GPU mining with 7950 ( SEARCH for more details) Or 7870XT, cheaper too. Just go for cheapest mhash/$ and overclock it as much as you can keeping it under 75*C

Blocks -Block size increased to 10mb -Signature operations per block maximum increased to 100k -32 Second block time
10mb blocks generated every 32 seconds, can't see how that could become a problem. I mean that only adds up to 28.8gb a day...

So when are you actually going to be putting something online? Doesn't look like anything is up yet...

Tom - to delete the message just hit 'edit this page', delete the text, save. Unthinkingbit shoudl get back to you soon, esp as he messaged you which is probably about your dvc address
Ah cool I was looking at the separate sub-section edit links. I guess the address thing might be to do with me changing the payment address at the time of block 92998 or so cause I managed to mess up the devcoin client by updating net framework, so quickly installed it on my sisters pc! I've checked it and is definitely the correct one: 15btmQxdDU2ZNDnMUfURmsATjy8iCtZmaF One thing I had wondered though: it seems to be possible to go onto another user's page and edit the coin payment address. obviously I didn't click save but is this not a huge oversight in security? I doubt everyone checks their own payout address regularly; using a vanity address generator it wouldn't be too hard to imitate the first few characters to make the thief's address look very similar!

Been mining Fastcoin on a P2Pool for an hour now and still no payout, how come?
No idea. Are your shares being accepted? I'd advise LTC cause it's the only one with long term price stability and likelyhood of actually increasing significantly in value.

I want Litecoins and PPCoins and Namecoins to diversify. I am willing to pay 8 BTC, make your offers on how much of each currency you will sell to me.
I have downloaded the wallets however you may need to help me, I am still a noob to alt coins.
Try www.btc-e.com

Everyone please check that your earnings are in the list at: https://raw.github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/master/account_24.csvThe devtome earnings will be up for a day, in case someone did not get earnings because their invoice is badly formatted. If that is the case, I will run devtome.py again for only that person. Also, every new recipient should check that they received 11 devcoins, which were sent for a final confirmation of the devcoin address. By Friday, June 14, the receiver files should be made. Round 24 payments will start at block 96,000, around July 1. What reasons would there be for not being on the list? I thought I'd formatted my page correctly. I've messaged unthinkingbit and still awaiting reply, also can't seem to edit the little bit of of the page which he's left that message in, I'm probably just being stupid! http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:tom

I normally use furmark for stress testing cause that puts a similar if not higher strain on the card than even scrypt mining.

Currently ASICs generate ~90% of all new blocks, old hardware like CPU/GPU - 10%.
Is this known for a fact? How can we check this statistic? The 90%:10% ratio, that is/ Well ASICMINER have 23% of the network in their own operations so that's a number to start from. http://www.asicminercharts.com/live/

I would love to see a quality point of sale system.
Proof of Stake not Point of Sale

Is it me or are the difficulty ratings and thus the profitability ratios off significantly for some coins? Looking at TRC, coinchoose.com was reporting 42k, but the blockchain was reporting difficulty in the teens...around 10-20k. Ideas on this? I am guessing that I'll just have to start calculating my own profitability ratios. This isn't the first time I saw this either.
TRC is notoriously finicky o these kind of sites, not sure what makes it so hard to API scrape and readjust more often for this one.

For some reason my username wasn't on the round 24 csv file. No shares or anything. Did I do something wrong? I've PMed unthinkingbit but no reply yet, don't want to get left out on this! http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:tomEDIT: And something I found quite concerning; it seeds to be possible to go onto another user's page and edit the coin payment address. obviously I didn't click save but is this not a huge oversight in security? I would like to nail a common miss-conception here about processors/memory/speed.
I have had 54 units on 3 hubs running on a p4 2.8Ghz (skt 775) with 2x512 MB memory (DDR2) on PCLINUXOS with a 20GB IDE drive.
All is sweet, CPU hangs around 2-3% usage, I have no idea why people are throwing money at "I" core systems with vasts amount of memory and HDD space.
If it a stand alone miner and you leave it as such, You can use dated hardware and save $$$
I know what you mean, my 'rig' has a single 4GB stick of DDR3, and a old i3 530 with one core disable and the other down-clocked to 1.3GHz and 1.05v! Doesn't even need a fan on it and stays around 50*C!

Anyone thought about what might be possible overclocking with something like liquid nitrogen?
LN2 is only really used for setting chip max speed records, not something used for more than an hour or two per run. Don't be silly.

No it could not be changed to outlaw ASICs, unless they change the proof of work from double sha256.
Also the fork you propose happening in the first post would result in massive amounts of hashpower (ASICs) vastly out powering GPUs. Meaning the blockchain that would be seen by the network as 'valid' would be the one the ASICs are creating.
Remember also that most designs have a programmable microcontroller embedded, so as long as the protocol includes a double sha256 hash they will still work with a little reprogramming (Avalon uses a FPGA and klondike a PIC for example)

so cool .I will try my acisminer usb miner with pi.
With a powered hub I hope....

My 7970 windforce at 100% fan rarely leaves the 88-90 degree range with 26-28 ambient. The room it's in has terrible ventilation tho so rarely drops below 25!
This is with fans blowing in cool air to the general intake zone of the card, and two fans on the back of the card which help with the vertical exhausting of this card. Open rig too! Without the extra fans it was hitting 95 which is far too high. 1085/1500 scrypt.

Can anyone say how many K16's could you run on a single rail of a ATX PSU? Is it correct you will need to manage max amps per rail as well? so you might have a very large wattage power supply but hit the amp ceiling first perhaps.
42. But no seriously it depends on the 12v rail of the PSU and nothing else. Do some basic maths and you should be able to work it out....

Tsk-tsk-tsk... I go out for a walk to blow dandelion seeds over select, chemical lawns, and come back to see this thread totally derailed into the gun-control battlefield. To try to gently navigate back towards the original topic, I shall point out here that leaf blowers are to urban landscaping what M28 Davy Crockett is to self-defense weaponry. A retarded, inappropriate, inefficient technology.
If you think that you should try this one for size: 'PULSEJET Powered SNOW BLOWER' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpbKGvjqsxM
