Im really interested in mining and planning to buy some rigs soon, your review is helpful but could say would using these instead of other is more profitable? If not whats the best to buy?
He spent a lot of time and his own money contributing something very beneficial to the community by doing this review. Thus letting us all know it is a legit company that actually produces a real product that works.

He gave you the info, you just need to plug in your own variables like your local power cost. I don't think it would be too much for you to do your own homework and figure out whether this machine would be profitable you.

My concern is that btc.com says it’s a double spend.
I thought it was kinda strange too, but didn't know if you had tried to send it through with a higher "replace by fee". Which will sometimes cause that message. Or it could just be BTC.com's standard error message, because the fee was too low.

can you help with this one?

I tried to put this into the viabtc accelerator for you but it says transaction fees are too low. You have to put in at least 10 sat/byte to be accepted there. The BTC.COM accelerator choked on it and said it was a double spend transaction.
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 28, 2017, 08:17:22 PM
I am serious, since I have now heard few stories about December batch miners shipping.

They are not respecting the different shipping time batches..
I'm now wondering if the 2nd Nov 21-30 batch was typo on their part and should have been a Dec. 21-30 batch. I ordered from both the Dec. 1st and the Nov. 21st the second time it was offered. Seemed a little weird, but I just figured they had some nonpaying orders.
26  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Designs for a Mining Shipping Container on: November 27, 2017, 01:35:56 AM
Has anyone ever released designs for a mining shipping container? I am considering different locations for upsizing an existing operation, but colocating locally or globally in a data center is not ideal, neither I want take on a warehouse lease. I have a friend with a sizeable warehouse a portion of which I can use but I can't find pre-built containers at a reasonable price. I am thinking I can build one from scratch using a retired unit.
Bitfury makes a shipping container that houses their miners. They used to have 2 options listed. One was smaller around 3-5 Ph/s the other was 15-20 Ph/s as I recall.
Here is a link to their site.

27  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Kano deletes posts he doesn't like. on: November 26, 2017, 08:54:20 PM
....
Yeah, but there is a little bit of difference between a few hour ramp up and a 7 day ramp up.
As long as the ramp up and ramp down periods are the same, I don't see why the length of time would matter.
28  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cex.io as a wallet for mining? on: November 25, 2017, 06:07:57 PM
Hi all, I was thinking of using cex.io as an external
Wallet on nicehash.  Is the btc address that they issue persistent or does it expire after
A time.  Sorry for such a noob question.
😬
I don't mine to cex.io, but I use them for trading. All of my transfers in and out have used the same address. The problem you may run into is they use btc addresses that start with 3 instead of 1, so some pools may not support it.
29  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Powering an EBIT E9 on: November 22, 2017, 10:25:36 PM
Does anyone know if the EBIT E9 can be powered by 2 different PSUs?  I don't have any available 220v sockets and was thinking to power it with 2 PSU's plugged into two different 110 circuits.  Any thoughts/comments appreciated!
The original Ebit E9 is only about 1000W (882w +/- 10% - 15%). They claim a 1000w PSU is enough. A single 1250W power supply should be more than enough, if you can manage it. I run mine at 110v on a circuit by itself.

Info from their webpage

Brand    Ebit E9
Model    6.3 TH/s @ 882w
Hash Rate    6.3 TH/s (-2%~+10%)
Power Consumption    140W/T (-10%~+15%, AC/DC 93%efficiency)
Chip    DW1227 96pcs (14nm LPP process)
6pin Connectors    4
Fan    1 x fan
A PSU > 900w with 6pin x 6 needed.
PSU Recommend    1000w PSU (Interface type: 6pin x 6).

I love supporting new MFGs but without a review from a trusted member here I'm not inclined to give up the money. I would just wait until they can get some units out for reviews.

Especially with a more than 4 month presale.

I am not showing the last payment in my wallet.

When I check https://blockchain.info/address/35efSwzRYdYFfxy82CgNSTdukd1gStVYEN the last I see are from 11/16/2017.

I have verified that the correct wallet address was used to send the payment.

Block   Address   Status   BTC
495143   35efSwzRYdYFfxy82CgNSTdukd1gStVYEN       0.00584797

Did it recently confirm and the payment hasn't been released?
Read the last couple of pages. The payment will be confirmed in our next block.
32  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain Black Friday on Antminers? on: November 21, 2017, 09:21:02 PM
Do you think Bitmain will run any Blackfriday or Cyber-monday deals?
No. What's the incentive for them? Demand already exceeds supply. There's a 2 month back log in orders. Batches generally sell out in hours. I wouldn't be surprised if they raise the price.

Again...payments for a block go out AFTER (1) the block receives 101 confirmations, and (2) the NEXT block is found. That's because we confirm our own blocks.

Patience, Grasshopper... Kiss

Not true, the last two (or two out of the last three) went out on their own.
Yes, but it hasn't been sent if you look at the btc address the block was mined to. https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/address/18HaPa8WwqbVNeC4JpjAoxMbwSGbU5pS9C

I'm sure it will be. Kano has always sent payments. Probably just a hiccup in the system.

Kano, do you think it might be a good idea to change the 5nd reward method? The 5nd is effectively at 1 diff period now.

I was thinking it might be a hard pill to swallow for new miners, if they want to come here, that their reward would be lessened by the 5nd for 2 weeks. Especially the bigger ones, who gotta pay electric and hosting.

When I first joined, I had already been mining for a couple years and the 5nd was only at ~39 hours. But now we are at almost 2 weeks. It might be to intimidating to any new people wanting to try us out.
35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain Antminer Collection on: November 18, 2017, 11:18:05 PM
Bitmain doesnt propose wholesale price.. The prices are fixed. am I wrong ?
It will say at the bottom of the page under the section marked "Discount"

Lately there have been no discounts on bitmain miners. The last batch said "There are no discounts available for this batch."

When they do offer a discount, it is usually a very small % if you order more than 500 miners.

I wonder if he means the website at the top in the center column where it shows our last block then under it is the last network block. Maybe he is mistaking it to mean the current block the pool is working on.

Guys I have a question and if someone knows the answer please let me know.   I’ve had some btc in Coinbase for a long time now, before the btc gold spit.  They have told all of the users that they will give the same amount in btc gold as the amount of the btc that the user had before the split but at the same tim they are saying that they can not support it at the moment because of some code that wasn’t released to public or some other issue, I’m not sure because I don’t know much about it.  Well what I want to know is that if I sell the btc right now will I still get the btc gold when and if they support it in the near future?

Thanks!  Wink
There was no fork, it was cancelled.
It think you are thinking of Segwit2x fork that was cancelled. Bitcoin Gold is actively trading now on the exchanges. Bitfinex had it for $162.50/usd as I typed this

I would imagine they would, as that split happened on Oct 24th or 25th at block# 491407. Probably would be best to ask Coinbase though.

How do we go about courting cobramining to come back?  I wonder if chocolate and flowers would work?
I'd ramp up more miners if I could find a hosting site. But I'm maxed out in power and my electric isn't the cheapest in the world, though being in oil country you'd think our electric would be cheaper. But it seems like every hosting company is full.
Have 500+ t/h coming in December.  Will have room to expand.
I'm sure he'll be back. He left for short periods before. I can only imagine his electric costs.

It's not much but I've got another ~100 th/s on the way also, spread out over the next couple months.
40  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoinminers.eu website lists $999 Antminer s9's. How to tell if its legit???? on: November 15, 2017, 10:37:02 PM
Well they have it listed at 1,249 Euro, so their conversion rate is wrong. But even at that price, it's only about $50 over what Bitmain sold it to them for. Plus they had to pay shipping and VAT. I would say it's a scam.
