Dev say that he is working in other different coin, and this (XS-Coins) work well.
I suppose that this coin, it's like a test/experiment with no more development, future exchange... it's only a copy/paste coin with no future.

I would like to set up an aeon miner, is that still possiple on a regular laptop or do you need a specialized machine?
Regular laptop for Pool its ok, only check the temperatures, although AEON it's more friendly than other POW algo, now need a lot of ram (8gb) for use the simplewallet (the blockchain need a rebase). But you could mining in paper wallet, or (i don't know) in a third party wallet.

WTF? ? Again SCAM coin? 1. RCoin 2. RCoin Plus (a fixed version of RCoin) 3. [XRX] RCoinX - The final and fixed generation of RCoin Next RCoinX - ver 2, ver 3 etc.. FAKE!!!!Scam? Why ? this is not an ICO, presale, premine even. This is a fair ANN, like the 2 others. I understood a angry miner of the last coins, I am sad with my HashRate lost in the last project, but less and less, because is part of the game, and now I am learning to accept these losses as I accept the profits. Bitcointalk is not a supermarket, is a forum, of user, miners, holders, speculator... and devs of cryptocurrencies, anyone is free to make a 3, or 1000 iterations of his project. And we are free to mining or not.

@ilPancrazio. Sorry but for now, Aeon is not a good entry level cryptocoin. There will be many disappointments coming out from this project in the future, I reckon. The first one being the delays of the code rebase. So Aeon needs people who are experienced in the cryptospace and open source projects in general.
Aeon does not need the small speculators who will cry and demand something because what they expected to happen did not come to fruition. If you are a newbie, your best move is to leave now.
I think that Aeon need small speculators and newbie users... this is a real coin with a promise and unique Algo, AEON its not a testnet, or an "elite users coin". With rebase or not, Aeon have thousands of persons in it, holders/users/miners/traders/develops/newbies and speculators are needed, and of course, all of they expected to happen great advances and all will cry if at finish not come to fruition... I am a newbie but hold my mined aeons, and i am not leave now or in a near future, because with my limited knowledge I am convinced that Aeon and Cryptonite-lite could have a great future.

I can not help a lot, but have an old pc (Medion Akoya 2gb) with Xubuntu.
Despite i am a total noob in linux with yours instructions i am now build the source code (20%) I wish that i could finish all the instructions well.
I like your initiative, always think that CryptoNight-Lite is a very underrated Algo.
Edit: Ok, I mined some blocks, but I have some problems:
In the 3 step when "- openssl sha -sha256 filename", which filename?, because I need one, no?
And I need other address to send the amount, or I make it with simplewallet?
Thanks.

What is total and max coin supply? What is block reward and minting schedule?
Each block has a difficulty counted by the formula: 1 / hash. If the hash is less - the difficulty is more. Then, for each 64-second period there is determined the main block of this period. Cheatcoins are mined in each main block. For first 4 years the amount is 1024 cheatcoins per main block, for second 4 years - 512 cheatcoins per main block and so on 4*(365*24*(60*60/64))*1024 = 504.576.000 XDAG the first 4 years. And the half the next 4 years.

I don't like ASICs algo like x13 (Baikal)... I prefer GPU Algo like Scrypt, or Cryptonote, These Algo have in my opinion better distribution, and future. ASICs have clearly not found this one ... yet Yes the ASICs for Scrypt are not very common yet (and prefer mining reliable coins like ETH) in the beginning we have an opportunity to mine a new coin (I take a block with CPU, Ryzen) ... but the difficulty is become to increase (although is low too) Yesterday night was: getmininginfo 04:54:31 { "blocks" : 3259, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.01486081, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 291314, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false }
and now 13:14:21 { "blocks" : 3347, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 5.46908867, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 3170373, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false }

@ dominguero
Nobody is interessted in your # Great Russian King of Andorra Boris Mikhailovich Skossyreff# storys , best would be you make an own threat for that special strory in a mystery fantasy forum.
Or better, post it in your Frenchcoin threat .
Are you my arch enemy? Or an supreme moderator? I can understand you dont interested in the story of the state of Andorra, its free market, independence, and its connection with Catalonia/Croat. But for sure no one are interested in your opinion of my posts. You could PM if you are happy with that, but i will write all that i want. Cheers.

So, in your opinion .... what exactly does this bring to the table? What is different here, what's new and unseen??
Now nothing, but only have a day old mining... But with a good devs, and a fair distribution (airdrop, bounty) this coin could go to the top 300, 200 or maybe in top 100 on coinmarketcap. I never had more than 0,1 BTC, bitcoin cash, gold or SSJBlue but I like mining, hold and trade criptos, even in the start of them. When Monero, DeepOnion, Electroneum... started they havent any new or unseen feature.

Dead? .Some people are solomining with CPU since 3 weeks... the low hashrate confirm that no exist any pool.
The project are in the beginning, in 6 month we could make a better diagnostic.
|
|
|
FALSE POSITIVEThe wallet include a (no needed in Scrypt crypto) CPU miner, but i could confirm that the wallet don't use any CPU/GPU at all.
