Whilst supermarket shelves are being denuded of loo tolls, tinned tomatoes, soap, and other non-perishables, the fresh food seems to be being ignored. Another virtual asset that has this attribute is a novel. It doesn't exist anywhere, but has a variety of manifestations, but ownership can be a valuable asset.

We are in a completely new world. Stock markets are no longer based on fundamentals, but based on the activities of the central banks, and people are starting to realise that. The market started to tank over the corona virus and the oil wars, and that created a bear squeeze. Speculators are having to sell their safe haven assets to cover themselves, and this has affected the price of gild, silver and Bitcoin. These movements can create their own secondary bear squeezes. It looks as if it is another great time for the acquisition of safe haven assets like Bitcoin. Just make sure you get your timing right.

You have to be careful with the Guardian - it pushes many of the globalist projects, and is often inaccurate. For example, current versions of the virus are not aerosols. They don't mention ACE-2 receptors, and the increased risk from smoking ( which increases the ACE-2 receptors). No mention of gloves being better than face masks either. Governments are constantly trying to reflate economies by rewarding the bankers. This may help the yacht builders, but it doesn't really help the bulk of the population. I've always thought that the simplest way to rebuild an economy is to provide an earned income tax refund. If they based it on earning from the tax period of a couple of years ago, and restricted it to people who are current residents, then that should benefit the most important part of the population. A 10% refund would be cheaper than supporting the failing banks and stock markets.

The US sanctions were supposed to weaken Russia, but in fact it made Russia stronger. The Corona Virus has messed up a lot of global commerce. and this includes travel and transport, which has led to a reduction in demand for oil. OPEC tried to limit production to maintain the higher prices, but Russia has seen it as a chance to hit back at the US, so they refused. WTI is now trading at $31, and Russia's production costis around $20, so they are still making a profit. The US shale oil ( fracking ) production costs are around $72, so they are making a loss, and starting to default on loan interest payments. This will hit the derivatives market in the US, and has contributed to the drop in stock prices. This created a bear squeeze, and speculators are being forced to sell hard assets to cover their obligations. This accounts for the pause in the rise of gold and silver, and could be an explanation for the drop in the price of Bitcoin. One could take this as an indication that Bitcoin is becoming a hard asset, and this is bullish in the long term.

I'm watching the support levels, and waiting for the hockey stick rise that I believe will happen to gold, silver and Bitcoin some time this year.

There is a long term channel that Bitcoin has never broken the lower bound, apart from a few wicks. At the moment it is still above that, so there would appear to be no cause for panic. Bitcoin by its very nature is highly volatile, but it keeps strengthening its base for wealth protection in my opinion. Just make sure you buy sensibly.
