21  Economy / Service Discussion / Best exchange for withdrawing USD to US Bank? on: January 11, 2014, 12:12:43 PM
So I see a thread criticizing just about every major USD exchange there is. Is there really an answer to this question? I'm probably being dumb since different people will have different experiences with different exchanges, but...

If you were looking to sell BTC for the first time and needed a good balance between exchange price and exchange speed, what exchange would you use to get USD to a US Bank?
22  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 11, 2014, 11:24:16 AM
not a single business in the financial services industry should ever, ever take 3+ months to complete a wire transfer.
this should be seen as unacceptable, and a display of incompetence on behalf of mtgox. either hire more people (you can afford it, making 0.6% commission on every trade), or leave the market.
the market you're trying to serve would ultimately be better off without your amateurish operation as a member.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Almost human Season1 Episode7 1 bitcoin = 427,000 dollars on: January 11, 2014, 09:05:20 AM
Editors of the show demonstrating their lack of knowledge.

They seem to think a "Bitcoin" is a credit card, or card linked to an account, or just an account itself... accessible via thumb drive apparently.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DPR's Bitcoin Stash future sell off by the gov't panic ensues .. on: January 11, 2014, 09:00:51 AM

25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't waste your time like I did. on: January 11, 2014, 08:59:57 AM
Why did I waste my time clicking on a thread that advised against wasting my time? #@!$ing damn.

$325 is expensive for a 7950. Got mine for about $250 from newegg.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: The FBI will NOT be able to sell the coins on: January 11, 2014, 08:42:59 AM
Still amazes me that DPR didn't secure the wallet better. He could have a fortune waiting for him when/if he gets out of prison. Now he has nothing, unless the FBI didn't find all of it. And rumor has it he's going to cooperate with the FBI for a reduced sentence? So how's he going to protect himself once all is said and done?
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Its going down in a few hours on: January 11, 2014, 05:00:42 AM
I love it when people assume a pricedrop is coming and the opposite happens.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Overstock News, Branson News, Singapore News on: January 09, 2014, 11:50:44 PM
America wakes up, sees high priced coins, sells off.
China wakes up, sees low priced coins, buys up.

The cycle continues.

sounds like a really lame wannabe BTC
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: January 08, 2014, 08:10:29 AM
I almost don't want to go to sleep in fear that it'll drop below $500 by the time I wake up, fuck. Was tempted to sell as Bitstamp scraped $1k($997.9 high I think?). But I didn't, and I haven't sold on this downtrend so far. Hodling for now, but fuck man it's scary
33  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt. Gox account approval process? on: January 08, 2014, 03:56:10 AM
bitstamp is the way to go
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought all my bitcoin over $1,000 on: January 07, 2014, 06:49:54 PM
Bitcoin should be considered a longterm holding. Do yourself a favor, secure your bitcoins with an offline cold-storage wallet, and forget all about it for at least 6 months, then come back.
35  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: January 07, 2014, 06:04:30 PM
Been waiting on roughly $8k in transfers from Gox to a US bank. Withdraw was "confirmed" on Gox's site on December 9th. Nearly a full month later, I'm guessing I should expect at least another 2 month delay?
36  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Be on the lookout for this scam.. Just got it in my email on: January 06, 2014, 11:56:19 PM
I received the same e-mail. I'm trying to figure out why/how I got myself onto a list that identifies me as a BTC user.

I got it too, looks like they pulled the emails from the mtgox leak that happened a while back.
I do not have a MtGox account.

38  Economy / Speculation / Re: China is still buying the most on: January 06, 2014, 09:28:55 AM
If this data is accurate, then it's a panic buy. BTC acquisition is still easy in China as of right now; that might change soon. People's Bank of China says it's okay to own BTC, just not to sell them through conventional financial institutions. Underground trading will likely still take place in moderate volume, and BTC will likely fetch a premium during those same trades.
39  Economy / Goods / Re: New Year Promotion, PlayStation 4 and Xboxe One for BTC. on: January 06, 2014, 09:18:12 AM
This is a hardcore scam. Avoid. Bugger is persistent too.

Satoshi is likely multiple people, not a single person.
