23  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] VisitBit Advertising w/ Geotargeting - From 0.000001 BTC per UNIQUE visit on: October 20, 2014, 11:41:14 PM
UPDATE 21/10/2014:
As of now, users will earn more from new campaigns. Previously, user payouts accounted for ~30% of the advertiser cost - this has now been increased to a massive 70%.

Be aware however that these changes will only affect new campaigns. I.e. campaigns created after about 5 mins ago.
24  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] VisitBit Advertising w/ Geotargeting - From 0.000001 BTC per UNIQUE visit on: October 20, 2014, 12:09:36 PM
Just a heads up! Got a handle on the frame breakers, they've been off the site for about 2 weeks now. Running smooth once again.
25  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] VisitBit Advertising w/ Geotargeting - From 0.000001 BTC per UNIQUE visit on: August 12, 2014, 01:25:47 AM
And quite often, the ones that remain are framebreakers.
OP, are you even doing anything to prevent framebreakers in your ads?

The only thing I think I can do really, is deactivate them once I discover them, or until someone reports them to me. Otherwise I'd have to manually approve the ads and I think that takes away from the advertiser experience slightly.
26  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] VisitBit Advertising w/ Geotargeting - From 0.000001 BTC per UNIQUE visit on: August 12, 2014, 01:23:42 AM
Only reason I could think of is that the site's Microwallet account balance is empty, AGAIN.

Erm, basically yeah. I must have done the math wrong! At any rate, I've just sent a tx to top it up and changed some things. Hopefully this should be the last of it.
27  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] VisitBit Advertising w/ Geotargeting - From 0.000001 BTC per UNIQUE visit on: July 24, 2014, 01:21:38 PM
Hmmmm.... As an advertiser I love the one time unique visits.

Maybe offer the option when making the ad to have a 24 hour unique visit, or have a forever unique visit?

Some people might just want nonstop traffic...

Yeah I've thought about doing that - just not really had the time to implement that as of yet. But it's definitely a planned future update!

BTC Had a rollback in 2010 and look at it now, please people do not listen to the FUD Bobsurplus is spewing all over the forum. If you have concerns please post on Veritalk.info and get real anwsers if you would like to continue watching the FUD entertainment then please stay, I think I heard somewhere that FUD is sometimes good for a coin.. any thoughts ?
This is such bullshit...  You cannot compare the hard-fork that bitcoin devs and miners initiated to fix a PROTOCOL FLAW back in 2010 with VeriCoin dev's decision to bail out an exchange.

God...  some people are just so ignorant it's sad.   It's not FUD if it's true - it's a warning.

The community that fought for their coin and fought against the theft of $2 million dollars worth of investors money.

Hmmmm.....
You mean the community that was stupid enough to have 30% of a coin on one exchange?
Rather than MintPal pay everyone back, they leaned on the devs to rollback the chain.  It is disgraceful that the devs even considered it - period.

They didn't do it to bail out an exchange. That was a symptom of the rollback, designed to save the coin from certain death. 7.5mill staking at time of attack vs 8 million stolen. Coin is dead if they don't roll back. There is an argument to "let it die then" on philosophical grounds, but they made the only decision possible for a coin with a $6million economy at the time.

So if you and your friends want to "spread the truth about vericoin" or whatever reason you choose to believe to validate you posting here every 2 minutes - spread the one I've just explained to you.

blah blah blah, I have pm'd you more than once. I asked for a response for you to clarify why you slandered me in the public forum. Remember that? you went silent after accusing me of making up account to post some crazy story.

Also I have asked for public help on the faucet several times, as an avid forum reader you must have read those, but just chose to look over them. I really hate responding to Leckey, but I didn't want him making it sound like he was a good guy all of a sudden, he has been nothing of help to me in my several attempts. And from what I have heard from others, the arrogant attitude of his doesn't help.

I will not need your help Leckey. I think you are the only person right off the bat I would not trust in this whole community. But I do appreciate your sincere offer.

I'll say this just once: Quit throwing your toys out of the pram any time someone validly disagrees with you.

There's nothing arrogant about being factual in a tidal wave of misinformation from vrc agitators and supporters.

Oh, and quit with this whole fucking slander thing - there was no slander. I thought you had another account, you didn't - big deal?

I really don't know why I waste my time....

Now lets keep this infantile feud off this thread. I'll ignore you, you can ignore me. Everyone wins.

Is anyone around the Bitcoin Center in NYC, that has some time to promote VeriCoin before the party?

Can we organize a giveaway of VeriCoin around the city leading up to the event?

Perhaps use social media to tell people where to go, or hints about where the free VeriCoin are? We could place some paper wallets with like 100 VRC in them each + instructions on how to download a wallet, ect.

I would contribute to the giveaway if anyone would be willing to do this. The rest of the community can help with small donations, and by using twitter, ect to promote the giveaway. Maybe we get our story picked up, maybe not. Regardless we can educate people about VeriCoin in the Financial hub of the world.

This is a opportunity that we need to use to create brand awareness. A giveaway leading up to a VeriCoin party at Bitcoin Center seems like a logical way for a community that cares to show we are 1 step ahead of the game. That we care just a little more than the next coin, that we will work just a little bit harder than the rest.

I thought you were "done" with VRC since the price fell  Roll Eyes Grin

Look again, I said I was done with this forum, and I am. Sorry I had a great idea that I thought was worth sharing. The reason I am done, and for GOOD now, is responses like what you are doing right now. People have a way of sidestepping progression on this forum and attacking others. It's a great idea I said I would help fund, and the only response is that of a troll. After this response you just affirmed why I should not have even posted something positive like that. Anyone with good ideas is shot down for some reason instead of trying to build it up. A community will never grow with a foundation of assholes like has been posting for the past few days - weeks.

I will hold VeriCoin no matter what until a team comes that can do "mainstream" better. As of right now this is the only game in town so I support it. Though I will not speak again, you are right. I will preserve sanity over messing with the kiddies who want to turn this into a forum full of people who wish to bring others down.

People like you Leckey, make me want to sell out everything I own and move on. You know I am looking for support making a VRC faucet, You HAVE a VRC faucet. I LINK MY WEBSITE TO YOUR FAUCET Yet you will not help me make another one for the community because it would be competition for you. Not only will you not help me, you chose to attack me.

So its better I just not look at this forum, and all the wonderful people who post here.

Ahh I see thank you for the information I will now be removing lekeys faucet from vericoinish.com and work on creating my own this weekend. Then I will give you a copy of the scrypt B4C.

Feel free to remove it. However you should know, that not once has he asked for any help from me - help which I would gladly give (as specified in a previous post in thread). What he's saying with regards to me not wanting to help because of competition is 100% false. But sure, jerk knees some more.

Edit: And I don't think of it as *my* faucet. Sure, I created it - but there are many people who contribute to the balance besides myself.

Awesome then help the guy out he is a beginner developer from what I understand and could use some assistance in creating a new faucet. I mean once I get a scrypt together I will be more then happy to share it with you since it will be a bit more then a faucet. He is asking for help I apologize if I came off stand-off ish or misinterpreted the post. Lets get people to open more wallets that is my goal.

Perhaps instead of attacking me for not being telepathic, he should send me a message and ask for help. I posted earlier that if he has a server set up with vericoind, to message me. I've heard nothing.

Tactfulness needed.

or, as in the case of Lackey, true. Simply.

"Lackey" sounds like a stand up guy.

The words and hype created was bigger than any feature we released

Well I blame wiz for that one - namedropping celebrities and mouthing about a big extravagant launch party in miami etc etc. So far, everything the devs have said they'd do, they've done. And if the only thing they're not doing right is PR/marketing - then there's no cause for all this panic.

I don't recall a single pm or email or irc message or any communication from you asking for help with a faucet. That's why I haven't helped you. Because you haven't asked.

My telepathy skills are a bit rusty, sorry.

If you are actually serious about running a faucet, message me when you've got vericoind set up on a server.

And that's why it is "moderated" (censored, in fact). They don't like your opinion, they ban you. End of story.

And that's the ONLY reason why VRC is not listed in THE WALL OF HONOR.

Censored is not the right word to use in this context. People are free to join the channel and say whatever it is they want to get off their chest. I myself was rather vocal in pointing out some of the disadvantages of the blockchain roll back. I didn't get kicked, or banned. People need to learn how to channel a debate, or discussion in an appropriate way. It's those who step over the proverbial line that may find themselves with a kick or ban. Nothing to do with the arguments they present, more to do with how they present them.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Freedom is freedom. Anything else, is just censorship under any other name you choose to assign to it.
If someone "style" is not of your liking, you are always more than free to not engage. There's no such a thing as jungle with air conditioning, sorry.

I don't disagree with you at all on that one actually. But freedom as we know it, doesn't exist without censorship in one form or another. If someone joined the IRC channel to spout xenophobic, homophobic or racist remarks - I would assume they'd rightly be banned. Of course, freedom of speech suggests they shouldn't. As much as it pains me to admit (and it really does), I believe certain levels of censorship are necessary in a moderately civilised society.

I'm so shit at being libertarian sometimes.

Again, we are going to disagree on that one too. Those offended should hit the "ignore" button and ceased to be offended instantly... without hindering the freedom of communication, in whatever terms they choose, of the rest. On IRC or anywhere else (there are legal limitations in the real world and even on the internet depending on the country you live in and the resources you are willing to spend in getting the matter shorted out, but that's the limit and should be the ONLY LIMIT). Those who cannot stand the heat should simply get away from the kitchen.

If someone wants to make xenophobic, homophobic or racist remarks... or any other type of remarks, they have the right to do so. The rest have the ability to actually come back to him/her in whatever terms they consider appropriate or, the wiser ones, to ignore them altogether. That's how freedom works, not in ANY other way.

In my head all of that makes total sense, and is something I subscribe to. In practice however, I could see society turning into Lord of the Flies in no time.... only with less conches.

I said "I have nothing against cannabis". But I'm not the only one who thought it was cannabis. Not everyone lives in socal. There's a whole world out there of investors who will think the same thing that I did and others, but they might not be as liberal in their beliefs as me.

I don't happen to live in SoCal either (I'm guessing this means Southern California?), however if your first assumption to someone smoking something is that it's an illegal drug then you should lay off the mary-j - it's making you paranoid  Roll Eyes

If he actually lives in SoCal... everyone and their grandma uses e-cigs there.

Nothing wrong with using e-cigs. Implying however, that he was engaging in recreational drug use during a VeriCoin hangout based purely off the fact he was puffing on an ecig - is absent minded.

It wasn't an e-cig, it was a vaporizer and he laughed when he snuk in a puff.

But socal private messaged me and told me it was nicotine. So I guess he really needs his hit during the hangout, like an addict, he just really needs it as soon as possible.

Even smokers of cigarettes give it a break when they're doing a public discussion on financial matters.

Perception is reality, which is why I'm not the only one who thought it was cannabis.

Let's be frank; he didn't chain-smoke 20 mayfair superkings at a board meeting. It was a google hangout discussing the milestones of a cryptocurrency project. Perhaps you also assumed moolah was smoking heroin during his video...

Talk about blowing things out of proportion  Roll Eyes
