23  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTS 5 Years old Bitcointalk Accounts on: August 17, 2016, 10:40:49 AM
People is only interested with account that have potential activity. You five year old account can worth a lot provided that it have a lot of potential activity. Which I doubt is not the case. The only positive thing about the account you are selling, seeing from the thread, I guess is that it is five years old.

How much is a lot?
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred/Siacoin GPU Miner v5.1 (Windows/Linux) on: July 16, 2016, 06:34:12 PM
With a WIN7 PC running just GETH and Claymore,
why is there several hundred megabytes of disk space consumed every day?

If you point miner on geth than logs (-dbg 0 or -dbg 1 parameter) grow quick enough (about 3-4 Mb/hour). The 2nd disk hungry monster is blockchain database (try to look in c:\users\(your user)\appdata\ethereum).

Logs can be swith off (RTFM is a right habbit)))), but blockchain db should be kept. You cannot mine solo otherwise.

Thanks, so I will run Claymore with -dbg 1  parameter to stop logs

If I don't want to mine solo I can delete c:\users\(your user)\appdata\ethereum?

it should be -dbg -1 NOT "-dbg 1"
i have a question will that effect production "effective hashrate" when change it to -dbg -1

Thanks that worked perfectly!

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows 7 and RX480 won't mine WTF? on: July 08, 2016, 02:28:12 PM
if you plugged directly in the pcie and it did not work then it's the motherboard, return it

Its an Asrock BTC 81 that worked just fine with 3 Radeon r9 290s for years.

Are their certain mining software  that won't work with RX480's?

28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows 7 and RX480 won't mine WTF? on: July 07, 2016, 11:06:20 PM
Sadly neither worked
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows 7 and RX480 won't mine WTF? on: July 07, 2016, 12:57:52 PM
Anything other than the latest 16.6.2 drivers does not support RX 480.

Also helpful thanks!!!

it looks like a riser problem? did it work in the pci-e slot directly?

Oh thats a very good suggestion I did not try that.  Thanks!!!

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Windows 7 and RX480 won't mine WTF? on: July 07, 2016, 10:58:01 AM

I have an ASROCK 81 MB, Windows 7 2 RX480s (just trying to get one working) Geth and Ethminer Tells me it sees no GPUs Questions: Tried the 15.x drivers and the 16.x drivers, neither works. Can you really uninstall these damn drivers?
Can anyone share what has worked for them please?

Between difficulty, electricity and 0.035 BTC a day @ 14TH it will take you a year to break even and three more years to double your money.

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum pump and dump? on: June 03, 2016, 02:27:08 AM
The difficulty will also go down if the exchange rate does; although not as much as it will go up with an increase.

If you have a GPU it should be mining.  New AMD 400 series cards soon.

The high end AMD cards will come out in 4th quarter. The lower end ones will not be much faster than the current ones.

The $199 card is a few teraflops faster than a R9 290 so you will get about 20-25mhz out of it.

Still new to Eth system. What is DAO?

Here's a specific description of dao:

35  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnCMiner declares bankruptcy due to increased competition, upcoming halving on: May 30, 2016, 02:50:43 PM
I ignored a blanket condemnation of Sweden, made by a Swede, in another thread, because it's not something I know about. If someone wanted to trash the American business mentality, I might speak up - unless I thought his assertion was valid.

I defended a comment about "human garbage" in another thread because, as a person who doesn't like to be stolen from, and as a businessman who works to provide for my customers whether I win or lose (and I have taken my share of losses to keep promises I made, losses caused by others failing to keep business promises to me), I don't think it's entirely fair to blame the victim of theft for allowing himself to be robbed and give a pat on the back to the robber as "just doing his job".

KNC definitely was winning for a while. Their silicon design guys have always done a good job of keeping ahead of the curve on efficiency. But you can't convince me that building a case from 18AWG steel instead of 24AWG steel would have lost them the race, or that putting a second PCIe jack on the board (which, really, should have been there from the start) would have lost them the race. I don't expect carrier-grade, but I do expect machines that survive shipping intact and are designed to not catch fire. There's a reason my weakest PSU board still used 9oz copper where some other guys' strongest boards use 3oz.

As someone who has been building power supply equipment for 2.5 years, hosting miners for 1.5 years, designing and building miners for 1 year, and working my ass off to fulfill business promises for five years, I like to think I know a thing or two about building things right and how to not screw customers.

I also don't think you know me well enough to judge what I would and would not be complaining about. And yes, I know a thing or two about "best efforts" and "thankless/endless tasks" especially in the bitcoin economy. And I do not backpedal.

I rarely post here anymore but I will say that Sidehack is the go to guy for mining power supply solutions.  I have half a dozen of his server power supply adapters, they work FLAWLESSLY and never an issue with overheating or malfunction. His work is beyond reproach as is his reputation.

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will ETH holders sell? on: May 17, 2016, 10:38:54 PM

Millions of dollars worth ETH is waiting for the dump, be careful.

...and millions of dollars worth of BTC is waiting to dump, too...I don't understand what that statement is implying?

What he said!

You all have no understanding of greed.

No one kills the goose that laid the golden egg.

Up 33% sell a bunch (not all)

down 33% buy a bunch

Up 33% sell

down 33% buy

What don't you people understand?

Jesus, Bitcoin whales have been doing this for years.

Who is going to kill the money printing machine? Not me!!

37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Renting Ethereum rigs. on: November 30, 2015, 03:07:53 PM
I am willing to pay you 110% of what you are currently making mining ethereum. Please PM me if you have 400+ MH.

What someone needs to do is provide an easy way to set up a rig to mine Ethereum,
Right now its a bit too difficult for the average person.

I have a rig full of Radeon 290s but don't have the means to get one up and running.

Is there an easy step by step with binaries (say for Win64) that would take an hour rather than 10 hours to set up?
