Once again: If you're considering development of an altcoin, please make it fundamentally different and more useful than what's out there.  If it's just another Bitcoin clone, don't ask us to download another CrapCoin-Qt wallet.

I have been communicating with others about building an altcoin that has mechanism built in to reduce volatility while still appreciating in value.  That, for example, is something that is a benefit to the end investor.

I would like to work on development of a polymorphic altcoin that maintains a stable value and is more resistant to fraud.

How long do you guys think it will take before these lesser known altcoins (not top 5) gain traction?

A few decades.

Both QuarkCoin and DogeCoin are different.  For the former, the underlying technology is different, more secure, and faster.  DogeCoin?  Well, it's just fun.  I can't imagine Bitcoins ever having been cool like these.

What different technology , a clone of a clone?
A clone of securecoin ? More secure? You can picture the security of quarkcoin against bitcoin like putting a sticker on your windshield.

It's true that there's a huge saturation of alt coins in the market now, which is devaluating a lot of them.  It's hard to say which coins will gain in value in the future..

Time will tell. Just like in real life there is the possibility of many coins, with one or two 'major' coins being the prime exchange medium of choice.
