I don't have an opinion on this particular issue (Lauda has many good ratings, but also several that seem too trigger-happy), but I have been getting very annoyed about how centralized the trust system is. The reason that I made it a complicated trust network instead of a centralized list/database is so that it'd be decentralized and subjective. I've been seriously thinking about reopening the idea of enforcing user-defined trust lists via suggestions, etc., deprecating DefaultTrust. I'm happy that at least Lauda's trigger-happiness was noticed. Many honest forum members suffered from it. Equally happy I am that the centralization of the trust system was noticed too. When power is centralized it needs to be objective, and when power is subjective it must be decentralized (through there are some philosophical problem with which I'm not going to burden the cryptocommunity). I'm sure that today feels like D-day for many normal, fair Bitcointalk members who fell victim to Lauda's abuse. The gang is plotting already, but for now it feels like spring has arrived. I don't think that board is moderated much if at all. Probably just user reports.... Edit - why the f would anyone waste time over there anyhow?  It's one of the most interesting boards on the forum....Or WAS i should say. Gonna report till i'm blue in the face...See what happens. I would like to come on this forum and read more than the Meta section. The rest of the forum is absolute trash as of late. |

In theory. But, these discussions don't happen anymore. The board doesn't have a dedicated moderator, so maybe theymos would be willing to add one to clear up the mess. We all know that the politics and society has been a mess for awhile. Hilariousandco has mentioned it a few times in the past.

Try reporting threads in Politics and Society.(One of my Favorite Areas of the forum) Your Accuracy will drop to shit......watch as the threads remain even though they are shit and have nothing to do with the topic. I have reported so many only to be ignored and watch my accuracy drop. That Area has become off topic and i don't visit it anymore. So sad. Piss poor Moderating in that section that's for sure.
I don't spend any time in the politics and society board anymore. Most of the things which need to be discussed have already been discussed throughly and any major events that need to be discussed I will read at other sites. Spam is spam at the end of the day and should be easily identifiable most of the time. Taking a look at someones post history and including a note in the report field can sometimes help if they are posting the same thing over and over. Although, I agree some sections are easy than others for example, most of my reports these days are from the altcoin section and it's very easy to keep your percentage up when there's hundreds of posts which consist of the same spam. Though, it's still painful to sort through and report them all. I'm fairly new to the community You have reported 28 posts with 100% accuracy But I'm giving smerit and reporting posts on a daily basis, trying to keep an eye on the newbies in the Beginners and Help section, and learn new things in the meantime. Good job! I disagree. Politics and Society are ever changing Day to Day so should that Sub Forum. You Can never cover it all. The world is too vast and too much going on to cover it all or discuss it all. I enjoyed the Debates and discussions there about the World Happenings From people in the specific area. Such a great area it was. Sad to see it has gone to shit.....Now i have to visit Reuters.com to get my world info ....And it's not from the people of said countries  |

The only board I don't report is my local board, it's not moderated at all, the guy doesn't care much (he post once per month or less, last time was to say oh I see the merits system  ) He only waits the members to report and as no one report, no one moderate (members got tired to report for nothing and seeing the guy is inactive) To give you an exemple, you go to the dev section and you find a topic about how to find a bounty campaign LOL. Bitcoin section is mixed with altcoin, members introduction and so on... We can't always put the spoon in the mouth if he doesn't make an effort Should either speak to him about it, or contact theymos. If there's enough spam to justify moderation then you'll need an active moderator to deal with it. I'm sure theymos will check whether the mods 1. active 2. if the thread needs either another mod, or replace the current one. 576 posts with 99% accuracy Hard to reach the 100%, sorry Mods if sometimes I waste your time With a report accuracy at 99% you certainly aren't wasting anyones time. Are you saying we should ignore it?  Not at all. My question was very real. What is the purpose of viewing it? I just don't see why you would need to see the list. If the option to view the list is broken then yes it should be fixed...But what's the point of that option? |

Could be the best option. But it is not the most fair and I would like to appeal to undestand the motive for the banning. If what I have posted was spam, I believe the mods would delete the post too. But none of my last posts was deleted.
Appeals take forever. 7 Days is nothing at all to wait out. Consider yourself lucky it could have been longer. Advice while your banned: you should read the rules of the Forum Including the Stickies in each Sub Forum. |

All forum users are now afraid to charge Merit, because they are also afraid to get a minus in the trust.
I feel for ya man. No system is perfect, and this one is new. Give it some time, post normally, and then ask for forgiveness. Don't ask for forgiveness...Demand it. There are a select few on the Forum who have time and time again taken it upon themselves to be supermen of the Forum. They have abused and dishonored what theymos has publicly spoken against. These users have gone fro Labeling Scammers which the trust system was built for to Labeling everyone from Shitposters to Broken English. The trust system CAN'T be used for Opinions,Theories,,Broken English posts,Poor posts Etc. Etc. But it is used for those reasons today. Demand the Negative be Removed. |
