201  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: invest in bitcoin or altcoin? on: January 29, 2023, 05:19:42 AM

Bitcoin is just one but altcoins are several other coins. It shows how strong bitcoin can be in terms of investment assurance. Your friend is right for you to invest in bitcoin as a starter. Maybe later on after you have navigated the industry you can then begin to make a different choice based on the knowledge of investment you have acquired. But for now you should stick to bitcoin alone.

You should not invest in either one.

I do not understand what you mean here. We should not invest in any, as in we should not buy any and hold?
202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: we always regret once the price go up on: January 27, 2023, 03:23:55 PM
  • fear of price going to zero
  • Needed the money and don't want to lose big
  • fail to research and watch how the market works
  • not too confident with the investment you join
  • Afraid to fail during the process
  • You just ride the hype and don't have knowledge

All your points are true for reasons why people sell off. And all of them have happened to me. But the last point does not match and can not make anyone sell his bitcoin in my thinking. Anyone riding the hype can only think of buying more and  not selling off. Hype makes people buy more and fear to miss out. This normally occurs when price begins to go up like it is doing since few days now with bitcoin.
203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need to get to the bottom of this myself on: January 27, 2023, 10:46:34 AM
Can a random human who knows too less about a crypto wallet detect if it's open source or closed source? If yes please share me a way, I am tired of people saying a wallet is open source and some other are arguing that it's closed source, I need to get things done myself.

Tech people will know this things more than random people. It is advisable to stick to what tech gurus have found out than argue with them ignorantly. Am not a tech person and so I do not like to bother my head about wallet stuff like that. I do not even have much bitcoin that will cause me to always change wallet to keep it safe. I stay with what works for me. For your convenience, why not stick to only wallets mentioned as open source to keep your mind at rest.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: shiba inu coin, now ranked 13th in cmc on: January 27, 2023, 06:58:16 AM
I don't see so much potential for this coin. First, it is just a meme coin. Second, it is nothing but an imitation. Third, it is thriving on hype. But I'm not saying you cannot earn from the opportunities this coin is giving. But you need to remember that it has already multiplied many times. It has already risen through the ranks. What will happen when the hype of this meme coin is over? Take note that top altcoins come and go. One day, this will also be forgotten. So make everything short-term when dealing with Shiba Inu.

It is all that negative things you said about it, yet it is still doing well in the market. You have to stop hating on it. Investors are making money of it or have you seen anyone complaining that they got wrecked from Shiba? When you compare it to other altcoins will you still say it has not performed well? Look at where it is today on the list at number 15 top coins in the market and you still think it is a joke, a worthless coin?
205  Other / Off-topic / Re: White Card entered in Football !!! on: January 26, 2023, 08:43:56 PM
but has this white card been used also by the big football leagues or other cup events, I don't know about this information but glad you shared it all
in this thread so i learned a lot, as far as i know only red and yellow cards during watching football

FIFA would have okayed it. And for it to be used in that game, it means games arranged by FIFA will embrace it. But the question here will be what is the benefit for it apart from fans and spectators standing up and giving ovation. What is the financial benefit to those who are issued the white card since it is for something good. If there is none then I do not think it means anything.
206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason why I will never help anyone to invest in crypto on: January 26, 2023, 08:28:16 PM
If you are in same position like me, no matter how much you like someone or want the best for them do not help them to invest in crypto, they are lazy asses who can't get anything done on their own

It may be more from trust and not because they are lazy as you have said for asking you to invest their money for them. It is not easy to trust people with your money and if anyone is doing it with you it is likely because they trust you that much.

and this type of game I don't play it because, in the end, you will become their enemy.  It's already happening and I just ignored them. Is anyone seeing the same thing in their city or country?

That behavior is common everywhere, people blaming others when it goes wrong especially when it is lost of money. But that should not stop you from investing for others and helping them make money. I can do that if someone asks me to invest for them.
207  Economy / Marketplace / Re: 500,000 BTC Pieces needed (It could be less if you do not have up to) - We help on: January 26, 2023, 06:19:04 PM

Why are the moderators still leaving this thread unlocked? It is clear the op is not a genuine trader, trying to buy 500,000 BTC. His attempt offering to buy half a million bitcoin like it is some biscuits on the counter makes the whole thing funny. He will have a hard time convincing anyone here to trade with him. So this thread remaining open or not deleted is not helpful in any way.
208  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: January 26, 2023, 02:09:18 PM

Money is universal and whatever thought towards it is also universal, it does not matter the society or country or people. That statement is a biblical instruction which has now been distorted to sound different. The bible does not caution against having money but against the LOVE for money. We can find that in the book of 1st Timothy 6:10. This is because anyone who loves money will be tempted to do unthinkable bad things just to make money.
209  Other / Meta / Re: [ASK] Does this forum really have its own wallet platform? on: January 26, 2023, 01:00:33 PM

Thank you for reporting this. You are an observant user, we hardly see newbies being this careful as to check closely whatever mails they receive. How did the scammer even get to find you out? Did he just sit on the members search to constantly refresh it to look for new registration so he can pm them? This is an evil act and good that his account is now banned by mod.
210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone living with older people? on: January 26, 2023, 10:40:53 AM
See I have this problem, I am living with older people since I lost my parents at a very young age and I get so attached with crypto and I am making money out of it but the problem is my grandfather and uncles do not understand what Bitcoin is all about, believe me, I've tried to explain but they just won't get it. What can I do? They kind of believe that I am wasting my time.

How do one educate the illiterate about digital currency?

Those people think you are wasting your time because they are not seeing any result from what you think you are doing. You think you are making money out of it but they do not think so. No one sees success and does not recognise it. You have to double your efforts in what you are doing to achieve obvious success and you will see them running to you. Failure does not have any friends. As for trying to please them, do not let that bother you. You do not have to please others when you do not want to.
211  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 25, 2023, 08:39:22 PM
I haven't thought of Bitcoin falling to zero because Bitcoin operates on nodes and it might be possible if there aren't any single nodes running on the Blockchain which we know wouldn't be possible.

You said this because you have not experienced heavy dumping before of any altcoin. If you have witnessed something like that before you will understand what op is trying to say. Many altcoins with nice prices in the past later dumped heavily and died off while some that are still trading today are with little or no value. You will say bitcoin is an exception and will not go to zero. But that was the same thing that was said about some of those other altcoins that disappeared from the market and went dead.
212  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-24] Starling Bank bans Bitcoin transactions on: January 25, 2023, 05:53:18 PM
Is it Starling Bank, according to your spelling or Sterling Bank?

If you would have been paying attention at least to the linked article you would have known that it's an article from UK talking about Starling Bank from UK (and the situation of crypto in UK), not Sterling Bank (Nigeria)...

I read the article but was only trying to double check on the spelling. Yes both banks are in different countries but we also know that banks do have international branches and offices. For example, there are many banks in Nigeria with offices overseas. Am not trying to drag your comment with this post, I have no problem now with it. Thank you.
213  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to Sustain a new year resolution on: January 25, 2023, 12:54:08 PM

Many people have debated that the best way to sustain a new year resolution is to make it a lifestyle thing. Make everything you have vowed to do a part of your daily activity. Let it be a part of your life, that way you can not forget what you have promised to do or not do. If you said you will not smoke, start doing things that will make you not to smoke. Keep yourself away from any environment that will trigger smoking fantasy again. Resolutions should not only be made by mouth, they should be put into practice.
214  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-24] Starling Bank bans Bitcoin transactions on: January 25, 2023, 11:22:30 AM

Is it Starling Bank, according to your spelling or Sterling Bank? The difference being letter a and e. I asked this because there is a Sterling Bank in my country. I do not know if it is related to the bank you mentioned here. For a long time in my country banks have been mandated by the central bank to prevent their customers from making transactions that are cryptocurrency related. There is a ban on bank to crypto transactions in my country. So when I read that there are countries allowing cryptocurrency transactions in banks I envy them.
215  Economy / Lending / Re: Waiting for mercy peoples... on: January 25, 2023, 09:32:03 AM
I miss the old days where brand new UID's automatically got slapped with Red Paint TM when they came begging for no collateral loans they'll never pay back.

Maybe the big boys who did the painting in the past are a bit relaxed now, pressed down by how life issues has changed them. But I hate to see new accounts ask for loan. It is going to end in scamming someone. Those accounts should still get tagged to save other unintelligent users from falling for their trap.
216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My business currency on: January 25, 2023, 09:21:48 AM
I don't mean to break your ambition in using bitcoin as a medium of exchange or a means of payment that you will use, because in the future I also want something like that. But you have to consider everything about what you are going to do. It depends on where you live, because now those who accept payments with bitcoin are not comprehensive, even in some countries they are still considered illegal and are still prohibited from existing. Also one has to consider whether you will actually make payments with bitcoins during a bear market like this, because it will eat up a lot of bitcoins that you will spend.

All this that you mentioned are going to reduce the excitement of OP because the points do not look to be in favour of bitcoin that he is promoting. But that is the truth you have said there. Countries after countries have continued to hate to support bitcoin and that maybe because they do not know how to control or tax it. People talk good of bitcoin when it is increasing in price but begin to make hate speeches about it during bear season. Will Op not eventually be like that when the wicked bear comes again and abandon using it as business currency?
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to invite 1 of my friends to invest in bitcoin on: January 24, 2023, 07:47:42 PM

Telling your neighbour about the risky and loss that can come from bitcoin was a smart move. At least he will know that you warned him before he invested in case those negatives of bitcoin happens to him. Directing him to this forum will also fasten his learning process of bitcoin because of the so many experts we have here.
218  Other / Off-topic / Re: The power of punctuation on: January 24, 2023, 02:15:42 PM

Women go always find way to make small matter weh man deh inside be like war. You see as the female in the class punctuated it and shifted attention and meaning to something else with the use of Colon. Na the male get the punctuation that still maintained the meaning of what the Prof wrote. The two comma in between explain am well.

You also manage campaigns. posting your application right after there is CFNP (Closed For New Participants) on this thread means you deliberately want to disregard instruction of another manager. Goodluck.
220  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Fuel Scarcity Discussion: NNPC sells petrol for N148; private depots, N215+ on: January 24, 2023, 01:47:28 PM
Today I was thinking that fuel subsidy would have been removed in Goodluck's time because at that time fuel price #97 per liter so if they removed it by then when fuel price was very low, now fuel price would have #150. Because the marketer would like to increase their prices to to meet up their demand but now that they are selling fu at the rate #300 per liter and fuel subsidy is totally removed then poor business people e no go buy fuel again. And fuel price go reach #700-900 per liter. And the scarcity of fuel go increase more than like this. The marketers are purposely making fuel to be scarce.

I like your calculation but make you know say no time weh them take comot the subsidy weh Nigerians no go complain. No be the complaint self make them no remove again but na because the leaders never get sense on how to do am. Nigerians go complain for everything but go keep quiet after small time. Look at how much weh kerosene deh now after them remove subsidy for him body. Almost N1,000 per litre. Gas for cooking deh around N800 per litre. People never still die because of am. We go adjust for those thieves weh we deh call our leaders. Make them do am for petrol make we hear word for them.
