How stupid must one be to end up like this?

Darwin at work here... One less. (and one less Lambo too...)

Keep stackin' guys 'n' gals!

Greetings wall observer legends. As a token of gratitude, I would be making free. Avatars for the first 3 members that are interested. All you would have to do is indicate by quoting me then PM me with a description of what you want.

  • please member should at least be a hero member
  • Member should be an active poster in wall observer thread
  • member should be a wall observer poster since at least December 31st

Happy wall observation

In WO there is infinite chaos and disorder. As it should be.

However, there is one thing that is in perfect order: our avatars.

So, no, thanks!

Sunday haiku time?
I guess I'll have to try 'em.
Maybe they can rhyme.

Rhyming disorder?
The eye of the beholder!
Odder and odder.

Must not be fussy
Which leads to being bossy.
Real rhymes? Declasse!

So let's go Bitcoin.
Start the new rally going!
Have I made my point?

 Wink

Very nice, although 3 out of the 4 fail your own rhyming criteria... Cheesy

Even so, they are beautiful, funny, with nice flow, and that's what counts. It's not science, it's art!
24  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 05, 2024, 07:48:03 PM
This Sunday's haikus rhyme!
Enjoy!

ChartBuddy lost touch,
But soon came back with a punch,
Screaming Edvard Munch!

CZ got jail time.
Roger Ver charged with tax crime.
I say: "This is fine!"

Ramen from now on...
Michelin restos are gone!
Calm before the storm?

Roubini and Schiff,
They play tough and they act stiff.
Delayed disbelief!

Touch rhymes with punch? Time with fine? Gone with storm? Stiff with disbelief.

[...]

Come on Jimbo! I think you're being a little too nit-picky!

Read them again. To me they rhyme enough to be funny, witty, and create a nice flow when reading them, while still being relevant to the WO digest theme.

I know of beautiful poems by Leonard Cohen which would fail your rhyming criteria. It's not science, it's art...

Well, I guess it's a matter of opinion. Can't please everyone. Art has always been in the eye of the beholder.
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 05, 2024, 04:50:04 PM
Raising the bar... This Sunday's haikus rhyme!
Enjoy!

Saylor keeps buying,
Looking mean, laser-eyeing...
Weak hands are crying!

Hong Kong buys Bitcoin!
Does this mean China will join?
Or make a chin-coin?

ChartBuddy lost touch,
But soon came back with a punch,
Screaming Edvard Munch!

McDonals's is back,
Flipping burgers and such crap...
How long will it dump?

CZ got jail time.
Roger Ver charged with tax crime.
I say: "This is fine!"

Ramen from now on...
Michelin restos are gone!
Calm before the storm?

Roubini and Schiff,
They play tough and they act stiff.
Delayed disbelief!

what a sad way to think of pussy.

why not turn to cock if you think that way of pussy?  @nohomo

Yes. I think this is a bit more accurate:

27  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 04, 2024, 11:40:30 AM
we are in a recovery we touched 62k maybe will climb back up the hill and plateau at springboard up from 81k by the end of may.

ftfy

+1

If we cross $80k there’s not stopping before $100k.

I like your way of thinking...

...and a little fix:

[...]

If we cross $80k there’s not stopping before $100k.

What now remains, is a post by proudhon anti-confirming it.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 04, 2024, 04:37:07 AM
The debate was not interesting, almost nothing to report.
Two guys saying that bitcoin has NO value...not less value, but none.
Eric was very polite, but was repeatedly interrupted.
Eric is a "bitcoin" guy. Mooch is there just for the $$ and trading, but could not explain why he thinks that bitcoin is a store of value apart from the fact that more and more people have bitcoin wallets.
Sometimes, I think that P. Schiff does not even believe his own bs.
Roubini is just a establishment propagandist who cannot concede even when clearly shown to be wrong in an example by Eric.

...and we are positive for the last 7d. Nice!

Thanks for this. I will probably not watch it then. Can't stand Roubini and his nonsense. And if the Bitcoin team can't explain how Bitcoin is a store of value, then stupidity and closed-mindedness will dominate... What was probably needed was Michael Saylor to join in and set everyone straight.

Will be fun to interview Schiff and Roubini in late-2025. Cheesy

We're rich again.
OK, not yet, but soonTM.

Am I in a dream?
Everything's green on my screen.
Hopium vaccine!

Bitcoin’s gentle rise,
In my heart, gratitude blooms,
Serenity’s prize.

#haiku

Is that an hAIku or an Haiku?

I don't know, but it's beautiful. And well-punctuated/capitalized.

Well done to Leahized (or whatever neural net created it).

Bitcoin has this funny property that few understand:

Short-term chaos.
Long-term order.

Fact: when averaged over any 4-year period in Bitcoin's history, price has always been increasing. Any 4-year period! This actually describes the 200-Week Moving Average indicator. It's a beautiful thing. Look at it. Never dropped. Always rising. Mathematicians call it monotonically increasing. It's always been like this. Will it change any time soon? I don't think so.

So, sit back, relax, have a ramen, watch a flick. Next morning you'll be richer, guaranteed. No need to look at the charts.

It really cannot get any better than this.

Not much happening.
Temporary abstinence.
Makes for better sex!

When under the knife,
Be careful what you reveal,
To naughty nurses!

Two hundred of what?
Tarders use days, hours or less,
While HoDLers use weeks!

Counting starts at naught,
Whether you like it or not!
It's a 'puter thing.

Happy for ivomm.
Bitcoin made his dreams come true.
Beach house and yacht next!

Sieg Heil, UK law,
As one of their own foretold!
George Orwell's the name.

Keep HoDLing, brothers.
Laws and governments can try,
But they'll never win!

Epoch 1 was 50 BTC per block, epoch 2 was 25, epoch 3 was 12.5, etc.

How did epoch 4 skip down to 3.125? What happened to 6.25?

Silly humans Epoch 0 was 50BTC

Nonsense. It's like centuries.

Years 1 to 999 were the 1st century. Years 2000 to 2024 (so far) is the 21st century.

There was no zeroth century.

About Epoch 0 being the first one, it's a computer programming thing. Array indexing in C++ always starts at zero, so array[0] is a valid element, equivalent to all others. Of course, a programmer can take care of this, for aesthetic reasons, and shift things by 1 to make the counter more human-friendly, but the Bitcoin code is meant to be very lean and pure, as it should be, so everything is written in vanilla C++ code.

Damn, looks like we're poor again.

This grindingly slow oscillation around $6x000 is killing me.

Not that I care so much, since I know (and we all know) what will happen soonTM.

It's just the 6-digit anticipation that's keeping me (kind of) on alert.

Back to RL, back to wait mode.

...

One article for JJG and anyone else interested in 200 day moving averages:

https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2024/04/23/bitcoins-200-day-average-is-approaching-a-record-high-heres-why-it-matters/?_gl=1*1l849lo*_up*MQ..*_ga*NjA4ODI3ODUuMTcxMzkwMjgwNg..*_ga_VM3STRYVN8*MTcxMzkwMjgwNS4xLjAuMTcxMzkwMjgwNS4wLjAuMTAxNjQ0Nzk4Mg..

he is into 200week MA...js
200day is a classic, sure.

I didn't spot the error until I read the beginning of the article that said "Bitcoin's 200-day average is on track to challenge its previous peak of $49,452 from February 2022."

Currently, the 200-Week MA stands at the ultra-conservative value of $33,630 and creeping up VEEERY SLOWLY (currently around $40 per day), as it always has done. Note that it has always been moving upwards, and never downwards, which is a great long-term indicator of where Bitcoin price is going...

Halving came and went.
"Where's the pump?" I hear some ask.
"Sell now!" I reply.

Other fools believe,
That their stash was cut in half.
German ignorance!

Rabbits eat tulips.
Homer sprays urine perfume.
Coyotes get horny.

Muslims fighting Jews.
That's humans fighting humans,
While "gods" watch and laugh...

Raining in Dubai.
Sunshine in Antarctica.
"How dare you?" she cries!

Bitcoin dumped so hard...
Dude eating "Basic Fine Food"...
Arrie would be proud!

Phil survived the knife.
Will ChartBuddy survive too?
Rich soon, boys and girls!

Happy Halving 2024 to all WOers!

Been catching up with last two days' posts. Looks like there was a party in these here parts -- missed it due to RL keeping me busy...

Funny how all those live GIFs now show 1458 days left...

Now it's wait time... Don't you dare sell a sat until at least ATH.

We're all blessed. Thank you Satoshi!

What will be the most accurate halving time  Cool

Very difficult to predict at minute-level (let alone at second-level).

This is due to the nature of the code, and its interaction with millions of miners worldwide. This introduces stochastic elements (randomness) into the process, thus making it virtually impossible to accurately predict the time of the halvings.

Here's an article by CoinDesk explaining why it's so difficult to predict:

CoinDesk — Why Bitcoin Halving Calculators Are Out of Sync

Here are 6 halving timestamp estimates, from various places on the net (sources not important to mention):

Saturday, 20 April 2024, 03:26:00 UTC
Saturday, 20 April 2024, 05:11:11 UTC
Saturday, 20 April 2024, 06:26:00 GMT+3
Saturday, 20 April 2024, 05:12:00 GMT+3
Saturday, 20 April 2024, 05:03:00 CET
Saturday, 20 April 2024, 01:22:50 UTC

Based on the above, I guess we should be expecting it sometime...

[UK/Europe] In the early hours of Saturday, 20 April 2024.
[USA] In the late hours of Friday, 19 April 2024.
