21  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea quarantines and burn their cash due to Coronavirus on: March 09, 2020, 10:43:57 AM

This will be another reason for countries to switch to the national digital currency. Paper money has always been and remains a carrier of various infections. And now, after the coronavirus outbreak , this is becoming relevant again. But South Korea and other countries do not yet have a ready solution to this problem.

Unless you intentionally use marked banknotes, transactions in banknotes are hardly traceable - this is why most of the money laundering and crime-related activities are using banknotes, not cryptocurrencies as a narration of some mass media claim. And wiping out banknotes and coins is, on one hand, eliminating this money laundering potential, but as well can easily become the most efficient way of invigilation of yours (or even enforcing changes for your life - authorities could require you to pay higher health insurance because in last year you have visited fastfood restaurant 40 times, while nation median was 8 - and as we know, fastfood can be unhealthy for many of us).
22  Economy / Economics / Re: In the past where taxes were honoured ~ on: March 04, 2020, 06:50:15 PM

In a normal country, such situations should also be provided for. And if a person's income is less than the subsistence minimum, then their salary should not be taxed. In such cases, the person on the contrary should receive an allowance from the government.

This is one of the ideas having already been discussed for the number of years "guaranteed income", which will be funded from so called "robot-tax" (same source of funding will be used for pension scheme).

23  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto mass adoption achievement on: March 04, 2020, 04:34:42 PM
Remit created in cooperation with Ripple labs and working on XRP just announced they will allow transactions made via a text message. This has an incredible potential for wider adoption of cryptos for less tech advanced people. Really, for many people even using traditional wallets may be a problem.
24  Economy / Economics / Re: Unfair aspects of KYC. But KYP is here on: March 04, 2020, 04:25:34 PM
Kyc is here.to stay. It is one of.many tactics used by many governments to attack all coins

Not coins, but monitoring literally all the financial transactions - so then no tax is left unpaid, and no one has a potential for money laundering. And if you make it more Orwell/Brave New World-style, if authorities are able to track all your transaction, they can check whole your life (can be by AI systems). If you buy too much of alcohol with your card, they will classify you automatically as an alcoholic and send you automatically for rehab or take your children. Or if you buy too much fast food, you will be forced to pay twice as much for healthcare.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Can corona virus or any other epidemic disease can collapse Banking? on: March 03, 2020, 05:00:34 PM
To some scope epidemics can collapse banking:

1. If companies have suspended operating, people will not get paid and some of them will cash out their savings and start living off them. If too many people will do so, banks will (due to the fact of the partial reserve standards) will not have money to pay their customers money. Such a situation with banks you have seen in Greece and Cyprus couple of years ago - as a result, there was daily cash out limit imposed on users (like 50 EUR per day or so).
2. In the longer-term effect, if companies are suspending their operations or are forced to shut down/operate for part-time only people will start losing their jobs, what has a domino effect: if the factory will reduce their staff or close, local restaurants or shops will lose customers and close as well. Many of the workers/owners of businesses have mortgages or other loans to pay. If you cannot pay off your mortgage, the bank takes over your estate and tries to sell it.
But what if there are hundreds of such houses and very few people willing to buy them at all? We have seen that during the last financial crisis in the USA. Banks bankrupt as a result.
3. If the death rate is very high, deceased do not pay their loans. If they leave no legal heirs who inherit property (and debts as well), no one will pay back to the bank. As well in a case (in some countries it is allowed) when the legal heir will resign from all inherited property and debts - the bank will not get back money.

These could heavily damage banking system.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A question about halving on: March 03, 2020, 04:39:58 PM
As we are on altcoin subforum we will give you an example.

In December 2020 the price of LTC was $20. Half a year later, there had been halving of Litecoin. Because of that, the price of Litecoin skyrocketed to almost $200 (5 weeks before halving itself).
After this peak the halving bubble burst (one of the reasons behind that was that for smaller miners, mining stopped to be profitable and they went mining another crypto), and today the price of LTC is $60.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Money value inflation Feeling that money is not worthed?? on: March 03, 2020, 02:13:57 PM
Inflation as such is a direct result of fiat money becoming unrelated to even a partial gold standard. Some countries as well as weaken their currency (by printing more of it) in order to boost export and make import more expensive or simply to roll their debt or try to minimize effects of an economic crisis.

But as well we have other reasons for inflation which are indirect - increasing the labour cost, media (like water, electricity), taxes paid by companies or even in case of agricultural products weather. Anyway, the final payer for these is always the end customer.

In the modern world as well the bank savings account interest rate is often below the inflation rate - therefore it can be compared to literally burning money.

This is why there is a growing popularity of looking for more profitable forms of investments, including cryptocurrencies or stocks.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona Virus is a Fake Flag to destroy China! on: March 03, 2020, 01:10:55 PM

In fact, the problem is very serious. The thing is that the proven vaccine is still not found and people continue to die. Also, outbreaks are constantly recorded in other countries. Today, the virus is already on every continent.
In addition, there is a threat of virus mutation.

Technically flu virus keeps mutating all the time, and vaccines are available to the "past" variants of it, not "current" one. And its mortality is as well similar. The main difference is that coronavirus is a new type of virus.
29  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: U.S. Planning Cryptocurrency Rules on Transparency on: March 03, 2020, 12:00:14 PM

Maybe it's time to do away with the whole concept of issuing broad sanctions against entire countries. If they work at all, they tend to hurt unrelated people the most.

In our opinion targetting innocent civilians with sanctions is often counterproductive as the real wrongdoers holding power in such state bypass sanctions anyway
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from hackers. on: March 02, 2020, 03:34:21 PM

I think even though you have provided security in your wallet with a very high level like that then there are still some other ways for hackers to steal your assets easily, you should know that some places of exchange some time ago that have a high level of security also have security systems are strong but can still be hacked, so there is no place to be safe, all of them still have a very high risk.

Hardware wallet can be the right choice because it does not directly interact with devices that have an internet connection.

Of course, we had to forget about the rule "do not keep your cryptocurrency online for longer than really necessary". And remember to set up all the given safety and backup options possible - if the hardware wallet brakes, you will still have access to its content.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin declined 3% as the coronavirus spread in italy on: March 02, 2020, 12:24:08 PM
I wonder if the price of Bitcoin starts rising up would we see something like this?
Would they create a similar thing like Bitcoin price starts to increase 3% as the corona virus spread in italy?

they have already done that! just search the keyword (bitcoin price rise + coronavirus) and you will find the articles that were linking the rise right before this drop to the spread of this virus around the world.

This is how greed and panic are artificially fuelled by the news in regards to BTC to make whales job easier. We have seen that the most clearly in pumping seen in December 2020 by mass media including TV as well as regarding "nuclear crypto winter" in 2018. But if you are not caught by these baits and decide to go the opposite way, you can make a nice profit out of it.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can porn sites make bitcoin more popular or will it brings negative effects? on: March 02, 2020, 12:01:54 PM
If porn sites accept bitcoin, I am sure they will automatically convert to fiat because of volatility, so this won't have a much effect on the market as per pushing up the price. I am not a fan of the Porn site and I don't visit them.

As we wrote above - even if porn sites will convert to fiat almost instantly, it is not a problem - more problem had been for their customers. As they had on a bank/card statement name of the company they had been sending their money to, it is literally a matter of couple of minutes for a spouse/partner to detect what type of business this company does, what in case of paying with cryptocurrencies and sending money to a wallet is more complicated. For the porn industry, accepting payments in cryptos as well should be more beneficial than credit card payments, as there is literally no threat of chargeback taking place. Not to mention the fact, that the card payment providers regard porn industry/gambling as very risky businesses (because of chargebacks) and the fees for each such  transaction will be very high, much higher than on any crypto exchange.

And if we get even just 100 000 new BTC users who instead of HODLing make regular transactions, volume and number of transactions will grow what can be beneficial for the whole crypto environment. As well, these users on some moment may start thinking "what else I can use this BTC for", and as they already know how to use it can promote it further, for online shopping (like gifts which should be unnoticed), what could bring us to the original idea of Bitcoin being an online currency, not just an investment.
33  Economy / Economics / Re: How regulation affects the crypto price on: March 02, 2020, 11:30:04 AM
We are fortunate that we live in a multipolar world, because if only the United States made a decision of this kind, it would certainly not be reflected in the cryptocurrency market for the better.
However, the US has opponents such as China and it can easily turn the rules of the game fully approving the cryptocurrency, for example.
The United States simply will not have any chance in view of the fact that China will impose its game.
Cant disagree on this one. So regulations actually affect crypto market heavily, but since  its not restricted by us only - we are seeing something like a tug of war between all market regulators.

What is affecting cryptocurrency related legal businesses as well. Eg. may be advertising of services. As main advertising-related companies are based in the US (google, yahoo, facebook) you may not be able to promote your services at all, because they will ask you for a cryptocurrency license even if it is non-existent in your country (or applies to general financial-related services, not specifically to cryptos). If you cannot deliver it - you cannot promote your services locally, but companies from abroad (which may not meet local legal requirements, but have a foreign license not valid locally) can.
34  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: U.S. Planning Cryptocurrency Rules on Transparency on: March 02, 2020, 11:23:42 AM
So like in the rest of the world... And for some reason we're not seeing any concrete steps being taken to allow for better international cooperation between police forces and judiciaries of various countries to make it easier to catch scammers and fraudsters. The best EU and the USA can come up with are onerous regulations.

There are some attempts, but the thing is the people in these law enforcement bodies have problems with understanding the nature of blockchain and cryptocurrencies - their main solution is to try to make them work in the same way as bank wire transfers and use already available tools.
But this is a true challenge - you can cut off eg. whole Iran from the international banking system due to the UN sanctions, but how to do the same in case of cryptocurrency wallets? Especially as you yourself can create a cold wallet?
35  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: March 02, 2020, 11:09:37 AM

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to protect bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from hackers. on: March 02, 2020, 10:57:59 AM
Basic rules:
1. Do not use public internet connections
2. Do not store online your crypto for a minute longer than really necessary. Use hardware wallets or cold wallets for storage.
3. Do not click any clickbait/suspicious links from websites or even messages on messenger/Facebook. They might be very similar to the real ones as well (like bilcointalk.org or bitcointalk.or) and may capture your logins, passwords or replace real wallet addresses with hacker ones. So then, in this case, the safest approach would be to use separate devices for private stuff and dealing with cryptocurrencies.
4. Double-check the wallet address before the transaction - transactions are not reversible.
5. Check the security of the website - if there is no SSL padlock and address does not start with https:// be very cautious.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can porn sites make bitcoin more popular or will it brings negative effects? on: March 02, 2020, 10:36:09 AM
Porn sites and paying with cryptocurrencies directly would be beneficial for people who would like to hide the fact of using such websites as they buy crypto on exchange and send the crypto directly to the porn site.
In such case from the point of view of the spouse/partner, you would see a transaction linked to eg. Linkkoin exchange, not a porn-related company. And as wallets are not under names of companies/individuals - it would be hard to reveal for what crypto was used for.
So then if the trading volume and number of transactions within blockchain would have been increased thanks to porn it could be beneficial.

BUT - as someone already pointed out: these websites may be subject to hacks, and in case of replacing the porn website owned wallet addresses to hackers one - you will not get your money back. Unless there will be uploaded some sort of short movie of  a porn star writing the wallet address on a paper  Grin
38  Local / Polski / Re: Pospekulujmy o aktualnej i przyszłej cenie BTC. on: March 02, 2020, 09:38:24 AM

Włoszech praktycznie zamarł, a strefa Schengen zostanie skutecznie zawieszona. I wtedy dopiero zacznie się panika.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US DOJ Calls Bitcoin Mixing ‘a Crime’ in Arrest of Software Developer on: February 28, 2020, 04:39:44 PM
I feel like we still live in an approximately okay present, but the future looks horrific. Any attempt of having more privacy will most likely be seen as a crime..

Yes, the most forms of privacy in regards to the financial matters will be outlawed. This is why cash is slowly being removed in many countries (see Sweden), in business transactions in Europe you have limits for paying in cash (above some threshold you can legally pay only by a bank transfer).
As well FATF with its recommendations which are basically obligatory aims for outlawing privacy solutions like private coins, mixers and make each owner of wallet fully identifiable (just as bank account owners).
40  Local / Polski / Re: Bitcoin czycha na nasze dzieci!!!1oneone on: February 27, 2020, 11:34:36 AM
