21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: June 18, 2024, 08:10:20 PM
It is highly unlikely that various casinos will stop claiming KYC procedures. Because regulatory requirements aimed at preventing money laundering, fraud and other financial crimes are unlikely to stop it. Casinos are required to verify the identity of their patrons and ensure compliance with the law. So that it can provide complete protection against illegal activities. All of these issues are troublesome for the customer but are an essential part of the casino industry to maintain security.

It quite unfortunate that Casinos only ask if the user registering the account is up to 18 without them working on further verification process, and children below 18 can simply register without the casino even knowing. Though even some adult would prefer not to go through the process of providing a means of verification to prove that they are actually up to 18, and I believe this is among the reason why casino decided to start showing less concern for the verification process. The KYC process is really important to the casino and also and also to the society as it would also reduce the number of persons creating multiple accounts for abuse.
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling losses are traps to new game on: June 18, 2024, 04:57:26 PM
Quote
This is true when you don't gamble in moderation, you fall into the recovery pressure trap, just like your friend. I really think you guys should talk or motivate this guy into quitting gambling for now before things gets out of hands.

It seems he's also unemployed, which makes him see gambling as an earning opportunity and this is the architect of his problems.

When a gambler loses excessively while gambling and continues to lose his money, he must stop. It is even more important to stop gambling, as when a player loses a bet and gambles again to make up his money, he is sure to fall into a bigger trap. When a gambler cannot control himself, he will always lose his money so that person should be stopped from gambling.
It is most wrong for a gambler to consider gambling as a source of income, so one should exercise self-control and play responsibly while gambling.

It is essential that every gambler know when to stop especially when they are becoming addicted by either increasing their bets or continue gambling even while they are experiencing loss all the time. After experiencing loss for a while I recommend that you give a break and that break should be use to rethink and then restructure your mindset so that you won't run into addiction by acting greedy. Learning to control ones emotion is very important as gamblers because if you don't know how to, you'll definitely get addicted in no time, and that was why the minimum required age for gambling is 18 because people above 17 are know to have become responsible for their actions and their brains should have been mature to think responsibly.

Increasing the number sets is ideal even though at times in a set the reps might not be complete. It still make sense that way, also having a time off deliberately.
You are welcome back

It's best to work on quality pushups than having completed the daily 100 pushups. Trying to cheat the process adds no value to the body or this competition. And that why having some time to rest and relax the muscles is also important. I prefer giving a rest time of at least 5 minutes, and that's if I'm trying to rush the whole process else I'll have to spend upto 10 minutes as a break time in between the sets of pushups. Resting time is as important as push ups, because paraventure you fall ill due to stress, you'll have to spend extra money for treatment and quit pushups during that sick time.

Today I did a total of 103 push ups after 3 set of quality pushups.

25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: June 17, 2024, 08:20:05 PM
What do you think of this method?
Is there anyone among you who does it?
Give us one of your winning strategies, of course if that is possible.

It's not as easy as you've said it to be. Most addiction starts with the mindset of doubling their money. And most gamblers have ran into trouble by thinking they would be lucky to double the money in their possession and gain from it, but unfortunately the probability of winning is not in the hands of the gambler but it's essentially based on luck. Even after most gambler gets lucky to double the money, they might also get tempted to play again because they had a swift and easy experience in doubling the money. However I prefer settings targets even if you successfully rounded up your profit to +50% it's ok by me, because you cannot win all that has been lost to gambling in a single day, considering the duration of years you have spent gambling both for fun and otherwise.

30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one of those did you partake in? on: June 16, 2024, 09:17:51 PM
I am beginning to think that the only time a gambler gambles for fun is only when he gambles with what he can afford to lose. In this case, a gambler has $10,000 as his savings, and he gambles with $1000 down, he or she won't feel sad when they lose it (it means they gambled for fun). But if a gambler who has the same $10,000 gambles for above $5,000, and he loses all of them, the gambler won't be happy about his actions, and it might result in chasing of losses (which means he didn't gamble for fun). It means that both those that say they aren't gambling for fun sometimes gamble for fun, mostly when they risk an amount they can afford to lose. The actual time you gamble for fun is when you risk what you can afford to lose and not when you say you want to gamble for fun. However, a gambler might say he will gamble for fun and still end up not gambling for fun when he starts gambling. One can know a responsible gambler if he starts gambling.
well for me , the best way to decide if we are to have fun or to target winning is to put or to allocate the enough amount each time we gamble .
if you are to have fun then bring 100-500  dollars but if you are to  try winning for life then allocate thousand or more money but make sure to know when to stop .

Even while having fun we should know when to stop gambling, because gambling can be tempting at times. Gambling within your risk tolerance is very important to keep a balanced financial health. Paraventure you gamble outside your risk tolerance, you are only looking for a way to get addicted because if you loss the bet, you'll definitely do to the best of your knowledge in trying to recover back what has been lost. There are familiar stories of those who use their salary for the month to gamble, thinking they can double it and go home happy, but what they didn't consider was a plane b should incase they lost the bet and that will eventually create panic and cause them to make the wrong decisions. So giving yourself to be tempted is wrong as it will lead to addiction as it an irresponsible way of gambling.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet against the club you support? on: June 16, 2024, 08:56:03 PM
I'm willing to place a bet against my team if it means I get to win some money, but it becomes another story when i'm a part of a football club and i'll be betting against one of their matches. I'd rather not risk losing my job over a one-time bet since there's a conflict of interest. In sports betting, you sometimes have to set aside your emotions and learn to take the opposing side except if you're working for a club or team.

Being a normal supporter, without even working for the team I am supporting, like being a Manchester United fans, I will never bet against my team because I don't always want my team to lose to any team. Talking of working for the team I support, it would be better for me not to gamble than to bet against my team. But the truth is that there are many gamblers who do bet against the team they support. Those who always do something like that, I see them as not true supporters of their teams , or they are addicted to gambling, which is reasoning why they may be acting like that way.

Well, it's quite fun to support you team even when all odds are against them in winning the game. But those who see gambling as a source of income wouldn't want to loss a bet, and if it means betting against the team they are supporting to make extra funds they'll do that. I prefer not to add my team's match in my betting ticket If all odds are against them in wining that particular game. Though there are times where we believe in our team and still place bet on them to win. Instead of betting against the team I'm supporting I pre to pick other options like, BTS, corner kick over/under, shot on target.... Then talking about players betting against their teams, this is one of the most disrespectful decision a footballer can make while he still plays for the team, and there are certain penalty to such acts.

33  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casino gambling is more of profit chasers while land base is more of fun on: June 15, 2024, 10:17:30 PM
Conclusively, anyone trying to be emotional (desperate) to recover their money is only unwise.

Very good opinion, yes a gambler who has experienced defeat and they cannot control their emotions well instead he is more aggressive in pursuing victory or thinking about recovering his money then he is not a wise gambler. Because a wise gambler can restrain himself and control his emotions when he is in a bad state and he also has a good mind that it is better not to pursue the victory because it is useless if it is pursued until all his money runs out even if at that time he is not lucky then it is certain that he will lose continuously and a wise gambler always thinks positively in all his next actions.

Learning to control ones emotion is a basic necessity as human, aside gambling it's important we have self control so that we won't jump into problem that we ought not to. It is assumed that as we progress in age we also gain experience and mature minds to make good decisions but most adults tends to do the opposite and that's because they didn't get the proper orientation or they aren't discipline. Most person after battling with their emotions for so long just give up to addiction, fighting addicted isn't easy but we can make it easy when you set time and limit to reduce your exposure to gambling. Self advice is one of the strongest way to get going as it can sharpen your thinking faculty and help you stay positive and responsible.
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greediness or Addiction -which one is more disastrous? on: June 14, 2024, 08:32:25 PM
They both can result in losing money. Whichever a person has and it comes to a point that he loses everything, it's all disaster.  But addiction is harder to fight. Addicts will just keep depositing even if the money is intended for something else and the domino effect happens quickly when the person can't pay the bills.

You are right, we should offer help to people who are addict or find it hard for them to quit gambling even when they tried so hard to stop.

That is why it's good and advisable for people to gamble responsibly because it can cause a lot of disastrous things in their lives such depression, frustration and can even affect their mental health if care is not taken. So let's try and gamble on what we can afford to lose and stop when we know we are not winning again.

It is more easier to talk someone out of addiction when they are just beginning to experience some of the symptoms, than when they are already addicted. Yeah most persons wouldn't want to receive any advice from any person because they might think they are doing just fine, or they might be too proud to admit that they can make mistakes along the way. Gambling has a way of destroying your mental health if you fall into addiction and at that stage, the addited gambler might become more arrogant, not wanting to take advice or admit that what they are doing is actually wrong. Separating greediness from addiction sounds a bit off, as they both work hand in hand. All addicted gamblers are greedy, and that's the major read n they are addicted.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: June 14, 2024, 08:20:26 PM
I actually wouldn't say the EPL League is a farmers' league because Man City has dominated for four years in a row. It's not impossible that next year Man City will win again. Because as you said, Man City apart from having a great squad, they are also a great coach and he has been building the team for a long time. This is very different from other teams which often change coaches so building a squad is very difficult every season. Yes. If Pep Guardiola does not extend his contract after next season, perhaps Man City's dominance will disappear because Man City is great because it has a great coach too.

Agree. Next season the only mature teams will be Man City and Arsenal, so only Arsenal will be able to stop Man City's dominance because several other big teams are in the process of building a solid squad. Arsenal in two seasons has shown good progress with Arteta. In fact, this season they almost won the EPL trophy but unfortunately they were still unlucky because they lost important points in several matches. Man City also won its fourth EPL trophy with high pressure from Arsenal until the end of this season, proving that the EPL league is not a farmers' league.

Yeah, you gat some good point there. Changing multiple coaches isn't the best way to set up a good team, it's kind of a form of distractions in delaying the team from arriving at their potential on time. Giving the coaches time to understand and think critically of the best strategy that would work best for the team based on the mindset and how smart the players are in making those moves. I believe changing coaches is one of the reason why Chelsea's performance for the passed 3 season is kind of a big disappointment to them with respect to them being a big team. It would be difficult for Manchester city to win the EPL title next season, and this is obvious because most premier league teams have started cooking for next season. Though Manchester City still remains the favourite team to win the EPL next season but I don't thing premier league would be as easy as the last four seasons.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 13, 2024, 09:50:20 PM
The people withdraw all the wins and never to play again? I don't think that possible for any gambler because that kind of winning is also another way of making people to gamble more. Though winner might withdraw all the money at that time and spend them all but after some time he will still come back again and play because money is not enough for the poor and not for anyone. But I like what you said in the last paragraph. It is good to keep some funds in the account to have fun whenever you are bored.

This is gambling, and humans generally are difficult to satisfy, no matter the amount of win a gambler makes, if he is not disciplined he is likely to still make deposit and try to double the profit once more and majority of this experience by gamblers turn out to be the start of them losing all they have won. Like I said earlier it take only a disciplined person to stay clear from this habit, withdrawing your profit from the casino or gambling platform doesn't really guarantee that you cannot still make deposit and gambling with all the wins. This is one of the reason we must first sharpen our thoughts to know good from bad so we don't fall victim because of ignorance or greed. I once used to be greedy but after I noticed the error, I had to look for alternative, and then I started using the money from my wins to purchase things immediately I won a bet. Sometimes I look back and think of how funny some of my actions were, but that really help me shapen my mind out of addiction zone, I can now make deposit without touching the funds for weeks.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: June 13, 2024, 09:27:32 PM
What about alcohol? Is it bad for society? Then what about number of families it has helped to build? Cheesy (ok, as well as to break) In the situation with gambling it depends on how we look on it. If we consider it as a money losing activity, then it is definitely bad. But if we consider it as entertainment, then why not? However, I think we will never have a clear understanding if it is bad or good for society. One just can not exist without other nowadays. It is taxes, working places, money turnover. All that is healthy for society. Imho, I would say that it is good. Your might never gamble, but with taxes from gambling police, doctors and firefighters get their salary, you get your road fixed with money from taxes and etc. But why it might be bad? Because someone has lost all of his money, imho that is not a society problem, but a problem of an individual.

Yeah, as with everything in life, gambling should be done in moderation.

It's the same with the example of alcohol you mentioned. Moderation is key, if you drink too much you can end up in a bad place.

Same with gambling, if you lose all your money then it's not fun any more.

I believe what we all need in this life Is to be disciplined. When a bettor is disciplined, he would have any issue with addiction. The only reason the society see gambling as an irresponsible way of making money is because of the attitude that have been experienced by those gambling addict. First of all, a general age barrier was set to ensure that children don't get one on one experience with gamble, because they are like to fall for addiction and w call them the leaders of tomorrow, how then can we seat back and watch the leaders of tomorrow messing around gambling addiction. I believe everyone who has been gambling for more than 3 years and haven't given themselves to addiction are actually smartand disciplined persons. Because it takes a lot to resist the voice saying "keep playing until you arrive at a huge sum of profit.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading or gambling? on: June 12, 2024, 07:29:58 PM
Trading or gambling?

-

What advantages do you think sports betting and card games have over trading and investing?

Trading requires determining the time we make to get a profit. The gambling that is played does not set a time period like trading.
The goal of trading is profit. Gambling has several purposes such as testing luck, having fun and money from winnings if obtained.

Gambling is a game. Trading something that is traded.
This means that there is a difference between trading and trading. Regarding risk, in trading and gambling there is definitely one.

Nice opinion you gat there mate. Gambking could be played for several reasons, to make extra money/profit, it could be played amongst yourselves for fun sake, it could be used to make a competition more serious... However trading has just one objective, which is to make money, it requires enough time and expertise to fully understand how to analyse and make predictions based on the chart at hand. If by trading we mean FX trading, stock exchange trading, crypto trading... Then you know trading is not for fun but rather a serious business that could help support your financial level. Non of the both trading or gambling are guaranteed source of making money continuously, it's advised you have a source of income to help keep the process going. However the both are important when rightly used without getting too addicted to it or making irresponsible decisions.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The real winning of gambling is withdrawals on: June 12, 2024, 07:12:29 PM
Whenever I win, I usually feel this strong urge to gamble more and also increase the amount I'm using to gamble. I do fall for this urge most times and the result is always disastrous as I end up losing the money I won with great pain and regrets. The only time I can say I have won is when I make withdrawals and possibly use the money for something else. As long as the money is still in the platform, there is a high chance of using it to gamble more. I decided to create this topic to see how other people manage their winning in gambling. If I notice a better approach, I will switch immediately as I don't want to continue experiencing the pain of winning and later losing the money again.

Op it's a good thing you Summoned the courage to bring this issue here so it can be discussed and the possibility solution provided. However some persons have brought the suggestion of setting target and withdrawing your profit. Withdrawing your profit will help create a barrier between the gambling platform and your account, to some persons this might work while to some that the thought has eaten so deep into their heads they'll still make the deposit and gamble until everything is exhausted or until they hit a satisfactory figure. That could be very dangerous, in my opinion withdrawing the money from the gambling platform is not enough to help you escape this addiction, I believe you have to understand first that what you are actually doing is getting into addiction which is a very bad experience when you have fully given yourself to it, you should know how gambling addicts behaves, and if you don't want that, then make up your mind not to fall for those thoughts ever again, learn to be disciplined and your problem is solved.
