201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [QRK] Quark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: December 15, 2013, 05:34:06 AM
There have been 2 news items worth mentioning here -
Is now the time to invest in alternative currencies? - 03 December 2013
http://www.finextra.com/blogs/fullblog.aspx?blogid=8624
&
Attack of the Bitcoin Clones
http://www.equities.com/editors-desk/currencies-forex/attack-of-the-bitcoin-clones

Both mention Quark as if it could be the next big thing.

Also, Applecoin seems to have skyrocketed since last nights listing. Quark IS planned to be added soon, right?
They DID just add it to their Cottage Currencies page, which means they will be listing it soon. It could be anytime.
Right now is a great time to buy in, because it's at a lower price since last night, and it's sure to rise real soon.

It's currently the 4th largest in Market Capital and this cannot be ignored for long.

Quote
If you're a short-term punter with a little cash to spare - might be worth sticking it on the lesser-known currencies and making a quick buck - but only if you're planning to sell just as quick as you bought - for everyone else? I'm sure that ship has sailed - time to make our millions elsewhere.

I don't understand? I honestly think Altcoins are just seeing the beginning of investors, everyone wants to make more money on their investment than BTC and when people realize there are altcoins, a ton of money will be poured into them. Plus when Bitcoin goes up, Altcoins go up.

And looking at the charts , when BTC goes down , nukes are failing into the Alt country.
Remeber than only a few are traded against the $ , so a BTC collapse will leave those alts without miners. Would you mine for 0.00002 cents /day?
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once China fully realizes it has been betrayed... on: December 15, 2013, 05:29:17 AM
They just keep coming as soon as price drops 50$, lol

It's same when it is rising though, than we see "when btc will reach one million" ones.

If bitcoin drops to $50 I will buy in 20K worth.

i think he meant every time the price drops 50$ we get a new wave of panicky bears

but ya if the price drop to 50$ I'd go all in aswell Cheesy

but the market is not THAT crazy...

700  already , down it goes Smiley
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOL] Molecule - CPU Minable currency - Mine, Trade, Use - UPDATE:v0.8.10.2 on: December 15, 2013, 05:28:04 AM
one hour but 26659 blocks? Shocked

Failed attempt of a premined coin launch , successful fork , guaranteed failure.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: alt coins. Are they worth it?? and if so which ones on: December 15, 2013, 05:25:15 AM
I believe in Diamond (DMD). This coin is built on top of innovative features compared to Bitcoin: ten times faster in transaction, PoW and PoS combination, transaction messages, instant diff correction, random bonus block, ..... The name itself is extremely attractive to woman. I believe that woman drives e-commerce now. They do shopping a lot. They spend lots of time on fashion, jewelry, shoe stores ... DMD is the coin they may need.

If I were you, I will invest into DMD now or buy it at 5 times higher price in 3-4 months. If you want to be safe, invest into LTC. IMO, LTC will not bring you as much profit as DMD

PS: Cryptsy will re-list DMD in 2-3 days. New wallet is under heavy test and will be released soon.
Next big things to do with DMD: have it listed in BTC-e, CoinUp, BTer, BTC38. I believe that marketing team behind DMD has some preparation already

Just like sexcoin was designed for adult stuff and bbq for food:)
In the end , people buy those with Bitcoins.

And your post looks like one made by a shill
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOL] Molecule - CPU Minable currency - Mine, Trade, Use - v0.8.9.1 on: December 15, 2013, 05:21:01 AM
~14k blocks premined.

So another make my premined coins worth something scheme?
206  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin: The Game [Dev Log][Funding Needed!][Backers Wanted!] on: December 15, 2013, 05:19:11 AM
Any proofs of previous work?
Because :

"*December 14, 2013*
- Initial brainstorm and rough sketches of game
- Initial post on forum"

it seems you have noting at this point.
207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: n00b question about mining economics on: December 15, 2013, 05:16:02 AM
Bitcoin mining is useless unless you are a developer or professional who has whole rooms dedicated to mining and the cost of electricity is worth your time. Going solar power? Useless too because even with free energy you can't beat the difficulty. Don't get me wrong its better to have something than nothing but it's not about hardware anymore its about the markets volatility and easy of use. It's been legally adopted in German get thinking in market terms and not computer terms. Unless you are into it for a hobby...then have at it I do it for fun and even though your neighbors don't quite get the picture yet atleast you're making a move to change the future  Cheesy

Common , stop spreading FUD.
Look in the mining thread , look in the group buys.
People are buying mining equipment for bitcoins , people are running those gears in their houses.
I am one of those doing it and I started mining in August and got new mining gear in November.
The first Neptune batch from knc has already been sold out and it wont be live before march.
208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once China fully realizes it has been betrayed... on: December 15, 2013, 05:11:28 AM
All i know is that China is going to crash this market to near hopelessness....

chain is the most bullish market of all!

look at their volume on the dorps

That is a sign that it is bullish?  Am i missing something here?  How about because they ahve 0 fees?

Isn't time for you to go into hibernation? It's almost x-mas!
209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will Litecoin ever see prices above 40 again on: December 15, 2013, 05:09:58 AM
Litecoin ASIC's came out recently in China, imagine how easily they could 51% attack Litecoin with a few of those at this point if they wanted to just end it. Likely they're just milking it for profit but it just goes to show the potential instability.

source please? It's the first time that I see such a statement

He's probably talking about stuff like this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=341939.0
Just rumors at this moment.

If you pay attention to hash power of Litecoin, you can see when ASIC's started hitting.

Don't be too naive to think the people that make Litecoin ASIC's are not going to milk it for a while before selling them to the public, just like Bitcoin ASIC's. It's more profitable for them to run privately until difficulty reaches X, this it's more profitable to be in the hardware business.

And when was that exactly?
Care to show some numbers?
It has been discussed so many times here , and by people who know what they are talking that, right now , even at those prices asics are not that profitable.
If you can build such things , better build for sha256 Smiley

bla bla

What the hell are you talking about !?
Sorry, but I've been an IT for more than 15years and this make no sense at all...

That's what I'm saying too , it looks like a prank.
A very time consuming prank.
211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alt-Coins on: December 15, 2013, 05:03:28 AM
Once again: If you're considering development of an altcoin, please make it fundamentally different and more useful than what's out there.  If it's just another Bitcoin clone, don't ask us to download another CrapCoin-Qt wallet.

I have been communicating with others about building an altcoin that has mechanism built in to reduce volatility while still appreciating in value.  That, for example, is something that is a benefit to the end investor.

And you say that having in your signature... quaks and doge!
Oh Really!
That sig tells a different story than your post.
212  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy self audit on: December 15, 2013, 05:00:22 AM
Calm down a little.
You're post already start to annoy me , I see threads being updated just because of your spam.
213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once China fully realizes it has been betrayed... on: December 15, 2013, 04:58:49 AM
During this whole rally, it is without a doubt that China has been a main factor.  The reason China was a main factor was because of China itself.  The other exchanges simply followed China's footsteps, and China followed its own mania.  Now that China has come to its senses, it sees that the world has been playing China like a fiddle, just like how the USA played China like a fiddle.  And forget about all the retarded news coming out that a lot of the maniacs on here are screaming about, "OMG Fidelity Fidelity.  OMG Second Market.  OMG Wall street Wall street.  OMG LAMBO for BTC"  Remember something, wall street isn't the guppies, it's you that's the guppy.  Wall street is in it to make money, not to follow a fad.

I feel bad for all those that have finally gotten their money onto bitstamp or has finally convinced their family to loan them $2000, because you're too late.

China is going to unleash its rage on bitcoin, just like it has unleashed its rage on the US dollar.  And just as fast as it has gone up, down it will go.  And no, 2nd market is not going to save bitcoin.

When the chinese maniacs aren't seeing any profits and their wallets getting thinner, there will be mass abandonment.  When the euphoria is over, will bitcoin even be remembered?

You honesty believe what you're typing right there  , or this is the weekend booze that's doing the talk.
Bitcoin doesn't care about China. And , nobody really gives a damn about China.
They were good for a rush , now they can go and .... themselves. Bitcoin is here to stay.

dude China will soon own all the bitcoins. they are now the major player that everyone watches

They are trading more bitcoins than the rest , not buying more of them Smiley
You can't buy what is not for sale.
And I don't give a damn about China.
There wasn't even a damn store or a pizza stand accepting bitcoin there.
214  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Yet another bitcoin gambling site on: December 15, 2013, 04:53:09 AM
I'm making another bitcoin gambling site.

I was already in the team to make one (https://coinballer.com) and I've got a second one on the way.

The game is going to be with a similar dynamic, but a little more exciting.

If there's any gambling men or women reading this, express your interest here and I'll hook you up with the announcement thread when we launch in about a week.

Your second one? Which was the first?
And since you're a newbie , I won't risk my coins on a fresh website with an unknown admin.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else got negative balance on Cryptsy? on: December 15, 2013, 04:49:36 AM
I was checking my balances and out of no where I got a negative balance.
What's going on?

Yeah a few people have including myself, seems to fix itself after a few hours when the site refunds you some btc or whatever coin it is. Mine took about 3 hours.

Alright.

Also the website didn't refund me for a canceled order. Does it take a few days to get your coins back?

Depends on your luck , there are people who experienced problems for more than a week.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vegas Conference: BTC-China Owner Speaks on Govt Announcement on: December 15, 2013, 04:48:08 AM
So why did Baidu pull the bitcoin payment option on their service?

Because nobody was buying from them with bitcoins.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any alt-coin which can be mined in solo with ordinary Intel CPU ? on: December 15, 2013, 04:47:14 AM
I'm especially ask about DESIGN, such alt-coin, which would be for the whole way possible mined in solo.

I'm think about such coin, e.g. difficulty doesn't growth up. What can be unwind instead? Number of blocks per period ( blockchain growth, losing diskspace ) , plus bounty per block. Looks like bitcoin is not rich for such params.

There will be no coins that can be make mining profitable forever for everybody.
Once more people start to mine it difficulty rises and profitability goes down.
If such a coin would exits it would be a printing cash machine , and that cash would be worthless.
218  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you make money online ? on: December 15, 2013, 04:45:05 AM
Betting and gambling

We were talking about how you can make money online , not how you can spend them Smiley
