21  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Visa crackdown on bitcoin debit card providers - Jan 2018 on: January 06, 2018, 07:33:19 AM
So what is VISA's reason for suspending pre-paid cards?
After all they are pre-paid so there is no credit risc.
22  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Many Bittrex accounts were hacked on: January 04, 2018, 04:46:04 AM
For once I am glad their DHS police state verification scam locked me out of being able to withdraw a month ago!

I have been avoiding enhanced verification in the hope that the fix their basic verification up, and just going without the ability to withdraw.
23  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex banned all Iranians. on: January 04, 2018, 12:09:43 AM
Bittrex recently hired people from the US Dept of Homeland Security to look after their verification strategy.

Everything on Bittrex has gone pear shaped since that.

No, I am not making this stuff up!

24  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex verification issues on: January 02, 2018, 03:22:28 AM
Verification worked very fast for me. It took lesss than two hours for getting verified. Funny is, that my friend has an unverified account with a limit of 1337 BTC withdrawls per day. How could this happen? Is it because he owns so much assets?!?
Those unlimited accounts have changed their status to NEW and you can't withdrawal.

There doesn't seem to be any way to fix mistakes in Basic Verification eg. get the details to correctly match your public record, the only option seems to be to get Enhanced Verification which I don't want or need.

Can someone tell me if they have manged to get Basic Verification fixed after having it fail on the first attempt?
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: December 31, 2017, 04:50:31 AM
This coin is selling at a very good price right now...
Perhaps, which would mean it's a very bad price to buy it at.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ripple (XRP) usurp Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2017, 07:19:31 PM
XRP is not Bitcoin, it doesn't have the same philosophy or structure.

XRP may pass Bitcoin in market cap but you can rest assured that the fiat to do that, will not be coming from people that support the crypto currency movement. It's quite possible the fiat will be coming from people that are against the crypto currency movement, eg. bankers.

27  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex forces all accounts to verify ID on: December 30, 2017, 08:20:05 AM
What's this new requirement of Poloniex and for what? The exchange doesn't even trade in fiat currencies and the number of cryptos listed there are the least. Not that they will give any benefit to users but they are now imposing such rules which make no sense. Asking for ID and making one use a webcam is just ridiculous. I have an account with my local exchanges and they verified me without any issues (nothing such absurd was asked of us). And a deadline on top of that?

I take it you are not up with the recent change in US tax laws.
Every crypto trade has to be reported for tax in the US, nothing to do with fiat.

In short, you are mad if you use a US crypto exchange, the police state wants to watch you.

Please help me. What is the problem here?

DNS points to local or disallowed IP
What happened?

You've requested a page on a website (www.bittrex.com) that is on the Cloudflare network. Unfortunately, it is resolving to local or disallowed IP address.
What can I do?

If you are a visitor of this website:
Check back in about 5 minutes and the site should be up and running and enjoying all the benefits of Cloudflare.

If you are the owner of this website:
you should login to Cloudflare and change the DNS A records for www.bittrex.com to resolve to a different IP address.

Just try later, Cloudflare DDoS prevention works by rapidly rotating IP Addresses. If you do a whois bittrex.com you will see Coludflare controls the DNS for the domain.
29  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex ignores thousands of clients! on: December 17, 2017, 04:01:03 AM
Holy crap just look at the backlog that we can see. Imagine how many people are stuck there with no hope of ever getting out. That's a damn shame. Glad I only used them when I needed to exchange funds and didn't leave anything on there.

What's even more amazing is it's just the tip of the iceberg, for each person that finds their way to this thread to tell us about it, think of the countless others that have the same or worse problems, don't read these forums, and possibly don't even understand English!
30  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex withdrawal delays on: December 15, 2017, 03:10:56 PM
Polo doesn't charge as much withdrawal fees as other exchanges, so they are probably down in the queue, so it could take ages for the first confirm. However even with small BTC withdrawals, it's taking hours to generate a TXid, this was never a problem in the past, so something has changed, perhaps peers are not contactable or something like that, or perhaps they don't show you the TXid until the first confirm.
31  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex ignores thousands of clients! on: December 13, 2017, 02:47:42 PM
Well, I think they should not at least allow deposits without verified account (for new accounts, that cannot withdraw anything without verified account). So if you have new account, you wouldn't be stuck in this really bad situation where you just wait and hope for the best.
I think Bittrex want people to keep depositing, then lock up their funds with this verification scam.

Other exchanges in the US under the same AML/KYC still allow limited unverified withdrawals, eg. Poloniex.
Bittrex are up to something, and it smells of no good.
32  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex : Name Mismatch on: December 13, 2017, 02:34:32 PM
they gone scam
Nope, they are not scamming people. The problem is for those who cant verify themselves. Bittrex have to protect themselves too from being used by money launderers and they have to comply with the local regulations. It's a legit business and its about money, so they have to be strict with the people they are dealing with.
Yet Poloniex will let unverified users withdraw up to $2,000 worth of crypto per day, and they are also in the US.

The Bittrex claim is BS, they are just trying to lock up funds.
33  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WEX.nz on: December 13, 2017, 10:29:21 AM
Not sure, given the SEC's recent ruling. They said that cryptocurrency payments should be treated like cash with regard to AML/KYC. I'm guessing that means that inter-account codes are problematic above a certain dollar amount. Doesn't apply to WEX anymore since they don't serve US residents, but it would apply to CEX.io. I had no idea CEX.io had codes like that.
SEC ruling is of no concern to WEX because they explicitly refuse to trade with people in the US as per their Terms of service.
34  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Customers Locked Out on: December 13, 2017, 07:12:30 AM
I am beginning to have another thought about this Bittrex because it seems is just beyond all this verification and the likes that they have been using as an excuse to deny people access to their funds.
Yep, that's the first thing I thought too, no other exchange suddenly introduces 0 BTC withdrawal limit for existing users that have made successful withdrawals many times in the past. All an action like that is going to achieve, is a support headache for Bittrex staff, and a lot of pissed off previously happy customers.
35  Economy / Exchanges / Re: (bitfinex) Cannot complete transfer. Margin balance insufficient. on: December 12, 2017, 10:16:01 AM
I tried to withdraw some IOTA from Bitfinex today, and it said I needed a minimum of $250 worth as a minimum withdrawal.
I wonder if it's related?

Bitfinex have clamped down on small traders lately.
36  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex personal info has been leaked? What to do if it has? on: December 12, 2017, 08:54:22 AM
Has someone in the US formally reported these leaked details to the cops to investigate?
37  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex ignores thousands of clients! on: December 12, 2017, 02:01:11 AM
There wouldn't be thousands of tickets if Bittrex hadn't changed the verification requirements without customer agreement.
38  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Withdrawal Problem due to Verification on: December 11, 2017, 10:04:29 PM
I tried Bitfinex the other day after being disgusted by the new Bittrex verification policy, but the Bitfinex interface was messy, and they wanted a minimum withdrawal of $250US even on little coins like IOTA which seemed strange to me.

I have just registered on Binance, as some people here suggested to do, unlike Bittrex, Binance have 3 levels of verification the default still allows up to 2BTC of withdrawals per day which is plenty for me.

If Bittrex want to loose business because of their unacceptable default 0 BTC withdrawal without verification policy, so be it.

39  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex on: December 11, 2017, 05:58:07 AM
Only problem I can see is regulation in their future, which is already something which is hurting them right now. You can see that back in the day Bittrex didn't have to go through any sort of AML/KYC regulations, now they're being forced to do it (and complying) due to the amount of money which they have running through their systems. I'm expecting more regulation to hit them soon due to them being #1 in the exchange marketplace.

Bittrex don't trade fiat so where is the AML/KYC required?
Bittrex are not number #1 in the marketplace, they are like #14

Looking for advice on what to do with my tokens on WEX.

I am wanting to get all my accounts withdrawn.

Curious to know what others are doing with those tokens?

You have two options, hold them or sell them.

Others have either been holding them or selling them.
