21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here succeeded a friend to play online gambling now that casino are close on: April 13, 2020, 03:21:04 PM
Majority of casinos are now closed but anyone here succeeded in inviting a  friend to play online gambling now that casinos are close
indefinitely, I'm sure a lot of gambling casinos are open to playing in online casinos at this current situation.
Well yes I was able to convince a few of my friends to play on online casinos, I have also made them join online rummy circle website also, where we can play against each other too. I used to think that it won't be much fun to play with friends online, but it is actually entertaining activity and the time also easily passes by while playing with friends online. They were not that much interested at first but then they eventually joined one by one.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: a disease or a virus or is there business in it? on: April 12, 2020, 06:12:57 PM
Is there any chance that when the corona virus appears, some scientists have discovered the antidote of the virus itself so that there is an element of intention regarding the spread of the corona virus because there is a business element in it so that the antidote for the corona virus is sought after by many people, this is like a film about spreading viruses that can kill and destroy the economy globally. what do you think about this?
Many speculators also say that the Corona virus was a bioweapon that was being made in Wuhan but was somehow leaked due some reasons. But who are we to say.
Even in this situation, there isn't any vaccine available till now and those which are being developed are far off from being sent for human trials, for some vaccines it is being assumed that the human trials may begin by the end of this year.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have control or not? on: April 11, 2020, 07:11:31 PM
It depends on the situation when i am playing gambling because if i am experiencing a lose streak or losing several times that will be the time that i can control myself to stop playing, so i could avoid myself from having huge losses. But if i am experiencing a win streak i have problems in controlling myself that sometimes i become greedy because i assume that i am so lucky.
Different emotional conditions are occurred in the two sides of gambling addictions, winning and losing are not the decision points to stop the addiction problem. Controlling yourself is not decision, whether it happens or you continue what you have been doing in the regular dates. For big winners, they can limit the betting amount per round but the situation is different for the long sequence losers.
In order to have control over the game you have to observe and follow your rules clearly! It seems to me that something similar exists in trading on the stock exchange... When there are no clear rules - you lose control over the situation and lose money!

Well, there some things that would counter that control. We, humans, are prone to our feelings, to our emotions and that could affect the way we bet or gamble. Despite the rules that we set up, despite the limitations, we could still break those. Based on experience though.

I agree! Sometimes you can't control your emotions... In such moments it is better to just stop betting or playing! And back to the game later...
But we realize this thing pretty late when we have post all of our bankroll and when we are sitting in our chair idle and thinking what was wrong with my method of gambling.
I can proudly say that I am not an addicted gambler and I just gamble for fun in life to pass some time and if I win in that time then its also good but if I loose I never try to win back my losses to come even.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: April 11, 2020, 06:46:14 PM
~snip~
~snip~
This crisis is really unexpected so we can't blame workers who are asking for their companies' help. During this time, employees would know if their employers value them and have a concern for their situation. It's like a survival game for most of us so we can't rely everything on the government or even for companies who are also trying to save themselves from bankruptcy.
^ Definitely right, we need to survive at this moment. It is really sad to those people who did not have savings for any tragedies come in the future, just like what happened now, everyone was not ready and they don't have enough saving in order to survive without help from their employer or any help from the government. Nevertheless, I never heard government such a country affected by a coronavirus that never helps their citizen.
Most of the people don't save for the hard times that can come at any time in the future, they tend to live from paycheck to paycheck and in the case of an international pandemic where every thing is shut down they don't have their jobs which are the only source of income for them. So the employer should always think about his employees rather than always making profit and he should give a month or two salary in advance to the employees for sake of these hard times.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee 2020 Prediction on: April 10, 2020, 04:29:10 PM
From the legendary John McAfee that is now turn over at his statement, he told before in the way back of 2017 that he is predicting the market price of the bitcoin for over $500,000 dollars market price at the end of the year of 2020 and he will gonna eat his d*ck if he made a mistake on his calculations and now he is stating that the bitcoin is now worthless and now he is promoting the use of the monero, ethereum and dai. What are your insights about this? are you willing to wait for his promise about the market prediction?

Quote
His promise now seems far from impossible as world is already under economic crisis and there's such less amount of time left till the time of prediction comes.
Maybe at the time when bitcoin was at $20k it could have been an imaginable possibility but that was also due to many economic factors like in India it was the time of demonetization and people were finding solutions to convert their black money into something useful without being caught by prying eyes so in India the Bitcoin was going at a premium Price as compared to the world.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin The Best Safe-haven In The Wake of Financial Crisis? on: April 10, 2020, 01:47:45 PM
I believe that BTCitcoin and Gold will be one of the assets that investors are most interested in and we can see how much we can respond in the recovery of the economy.
It is my optimistic thought after seeing to specialists spreading it on the most recognized bitcoin and blockchain blogs.
During difficult periods investors used to consider gold as a safe heaven for centuries but if you look at the price of gold right now, you really cannot call it as a safe heaven as the price of gold has risen many folds in the past decade, when it comes to bitcoin i have no idea whether people will consider it as a safe heaven, it all depends upon how major financial institutions see the bitcoin market.
Even bitcoin price have seen many cycles of uptrend as well as downtrend in the past year, so it can't be considered as a safe heaven, but the thing is that government holds the money supply and literally at any time they can print any number of currency notes which isn't good for those who believe Fiat system is safe.
Even we have seen in case of gold the price doesn't depend on its rarity, rather it depends on the supply and demand of gold just like Bitcoin.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Satoshi theory? Deceased or alive & well on: April 09, 2020, 03:17:13 PM
What is your Satoshi theory?

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Satoshi Nakamoto.

If he's not with us today, I'm sure he'd be appalled with the amount of money being printed by governments/central banks.

One of his legendary quotes are:

"If you don’t believe it or don’t get it, I don’t have the time to try to convince you, sorry."

Is he deceased? Did he pass away from Cancer or some other grave illness?
Satoshi can be alive or dead, no one knows the reason to this question but what matters the most is the value that he gave us in life. He created a thing that separates us from the rest of the world as they are currently bound under the system and bitcoin is the freedom which they are looking for.

I believe that he is enjoying his life and watching the world grow his brain child and hoping for a better future.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: With Effect On global economy, will Covid 19 affect expected Bitcoin Halving? on: April 06, 2020, 07:04:21 PM
With the advent of the Corona Virus otherwise known as Covid 19 global Pandemic, will it impact negatively on the eagerly expected Bitcoin Halving come May 2020? For me I have watched closely,  the movement of bitcoin from the bearish to bullish, back  and forth. Could it be worse with this pandemic? The covid 19 pandemic has undoubtedly affected global economy and I believe crypto will not be an exception. What's your take?
I believe that crypto prices shouldn't be influenced very much by the spread of covid-19 after the recent fall that we have seen. As crypto is based on the miners selling their coins against the buy wall of the buyers, so now the number of new Bitcoins mined will be reduced to half and now for the same amount of electricity consumed the miners will get half the reward so this should affect the bitcoin price positively.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $ 3884 again? on: April 06, 2020, 06:41:54 PM
the price will not fall below $4000, just look that it has stabilized above $6000 and it does not seem to me to fall below $6000 at that moment, maybe it is because people have become accustomed to what is happening in the world and then doing analysis for what will be after this great disaster that the world is living. I think we can say that it won't be this time that some people who always want to see the price drop below $3000  will get their predictions right

I would not be that sure that the price has stabilized and it will not drop to $4000 again. The sudden price drop in the middle of March could easily be repeated. Imagine if the lock-down period will be prolonged and how world economy would suffer from that. Im sure it will pull the price down again. What is the lock-down period in most of the countries? From middle April to May ? Expect price drop or stagnation starting from that period.
I am from India and even though the number of covid-19 positive cases are not in extreme range but what it feels like here that the lockdown period is definitely going to extend till the start of the month of June and till then economy will remain on halt, but also we should consider the fact that the bitcoin block reward halving is also going to happen and that can contribute to the rise in the price of bitcoins, so I also don't believe that a bearish cycle can start now.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Correlation with Stocks is Dropping on: April 06, 2020, 06:23:15 PM

During steep market crashes, asset classes tend to converge. At the onset of the current stock market fall, both Bitcoin and gold had sharp correlation peaks with the stock market.

Now, however, Bitcoin is once again becoming a non-correlated asset.
Well maybe the Bitcoin price is rising because people have started watching Bitcoin as a true store of value and not just a bubble. Most of the economies will now come in recession due to the Corona endemic and thus people need more money for living their daily life so now they will start selling their assets and this will continue to the greater fall of the stock market in the upcoming future.
31  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese Strategy? on: April 05, 2020, 07:16:56 PM
I think the reason that their economy did not crash is because there are cities that weren't affected and most of the stocks that was sold in the global market was bought amidst, that's like the basic move, make a positive out of negative.
there are cities that is not affected because they already prepared for the virus so they did not let it spread the whole country.

because it is very obvious that there is something happen beyond our knowledge why this virus is all over the world while china is already out of the scene now and recovered already.
China is a severely censored country where even media isn't free from the influence of the state, so we don't even know whether they aren't having any new cases recently or even their actual number of cases of people affected by Corona virus.
But economy have taken a big dip for every country in the world no matter the number of cases in that country and no matter the size of the economy small or big.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Betting Double After Losing is Really a Good Decision? on: April 05, 2020, 06:50:48 PM
It depends on what betting strategy you are using. But if you are trying to conserve as much money, then no.

I don't know what to properly call it but I only increase bets after wins. After consecutive losses I then reduce bets.
Many people follow betting systems while betting thinking that they will win the money, but the thing is that even they win in short term from the gambling website but in the long run they always loose due to the house edge.
Many a times I have been using Fibonacci system in an automated script on many gambling websites in the start they make you money, but after a time the websites start a loosing streak that goes for many turns in a row which make you loose all your bankroll and that's the fault in doubling down strategy.
33  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping as a gambler? on: April 05, 2020, 05:21:00 PM

I also suffer from that kind of situation but I was to brave to tell my family about it, of course, you must accept their anger because you deserve it, but it causes me sleeplessness nights because we need money very bad back then, but it made me realize that gambling is something you must have control and don't pour everything even though it is tempting to do so.

Lucky for you, you already told your family about that. Until now everytime I remembered how much I'd loss in my gambling addiction 2yrs ago it keeps me awake till morning, it is still a nightmare for me, since then I learned my lesson not to put all my assets in a game, because I lost everything on that game.
There were times when I also lost sleep due to loosing in gambling as I was one of the uncontrolled gamblers and I didn't knew when to stop gambling even while loosing huge amount of games in a row and I was one of those who thought that they would cut back their losses after loosing the games.
But now I have had help from many psychologists and therapists and now I am able to control my emotions and have limited the amount of money I gamble, now I just gamble for the sake of fun.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is why I sold my 0.67 BTC!! on: April 04, 2020, 09:08:01 PM
You did a good job comrade, for you standing up tall for yourself in this trying times looks great for me. I applaud your courage for taken such bold step, and buying back in the future seem nice for me and when you stand up again in the future. I would have taken such actions like you but in my own country, we'll are still being lockdown here with an extension from the government on covid-19. You definitely took your action on a justifiable platform which I know as an acceptable way to survive in this pandemic.
I am from India and here the lock down was imposed on the initial days of the spread of the Corona virus disease and here although people are also in discomfort but they are thanking the government for taking such drastic measures pretty quickly to control the spread of the disease. Whereas it's a shake on the Trump administration that they aren't taking any bold move to control the spread of the disease.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ways to recover from being addicted in gambling. on: April 04, 2020, 08:53:16 PM
The simple thing is if you want to quit gambling addiction, I think it's enough to just focus on the intention or desire to stop gambling, because if someone has become an addict, at least any advice given is difficult to make them change their mindset. So, something that they can recover from gambling addiction is themselves but indeed, at least other people around will also slowly influence it for a change.
According to me if a person wants to get away from gambling then he should get indulged in different activities that don't remind him of gambling. As he won't be remembering gambling then he won't be getting an urge to gamble and also that if he is suffering from an addiction then he can't just stop in a single day, it's a gradual process that takes time and many people aren't patient enough to do so.
