22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to present BTC to Newbies ? on: January 04, 2016, 02:02:03 AM
Keep it as simple as possible...
Include incentives for them...
A decentralized system is far more secure than a centralized database... you can reference the recent security breeches with:
1) Anthem Blue Cross (80 million patient and employee records, potentially exposing names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, email addresses, employment information and income data).
2) Ebay February 2014...compromising customer names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth
3) JP morgan 2014... compromised usernames, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.
4) Home Depot... 56 million credit card accounts and 53 million email addresses5
5) Significant others klike  Sony, Target, Global Payments Inc., Tricare, Citibank, Heartland etc

You can mention the limited supply vs. the Fed reserve printing money at any time.
Large growth potential with a solution for the 2 billion unbanked...  http://www.worldbank.org/en/programs/globalfindex.
Nearly 1 billion in recent VC investments including Wall Street mainstays like the New York Stock Exchange, Goldman Sachs and the Fortress Investment Group.
Bitcoin is out performing all fiat currencies for the last five year average.

That enough for now don't want to overwelm them :^)

23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mikie Tyson released a Multi Sig Wallet on Android a week ago on: January 04, 2016, 01:06:13 AM
This is the route for adoption... whoever is involved in marketing the product (who the hell is doing this?) should actively pursue celebs... their tweets alone will cause a significant tremor.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why even use BitCoins? (read the post!) on: December 22, 2015, 12:01:39 AM
Buy all the items on your list at a 25% discount with purse.io
Fight government corruption... Bank greed... devaluing fiat & limited boarders.
Or collect your FUD $s from the 1%
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: December 18, 2015, 09:18:17 PM
We would form the island of Bitcoinopia...
Grow organics... solar powered.

What happens if any of the major CC companies go live using the "good chain"?
What are the effects of segregated Witness for luring larger companies sitting on the fence for scalability?
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Welcome Wagon on: December 10, 2015, 01:25:39 AM
Cool thread bro.. way to support the community  Tongue
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Welcome Wagon on: December 10, 2015, 12:56:26 AM
This thread is a simple one. The bitcoin community welcomes all newcomers (minus paid fud trolls).
When you first step into the bitcoin realm it can be intimidating... please consider that this is a family of geeks and investors... not always of mindset of keeping it simple... yet the bitcoin train is one crazy and exciting ride... don't give up.
One thing you will learn is that there are always folks willing to help you understand and you should not be embarrassed to ELI5 (explain like I'm 5).
Seriously, this is a completely addictive hobby that has far reaching financial impact personally & globally... the more you learn the more you want to be involved in this disruptive revolution... we were all nubes at one time. Hopefully our long term brainiacs can realize the importance of adoption and tone down the elitist attitude.

Sooooo... welcome aboard... jump in... the water is warm... the tide is rising and the surf is incredible!  Cheesy

What got you interested... and how can we help you better understand the real Satoshi's dream... Questions or comments?
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in 2015: Why did bitcoin fail? on: November 29, 2015, 07:50:55 AM
Anything but failure... the VC investments are growing... the community is 5 million strong... governments are relaxing their restrictions... and the price is steady.
The trend is positive.

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 hour till the Federal Reserve Emergency Meeting on: November 26, 2015, 02:30:09 AM
Odds are a 1 full point increase, which will spark the second asian currency crisis and most likely the collapse of China's economy
So essentially your saying this will f**k-up everybodys Black Friday.

This will make bitcoin's price go spiralling downward by tomorrow morning.
Well that ruins my Thanksgiving.
Doubt this
31  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-22]BI:Circle, Bitreserve and BitPay are turning their backs on bitcoin on: November 23, 2015, 02:52:07 AM
Like a cheap Ho... pull out of their cheatin' ass soon.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is there to get into now that mining is for the rich? on: November 14, 2015, 02:54:36 AM
I'd imagine there will be some nice opportunities with Open Bazaar (and competitors) once they open the doors (like a month or so?).
33  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: November 14, 2015, 01:13:44 AM
I'm confident this is going to hit the masses so fast it will make our head spin... why?
Competition... it will only require two factors... the first being seamless transfers between currencies (already in progress)... the 2nd will be large entities fear of losing the competitive edge... a recent example would be when American express announced their investments in the chain Visa & Master card jumped in within one week.
You could say that they will have their own blockchain (any PR is good PR) but the point remains no major player wants to be left behind especially when the competition is drastically cutting cost internally and for their customers.
Very few are arguing that digital currency is not a high probability for the near future.
2016 will be phenomenal for growth based on the big players interest.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: no matter what will happen to bitcoin.. on: November 13, 2015, 03:31:43 AM

thousands claiming that they have the killer app or hardfork to take bitcoin into the Bitcoin2.0 space (more kickass features)....but what new development will bring 2.0 to the masses?

I don't think it'll ever be an overnight thing. It's a tough sell. If it ever does reach adoption it'll be a slow and cumulative process over a period of years. There'll be plenty of killer apps but until more educate themselves or are educated they'll stay away.

I'm leaning the other way... this instant growth is more likely to come from a countries adoption vs a killer app... although the two could be in conjunction... example: Brazil goes all in on BTC after a seamless conversion from a "Bitcoin Bank"... with the ability to spend their coins in fiat CC or BTC.

Let's look at it this way... a lot more are jumping in than dropping out  Wink
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / JP Morgan Part of largest Customer hack ever on: November 10, 2015, 11:39:48 PM
Maybe someone should explain to Jamie Dimond that his clients are safer with Bitcoin...

37  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is coinbase going to be the next "goxed"? on: November 09, 2015, 04:03:51 AM
While I do use them on a limited basis because they're insured... I would like more information on the level of consumer protection.
38  Economy / Economics / Don't fear the Reaper on: November 09, 2015, 12:18:39 AM
It's certainly understandable why there's pushback from the usual financial cronies... and yes they have the highest lobbying group in the world... however, what they don't comprehend is that international interest trumps local regulations... While they could manipulate a delay in progress the truth is that this is what informed people want in their life... the benefits far exceed banking as usual [insert any revolution here]... then they have to fight 1 billion in investments from companies with big pockets.... they are not just going to roll over.
The tipping point of beneficial commerce has been reached beyond the boundaries any one regulating body.... with a global financial crises each country is looking to weather the storm and protect their piece... once the progressive advocates like Canada & UK start to see positive results the dominoes will fall.
I like our growth potential... what do you think?
39  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are now at $410!! on: November 04, 2015, 03:20:47 AM
Just thinking the price will going to 500$ this week..

Yep that could happen if the trend stays the same but what if people starts dumping right after we reached the price? LOL. Grin O can't help but to think that this bull will soon reach it's higjest point and then suddenly can't support itself and then everything will start to fall down again.  Undecided
Anyone selling now is shooting their own foot... let it ride
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Where's the Positive News on: November 04, 2015, 12:22:16 AM
It seems that this site has become doom and gloom... is anyone paying attention to China allowing deposits for BTC... or maybe a mention that the price is moving north of $400?
There is so much positive news going on right now  Cheesy
