81  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit, S9, D3 on: October 08, 2017, 08:16:35 PM
First off is the Ebit a decent product? looks like on their site they will ship the E9 TODAY for $1400 so thats why I'm asking.

Second, now that the holiday in China is over will Bitmain allow us to but the S9 with BTC again??

Lastly, Is the D3 no longer for sale for good? or just for now?
There is a thread for the Ebit miners here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1737602.0

Hey guys.....so I've had 6 741's for about a month now, and have always been on kano, but for some reason starting last night, I noticed on my ckpool app, that I started losing connection to the pool, and of course get the usual email that a "share hasn't submitted in the last 5 min.  Happened about 5 times.  Course after about 10 min or so....it would restart back up without any intervention on my part.  But it just did it again 5 min ago...and waiting for it to pick up again...any ideas?
I had 5 or 6 miners failover to their backup pools yesterday at a couple different times. I'm sure it was just a problem with one of the nodes.

One fix for that is to set your second backup pool to another nearby node. For me it's nya. I guess that I missed doing that on a few though, since they failed over to another pool.

How much has the last month of bad luck and not finding a lot of blocks got to do with variability, or is it that the price of btc has been high for some time so a lot of new miners are joining and increasing the overall hashrate? I include myself in that group by the way!

Could it be that there is simply more hash in total, and therefore the blocks are spread a lot more thinly?
Yes, the increase in global hashrate increases the variance if the pool hashrate doesn't increase along with it. But at the same time, luck is luck. If you look at slush that has about 6 times the hash power we have, their 250 block luck is almost the same as ours.

so I will not get anything before 1 month or ??  I have kinda low Hashrate, 78.Th

With 78th you should get around $2500. Smiley

are you kidding ?  can u explain?  2500 ?? Cheesy when
Last month my average hashrate was ~158ths. I brought in a total of 1.242456BTC in rewards, which is about 5400 at the current price. So, I would agree with NomadGroup that 78ths, about half my hashrate, would earn about $2500 at around 100% PPS given difficulty increases.

lol got 0.00435827 BTC after 29 hour of mining  with 80 TH
It takes time to ramp up to the full payout of the 5nd. The payout method is explained here https://kano.is/index.php?k=payout

Current 5nd for the pool is 3 days and 2 hours.

Conversely, when you leave there is a ramp down period. So, you will continue to be rewarded for blocks found during that time even though you are not mining.

thanks for explanation.
It helps deter pool hoppers from trying to capitalize and suck away rewards from the long term miners during good luck runs. It also comes in handy when you lose power or internet connection, as your rewards ramp down, so you at least are still earning during that time.

87  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: October 07, 2017, 06:20:12 AM
I just got the EBit E9 +9T or whatever the 9 Ths one.  Trying to set it up but no matter what I do I can't find an IP address that will open the control page in my browser.  Also the red light starts blinking continuously after 2-3 min of operation.  I already overpaid for it on Ebay so If anyone can help me out i'd love you forever.  One last thing, I can't seem to find any reset buttons like the antminers have.  The frame does have 2 wholes next to the Ethernet port right where they would normally be but there are no buttons in the wholes when I use a pick to try and push them.  Hopefully someone out here can help me out at least partially.  Hope everyone is well!  Happy Mining!

install wireshark and look at the arp requests to find the correct ip address. Second option is to look at the DHCP leases of your router. Mine came DHCP enabled so I could connect this way.

Ok so I did that and I think I found the address but I'm still not getting to the miners page.  Also no matter how I turn it on, the red light never stays unblinking.  When I look at the connected dhcp figures I can  see that ip address but it sometimes goes blank just leaving the mac address on the page and then the ip will reappear.  I'm trying to contact the skype people from the ebang website.  This is kinda getting annoying.

So I've exhausted all of my ideas to try and get this miner going.  The ip it's coming up under is 192.168.4.105 but my router assigns all the devices in our network to 1 instead of 4 so that makes no sense to me.  If anyone has anything they could add that might help, i'll love you forever.
reset your router's starting ip to 192.168.4.1 then after you enable dhcp on the E9, you can change your router's ip back to 192.168.1.1

I had the same problem with mine when I first got it.

Edit: Of course make sure any other devices on your network, that you will need to access, are also dhcp. If not they will be not be accessible until you switch your router's ip back.

It's possible to estimate the reward with a hashrate  (after three days of full working of course).
Because the reward decrease after some days, probably because global hashrate grown up.
So i would like to know if it's possible to estimate the reward for a hashrate.

Try this btc calculator. http://tradebtc.net/bitcalc.php

Curious... How long before all of my hashing is counted?  I am hashing at roughly 32 TH/s.  The first block counted my average as about 1 TH/s.  Understandable, because I had only been on the pool for a couple hours.  The second block, after 12 hours, counted my average as 5TH/s.  It seems like it will take 3 days to have my hashing counted in full.  Just wondering how this works.  Thanks
If you look at the help/payouts on the site it will explain the 5nd payout and the current length of the 5nd is 2days 23hours

S9 13.5Th for sale on bitmain website. November batch. Interestingly only accepting Bitcoin Cash as payment for this batch.

Bet they are trying to prop up demand for BCC on the exchanges.

Come on block. Lets have 2 or maybe even 3 today!  Grin
They are definitely trying to drive it up. Too bad too, I was all set to order a few. Oh well.

Just noticed that bitcoinwisdom.com finally fixed it's problems and is updating again.

Unfortunately, it's also predicting a 21% rise in difficulty. Ouch! Cry

Would you guys recommend the Avalons over the S9's? I'm thinking of buying some of the 741's when they release the next batch. Or if I can get in on a bulk buy. I have 2 more S9's coming in and I'm making pretty good money off of them but I' m just worried about the longevity of the S9's. Whats the oldest S9 you guys have?
I own several Bitmain miners (S9, T9, an R4) and also the new Avalons. The T9 is great if you can find them, but just for overall reliability Avalon is the winner in my book.

Just got notification that my two new avalon miners should arrive Monday. But my hosting place just informed me that they are full. Does anyone know of any reliable hosting with available space, preferably here in the US. PM me so as to not tie up the thread.

https://www.advania.com/datacenter/

Not in the US. Iceland must have nice cooling ...
I've been in touch with them recently and they only do 30KW or above, which means at least ~20 or so S9's.
Have you tried Oregon mines? https://www.oregonmines.com
Yeah, they are maxed out also. That's where I have my miners hosted now. I'll probably have to swap out my old s7's, if I want to add any more. At least until their expansion is completed.

I got a reply from Canaan. It appears they are very busy with orders right now. It also appears they will not have any new miners to ship until August 23, 2017.
I had been waiting about 2 weeks after trying to place an order and wanted others to know about the situation in case they also had tried to order from
Canaan recently.
dzimmerm
I must have gotten my order in at just the right time. They shipped within a couple days after I ordered them. :-)

Still wanna order 4 or 5 more though, but will have to wait until I can track down new hosting.
