Hey everyone.
So I have been working a bit with BTCPop. Back a while ago they were staking on the wrong chain. Due to this they are unable to process withdraws until they are back to even. As such, we have the ability if we want to help them out. The est amount they are down is 130k. We can either try to donate funds to get them to even, or they suggested they will also pay a "reasonable" price for some, maybe half the market place?
I don't' have full details yet, but I wanted to get everyone's feed back first. I will continue to do due diligence to make sure this is all on the up and up.
Also has anyone had any success with other exchanges?
Thanks, Tranz
I would be willing to donate 30k HoboNickels, if BTCPop gives us the guarantee not to delist HoboNickels in the next time. If there are other people donating, we'll probably get the 130k together. Maybe it would be good if you could set up a donation address for it. Otherwise I could not achieve anything at other exchanges. Priceless.... Nothing like owning your mistakes. But shit happens. I might be willing to make them whole if they DM me and we can agree reasonable terms.

If a coin doesn't have a website, explorer, roadmap and an active dev team. Chances are it will be delisted from Cryptopia to my understanding according to their their site. _______________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________ https://www.crypto-city.comJust for ... whatever ... There is a website, explorer, roadmap, and active development team That is not the reason for the delist. With that in mind ..... If Bottlecaps, to name but one, is still listed then I can't for the life of me think what the reason for delist might be?

I don't think Bitcoin's price will fall below $5000, because the miners' bottom line is at this price. When Bitcoin is below this price, there will be a lot of investors buying Bitcoin.
Whatever the price you think ( a theoretical miner for arguments sake ) you are mining BTC for you can be certain someone somewhere is paying less. This number varies drastically around the world and miners will mine at loss to build a war chest for future bull markets anyway. I'd argue that someone somewhere is paying next to nothing, at least some of the time, due to the a mix of politics, geothermal availability and or the economics of running power stations around demand cycles. A better metric might be ROI on hardware vs MTBF of said hardware. There are investors waiting at all price points. The question is. At which price point do the investors outweigh the sellers / profit takers? I don't believe there is a magic threshold here. It could easily be $500 as $5k. This market has been, and will remain, irrational to both the upside and the downside. We'll find out when we get there. So far these charts confirm my bias for more pain to come. Simply because the universe won't let me get rich that easy, if at all. We'll know soon if this was the bitcoin thread to follow or to ignore =)
either we reverse and go bull from here, either we go to 5200, but either way a big move is in preparation, place your bets gentlemen !!!
This can't be ignored now. It''s been too accurate so far. It's relevance might end right here but it will be a usable reference for may market cycles to come.

Nothing wrong with that upper resistance line that a log scale won't fix.
3rd option is an eternal boring flat negative grind until everyone forgets to check a chart for a couple of weeks.
Bitcoin is going out and maybe some time. A hang over to remember (or try forget)

Confirmed all coins offloaded from Cryptopia into my wallet.
Waiting on @Tranz for good news Their move !!!!
It's not exactly clear. Is there official notice from Cryptopia to remove balances by a certain date? If everyone removes balances? What? If nobody removes balances? What ?

I am going to offer Cryptopia 12 million to allow CAP to stay. 1 million per month. I also want to give 1 million to the person running the block explorer. Please post an address if you would like the bounty. I just hope that Cryptopia accepts the 12 million CAP to stay listed on there. If not there are some other exchanges out there that don't cost a lot to list on. If I'm not mistaken wasn't CAP also listed on TradeSatoshi at one time? or was it Nova Exchange? These 2 exchanges seem to be good if Cryptopia doesn't accept the offer. Looks like Cryptopia have set CAP status to Delisting. Open for withdraw ..... Can someone else verify this? I don't see the page come up in the exchange list. Well, we as a team (not talking about everyone as obvious some have been involved) could have done so much more in the last six months, such as at least offering to sell some caps to those who wanted more to stake. The is no longer an exchange pair In cryptopia go to Coin info button on top bar (between forums and services) and search cap listing status is "delisting" In balances (uncheck hide zero balances if you don't have any on deposit) The withdraw button in balances (cap) is active and will offer you the usual options The deposit button in balances (cap) is inactive and popup text reads "delisting" Here's hoping something changes. .. make me an offer ....

@noise23
Looks like there is a bug. If you try to split the wallet but leave the split block value empty, it will crash the wallet.
I will look into it but why leave it empty? To split the block you have to put some value there anyway Because "User" .... No one wants to have to restart a wallet because they fat fingered an input. Especially over something so easily validated. It's the kind of positive user experience you'll never get praised for but a total complaint magnet when it's not perfect. Not that I'm hearing much complaint ... very civilised bunch of truckers round here

Yes Props to Tranz for stepping in and working to make matters right.
I'm a bit perplexed as to giving Cryptopia back lost CAP if there is not going to be a market (anywhere?) for them. This would make it impossible for the exchange to balance the books and even make an OTC sale pretty pointless.
So I'm assuming for now there will be a market reopening at Cryptopia when things are straightened out in their eyes.
I haven't really been paying attention since the Ferengi decided to print his own money but things seem to be moving in a positive direction at last.

I asked for info about cap on cryptopia, the reply I got was: "Bottlecaps is still syncing, it's very very slow"
Cryptopia wallet has been stuck on block 906,134 for at least a week now. No they got past it a while ago, but never updated the message. I think they were in the 3MM a week ago. OK that's a positive. There was me thinking it was a real time update.

Has anyone had problems with latest version wallet crashing on Win10?
I have been running 1.1.2 forever and thought id update to 1.1.4
1.1.4 has been giving me all sorts of (random) problems .. lots of crashing, stopping sync from bootstrap before it's finished then trying (and failing to continue on network) then successful sync and a refusal to stake or advising no mature blocks / no weight ..
I rolled back to 1.1.2 and all is fine
Let me know if this is known issues or needs investigating further.
Funny feeling I should have done this with a blank wallet and imported key after sync but .... motivation lacks
Been running v1.1.4 since it was released. No issues. I'm using the v1.1.5.0 version and it works well, on the contrary, the transactions seem faster. Then there is BIP 38 tool... Ahhgh .. forgot about Hyperstake.io .... 1.1.5 not on OP here I'll do a weekend redo with the latest release. Cheers

I've been waiting 32 days for Poloniex to process a 1050 CLAM withdraw.
Is anyone else having issues withdrawing CLAM?
12 days ago one of their reps said they would follow up on my ticket in 10 business days. (I believe Monday is the 10th day)
Just had a withdraw problem ticket solved at Polo that was opened on new years eve. Not Clam specifically but maybe a guide to current ETAs at Polo for this kind of issue.

Looks like the wallet at Cryptopia has stalled.
I have put in a ticket but if anyone has a better contact or Cryptopia admins read here ... just heads up.

Has anyone considered skipping on these centralised exchanges completely and using the bitshares platform? It would be possible to run a decentralised organisation with collateralised CAP and a bitshares issued token. Lets call it the CAP foundation The CAP foundation account can be permissioned across several foundation members (vote for them if you like) While CAP can happily stake on the CAPS blockchain the organisation can release tradeable CAP tokens with regular airdrops for holders to distribute the stakes into the market. When a user withdraws they receive CAPS to a caps address.(see open.btc open.ltc) Best thing is minimal costs, the trading fees can be set by the foundation and it puts a POS coin on a next gen exchange. If you are not familiar with bitshares go take a quick look at openledger or bitshares.org. 0.5BTC to get on an exchange for them to charge fees ?? GOOD GOD them days are over soon enough.

The public addresses and corresponding private keys are in the wallet.dat file.
You don't ever "download" this as part of the qt package instead it is created the first time you run the wallet client. If you move this file (don't permanently delete them ever, even one with no coins) the client will create a new one ( this will contain a completely new set of private / public keys)
In Windows the wallet file can be found in the following directory
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\HoboNickels
This folder holds all the block-chain and transaction state data but most importantly the wallet.dat
Good idea to keep a regular backup of the wallet.dat file as it contains all your current addresses (including change addresses) - The block-chain holds all the tranactions
In short that wallet.dat is EVERYTHING. Take care of it, it's the only access to your coins and no one can help you replace it.
Sounds like you re-downloaded the HBN client software. You ran the software, it found the data folder already existing from your previous experimenting so just started up and connected to the network. In this case you would not notice anything change. Try renaming you wallet.dat and running it again. You'll get a new set of addresses because a new wallet.dat has been created.
Lastly passphrase protecting you wallet will encrypt the wallet.dat data and add an extra layer of security should it fall into the wrong hands.

million dollar marketcap for a project that is a hobo nickel. What a time for everyone. bankers and such are getting the world swept underneath them by nerds on this mongolian pretend money exchange forum
Back in November 2013 Bitcoin was discussed on a major BBC news programme. The reason I remember it so well is thus. Emily Maitlis (presnter) mentions a list of coins right at the top https://youtu.be/pF_WaKytYT8HBN staked (pun intended) it's place right there! I nearly fell off my chair! Tea went everywhere. Girl does her homework, props. HBN survived (that's what hobos do right) and by the looks of that current price chart this year is shaping up to be flippin epic! Actually quite an interesting watch now we know the story this far.
