherry pick to try to prove your point.

You really have a lot of nerve, not only calling me a liar, but a writer from coindesk as well?

I put my time and my money where my mouth is, all you seem to put forth is your mouth.

Stop being so childish and do something productive with your time.

QR one is scrubbed, no EXIF data.

But it does have today's date in the picture itself.

Here is a really great update.

Coindesk covers UNOCS Bridge. Here is a link to the article

So coindesk is writing about thing they haven't seen or used and they only can hope it will be those things they say it will be  ... journalism in 21st century Cheesy

You are quite mistaken, I spent some time with the writer this morning.. going over it with him.

Why are you blatantly lying right now, they themselves posted that they were ready to submit the article 6 days ago.

You need to learn how to understands words. The meaning of the sentence is they were ready to post the article. They needed more info and confirmation from the developers.

Coindesk didn't want to wait on that article any longer. They wrote it days ago.

Big question though, where was WorldCoin in any of that article?

Also, what are the estimated transaction times? How long does it have to sit in UNOCS bank/escrow before it can be used?

"networkhashps" : 42104311

How much hash did you have?

How familiar are you with going through a source to find the difficulty calculation?
You can find the source here: http://www.megacoin.co.nz/downloads

I tried looking for it but I am seeing stuff for testnet, not sure if that would be the same code or not.

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Primecoin vs Quarkcoin Profitability on: July 30, 2013, 02:22:31 PM
QRK is very difficult to mine right now, but the price is also extremely low.

I just tried mining it again and after 6 hours with a i5-3570k @ 4.4Ghz I only found 1 block.

39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Supposed ASIC Scrypt Miner | Scrypt ASIC International on: July 30, 2013, 12:10:34 AM
I still do not believe it will be anywhere near as efficient as the BTC ASIC or FPGA. It requires larges ammounts of specific memory hardware in order to increase hashing speeds.

The one thing they could have done to increase hash rates is generate a large table of the needed lookups. You can read a little about it here in this post: http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/1307

I was also wondering perhaps there is some way to partition the RAM in order to use less since scrypt does not fully use it all. That would greatly reduce the total RAM needed.

So I'll ask again where is the source don't understand why this has not been addressed

Why do you need the new source for the block explorer? The old one should be sufficient?
It's not working with that source for some reason also I would like to compile the new source

It has to be your code, there is another block explorer working just fine.

No clue where the new source is though, very little information lately.
