Just to separate different ideas included in your post:

- IPFS mining looks perfectly feasible and I think it's an incredible idea. However I don't still have the capability to see how it can be included productively into BBP ecosystem, given that current PoDC+Staking schema has proved to work great, I would even say it exceeded everyone's expectatives.

- On proof-of-orphan-mining: another great idea, but again the caveat is quite limiting. This is common whenever you try to to re-engineer a centralized process into a full decentralized one: that you move almost everything to a perfect DAO structure and reduce the remaining centralized part to a singularity point. In this case the singularity is handling with the real physical "proof" of sponsorship. Of course an automated Charities-to-BBP Oracle-like process would be a nice way to solve the situation.

So in all, technically speaking I love both ideas, I will take some time in the following days-weeks to digest them better and study the Oracle problem for charities proof of sponsorship.

From an operating point of view, we still need to analyze how to embed all these wonderful concepts into BBP structure, if possible. I understand that users and investors are suffering because of the low prices. This brings discussions that would never appear should the price be 100 sats.

In the end what we all need is to work together to make all the stream of great ideas flow towards an increased value for the coin (thus bringing benefits to orphans, miners, investors...)

I absolutely love the concept of mintnodes but the security aspect is the only thing that keeps me off. They could run away with everybody's funds at any moment and there would be no way to do anything about it (not even a face to search and destroy in case this happens).

A couple of miners on discord said they were getting constant heat-mine rewards, signal that they were on a fork. They were using 1.1.5.7 but I didn't recall at that moment that the improvement didn't start working until 77000, thanks for ponting out.

BTW I was in contact with some people from Venezuela, they are using DOGE a lot because of the lower withdrawal fees (compared to BTC and DASH) and the more psychological alignment of the absolute value to the local mindset ($1 is a tiny fraction of of Dash but it's 175 DOGE which sounds better for a Venezuelan). Yes it's not very logical but it works like this.

And most important, there are direct bridges from DOGE to $ and vice versa. A lot of people there is accepting ANY crypto that has a conversion to USD.

So I was wondering if BBP could do some inroads into Venezuelan inflation-wrecked economy. The biggest problem would be that direct conversion, which would probably require some local partner there acting as middleman.

CB has adopted a greedy approach, when they allowed for wallet upgrades every 3 months in the past, now they changed to "always" charge 0,5BTC for every fork/consensus/swap upgrade.

I have seen some coins leave CB because of these practices.

In my opinion they are not playing nice as many coins have funding problems today, and this will damage their image in the long run.

I didn't try it myself but this method would probably cost you 2 days to set everything up.

What I do is creating a Linux VM (Xubuntu 16.04 is great) hosted by my Windows, and do the process with Linux and X GUI.
Bear in mind that you won't find any Win32-specific code there, as everything is abstracted via QT libraries so there is no real difference as a developer between both versions.

The Biblepay Foundation (TBF) was thought to avoid tax problems for the individuals to liquidate the charity funds. On the other side, it had the risk of increasing centralization.

After learning that charities could be payed in BTC (thus avoiding tax prosecution for individuals), the whole TBF could be left behind, so we could have a DAO-like organization and avoid the centralization issue.

On the other side, we still need to incorporate some sort of company to allow us to develop the iOS wallet app (Apple is very strict on this and won't allow individual accounts to publish anything that sounds like trademarked) and we still need to improve on communication and prepare a solid continuity plan for the development and roadmap.

As you may understand, it's not easy to do centralized stuff pretending to be decentralized and it's difficult to have a unique, visionary team lead and at the same time pretend to be a bazaar-like open source project.

All these imbalances will be ironed as the project makes progress and it's really feasible to evolve to a full DAO system.

Every time I used more than one wallet to PoDC, the automatic podc update transactions stopped working. That's something I experienced in the past. I don't know why or how to avoid the problem. I stopped mining before having the problem solved so I don't know how to help.
