201  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone use btcrobot.com? on: August 26, 2013, 07:48:42 AM
Mine started trading as well. Sold some BTC for nearly 110 USD. let's see how this goes.
202  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone use btcrobot.com? on: August 24, 2013, 04:05:15 PM
I asked them that very question and here is what they said:

Here are the differences in the different modes. Obviously, Aggressive will trade a little more often than Medium-Risk or Convservative:
Conservative: risk/reward = 0.1, profit potential = 2-5%/month
Medium: risk/reward = 0.25, profit potential = 5-10% /month
Aggressive: risk/reward = 0.4, profit potential = 7-100%/month

Funny thing..I have been running my bot that runs on my own computer for days and it hasn't done a single trade. They assure me this is normal. I don't know..I got 60 days to get a refund so I will give it more time. I have mine set to aggressive so I would of thought it would of made a trade by now. I am funded with 6 bitcoins that just sit there..I noticed the Bitcoin robot is using some cpu cycles on my PC. So if its not trading what the heck is it constantly doing?

Maybe its calculating wether it should trade or not?
203  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone use btcrobot.com? on: August 24, 2013, 03:26:39 PM
What is the logic behind this bot? Is the logic customizeable?

It has three modes. conservative, medium and agressive. You can also set it to custom and then set some limuts and stuff. Havent found a detailed explanation for these settings yet.
204  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory no worky... on: August 24, 2013, 09:02:01 AM
Armory require tons or RAM

I'll second that. This little program uses  a ton of resources for some reason. I really do like it, but when it takes me a couple of days just to get it up and running starts to make me think of alternatives. I did think there would have been a newer/updated version by now but nothing yet.

Be patient. We are close. Armory is the safest wallet for normal users. I think you will not regret it if you try Armory again after the update to come.
205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Experience with BTC Robot on: August 23, 2013, 06:45:12 PM
OK my bot still has not performed any trades since the first one. There would have been a great exit point yesterday. But I can not blame them for not owning a crystal ball. Have you tried to get the discount? Marketing is very aggressive. I get one email from them every day. Any of you on the list of those to receive the discount? What about this click better thing? I this a SW seller who is known for selling other stuff as well?

Lel. I believe that Simon is an alt created to make us believe in this "program". I will only trust this if a high ranked member tries it.

No I'm not. I have no sorts of connection to BTC robot other than having bough a licence from them.
207  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory no worky... on: August 22, 2013, 06:16:35 PM
For me it even still works with 4 gb. I just have to end all other services.
208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone use btcrobot.com? on: August 17, 2013, 10:42:53 AM
grue

Our robot members are protected by 60 day guarantee. If they don't produce profits in that time they can get a refund.

We don't force anyone to join us, we are happy to work with people who are with us. I am glad to say that almost everyone who activated is in profit so far.

here are several of them

@eurobitcoin: These profits are not profits. Tey are mainly the initial amounts people deposited. You should correct that. Also in the GUI of the hosted SW.
209  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: BTC Robot ~ 1st Bitcoin Robot 7 Licence Giveaway on: August 17, 2013, 10:14:14 AM
OK guys. Maybe this is a scam. However I can confirm that the thing at least connects to the BTC-e and does some trading there. As my account on BTC-e was only funded with BTC it hasn't done much. It only bought two dollars or so. I am quite happy it is not buying dollars now as the BTC is on downward path. We'll see how it goes. I thought I'll give it a try. I have thought about a trade-bot for a long time so out of curiosity I bought a licence.

So if they are scammers they have at least gone into some trouble to connect to the API and crate an easy interface.

BTC-Robot team: You should not state that the initial funds on BTC-e are Profits. That's misleading and only supports the scam theory.

I'll post again in some days to tell you how it is going.

Hallo

212  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Now Here: Casascius 1000 BTC Fine Gold Coin on: July 31, 2013, 12:58:07 PM
@Casascius

Will there be new gold coins? Like a 20 BTC or so? Any plans for the near future? Wish I would have bought one of these back then...

Edit: Maybe 20BTC will be the new 1000BTC soon? It's still 50 times less but I think you get the point.

Can one of you Amsterdamians please convince his aunt/uncle or so to accept Bitcoins at one of those, can't walk past without buying, waffles etc. sellers. I love those.
214  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Bitcoin EU Convention 2013 (Amsterdam, Netherlands September 27th~29th) on: July 28, 2013, 12:56:58 PM
I'm sorry if you guys can't spend the 2 BTC on the conference. When I was a student I also couldn't do many things because money was missing. These days time is much more the critial factor. However, for a three day conference this is not that much, I think. I don't think that anyone is making money with this entry fee. If you prefer to just talk to people regarding Bitcoin, why not join a local Meetup. If you don't live in Amsterdam you will even save much more money that way as you save on hotel/hostel, train/flight etc.

I hope the organizer will soon publish a list of services in Amsterdam which accept BTC. e.g. Hostels and Coffee Shops  Roll Eyes

217  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: July 25, 2013, 08:41:12 PM
do you guys know what market cap MEANS? market cap is based on all shares issued (even to owners) that might not be "tradeable" yet. it's not only the shares that are released to public. if you guys don't understand what market cap is or what it implies than be ready to lose your money or btc.

As far as hardware goes. personally i can purchase any hardware that labrat can purchase. i understand this may be different for others. however, they may consider a groupbuy as an option too.  pointing out that the current market cap is 15 million is very relevant for people who understand what that means.

I think our dezentralized lexicon does not share this definition:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marktkapitalisierung

The english article needs revising as the first sentence is first implying what your definition of market cap was. However within that first scentance it disagrees already. First it states price times total shares issued. Then it states price times shares outstanding (not held by company itself).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_capitalization

218  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: July 25, 2013, 07:34:06 PM
the market cap for this operation is around 15 million!!! WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT i mean hope investors don't lose money but that is quite a valuation. it's also interesting that everyone is looking to have someone else mine on their behalf instead of getting the equipment themselves
Market cap is arbitrary. The vast majority of the available shares will never be sold. Currently there's, what, 21k shares sold? That's $300k.

Don't forget that, as with all fixed-hashrate shares/bonds (take gigamining as an example. A 5Mhps gigamining share is essentially worthless today), their value naturally decreases as difficulty rises. Early adopters end up paying the most (0.15 or 0.16 BTC), but also get more total income because they start mining sooner. Latecomers obviously have a lower income expectation so they will not be willing to pay as much for a share; shares simply won't be worth 0.15 for long. Share price will start to go down, and continue to go down, at some point.

@superduh: The market cap is actually only the shares which are sold by Lab_Rat. So currently around 21000 x 0.16 BTC

Don't forget that these shares are x gh and no power or hosting fee deducted. So theoretically if Lab_Rat pulls it off the right way, the shares should be worth at least something even in years to come.

@ Lab_Rat: You mentioned somewhere that you think you can hold it with no power or hosting fee deducted down to about 30USD/BTC. Obviously that is just an assuption as for now. What I propose (in case you have not considered) is to build a considerable fund in USD to cover these costs in case BTC takes a huge dive. Let's assume BTC goes down to 1 USD. I think in that case the hashrate will drop drastically. So after the difficulty change it would be superb to mine away at full steam. If the price recovers the mined bitcoins are worth a lot.

OK i know it's just one of many possible szenarios and no-one knows what will happen when in the BTC world. However, I think the proposal above would give incentive to buy shares because we know that our shares would keep mining as long as somehow possible.

Hope I made myself clear

219  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Holy Grail BOUNTY on: July 24, 2013, 04:42:22 AM
Hope all is well with this project.  Where do we stand today?

There are various sub-tasks (and bounties) in this project:

-- Namecoin integration 7.5 BTC
-- Systray GUI with OT integration 10 BTC
-- Markets UI 7 BTC
-- HTTP Interface 8 BTC
-- Integration with legacy banking 12 BTC
-- Bitcoin integration (multi-sig) 10 BTC
-- Bitmessage integration 11 BTC
-- Colored coins integration 10 BTC
-- Internationalization. 5 BTC

If you wish, you can contribute to the individual sub-tasks, whichever ones are your biggest priority.

----------------------------------------------------

Status:

-- Namecoin integration

===> This integration is what enables OT credentials to entirely ditch the legacy Certificate Authorities, and still be revokable.

===> As of last night, our contributor randy-waterhouse has come up with the scheme we are going to use, which will allow for expiration, revocation, multiple credentials, etc.

===> Here is the scheme, if anyone has feedback: http://opentransactions.org/forum/index.php?topic=10.msg40#msg40

===> We are tracking this sub-task here: http://ciyam.org/open/?cmd=view&data=20130607042737932000&ident=M100V131&chksum=6dd7acda

-- Systray GUI with OT integration
-- Markets UI
-- HTTP Interface

===> Xenland is coding this as we speak; he's been working on it for several weeks now.

===> He has a working QT systray app, and he has OT building inside it.

===> He is not done adding the OT functionality, but some of the menu items are working already.

===> Track his progress here: https://github.com/Xenland/Moneychanger

-- Integration with legacy banking

===> This sub-task is posted here: http://ciyam.org/open/?cmd=view&data=20130608221956480000&ident=M100V131&chksum=e257f8e6

===> We will probably not start this until the Bitmessage integration is well-underway.

===> We are hoping to take advantage of the work accomplished in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=173220.0;all

-- Bitcoin integration (multi-sig)

===> Work on this will probably not commence until the basic UI is finished.

===> However, there's no reason why this couldn't be coded now, if someone wants to bid on it: http://ciyam.org/open/?cmd=view&data=20130607042534492000&ident=M100V131&chksum=45d04220

-- Bitmessage integration

===> Work on this will probably not commence until the basic UI is finished.

===> Bitmessage project have already added the necessary changes on their side.

===> If someone wants to bid on this now, work can start immediately:  http://ciyam.org/open/?cmd=view&data=20130607042614187000&ident=M100V131&chksum=f0373e43

-- Colored coins integration

===> I don't think the colored coins guys are ready for this. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) We're waiting to hear from them on the best API for us to use.

===> Whenever they are ready, there's a bounty waiting to be collected: http://ciyam.org/open/?cmd=view&data=20130607042635688000&ident=M100V131&chksum=649becfd

-- Internationalization.

===> becoin has contributed 5 BTC towards internationalization, so we added this subtask: http://ciyam.org/open/?cmd=view&data=20130627012452184000&ident=M100V131&chksum=7a036860

===> No one has bid on this so far.

Any update on this? @fellowtraveler when do you think there will be a need for the first testers? I am only so impatient because it is so exiting.

Once we reach the point where internationalization is implemented, I would be glad to work on the German translation.
220  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BFL_Josh - "Then stop asking for updates, it's that simple." on: July 17, 2013, 06:44:17 PM

Does everyone have to wait the 100 days it takes BFL to get a new chip order in?

Yup.....

We are ~40-45 days into the 90 days every unit will be shipped from the queue...

BTW i stated that i would east my ball sack if they did ship EVERY unit in that time period

I think my ball sack is pretty safe at this point

Your ball sack is safe anyway. In the Bitcoin Universe no one has to keep word.

Josh didn't commit Seppuku when BFL failed to deliver before April 2013. BFL didn't donate to charity when they failed their 1GHash/Watt promise.

Wild Wild West. Full of them cowboys.

I also don't like what they are doing communication and delivery wise. However, they have founded the Bitcoin Development Fund and have filled the Fund with initial 1000 BTC. http://www.bitcoindf.org/
