21  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB $15,000 worth of Bitcoin // MoneyPak, WU, MG, Cash Deposit, Gift Cards on: January 22, 2014, 03:48:11 PM
Hey, are you willing to use escrow for this transaction? Right now I have 0.2 BTC that I can sell to you. If some other offers that I have don't fall through, I will have 3 BTC to sell to you. Around 3.2 to be exact.

Yes, sure. Start a trade on LBC. The link to our profile is above.

i will use bank wire or SEPA.
i will also like to escrow deal.

We don't use Bankwire or SEPA. We prefer to stay away from all payment methods which are reversible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Last I checked OP didn't ask any of you for your opinion on his rate or practices.  Wink If you're interested, post. If not, move on.

Thank you so much Maui for answering for me, I will however still say what's on my mind.

Sorry guys but you don't even have enough money to purchase this much.

We're established and trusted, something you aren't familiar with, i'm sure. Also nowhere did we state that someone was forced to send it "upfront". Also I hate to burst your bubble but people send us tens of thousands of dollars a day "upfront". We have moved over a quarter million dollars worth of Bitcoin and USD in the past 6 weeks through Localbitcoins alone, so please take your theatrics somewhere else.

Our fee is very, very reasonable at that rate. You are dealing with REAL professionals and are getting HONEST service, something that most people aren't familiar with. If you go take a stroll on Localbitcoins.com you won't be able to find near that rate for the kind of service we provide.

So please move along, our reputation and trusted feedback speaks for itself. Stop being envious little girls and let the big boys conduct their business please, thanks!

Oh, forgot to mention that we sold all those Bitcoins for that rate in about 2 hours after posting it.
32  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying up to $20,000 // DAILY worth of Bitcoin. Paying with CASH or SILVER! on: January 15, 2014, 11:43:34 PM
I didn't do a deal here, but I would like to comment on the business model.

First off, the negative... these guys want to sell over stamp and buy under... so if you're a oppertunistic seller or buyer, this probably won't work for you....

Okay, the positives....

This is a totally viable business model.  I don't personally have any history so I can't offer my assurances that they are not gonna screw you over... but my feeling is no.  These guys seem to have figured out that they can make a viable business by being an exchange for those w/o the ability to deal with anyone but coinbase.  I am not trying to be too glowing here, but my gut tells me these guys are real and running a real business.

Word of caution to the OP:  Please make sure you are registered as a money transmitter, or msb, or that you deal mostly in cash and silver and are careful.  You have a viable business idea here, but, you run the risk of running afoul of the regulators.  Always act as the white hat and you should be fine, but look into it.

Okay /uselesspost

Thanks Jake for the words of caution, we definitely have all of our ducks in a row when it comes to bitcoin trading and we make sure of it.

You are right as far as our business model, we are here to make a profit. We cannot sell and buy at the same price, as much would be expected. We sometimes although do have great buys and great sells it just all depends on our current holdings. Some times we want to leverage risk and we will liquidate a large portion of Bitcoin for merely 1-3% over Spot depending on our volume at the time and vice versa.

We encourage escrow for all of our users, that is not a problem for us. We do however wish that our customers use Localbitcoins.com. In our opinion LBC is the longest running honest Escrow in all of bitcoin land, they have earned a true trustworthy award. It seems that even the faithful John K. on this forum has somewhat vanished and been unheard from, so this again reinforces our idea of only using Localbitcoins.com as our escrow service. Their fees are 1% and we, the advertisers, are the ones who will always pay it.

If a customer wants a little better deal then we can of course deal outside of escrow for an extra 1%+ in their favor. It doesn't matter to us, escrow or not we pass the savings onto you. As Jake has stated we have a business model in place and continued volume through happy customers is what generates our revenue and keeps us going.

Our rates may sometimes not be the best as others, but we will always be the best when it comes to quality, quick, and safe service. We want to let transactions be as seamless as possible when going from BTC <---> USD and we're always here to walk anyone through the process. There is one thing that is our golden rule and it will always remain: Your privacy is our main concern. We understand it's none of our damn business what you do with your bitcoins or money, so we don't ask or want to know anything more than we need to.

So if you are looking to either buy or sell, let us know. We look forward to more future business.

Thanks!

35  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer KennethLBell on: January 14, 2014, 11:49:57 PM
This is a warning to all. Do not buy from KennethLBell.

A few weeks ago I was interested in buy bitcoin, but didn't want to wait the week for Coinbase. I made a WTB thread looking for bitcoin, and since i've been scammed before I wanted to use paypal in case. He messaged me that he was selling, and we worked out a deal. Here is his only for sale thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=392681.msg4233509#msg4233509

Shady, I know. But since I was using Paypal, I was slightly reassured. We agreed on a deal, and I paid him.....then I didn't hear from him for 3 days, nor did I get the BTC that I paid for. Obviously I knew it was a scam, but since it was new years (it was actually, Jan 1st) I decided to give it a extra day or, because I know people are out celebrating. Finally on the 4th day he contacts me and apologizes. I figured whatever, and we message plenty to figure things out. He says his Paypal is locked up, and can't access it. I know this is most likely true because at the same time I was doing another paypal-btc purchase, and that user had the same thing happen (eventually I did receive my btc from that guy). So we actually agree on a second deal, larger volume, and of course I pay him.

A day goes by, 2 days go by, 3, you get the picture. No communication from him, and no bitcoin sent to me. However on Paypal, he marked one of the transactions as "shipped".....electronicly....I'm thinking, What? I've paid you, and haven't received anything, but your marking things as electronically shipped?

I haven't heard from him in 9 days. He hasn't responded to any of my messages since 9 days ago. However he has logged onto here plenty of times, and then logs off without responding to my messages. If his paypal account is locked up, then i'm fine with patience, i've already waited 2 weeks since I sent him my first payment. But I need to be kept in the loop, as he obviously does not respond.

I am thankful that I used paypal. I just opened up 2 disputes, and will keep this thread posted on what happens.

KennethLBell, if your reading this. Why don't you respond here, since you obviously chose to ignore my messages. But I highly doubt you'll do any of it, and paypal will end up having to take control. What happened to the clear communication we originally had? or did you do that because you knew you were getting paid. And once you had the money you chose to ignore and not deliver the BTC. So what if you gave me a good deal on buying BTC, its not a deal if one person gets paid and the other gets nothing. If you want to send the BTC, go ahead and i'll cancel the dispute when I receive it. But I doubt you will.

Sorry for your horrible luck here.

I have great advice if you're new to Bitcoin. Try using www.Localbitcoins.com to purchase your coins next time. Try and work with payment methods such as Cash Deposit, MoneyGram, or Western Union. Only trade with traders with 100+ trades and skim through all their feedback. We're located there and we would be happy to buy and sell bitcoins anytime and help you through the process.

Tomatocage's comments may have sounded harsh, but unfortunately it is like the wild west out here in some parts. You should always stick to a trusted escrow service, especially when dealing with characters or individuals that you do not know. The point of Bitcoin is to be treated just like cash, there is no 2nd chances when sending. You wouldn't give a random person some money to cut around a corner to get something for you, the same applies to Bitcoin.

I placed an order a few days ago and still no shipping confirmation yet. I paid with PayPal so it gives me some reassurance.
