Honestly, you will most likely not need to mess with voltage at all. The units will peak out the hub before you ever need to adjust the chips core voltages.

if you are using the barrel connector, you would need a 8A 12V power supply, https://www.419mining.com/shop/power-supply/12v-power-supply-for-gekkoscience-products/ -- make sure to select 8Amp output.

If you want to use the 6 pin power input, a good quality PC power supply should work using the PCIE power connector.

its SUPER important that if you are going to overclock your newpacs, you need to provide ample active cooling to keep them from overheating.

I was kinda hoping bitshopper would show up to address Europe stock questions. He's had an order with us that's finally getting shipped so he'll be back in stock of things pretty soon, but I don't know the state of his order backlog so that might not have helped much.

As for the new shop, it's still pretty disorganized and we still have a lot of stuff in storage but the new place is fully functional. It's also a lot better insulated, which is great since we hit zero degrees (approaching -20C) the last couple days. We finally got gravel in the driveway, to replace all the mud and ruts, and my living quarters upstairs are almost finished. Some equipment to help stabilize the internet connection should arrive next week, and the kitchen still needs a fair bit of work. But what matters for you guys is the workbenches, machines and testing stations are all up and running. Goods have been rolling out all year to date. I'm even finding some time for new designs, some of which are not bitcoin-related since I pretty much work on whatever I want.

Cant wait for the new products rolling out. especially now that R606 sales are stable and strong

Is shipping usually faster from China to the UK then from the US?

US to UK is 5-7 days with USPS Priority Express. anything less and your asking for your package to get lost/damaged.

Is there a tutorial on solo mining with  GekkoScience NewPac on windows using the Bitcoin core wallet? Thanks for you help.

the reseller who sold you your product should have included basic getting started instructions. but you can always refer to page one of this forum: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5053833.0.

I thought there was a way to change the port used for api listening but I cannot find it. Currently, my Terminus is using port 4028 but so do my GPU's the issue I have is that I cannot use Awesome Miner Software to monitor both my GPU rig and the Terminus at the same time as they are both using the same port. If I disable the Terminus and start up my gpu's AM sees them but wont see the Terminus if I then turn it on afterwards and vice versa if I start the Terminus first and the gpu's second.

so, is there a way to change which port it uses for the API?

if you use a cgminer.conf, you can change it directly in the JSON settings. If your doing command line switches, add --api-port <portnum>

Yes, currently the pi4 is the only one that can handle a solid usb throughput. Prior to the 4, on the Model A and Zero, the single USB 2.0 port is directly wired to the SoC and on the B, 2 and 3 models the USB ports mux  to a single combo USB/Ethernet chip, which is itself a USB device connected to the single upstream USB port on BCM2835.

just a quick reminder to expand on sidehacks post, just because your offering 8A or 10A from the power supply, the pod will only pull what it needs UP to that max offering. so if you run at a lower speed like sidehack states, you will only be pulling 5ish amps from the power supply.

As a side note, right-sized power supply matching is still very important for longevity and heat dissipation. Just like a car engine, running a power supply at 100% load 24/7 is asking for trouble. I tend to match my load to around 70% of the max output offering when building custom solutions where the power draw will be constant.

power supply efficiency follows the same basic principals as the old Goldilocks fable. not to big, not to little, but just right.

heres a good (its old but still applies) article from Toms Hardware about power supplies: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-manufacturer,2913.html

page 2, "Firecracker Or Power Plant?" offers a laymen's terms breakdown of finding the right power supply, and not burning your house down.

Hey CryNow, We are actively working on a pi4 based control system for the R606/Newpac miners. Nothing complete yet but whe hope to have it out soon... mostly when I find free time.

419mining is a good platform, I highly recommend them!

Thanks Klintay! Cheesy We feel the same about EyeBoot.

Honestly, I'd recommend talking to 419mining. Tell him you bought it from MinersSupply and he'll probably take care of you anyway, since MS kinda got booted as an official reseller and doesn't have stock anymore.

I'm a bit confused with your reporting though - does it say no chips found, or 2 chips found? Because [oo] would indicate it's detecting 2 chips. Either way, yeah it definitely sounds like a hardware issue.

Hey Hersh9,  Ill send you a PM.

a 1Gb pi4 is more than enough if your only using it as a mining controller.
we have 1Gb kits with a power supply available if you one, just doesn't include the case.

Wow, just received an email sent from 419mining at 3:48pm to let me know that the r606 is now back in stock, only to log on to 419 at 6:58pm after seeing the email to find that they are once again out of stock!  Popular little beasts, aren't they.  Guess I'll have to shop around to find one now.  Keep up the great work guys!

Sorry about that guys, we posted 2 holdovers we had for RMA replacements but they sold within minutes. We have not received the large stock update from GekkoScience yet.

3x NewPacs (one older generation, 2 newer generation - the older one has a sticker on it like the 2Pacs did with it's serial on it, the 2 newer ones don't and the chips are tan colored instead of black like my original NewPac)...

I would assume you are referring to our serial # tags we used to place on the units. A number of customers have asked that we no longer do that, hence, the newer units dont have product tags on the side of the heat sink.

From what I've read, the hub should be able to support like 6x NewPacs at 600MHz. I'm running my 2Pacs at 275, and the NewPacs at 450. None hit the hashrates they should; at 450, the NewPacs should be hitting 102.6, and the 2Pacs at 275 should be hitting ~30. Two of the NewPacs are close, they're at 98.23GH and 99.95GH, which is within 5% of where they should be, but the 3rd is sitting at 91.9GH and the 2Pacs are sitting at 24.71. They've been stable at least, and I'm pulling this data after about 24 hours of hashing. Is there something I'm missing?

Like sidehack did already answer, not all chips are going to hit the same speeds. have you seen any plateau's from cgminer and had it step down the frequency on the units? and Always remember, more power, more heat, so more cool means better hash rates.

try running

Code:
./cgminer -D --verbose 2>logfile.txt

it will ask you for a url, username and password inside the program. and log all errors to logfile.txt.

for the url, only enter the XXX portion from stratum+tcp://XXX
