21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's bury Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies once and for all on: December 30, 2017, 08:45:06 PM
You are asking a meaningless question here, bit the answer is easy, you are measuring ownership of a scarce resource.

I question the legitimacy of bitcoin being a real resource. Furhermore, the number of total bitcoin may be somewhat scarce, but the fact that it can be acquired by anyone who wants it means it is not really scarce, and the price people are willing to pay for it makes it less scarce as it is easily divided into fractions of a bitcoin.

There is reason to believe that banksters might be pumping up the price. Let's be very careful on this one. We might see dumping soon.

I am really suspicious with ripple since i thought no one likes this coin for being kinda centralized but i guess i was wrong. The think that annoys me is that it managed to overtake ethereum which is my favorite coin and i am sure it has more practical use than ripple.

Why would you be suspicious of something that is simply disliked be a bunch of bitcoin lovers on a bitcoin forum. Do your own research and make your own decisions. And, the fact that you were annoyed that it overtook your favorite?  Maybe you should be trading baseball cards, not money.

this is not about bitcoin,

this is about higher things that are more complex not just profits, but well

Question was not for you.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Explanation for ripple price increase? on: December 30, 2017, 09:48:23 AM
Whale traders. They call it 'rotation'.

Is there a more comprehensive explanation of whale traders and/or pumping groups?
I do understand that if someone all of sudden buys a huge number of ripple, that it causes a huge price increase.but at the moment he tries to sell this huge amount, there is a risk for a flash crash. And even if that won't happen, who's then paying for this profit? You need really a lot of people to invest$50 to cover the profit of the big investor.

In theory, its a race to buy low and sell high. Whales buy large quantities, giving the false appearance that demand is increasing. Then demand does increase, because all of the lemmings lose their minds and start buying, creating the actual price increase. Everyone who buys after the whale creates the profit, as there would be no profit if nobody bought after the whale. When the priced gets to the predetermined price the whale wants, he sells for profit, and then the lemmings come bace and start selling in panic, and the price drops fast.

This is why the intelligent person does research to find a coin with intrinsic value, buys as early as possible, and does not act like a lemming.

you were wrong then you are wrong now,

the problem with ripple is the bankster cartel they also created "bitlicence" to ban others, cryptoeconomics is about removing/ freeing the world from their influence

they are a bunch of jerks and i hope they will pay the biggest price for it,

the end of the US dollar and other national currencies.

Donald?  Donald Trump?  Is this you?

26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who’s Satoshi Nakamoto? on: December 30, 2017, 09:26:43 AM
They dont want you to know who they are. When they cripple the bitcoin blockchain and take the money, they want to remain unknown.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on future of Ripple XRP ? on: December 30, 2017, 02:25:02 AM
Anyone believing in decentralization, stop investing in this coin. They have found a good way to steal from all of you. If you are here to get money then go ahead.

I couldn't agree with you more. I believe it is mostly newcomers or those who don't get the whole idea of Bitcoin and decentralized movements. I don't believe in Ripple and I never will. I keep telling people around me to be careful about it to. I think Ripple is a project to stop/slow-down decentralized projects and continue to control people with semi-decentralized projects which are presented as decentralized on media. It won't work out. Banks might continue to adopt Ripple. As a Bitcoin enthusiast, I don't think there will be any banks in a few decades.

Yes, because it makes more sense to trust someone you know nothing about, and a currency based on wishful thinking. Put a wish in one hand, crap in the other, see which one fills up first.

Actually most coins are highly centralized in terms of hashpower and/or nodes.

Anyway, Ripple is built for corporate purposes, so they've gotta ensure that they'll profit if they'll hope to survive.

"corporate" purposes is just a scam word, of the corporate owning elite,

they want something to enslave idiots.

Centralization has ruled the world for thousands of years. If you’re such a genius, stop Ripple now. I command you,

seen that before from reddit. create your own story, thats copy and paste bullshit

Maybe its the same person. You have added nothing with your offensive comment.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: December 30, 2017, 02:14:53 AM
Why on earth would banks need or want Ripple? They can already exchange funds easily using existing centralized networks -- blockchain is useless in that context.

Another ignorant comment. Research the SWIFT system and you will realize why Ripple is desireable to banks.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: December 30, 2017, 02:12:02 AM
it's great coin but not the future one as it's a centerelized coin which contradict concept of cryptocurrency

This is an ignorant comment. Didnt Bitcoin contradict the concept of a currency?  Ripple may very well CHANGE the concept of cryptocurrency.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: December 29, 2017, 08:01:45 PM
The answer is no.  First, Ripple is the company, and XRP is the currency.  XRP is not the currency of the future, but it may play a huge role in the global banking market.  Only time will tell.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple will increase the Circulating Supply!! on: December 29, 2017, 08:00:02 PM
If people are getting greedy, the bangster will win.

Everybody lost the thought of Satoshi.
In 2008 the USA and the EU printed trillions of dollars and euros to stabilize the financial market.
The basic idea was to limit the amount of money.

This can only be done by decentralization.  Decentralization means not the decentralization of network. It means that not only one party or one government or the bangsters central bank can switch of the currency. It needs the majority of the community.

This is Bitcoin.
This is Ethereum.

But this is certainly not Ripple.

Unfortunately, there is a concentration of power in bitcoin and in any system. These actors then have the ability to undermine the system. I'm not sure that human nature allows for fully decentralised systems. Thoughts?

This is one of the most intelligent posts I have read.  I would rather know who has the power than be in the dark, as is the case with bitcoin.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Downfall of Crypto Begins with XRP on: December 29, 2017, 07:13:07 PM
XRP passed ETH on CMC, most of you are a bunch of a fucking fools

We are entering the new age when corporations will rule the top 10 on CMC, it's inevitable. With that, regulation and centralization will follow closely. We are drawn to centralization to rule over us sheep.

It was different before, when the markets were much smaller and away from the public eye, now that billions are being invested into the worst coin ever made, others will follow.

Welcome to the present.  So nothing has changed!
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple (XRP) is a shame to the crypto-community. on: December 29, 2017, 07:11:23 PM
You people realize we are trying to get away from banksters influence, right?
Disgusting.

You are completely WRONG.  You might be trying to get away from banksters influence, along with a small majority of individuals on this site, but the rest of us are trying to ride the wave and make money.  If you find that morally wrong, then I suggest you try living without it and tell me how YOUR MORALS bennefitted you.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: December 29, 2017, 07:07:46 PM
I've been holding some XRP for many years now. Ripple is on fire right now!

This thread is pretty hilarious in my opinion. The amount of ignorance, false information and just plain stupidity coming from certain characters is pretty laughable.

They're like religious fanatics, not too different from ISIS, in that both are delusional morons.

Agree.  And I cannot prevent my fingers from typing this... FAKE NEWS!  SAD!
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple will increase the Circulating Supply!! on: December 29, 2017, 07:06:03 PM
This may be symantics, but we should be clear.  Ripple is not printing new XRP each month.  The coins must exist to be in escrow.  They are simply being released into circulation.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple XRP is a complete fraud GET OUT! on: December 29, 2017, 06:32:46 PM
^ Yes, because the banks are interested in ponzi schemes.  I'm sure that would work out well for them.

You are not sitting by bank and ripple together  on the tabel.... They are sitting on the table all alone and They wont lose one penny if xrp go down or go up.

Please explain what exactly are you buying when you buy it? Is it a share of ripple like ico? Is it a valuta like btc? Is it a gas for  network based contracts like eth? Is it a payments system for renting cloud space like sia coin?

WHAT EXACTLY ARE YOU BUYING?

Its not an scam, it will work out perfectly for ripple and the banks and they don't gives a fuck if it goes up ir down.

Ok, one more time to be sure that there is no misunderstanding. You are buying something that you think is an ico or is an payment method. But you are actually buying air. Its not an scam but things can be 100% legaal and still you can get screwed. All the info is there and ripple is not telling any false information. But nobody read or understand it and just blindly look at the price graph.

On some levels you are right.  However, you can lose with any crypto.  All crypto is a risk.  For those willing to do their DD, it is a calculated risk.  In all cases, you are exchanging government issued currency for an intangible currency, one that may or may not have some intrinsic value.  Could XRP become valueless at some point?  Yes.  Could buying it still be worth it?  Yes.  Could BTC become valueless?  Yes.  Could buying it still be worth it for some?  Yes.

You guys missed out the opportunity on investing Ripple while it's cheaper then you all have to accuse a coin that has nothing did wrong in your life. Come on guys, me matured and move on. If you can't get a long with the ride then don't talk shit because Ripple is now blowing and it's started to heat their engines for launch.
I invested Ripple while the price was 0.0023 last 3 months ago so I grabbed the opportunity while it's cheaper than today.
Whether I invested or not, I would never accuse any coin that has no intention but to offer opportunities and do their task in order to increase their market capital share.

I don't think their ire has anything to do with missing out.  They are part of the group that doesn't trust a centralized crypto.  They think, if it's centralized, it's a scam.

Exactly, I was thinking that they are going to accuse some coins because they missed out the opportunity while it was still cheap, I grabbed the opportunity and other didn't so how do they feel about it? They're envy and jealous because they couldn't believe that a coin in the pas year have no value and almost dying.
They started to talk shit over Ripple that is now unstoppable increasing their prices.

From what I can tell, a large majority of posters on this forum post based on emotion (love or hate) and irrational thinking.  Very few really know what they are talking about, and are too lazy to do their own research to educate themselves.
