The quickest easiest solution to all the current problems on this forum is simply banning paid sig ads. Problem solved but theymos has already stated he won't do that. So now we have to deal with the BS.

This is a Discussion forum about BTC it should have never been allowed to get to this point. It is now a place to earn some BTC while destroying the forum.

Sad Sad

I would say it's up to members to make their own due diligence and to decide if a product/service is good for them.
I see a lot of garbages advertised on TV, it doesn't mean I buy everything
And I don't like to have someone/something blocking me thinking it's not good for me, I can decide myself and if I am wrong, I am wrong.
we're not teenagers, you're not my wife Tongue

Agreed.  Stop treating everyone like Children....Let them learn about BTC and what it's all about. We can't hold the hands of everyone and gently show them the way to what is right or wrong for every individual.
85  Other / Meta / Re: RFC: Ads for "Bitcoin Interest" on: January 16, 2018, 09:59:23 PM
I don't find using "Bitcoin" deceptive. No one owns the name Bitcoin and it is a symbol of decentralization and freedom. Who are you to say when, and if some one can use an alteration of the Bitcoin name? Plus these hard forks are direct decedents of Bitcoin, just as how a child would use the same last name as their parents. So Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, etc are justified.

Another good point to make here is that this topic is an unfair and biased post against the development team. You are an administrator and any opinion you share will most undoubtedly be agreed with... just because of your status.  Sad

Fantastic points! All are perfect points to allow the Ad.  People need to take the Responsibility and Educate themselves about Bitcoin and the various Forks associated with Bitcoin.

I have seen many many Users and Mods on Here bashing people about their posts because English is not their Primary language and seems "Broken" or sounds "Stupid"

This includes theymos  " - While some amount of error is difficult to avoid, if your English is so broken that you sound stupid, then your post will be deleted." topic is here can't be Quoted https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2722359.0

English speaking people who seem to think that learning a second language perfectly is easy should probably try it themselves.

Imagine that??

You have to ask yourself how many languages does theymos fluently speak? or how about The Pharmacist? or Mr. Prep?

This is why there are local boards. I would expect to get bashed too if I tried posting on a board whose language I don't speak. The crux of the issue is that the only reason they are posting on the English language sections is because they're being paid by a signature campaign to do so. I don't see people getting bashed for their English in sections like Scam Accusations, for instance, since the same conflict of interest isn't present.

Don't get confused....This is a PUBLIC forum just because a few pricks have no tolerance for a person who speaks a second language or even third language below our "standards" doesn't give a right to mute a person from posting in other sections outside of their primary language.

They have a right to post in ANY section to the best of their ability with their adopted language without harassment from idiots who can't even comprehend what learning a different language is all about.

Sure it seems broken at times and may seem "Stupid" to the admin but give them a little tolerance it's not easy.

I agree spam like +1 should be deleted or plagiarism but if a guy is posting in a 2nd or 3rd language have a little understanding.

Altcoin talk is OK there as long as it doesn't look like an advertisement. Any topic is OK unless explicitly banned (eg. Investigations content).

I like the Idea and it's a step in the right direction to Avoid Sig Ad Spammers but i think what you said above is going to backfire and it's going to be a mess in there in a few days.
89  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius 5 BTC on: January 08, 2018, 10:23:34 PM
Not only does it have 5 BTC but it also has 5 Bitcoin cash. BTC is worth about $15k each X5 =$75k + 5 BCC X $2370 = $11850   Total $86,850 + the Value of the coin not being Peeled= $90k?
90  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Anacs undergoing a PROCEDURE CHANGE on: January 08, 2018, 10:09:32 PM
I'm a Coin Fanatic of 30+ Years and i cringe at the Coin Grading Companies. I love Silver coins and especially silver Dollars. I have sent so many in to Grading companies only to be disappointed at their Level of "Professionalism"

Whenever a Coin Grading Company offers Re-Grading services which the top 3 do i just want to puke. I'm not surprised at all about their policy changes.

Every Grading service is flawed and can be over ruled by the next company. Just shows what the company is made up of.

If you use a grading Company to grade coins or Crypto tokens use it as a GENERAL Grade never ever rely on it being perfect.

For them to NOT guarantee the crypto value on a token shows their lack of investigation into a coin-token grading service. Screw them save $59 and grade it yourself with the proper learning tools out there regarding coins/tokens/

97  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to delete negative trust from my account on: January 06, 2018, 02:09:54 PM
And maybe he's just a sad lonely man who wants some online friends to talk to and we should feel sorry for him. Someone pretending to be a suicidal teenage Asian schoolgirl is deceptive and untrustworthy behaviour whatever bullshit reason you can try muster up to try justify it.

I'm just giving the OP an example of why his Feedback won't be removed.  You have your opinions and Assumptions on peoples behaviors so do i.

You should leave the Scam Busting to Vod he is more thorough with his investigations than you are.

Too many Hands in the Pot spoils it and that's the reason the DT is broken and the OP is a Victim of it.
98  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to delete negative trust from my account on: January 06, 2018, 12:58:15 PM
For the OP

Here is an example of Abuse.

"   Sob story which is likely just a ploy to try get people to add "her" blatantly obvious fake facebook profile."

Left by hilariousandco a Mod here on Bitcointalk for a user TanyaDegurechaff. In his Abusive "Trusted" Feedback he claims this woman used a SOB story to promote her Facebook page.

What did she do wrong? was she Phishing? Advertising? was she looking to boost her friends list? what did she do? He says to add people to her facebook page what rules did she break?

Where is the Link to her facebook page? Seems to have been taken down or was never there....Either way why is the Neg Trust still there? What's the reasoning?

If you have the answers to this let me know....Just 1 Example of the broken trust system.

If you can't trust a Mod here with the trust system who can you trust? LOL

BROKEN

Scamming isn't against the rules either. Do you propose negative feedback isn't left for scammers now? And don't you think catfishing or some dude pretending to be a girl on the internet with a fake profile and pictures of some random asian girl (which they admitted and then removed) isn't dodgy? If I was pretending to be someone I wasn't with a fake facebook link in my profile obviously placed there to gain followers you would think that's ok? No. It's deceptive and I don't trust anyone who does that. The sob story was likely just there to draw in white knights to add "her" out of sympathy. I'm sure the begging or scamming somehow will have come later in some form. I think 99% of people who come here and do everything they can to let you know they're female at every opportunity are 1) Almost certainly not female and 2) Doing it for ulterior motives. When you have a self-admitted fake facebook profile and pictures I'd say it's pretty obvious what's going on and I would question anyone who though that isn't untrustworthy behaviour.

Who cares if HE is pretending to be female it's not hurting you or the Forum. People sell FB pages with thousands of friends on it for Advertising. Ever think of that? That person may have done some "Weird" stuff by your standards but didn't do anything wrong. The Negative feedback in this case is Abuse. Just Assumptions.

No. Feedback is rarely moderated here. It dosen't matter as it's untrusted and nobody will pay attention to it.

To the OP. Let me correct what hilariousandco has said.

Feedback Both Trusted and Untrusted have been and will continue to be abused. There is NO Moderation in regards to this and never will be. We have always had abuse with the broken unattended system which was originally intended for good. We have always had people in the "Default" trust system and currently, abuse it. There are plenty on that list who abuse it today.

The trust system along with this Entire Forum has been neglected for a long time. You will not get it removed until we have an Admin(s) that actually put some time into the Forum and start correcting the problems here.

You should msg theymos about the problem but i will guarantee you there will be no response he is too busy spending forum funds to deal with your problems.
