21  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: February 09, 2020, 03:42:52 AM
We past 10k on coinbase.

The diff is still  about +1% a  nice number.

We have about 300 blocks to go monday night or tues morning .

If we are at 10.5k  and 0% diff for next jump it will be nice.

23  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 "Locate" code on: January 30, 2020, 12:56:15 PM
Trying to find the code/file that would allow me to flash the S9's green and/or red lights.. This would help me locate machines in my farm.

Know multiple third party firmware's have this feature as does the S17's.

Anyone out there know how to do this? Just need the file!

Okay set the miners to static    lets say  192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.110   that is 100 miners.

do a scan  it will show 100 miners.  unplug a miner

do a scan it will show 99 miners.  the one missing is say  192.168.1.40   write on the back and front with a sharpie  40

do the next miner  so on and so forth

eventually all 100 miners will be numbered

then rearrange on your shelf space

every miner  in a row.

192.168.1.10--- 192.168.1.11---192.168.1.12---192.168.1.13

repeat until last row

192.168.1.107---192.168.1.108---192.168.1.109---192.168.1.110

scan with advanced ip   from 192.168.1.10-110   make sure view is set to dead  only dead miners show up   say 192.168.1.103   since you know where it is it is easy to check wires.

simple system that works  one time setup is slow but I prefer static addresses over moving ones.

we have  63 btc miners
we have  25 ltc miners

all static  all easy to find
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why only 6.2 percent of American citizens own Bitcoin? on: January 28, 2020, 01:01:54 PM
That's clear
Because bitcoin is banned in America and known for dark stuff

It is not banned in America

and 6.2 percent of 300 million is around 18.6 million owners of bitcoin.

A lot of Americans don't own Apple Stock
A lot of Americans don't own Microsoft Stock
25  Other / Meta / Re: Who wants to start a newbie project on the beginners' board with me? on: January 14, 2020, 06:52:27 PM
maybe you could add some sort of tag to the topics you start

This was really the reason I started this thread. Pretty obviously one of the mods has a problem with my projects, and sometimes this has resulted in my taking a holiday from the forum for a few days. I do tend to have fairly firm views, and my post about wallets is an example. The suggestion that a discussion about wallets would benefit beginners is really good, but I tend to diss everything other thn a core wallet, so it would need to be started by somebody else.

The idea would be for 5 or 6 members to form a club, and they would start and maintain threads, and these could be on boards other thn the beginners of course. If one of those could be a mod, then tht would be perfect. A member who doesn't have English as a first language would be useful as well. I own D-8.net, and at the the moment, that resolves to Talk Merit. I could use [D-8] as a simple tag, and list the supporters on the site to make it easy for members to check the legitimacy of starters claims to membership.

Good thanks for clarifying you only want  a core wallet.

Then  make a project  about core wallet's.

Linux vs windows vs mac os vs rasp pi.

I  would help  to teach on that.

for instance  some thing like  buying a used lenovo m700 tiny  drop in a 1tb ssd  and setup a core wallet.
26  Other / Meta / Re: Top 200 Active Members who have earned most Merits but have sent 0 sMerits on: January 14, 2020, 06:43:41 PM
I checked the first user on your list, and he has sent Merit recently.

I'd like to make full list now Cheesy

Sidehack has sent merit more then one time.

So you have  the 689 coupon left correct?

and what will you do with the 140 you did not send to Ovys since he offered no proof of payment?

31  Other / Meta / Re: Decreasing number of forum users on: December 27, 2019, 01:08:10 AM
Its true in general that forums are becoming a thing of the past. A lot of users are moving onto more point based systems such as Reddit.

Is there anywhere else like Reddit with a similar set up?

I find it almost completely hateful. It's a bastard to read through and most stuff gets lost in the mists of time even on the same day. It's one of shittest set ups I've ever come across. If you invented it today and stated you wanted a lash up like that to be one of the world's largest sites you'd be laughed at and have your tits ripped off.

I hate reddit format unreal if you want to look back as little as a few weeks.

This forum  at least allows for research of older threads.
32  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: For how long can we actually mine ? on: December 22, 2019, 12:08:12 AM
In 2029  a block is  going to be 1.625 btc toss in 1 btc for  tx fees  a block = 2.625 coins   right now a block is  12.5 + .5 = 13 coins.

either the diff tanks like mad or coins go to 32k  30 x 2.6 = 83,200        12.5 x 7 = 87,500

So in 2029  diff  will need to drop  by a factor of  4-5 to about 3.5  or price will need to rise by a factor of 4-5x to about 32k  to make mining work.

34  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to make a girl fall for you? on: December 16, 2019, 02:20:43 AM
I like a girl and i don't know how she fall inlove to me ?

Read the title "How to make a girl fall for you?"

 1)first step ------- you don't
2)second step ---  simply be yourself
3)third step ------ let her know she is interesting to you.
4)fourth step ----- ask her what she likes to do
5)fifth step ------- invite her  to do what she likes to do with you.
35  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan A1066 Review. on: December 12, 2019, 07:46:36 PM
So Phil what was wrong? How did you fix it?
36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: October 05, 2019, 12:11:42 AM
You  don't understand  pps+ pool payout.  Here goes :

PPS+  takes finding block risk away from the miner and puts it on the pool.

So if novapool had  insanely good luck  and found 5 blocks a day  you get paid based on your hash  not the blocks found = good for novapool

on the other hand if novapool has really bad terrible luck  and finds a block every 3 days  you get paid on your hash not the blocks found. = good for you the miner

The larger a pps+ is the more risk it assumes each day if the pool has 700ph  and is paying at 0.00001920  they need to pay around 13.44 btc a day   as 700000th x 0.00001920 = 13.44 btc

So this pool risks a loss of 13.44 btc daily if it does not hit  a block on any day.

38  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17 Pro-50 high temp in Turbo on: September 24, 2019, 06:45:51 PM
Yeah  he needs at least an 8 inch duct

I have some good 10 inch fans  and they do 550 cfm.

I  do not know of a six fan that will do 500 cfm.  So A six  duct will not work correctly.
39  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin up to $20,000 before 2020? on: September 20, 2019, 07:50:26 PM
why stop at 20K by years end?

why not 40k Grin
40  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: NovaBlock, The Most Profitable Mining Pool on: September 12, 2019, 10:58:19 AM
Has anyone used this pool? Rates are very good.

0.0000237   a th is more then viabtc  which pays 0.00002277.

So 1ph = 0.02370 a day  vs 0.02277 a day   that is an extra 10 dollar per ph over viabtc.
