Why does Crypsty kick it's customers out of the site several times a day?

Any idea what the last good block before the fork was, and what it's id is?

Will the dev be issuing an update with new checkpoints to fix the fork?

One fork seems to have a diff of about 10 the other about 130

I think at those prices I'm waiting to see if Barntech turns on his AC and wakes up  with the avalon chips (Last thing I heard Australia was under a heat wave) .

I so thought we'd be swimming in chips this month by now.

This is what Barntech posted on the Drillbit forums back on the 6th. he doesn't seem to have surfaced since:

Quote
As for the Avalon hashrates, the chips do about 1.6 GH/s so the 16 chip board will come in around 25 GH/s. Still working on the pricing. I'll get that up soon. We'll probably just do one run of these because the chips aren't all that exciting to be honest.

Also, its looking like more bitfurys will be available soon so we might be looking at doing some more of those. This time probably the turbo design which can squeeze some more juice out of the chips.
444  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: DRILLBIT SYSTEM Miners - Thumbs (Temp NA), 8 Boards (0 left) on: January 13, 2014, 01:47:43 AM
You might sell them faster if you post on the drill bit forum and post your continent.
I doubt it, this thread is more active than the drillbit forum.

I see some drillbit boards on eBay atm. (search on bitfury to find them)

How do you find out if you have any orders open without having to click though every coin pair?

Hi.

This look very nice. I am new to this, so do I have to buy 10 p?
Is there any trusted shop I can order this in Europe, and then only 1?

Thanks and take care

TN

tornie, heres the confirmed official reseller in the UK. https://shop.logicethos.com/

and

Confirmed reseller in the US. https://minersource.net/

Both stores allow you to purchase 1

me thinks Matt needs to add a list of Authorized Resellers to the 1st post so people will find it easier to locate them and not get confused by whatever else is out there.
bitcointalk.org is not the Black Arrorw forums. This information can be found on their forums already http://ecointalk.net/forum/68-general-discussions/

Some basic shopping carts wont let you place orders unless it's in stock, ie they can't handle payment for back orders.

451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Announcing Galaxycoin - GLX, the new PoW/PoS coin, no premine! on: January 09, 2014, 09:20:43 PM
There is something weird going on with the network: share rates go up and down -- looks like some huge multipool comes to mine from time to time which results in difficulty spikes. Then they go away and difficulty goes way down. Rinse and repeat.

Someone needs to fix their software, as this is not doing any service to their users, nor to the coin.
It will be forking. The diff rate on the coin wouldn't be so low if there were any huge pools mining it.

The coin needs work, the diff rate change percentage needs to be lowered to make it less aggressive, some new checkpoints need adding, and something needs to be done about the errors:

ERROR: mempool transaction missing input
ERROR: mempool transaction missing input

453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Quick confirmations on: January 09, 2014, 07:44:48 AM
so, a few people have millions of coins, and now block reward is 7.8 coins... whit 50GH is about 650 coins a day... and when block reward is falling down to 1 ZET, nobody will mine anymore..
The block reward should have been 1 ZET per block from day one and never changing, that would have been far more interesting than what has been done. As it stands, ZET is the biggest insta-mine alt coin of all time.

It seems more likely to me that you saw batch1 closing and took advantage of the fact that minersource had not been notified/updated yet.
Which is of course complete BS as the closing announcement from BA wasn't posted until Jan 3rd.

Are GLX deposits working at all?
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MCXNow Shutting down (Temporary) on: January 08, 2014, 07:11:18 AM
Too heavily tainted for me to trust now. The site worked well had 2fa an interesting chat group. But if RS is in charge the site can just shut down with no warning .

If the code was made opensource and others made exchanges I might try one of them. Closed source bought from RS. Nope don't trust Him.
Are there any open source exchanges? I have never heard of one, they can all simply shut down, it's not like ther is a public block chain to prove you own what. One day there will be p2p exchange I am certain of that.
457  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: January 08, 2014, 03:22:33 AM
i placed an order on 1-1-2014 for an X1 on minersource.net and after payment confirmation it said "## Delivery Date This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Round 2 Batch 1"

I just went and had a look a few min ago at my order and now it say "## Delivery Date This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Batch 2 Round 1"

WTF? Have I just been shafted?

I did a screen cap of the original back on 1-1-2014.

What's the significance of  Round 2 Batch 1  vs  Batch 2 Round 1?

Okay, same thing happened to me. Saying I am a little disappointed is an understatement. I would have considered differently had I know my orders were being placed into batch 2 when I ordered.
On 1/3/2014 BA posted on their site a news article that said:

Quote
Batch 1 closed

Batch 1 has been closed.

All orders paid from 1st of January will be dispatched around 1st of May 2014.
https://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/index.php?dispatch=news.list

That was posted 2 days after the cutoff date so it's kind of not fair. If it were me I would warn people in advance of cutoff dates even if only a few days in advance, rather than being retrospective. However I ordered from miniersource.net not BA, and their site clearly said batch 1 at the time, so that was the offer.

I am finding that 52:2:950 is as far as I can push mine before it starts giving ASIC error messages.

 DRB 0: E8 37 max37.4  | 23.06G/21.28Gh/s | A:3938 R:48 HW:76 WU:297.2

Is that 37C temp ok? It was down at 32C on standard clocks. I don't really know where on the board that temp is being measured.

459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MCXNow Shutting down (Temporary) on: January 07, 2014, 11:34:45 PM
What can they be doing on that exchange anyway. trick each other with pump and dump on RS's own coins? no new suckers rubes users can sign in.

There are 2 coins active on the exchange, MNC, SC, plus  MCX fee shares. The total BTC volume of those 3 in the past 24 hours was

 Volume: 3607.0 MNC / 2.0 BTC
 Volume: 2815.0 SC / 0.0 BTC
 Volume: 143 MCX / 30.0 BTC

So it's a 32BTC trade site atm. the transaction revenue from that, a pittance. The site has been dead since November 2013, loosing money every day in server hosting fees.

The site is mainly a chat box where people swear a lot, talk about body parts and drugs. Nobody is really nice there, it's like a small pub where crims hang out.

The case with plenty of small holes proved at Butterfly Labs to be noisy and ineffective. People achieved great temperature and noise reduction after changing the original fan plates to standard ones made of thick wire:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=277000.msg3006186#msg3006186

Silent one (left) and noisy one (right):

If the X-1 is to be silent (like advertised), the case openings should be changed a bit.
I agree, I have always found the wire fan grills to work the best. Not as easy as just making lots of little holes in the case, but way more functional.

The noise comes from the increased air velocity and turbulence though the little holes as the airflow tries to keep up with the fans cfm. with all the extra resistance of the grill, which of course it doesn't succeed.
